The purpose of this article is to establish fundamental sources and guidelines of bathroom designs of brand apartments in Korea. The article examines the current conditions of bathroom, satisfaction rates, and preference rates of residents in Mid-sized apartment units of the top five brand apartments based on construction capacity and brand popularity. A total of 427 samples, acquired via internet survey, were analyzed with the statistical computer program SPSS PC+ window version 15.0. The conclusions of the article are as follows: 1) Fixtures and products which fulfill various behaviors, as well as multi-functional space programming, are demanded. 2) Developing clear standards of basic bathroom fixtures and environments is also required in further research and to be applied to practical bathroom design. 3) The bathroom fixtures and environments ought to accommodate all age groups. 4) Respondents preferred a separated dry floor, either toilet or sink portion, to a full-dry or full-wet floor. 5) Respondents of all age groups considered bathroom as a private space, thus it should facilitate various private activities. The results of this study would contribute to adequate and sound bathroom design as key information.
The purpose of this study was to explore the characteristics of defining concrete and abstract nouns for the elderly. A total of 382 elderly participated in this study and they were classified into four age groups (i.e., over 55 to under 64, over 65 to under 74, over 75 to under 84, and over 85 year-old group). They performed the word definition task, composed of five concrete and five abstract nouns. The total scores and numbers and ratio of core/supplementary meanings were compared among four elderly groups. The frequency and ratio of error types were also examined. The results showed that all four groups had statistically significant differences in total scores, numbers and ratio of core and supplementary meaning of concrete noun definition task. In addition, abstract noun definition performances revealed group differences except the two groups (over 75 to under 84 and over 85-year-old group). The oldest group showed a sharp increase in error production. The highest ratio of error types were personal experience in over 55 to under 64-year-old group, and over 65 to under 74 year-old groups; and for the target word repetition in over 75 to under 84 year-old group; and no response in over 85 year-old group. In conclusion, both concrete and abstract word defining abilities had age-related deterioration. This decline results from impairment in spreading semantic knowledge within semantic network, which is vulnerable to aging. Characteristics of word definition for elderly can provide basic information to understand various neurolinguistic disorders associated with age.
To investigate the changes of taste perception by aging, sixty one healthy elderly people and sixty five young adults were participated in the study. Most preferred levels of salt sour and sweet taste were chosen in bean sprout soup radish salad and yaksing respectively. Threshold levels of each taste were also chosen in NaCl solution for salt taste in citric acid solution for sour taste and in sucrose solution for salt taste, in citric acid solution for sour taste and in sucrose solution for sweet taste. The results are as follow: 1.Most preferred salt concentration in bean sprout soup was significantly higher in the elderly than in the young adults(p$\leq$0.001). There was no difference in sour taste preference of radish salad in both age groups. Most preferred sweetness in yacksig was significantly higher in both elderly men and women(p$\leq$0.001) 2. Threshold levels of salt and sweet taste were significantly higher in the elderly (p$\leq$0.001) However there was no difference in threshold level of sour taste in both age groups.
Recently, the demand for pubic welfare has been expended to the comprehensive services terms of cultural, medical and psychological aspects and provision of information. These various demands for welfare services to improve citizens'quality of life could be effectively met by an integrated community center covered small regions rather than many existing individual institutions focused on specific services covered wide regions. The purpose of this study was to develop the activity programs for a proposed new millennium community center The activity programs classified into five types (administrative services; information and counselling; health and sports; leisure and culture; and child care and educational services) and each type included various unique activity programs not only for specific age groups but also for all age groups. In order to operate a new millennium community center effectively, the legal supports and systematic organizations to manage the community center should be required. Discussions and recommendations for these issues were included in the study.

The Influence of age on the endothelial modulation of angiotensin II (AII)-induced contractile response was investigated in isolated aortic rings of rats ranging in age from 0.7 to 20 months. Hemoglobin and L-NAME were used to examine whether age-related changes in the EDRF-releasing system were involved in endothelial modulation of All-induced contraction in rat aorta. In all five age groups (0.7, 1.5, 3, 6, 20 months), hemoglobin (10 ${\mu}$M) significantly enhanced All-induced contractile response only in aorta with endothelium intact. L-NAME (10 ${\mu}$M) Produced a significant enhancement in All responses in endothelium-intact aortas from rats aged 0.7 and 1.5 months, but it had no effect in aortas from older rats aged 6 and 20 months. Indomethacin (10 ${\mu}$M) did not affect All-induced contractile responses in both endothelium intact and removed aortas from rats at the age of 0.7 to 20 months. Hemoglobin (10 ${\mu}$M) abolished acetylcholine-induced relaxation response in aortas from young and old rats. L-NAME completely abolished the relaxation in aortas from young (0.7 and 1.5 months), but incompletely in aortas from older (6 and 20 months) rats. The sensitivity of endothelium-dependent relaxation to A23187 increased with age between ages of 0.7 and 6 months, with no further increase noted up to 20 months of age. These results suggest that endothelial modulation of AII-induced contraction in rat aorta might involve age-related alteration in EDRF-releasing system, probably via post-receptor mechanism.
The purpose of this study was to estimate the industrial worker's knowledge, attitude, and practice about occupational health and to provide the basic data for the development of industrial health services. The study was undertaken from January 15 to January 30, 1993. 549 industrial workers at the Industrial Complex located in Chonbuk Province were participated in this study. The results were as follows; 1. The Knowledge, Attitude and Practice leveles of Workers about Occupational Health. The levels were measured by five point scale. The mean score of knowledge was 2. 59 point out of 4. The mean score of attitude was 2.37 point out of 4. The mean score of practice was 2. 38 point out of 4. 2. The analysis of their knowledge" attitude, and practice about general characteristics. 1) There was significant difference among different age groups. $(P{\leqq}0.0001)$ -. The group of age 25-29 was the highest value in knowledge and attitude. -. The group of age over 50 was highest value in practice. 2) There was significant difference between sexual groups in all items. -. Male workers were higher than Female workers in all items. (P=0.0000) 3) There was significant difference according to the marital status in all items. -. Married workers were higher than Single workers in all items. (P = 0.0000) 4) There was significant difference among different groups of educational level in attitude and practice. (P<0.05) The value was positivly correlated to their educational level. 5) There was significant difference among the groups of job-part in knowledge and practice. (P=0.000, P=0.031) -. Office workers were higher than Production workers in all items. 6) There was significant difference among different group of job experience in knowledge and attitude. (P=0.0000. P=0.0387) The value was positively correlated to the years length of job experience. 7) There was significant difference among the groups of different monthly income in all items. (P=0.000) The value was positively correlated to their monthly income.

Purpose: To analyze the growth response to growth hormone (GH) therapy in prepubertal patients with Noonan syndrome (NS) harboring different genetic mutations. Methods: Twenty-three patients with prepubertal NS treated at Pusan National University Children's Hospital between March 2009 and July 2017 were enrolled. According to the disease-causing genes identified, the patients with NS were divided into 4 groups. Three groups were positive for mutations of the PTPN11, RAF1, and SOS1 genes. The five genes undetected (FGU) group was negative for PTPN11, RAF1, SOS1, KRAS, and BRAF gene mutations. The influence of genotype was retrospectively analyzed by comparing the growth parameters after GH therapy. Results: The mean chronological age at the start of GH treatment was $5.85{\pm}2.67years$. At the beginning of the GH treatment, the height standard deviation score (SDS), growth velocity (GV), and lower levels of insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF)-1 levels were not statistically different among the groups. All the 23 NS patients had significantly increased height SDS and serum IGF-1 level during the 3 years of treatment. GV was highest during the first year of treatment. During the 3 years of GH therapy, the PTPN11, RAF1, and SOS1 groups showed less improvement in height SDS, IGF-1 SDS, and GV, and less increase in bone age-to-chronological age ratio than the FGU group. Conclusion: The 3-year GH therapy in the 23 prepubertal patients with NS was effective in improving height SDS, GV, and serum IGF-1 levels. The FGU group showed a better response to recombinant human GH therapy than the PTPN11, RAF1, and SOS1 groups.
Using the Toddler Temperament Scale(Saslow, 1993), the temperament stability of 239 toddlers from the ages of 18 and 30-months was analyzed longitudinally. TTS was composed of five sub-scales; Activity, Approach-Withdrawal, Adaptability, Intensity, and Mood. Significant correlations were established when stabilities of the temperamental sub-scales from 18- to 24-months, 24- to 30-months and 18- to 30-months were examined. For example, in relation to 'Approach-Withdrawal' factor, which was the most stable across infancy, infants who showed higher scores in 18 months of age also showed higher scores in 24- and 30-months of age. In addition, the stability of temperament in the categorical status of each infant was analyzed. Infants were divided into three groups at each age: 'Easy', 'slow-to-warm up', or 'difficult' according to their relative status within each age group. It was found that 54% of infants stayed in the same temperament group from 18 to 24 months, and so did 78% of infants from 24 to 30 months. In particular, 'easy' group illustrated the highest stability among the groups; 71.2% of infants stayed in the same temperament group between 18 and 24 months of age, while 85.9% of infants did so between 24 and 30 months of age. In conclusion, the results of this study indicate high temperament stability during the studied age bracket, while also confirming the fact that stability, in general, increases with age.
