A study of various factors related to satisfaction of complete denture wearers (총의치 장착자의 의치 만족도와 관련된 요인에 관한 연구)

  • Purpose: The aim of this study was to evaluate correlations between denture satisfaction and various factors related to patients' and wearing dentures. Materials and Methods: Total 43 edentulous patients were recalled and they were wearing complete dentures fabricated more than one year ago. For patients' subjective assessment, the questionnaire based on the various literatures was developed and applied to patients for data acquisition. In addition, correlations were evaluated between subjective assessment and denture satisfaction score. For statistical analysis, Spearman correlation coefficient, multiple regression analysis, Mann-whitney U test and Kruskal-Wallis test were used to found out what the most considerable factors to denture satisfaction score (P < 0.05). Results: Denture satisfaction score of maxilla was higher than mandible (P < 0.05). In functional aspects, maxillary denture were received a favorable evaluation. Especially fit and pain causing were highly correlated to satisfaction. Gender, age, using period, visiting times after manufacturing denture were unrelated to satisfaction. But previous experience was related to denture satisfaction. Conclusion: Denture satisfaction was determined by a combination of various factors related to patients.

Design and Implementation Stereo Camera based Twin Camera Module System (스테레오 카메라 기반 트윈 카메라 모듈 시스템 설계 및 구현)

  • The paper actualizes the twin camera module system that is portable and very useful for the production of 3D contents. The suggested twin camera module system is a system to be able to display the 3D image after converting the inputted image from 2D stereo camera. To evaluate the performance of the twin camera module suggested in this paper, I assessed the correction of Rotation and Tilt created depending on the visual difference between the left and right stereoscopic image shot by the left and right lenses by using the Test Platform. In addition, I verified the efficiency of the twin camera module system through verifying Depth Error of 3D stereoscopic image by means of Scale Invariant Feature Transform(SIFT) algorithm. I think that if the user utilizes the suggested twin camera module system in displaying the image to the external after converting the shot image into the 3D stereoscopic image and the preparation image, it is possible to display the image in a matched way with an output device fit respectively for different 3D image production methods and if the user utilizes the system in displaying the created image in the form of the 3D stereoscopic image and the preparation image via different channels, it is possible to produce 3D image contents easily and conveniently with applying to lots of products.

A Study on the Factors Influencing on the Conflicts Perceived by Franchise (프랜차이즈 유통경로상의 갈등에 영향을 미치는 요인에 관한 연구 : 슈퍼바이저의 상거래태도와 업무전문성의 조절효과를 중심으로)

  • Purpose - Recently actively growing franchise systems distribution channel system in which franchise headquarter compared with franchise occupies an important place in distribution channel. Due to this, franchise and franchise headquarter are interdependent on task and in this situation the goal they go after, motivation and objective are probably inconsistent. If so, possibility to participate goal setting process or operating activity of opposite side is becoming bigger and in the end conflict may generate. The purpose of this study is to examine the role of the supervisor's attitude and expertise as moderating factors in the relationship between goal-incongruity/coercive power/role-incongruity and the conflict perceived by franchisee. Research design, data and methodology - This study was intended to verify how the supervisor's attitude and expertise as moderating factors in the relationship between goal-incongruity/coercive power/role-incongruity and the conflict perceived by franchisee. In order to achieve the purpose of this study, some study models and hypotheses have been established through theoretical examinations. Then, using these scales, the researcher completed the questionnaire survey. To test our hypotheses, the survey was conducted from March 9, 2016 for 20 days by random sampling, The study was implemented through a descriptive survey method using a self-administered questionnaire. A survey of 124 restaurant franchisee across Seoul and Gyeonggi Province was performed. A total of 124 completed responses were analyzed. In this study, I used SPSS 22.0 to analyze data and did frequency analysis to see demographic, and general features of the respondents; also did exploratory factor analysis to examine the validity of the items of measurement. Factor analysis was first calculated at a minimum, the number of factors, principal component analysis used when variables are committed to maximising the information with (principle component analysis) and the rotation of factors were angry about the great variable factors than 1.0 by applying Varimax rotation. In addition, I used the value of Cronbach's (Alpha) to examine the reliance of questionnaire items, final analysis the reliability factor can be found both high reliability hayeoteumeuro exceeds over 0.6 and did Multiple regression analysis to test hypothesis and also did hierarchical regression analysis to examine moderating effect. Results - To analyze the proposed model, according to the analysis result, it was found that the influence of goal-incongruity, coercive power, and role-incongruity on the perceived conflict of franchisee is moderated by the supervisor's attitude and expertise. That is, the more the supervisor's attitude and expertise were positive, the more the conflicts of the goal-incongruity, coercive power, and role-incongruity were decreased. It also confirmed previous research's finding that goal-incongruity, coercive power, and role-incongruity positively influence on the conflict. Conclusions - According to the results of this research which reduces the conflict of franchise from the in consistent goal; coercive power, and inconsistent role of superiors, it provides very important implications for franchise headquarter which has franchise system and also give them some suggestion about how to recruit superiors and what kind of training may be fit for the superiors.

Analysis of Preference to Men's Apparel Design by Gender toward Consumers Aged 20-49 (20-49세를 대상으로 성별에 따른 남성복 디자인에 관한 선호도 분석)

  • Apparel professionals need to understand the customer to effectively develop, select, and promote apparel products. Analysis of consumer preferences can help in the creative design process. Therefore the purpose of this study was to identify consumer preference by gender in two segmented group; $20{\sim}34$ aged group and $35{\sim}49$ aged group toward men's apparel consumers, considering target customers and female influences on men's wear purchasing. We used questionnaires that were distributed to 600 males and females aged in their 20s to 40s, using stratified sampling method. Only 547 reliable questionnaires were selected for statistical analysis. Chi-Square and t-test were used to analyze the data, using SPSS program. We obtained the following results: 1. We found that there was a significant association between segmented age group and the preference of men's jacket style. Specially $20{\sim}34$ aged group had a significant association with styles of formal jacket, casual t-shirts, casual pants, but $35{\sim}49$ aged group had formal pants style. Looking at the general percentage, semi-formal jacket, slim fit t shirt, straight casual pants were the most favored styles. 2. Age has an significant effect on the preferences of formal menswear fabric patterns and shirt patterns. The results of t-test showed that there found to be significant by gender in character and check pattern of shirts. 3. In design details, the number of button had not significance by gender, and 2 buttons was th most favored by both age groups. The number of gather at the waist had an significant association in $34{\sim}49$ age group. $20{\sim}34$ age group prefer high waist of pants, while $35{\sim}49$ age group prefer low waist of pants. 4. For on time outfit, formal wear and tie ensemble was the most favored with significant difference by age and gender. Formal wear and no tie ensemble favored by about one third of respondents, and more favored by the younger group. For off time outfit, casual jacket and casual pants ensemble was the most favored.

An Analysis of Structural Equation Model on the Scientific Problem Finding Ability of the Scientifically Gifted Based on Science Related Attitude, Motivation, and Self-regulation Learning Strategy (과학영재의 과학문제발견력 관련변인에 대한 구조방정식모형 분석: 과학관련태도와 동기 및 자기조절 학습전략을 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the Structural Equation Model (SEM) of scientific problem finding ability based on science related attitude, motivation and self-regulation learning strategy of the gifted in science. A total of 153 scientifically gifted students were selected from a university-based Sifted education center The instruments used for the study were Test of Science-Related Attitudes, Motivated Strategies for Learning Questionnaire (MSLQ), and Science Problem Finding Test. In order to examine Structural Equation Model (SEM) of scientific problem finding ability, we assumed scientific problem finding model related to science inquiry, model I (domain specific), and scientific problem finding model related to creativity, model II (domain general) The results of this research are as follows. First, the correlations between science related attitudes and MSLQ were significant; motivation and self-regulated learning strategy as sub factors were positively correlated to science related attitudes. Only scientific attitude as a sub factor of science related attitudes was significantly correlated to elaboration of creativity category in scientific problem finding ability. In other hand, self-regulated learning strategy was significantly correlated to elaboration, inquiry motivation and inquiry level in scientific problem finding ability. Second, as the results of SEM analysis, we confirmed model I and model II were the best adequate through the indices of best fit (TLI, CFI>.90, RMSEA<.08); scientific problem finding ability was directly influenced motivation and self-regulated learning strategy but science related attitudes indirectly influenced scientific problem finding ability through motivation and self-regulated learning strategy. Based on the results, the implications for science gifted education were discussed.

Evaluation of the Validity of Risk-Adjustment Model of Acute Stroke Mortality for Comparing Hospital Performance (병원 성과 비교를 위한 급성기 뇌졸중 사망률 위험보정모형의 타당도 평가)

  • Background: The purpose of this study was to develop risk-adjustment models for acute stroke mortality that were based on data from Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service (HIRA) dataset and to evaluate the validity of these models for comparing hospital performance. Methods: We identified prognostic factors of acute stroke mortality through literature review. On the basis of the avaliable data, the following factors was included in risk adjustment models: age, sex, stroke subtype, stroke severity, and comorbid conditions. Survey data in 2014 was used for development and 2012 dataset was analysed for validation. Prediction models of acute stroke mortality by stroke type were developed using logistic regression. Model performance was evaluated using C-statistics, $R^2$ values, and Hosmer-Lemeshow goodness-of-fit statistics. Results: We excluded some of the clinical factors such as mental status, vital sign, and lab finding from risk adjustment model because there is no avaliable data. The ischemic stroke model with age, sex, and stroke severity (categorical) showed good performance (C-statistic=0.881, Hosmer-Lemeshow test p=0.371). The hemorrhagic stroke model with age, sex, stroke subtype, and stroke severity (categorical) also showed good performance (C-statistic=0.867, Hosmer-Lemeshow test p=0.850). Conclusion: Among risk adjustment models we recommend the model including age, sex, stroke severity, and stroke subtype for HIRA assessment. However, this model may be inappropriate for comparing hospital performance due to several methodological weaknesses such as lack of clinical information, variations across hospitals in the coding of comorbidities, inability to discriminate between comorbidity and complication, missing of stroke severity, and small case number of hospitals. Therefore, further studies are needed to enhance the validity of the risk adjustment model of acute stroke mortality.

Effect of Participation in Regular Leisure Sports on Satisfaction with Family Relationship in Adolescents (청소년의 규칙적인 여가스포츠 참여가 가족관계 만족도에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of participation in regular leisure sports on satisfaction with family relationship in adolescents. To achieve this purpose, 650 students of elementary and middle schools in Seoul and Gyeonggi area were selected and surveyed using the purposive sampling method. 611 survey samples were used in final analysis and 39 survey samples were excluded because of untrustworthy response. Statistical program AMOS 18.0 was used to conduct the confirmatory factor analysis and goodness of fit test, and SPSS 21.0 Window program was used to conduct analysis of frequency, t-test, and ANOVA. Through the analysis, the main findings were as follows; First, it was found that the adolescents participating in regular leisure sports has significant difference in satisfaction with family relationships compared to non-participation group. Second, satisfaction with family relationship of parental participation group in regular leisure sport was high the most followed by lonely participation group and non-participation group. Finally, authors described the implications and future studies.

Performance Test of Wall to Wall Modular Structure Joint for Near-surface Transit (저심도 모듈식 구조체의 벽체간 연결 조인트 성능검증 실험)

  • To overcome the weaknesses of viaduct bridges and the non-economic efficiency of underground LRT, the study of near-surface railway systems is in progress. To apply a box structure to the low depth transit, a connection joint to precast modules are very important when applying precast modular structures to replace temporary structures. In this study, wall to wall connections were applied in diverse cases such as rebar connections, guiding structures that were used to fit the verticality of precast walls during construction, and non-reinforcement structures used only for waterstop. Experimental performance verification was carried out for the bending, shear and splitting of the wall to wall connection. Precision of construction joints between wall to wall was identified as a factor that influenced the structural performance of the precast wall. A structure that can serve as a guide during the vertical insertion of a wall is confirmed for the most suitable case, but it will be necessary to modify this structure for detailed cases.

Effect of Perceived Value on Memories, Attitudes, and Loyalty: Social Enterprise Products (사회적기업 제품의 지각된 가치가 기억, 태도, 그리고 충성도에 미치는 영향)

  • Purpose - Various social issues have arisen since the beginning of the 21st century therefore, enterprises that disregarded social issues have become unsustainable, and social enterprises have appeared to address these issues. A social enterprise is a social mission-focused organization that uses a market-based strategy and has a vulnerable business structure. To be self-sustainable, a social enterprise should make consumers aware of the value that it provides and secure its profitability through consumer consumption. From this perspective, this study investigates the relationship between perceived value (utilitarian and hedonic) and loyalty, and examines how memory and attitudes play mediating roles between perceived value and loyalty. For these purposes, the author developed a structural model consisting of several variables. In this model, perceived value, which was utilitarian and hedonic, was proposed to affect the memory and attitudes toward social enterprise products, thus increasing loyalty. Therefore, memory and attitudes were proposed as core mediating variables between perceived value and loyalty. Research design, data, and methodology - To analyze the proposed model, data were collected from 582 respondents and analyzed using SPSS 21.0 and AMOS 21.0. To test unidimensionality and the nomological validity of the measures of each construct, we employed a scale refinement procedure. The results of the reliability test with Cronbach's α and confirmatory factor analysis warranted the unidimensionality of the measures for each construct. In addition, the nomological validity of the measures was warranted from the results of the correlation analysis. The result of the overall model analysis demonstrated a good fit (χ2=529.881, df=144, χ2/df=3.680, p-value=0.000, GFI=0.905, NFI=0.948, CFI=0.961, RMR=0.036, RMSEA=0.068). Results - The findings are summarized as follows. First, the hedonic and utilitarian value of social enterprise products had positive effects on memory and attitudes. Second, the hedonic value of social enterprise products more strongly affects memory and attitudes than utilitarian value. Third, memory and attitudes had positive effects on loyalty. Lastly, memory had a stronger effect on loyalty than attitudes. Conclusions - The purchase rate of social enterprises' products increases only if the products are included in the "information search" and "alternative evaluation" processes in consumers' purchase decision-making processes. Therefore, a social enterprise must actively promote the fact that it pursues a social value, and shares both the hedonic and utilitarian values of its products. Accordingly, because hedonic value has a more significant impact on a company and attitudes, a social enterprise should develop hedonic values for product consumption, thereby leading consumers who care about value consumption to purchase its products. Moreover, a social enterprise must maintain good memories and attitudes for consumers because memory does not change over time, although attitude does. The limitations of this study and suggestions for future research are as follows. This study viewed "consumer loyalty" as the success factor of social enterprises, thereby considers an "increase in sales" as the success factor. Therefore, in future studies, diverse factors, including social contribution and word-of-mouth intention, should be regarded. In addition, future studies need to thoroughly review and make assurances about the relationship between memory and attitude.

Middle School Students' Evaluation of Scientific Information: From the Perspective of Hypothetico-deductive Reasoning (가설-연역적 추론 관점에서 본 중학생의 과학적 정보 평가 양상)

  • The purpose of this study is to find out how middle school students evaluate scientific information in terms of hypothetico-deductive reasoning. A total of 66 middle school students completed a paper-and-pencil test on scientific information evaluation and 14 of them were individually interviewed for triangulation. The test includes six topics related to scientific or pseudoscientific information, and questions about each topic were sequenced based on a hypothetico-deductive reasoning. The hypothetico-deductive process consists of three steps: identifying predictions made by explanations in the information, identifying data actually obtained, and determining the fit between predictions and data to judge the validity of the explanations. Data analyses have focused on students' response types at each step, whether students used hypoethetico-deductive reasoning, and students' preference to evidence types in making decisions. The middle school students in this study answered the questions in various ways based on how they used the information given or personal knowledge and beliefs. A small portion of students evaluated information based on hypothetico-deductive reasoning. These students tended to give priority to scientific data in determining the validity of the information. On the other hand, students who did not use hypoethetico-deductive reasoning tended to prefer first-hand experience in the decision. The results provide implications for science lessons and the curriculum for scientific literacy. Further research should include student evaluation of the validity of data and other types of reasoning.
