일본 소비지 냉동냉장창고의 새로운 움직임 -수도권 냉동냉장창고를 중심으로 - (A Study on the New Trend of The Consumption District Cold Storage Warehouse Industry in Japan - Focused on Japan Capital region -)

  • Cold storage warehouse industry in Japan has been extended in its scale in terms of both the number of storages and cold storage capacity in order to meet the extended reproduction of the marine products industry. However, increasing total amount of the stored goods since mid 80s led to relative decrease of marine products while the number of storages was remained the same or decreased, though cold storage capacity was gradually increased and is maintained the increase of the average cold storage capacity. As structural change in the cold storage warehouse industry emerges, cold storage warehouses require new approach to individual storage management with 1)diversity of the stored goods; 2) more competition due to increase of the cold storage capacity; and 3) sizing of the average cold storage capacity. Therefore, this study analyzed how cold storage warehouse management activity with individual storage sizing changes; and significance of sizing and functional change in cold storage warehouses experiencing sizing, by observing leading cold storage warehouse industry of the metropolitan area in Japan. In conclusion, reorganization of cold storage warehouse industry in the metropolitan area in Japan can be summarized as follows: First, competition among cold storage warehouses in the metropolitan area in Japan is not simply limited to storage industry but extended to establishment and securing physical distribution function. Second, since cold storage warehouse industry is in Scrap & Build phase, decision of management executives on whether taking direction to maintain/continue enhancement of physical distribution function may cause drastic reorganization in the cold storage warehouse industry, Third, since profit of physical distribution management based on cold storage warehouses is insignificant, it is not easy to accomplish expected management outcome, Fourth, today's cold storage warehouse industry mainly characterized by diversity of the stored goods needs facility reorganization with comprehensive and functional integration covering from F class cold storage capacity to F&C class.

북부 동중국해 살오징어(Todarodes pacificus) 유생분포의 계절특성 (Seasonal Characteristics of Todarodes pacificus Paralarval Distribution in the Northern East China Sea)

  • We conducted eight surveys in the northern East China Sea (ECS) in winter (February - April), summer (July), and autumn (October) 2004-2009, to investigate the seasonal distribution of T. pacificus. A total of 482 paralarvae, ranging in mantle length (ML) from 1.0 - 17.0 mm, were collected at 73 out of 181 stations. There were higher numbers of paralarvae during the winter and summer months than in the autumn. There was significant seasonal variation in the paralarval mantle lengths; mantle lengths were longer in winter (April) than in summer (July). The position of oceanic fronts in the study area played an important role in restricting paralarval distribution along the inshore edge of the Tsushima Warm Current (TWC). When the TWC expanded to western Jeju Island in winter and autumn, the paralarval distribution range extended to include western Jeju Island. However, when the TWC was located southeast of Jeju Island in the summer, paralarvae were distributed along the frontal zone off southeast Jeju Island. Sites at which paralarval mantle length was <2.0 mm ML indicated that the spawning ground were likely to be within the northern ECS in winter and summer, but north of the study area in autumn.

식품안전 위해물질의 발생 및 언론보도가 수산물 생산, 유통 및 소비에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Hazardous Substances Generation and Media Reports on the Production, Distribution and Consumption of Aquatic Products)

  • This study investigated whether there is a correlation between the occurrence of hazardous substances such as vibrio, norovirus, radioactivity, shellfish posion, hepatitis A, etc. and media reports, and whether the occurrence of hazardous substances and media reports affect the production, distribution and consumption of aquatic products. The main research results are as follows. First, it can be seen that there is a difference in the relationship between the occurrence of hazardous substances and media reports according to hazardous substances. Second, it suggests seen that the occurrence of hazardous substances and media reports can have a negative effect on the production and the prices of aquatic products. Third, it was found that the occurrence and reporting of hazardous substances had different effects on the distribution margin of aquatic products due to the complexity and rigidity of the distribution structure. Fourth, consumers feel a threat to aquatic products safety and significantly reduce consumption when hazardous substances occur. There is a possibility that concerns about one item may lead to a decrease in consumption of domestic and imported aquatic products that are not related at all to the occurrence of hazardous substances. In conclusion, aquatic products are exposed to various hazardous substances such as vibrio, norovirus, radioactivity, shellfish posion, and hepatitis A. It was found that the occurrence of hazardous substances and its media reports could cause damage to the fishery sector.

  • 피조개는 우리나라의 내만이나 내해의 비교적 수심이 깊은 곳에 사는 대형종으로 조개류 중에서 가장 값비싼 중요양식종이다. 이 종의 양식을 위한 관심이 컸고, 많은 노력도 해 왔으나 양식의 기본이 되는 종묘생산이 제대로 되지않아 그 양식은 언제나 형식에 지나지 않았다.

  • 하계에 형성되는 전선은 외양과 조류에 의한 해저난류로 연직혼합이 일어나는 곳의 경제역이며, 그 위치는 G($35^{\circ}31^'N$)와 S-line ($35^{\circ}25^'$)의 $G_3$$G_4,\;S_3$$S_4$사이였다. 동계에는 서해 전역이 저층의 난류 혼합과 표면의 대류작용으로 인하여 전 해역에서 연직혼합이 일어나므로 하계의 구조와 같은 전선은 명확하게 형성되지 않았다. 8월은 전선을 경계로 하여 phytoplankton 종별 분포의 차이가 나타나는 현상을 보였으나 이와 같은 차이는 2월에는 볼 수 없다. 8월 zooplankton의 분포는 전선을 경계로 연안 정점들에서는 Pseudoeuphausia latifrons, Acetes chinensis가 배타적으로 출현하였다. 2월 zooplankton의 분포는 Corycaeus affinis, Centrophages abdominalis가 주로외 양정점들에 우점적으로 출현하고 이 두 종과는 달리 Paracalanus parvus는 주로 연안 수역에 우점적으로 출현하였다.

수산음향기법을 이용한 아산만 멸치(Engraulis japonicus)와 기타어군의 분포 및 현존량 추정 (Distribution and Abundance of Japanese Anchovy Engraulis japonicus and Other Fishes in Asan Bay, Korea, estimated Hydroacoustic Survey)

  • The distribution and abundance of coastal fish species in Asan Bay, Korea, were estimated from hydroacoustic survey and net catches. Acoustic data were collected with 38 and 200 kHz from July to October of 2012, and converted to the nautical area scattering coefficient (NASC, $m^2/mile^2$) for $0.25n{\cdot}mile$ along ten transects. Japanese anchovy Engraulis japonicus was the dominant specie in the net catches. The virtual echogram technique was used to distinguish E. japonicus from other species based on the differences in the mean volume backscattering strength (${\Delta}MVBS$) at 38 and 200 kHz. Engraulis japonicus and other fishes are mainly distributed in the center channel and outer part of Asan Bay. E. japonicus tends to move from inner to outer Asan Bay in summer and fall. From NASC data, the target strength and length-weight function of E. japonicus and other fishes were used to estimate the E. japonicus stock at 24.1-93.3 tons, and other fish at 40.6-88.4 tons from July to October 2012. The estimated anchovy biomass compared well with the cumulative catch weight from stow net catches. The hydroacoustic method offers an approach to understanding spatial/temporal structure and estimating the biomass of fish aggregations in coastal areas.

동지나해의 초음파 산란층에 관한 연구 ( 1 ) ( Acoustic Scattering Layers in the East China Sea ( 1 ) )

  • 동지나해의 초음파산란층에 대한 기초적 연구로서, 산란층의 주야간에 대한 수직이동상태와 Echo 신호의 변동특성에 관하여 검토한 결과, 수심 20m~80m에 형성된 상\ulcorner하한의 수온차가 약 11$^{\circ}C$인 수온약층부에서 일몰 전에는 산란층의 Echo 신호가 뚜렷하지 않았으나, 일몰 후부터 수심 35m~45m 구간에서 산란층이 강하게 나타내기 시작하여, 시간이 경과할수록 수직적으로 신장되면서 표층을 향해 점차 부상하는 경향을 나타내었다. 한편, 일출 전에 초음파산란층의 상부는 수온약층의 상부까지 부상하였고, 또 전 수심에서 상당히 강한 Echo 신호가 돌발적으로 출현하는 현상이 확인되었으며, 이것은 저층에 분포하고 있던 어군이 부상하여 발생한 것으로 생각된다. 일출 후에는 산란층이 급속히 하강함과 동시에 Echo level도 급격히 낮아지는 경향을 나타내었고, 그 하강속도는 일몰 후 산란층의 부상속도에 비해 현저하게 빠른 현상을 나타내었으며, 일출전후 약 30분간에 가장 강한 Echo 신호가 관측되었다. 또 Echo 신호의 진폭빈도분포는 일몰전에는 전 수층에 걸쳐 Echo level이 매우 낮으므로 낮은 level에 많이 집중되는 지수분포형을 나타내고, 일출전후에는 Echo 신호가 높은 level에 많이 집중되는 정규분포형을 나타내었다.

A case study of red tide detection around Korean waters using satellite remote sensing

  • Korea has experienced 10 a Cochlodinium polykrikoides red tide outbreaks during the last 10 years (1993-2002). The monitoring activities at National Fisheries Research and Development Institute (NFRDI) in Korea have been extended to all the coastal waters after the worst of fish killing by C. polykrikoides blooms in 1995. NFRDI is looking forward to finding out the feasibility of red tide detection around Korean waters using satellite remote sensing of NOAA/AVHRR, Orbview-2/SeaWiFS, IRS-P4/OCM and Terra/MODIS on real time base. In this study, we used several alternative methods including climatological analysis, spectral and optical methods which may offer a potential detection of the major species of red tide in Korean waters. The relationship between the distribution of SST and C. polykrikoides bloom areas was studied. In climatological analysis, NOAA, SeaWiFS, OCM satellite data in 20th and 26th August 2001 were chosen using the known C. polykrikoides red tide bloom area mapped by helicopter reconnaissance and ground observation. The 26th August, 2001 SeaWiFS chlorophyll a anomaly imageries against the imageries of non-occurring red tide for August 20, 2001 showed the areas C. polykrikoides occurred. The anomalies of chlorophyll a concentration from satellite data between before and after red tide outbreaks showed the similar distribution of C. polykrikoides red tide in 26th August, 2001. The distribution of the difference in SST between daytime and nighttime also showed the possibility of red tide detection. We used corrected vegetation index (CVI) to detect floating vegetation and submerged vegetation containing algal blooms. The simple result of optical absorption from C. polykrikoides showed that if we use the optical characteristics of each red tide we will be able to get the feasibility of the red tide detection.

고분자 응집제를 이용한 반순환여과양식시스템의 배출수 내 고형물 응집 효율 및 입도 분포 (Flocculation Efficiency and Particle Distribution of Total Suspended Solids in the Effluent from Semi-recirculating Aquaculture Systems Treated with Polymers)

  • Interest in effluent treatment is currently increasing and the use of polymetric coagulants is considered as a pretreatment of physical filtration prior to effluent discharge to increase solids recovery. A jar test evaluated effluent treatment efficiency of polymeric coagulants for semi-recirculating aquaculture systems. The particle coagulation efficiency and distribution were evaluated at different polymer dosages in freshwater and seawater effluents. The polymer was added at 0.005-0.08 mL/g of total suspended solids (TSS) in the effluents. TSS in the supernatant after coagulation decreased with increasing polymer dose in the freshwater, while showing no corresponding changes with dose in the seawater. However, in all treatments for both effluents, the removal efficiency was above 90%, regardless of the dose in the tested range. Both the De Brouckere Mean Diameter (DBMD) and volumetric median diameter (VMD) were all above 100 ㎛ in the freshwater effluent. In the seawater effluent, the particle size appeared to be larger than that in freshwater, ranging from 400-1,000 ㎛ for both DBMD and VMD. Considering that the typical pore size of physical filtration in aquaculture is between 60 and 200 ㎛, the use of polymers is expected to improve the practicality of physical filtration for efficient treatment.

황해 남동부 해역 저질 내 와편모조류 휴면포자의 분포 (Horizontal Distribution of Dinoflagellate Resting Cysts in Sediments from the Southeastern Yellow Sea)

  • To gain a greater understanding of the potential for future harmful algal bloom (HAB) outbreaks and to trace the dispersal paths of dinoflagellates, sediment samples were collected from 13 stations in the southeastern Yellow Sea. 23 different types of dinoflagellate resting cysts were identified from the samples. Protoceratium reticulatum (1-391 cells/g dry weight), Gonyaulax scrippsae (0-254 cells/g dry weight), G. spinifera (0-301 cells/g dry weight) and Alexandrium spp. (ellipsoidal type) (0-76 cells/g dry weight) were the dominant species at all surveyed stations. The overall distribution pattern demonstrated that the resting cyst densities were highest in the offshore area and decreased gradually toward the Korean coast. On the other hand, the composition rate of resting cysts of the heterotrophic dinoflagellate species to the total dinoflagellates was higher in the Korean coast region than in the offshore area. We supposed that this distribution pattern of dinoflagellate resting cysts appeared to be influenced by the hydrographic features and environmental conditions of the Yellow Sea.
