  • The single layer direct-coupled YBCO SQUID magnetometers have been fabricated and characterized for the purpose of the measurement of weak magnetic signals in unshielded environment. Two types of magnetometers have been designed and fabricated using 10 mm$\times$ 10 mm substrates. We could operate the conventional 3-mm-wide solid pickup loop magnetometers more stably than the 12-parallel-line pickup loop magnetometers in laboratory environment. We developed a first-order electronic gradiometer system using the SQUID sensors with axial displacement of 80 mm without any mechanical alignment of magnetometers. The system with a software filter using calculation of discrete Fourier transform could record clearly weak pulse signal of 100 pT in a magnetically disturbed environment.

  • In this paper, nonlinear model predictive control (NMPC) is addressed to develop formation guidance for multiple unmanned aerial vehicles. An NMPC algorithm predicts the behavior of a system over a receding time horizon, and the NMPC generates the optimal control commands for the horizon. The first input command is, then, applied to the system and this procedure repeats at each time step. The input constraint and state constraint for formation flight and inter-collision avoidance are considered in the proposed NMPC framework. The performance of NMPC for formation guidance critically degrades when there exists a communication failure. In order to address this problem, the modified optimal guidance law using only line-of-sight, relative distance, and own motion information is presented. If this information can be measured or estimated, the proposed formation guidance is sustainable with the communication failure. The performance of this approach is validated by numerical simulations.

  • In recent years, analog to digital converter is significant component in high frame rate system. But, in the future. as long as minimum line width is reduced, matching between speed and resolution may be worse. In this paper, first-order $\Sigma-\Delta$ analog to digital converter is adopted and designed as its solutions. Hspice simulation is performed, using $0.65{\mu}m$ CMOS 2-poly 2-metal model parameter.

  • The calculation of parameters of a process model is modified to find that better sliding mode controller for a process with time delay. A design method by Camacho has such problems as chattering, overshoot due to the Pade approximation errors for the time delay term of the first order model. In this paper, a new design technique for a sliding mode controller is proposed by introducing the modified Pade approximation considering the weight factor. The modified method is expected to provide a more accurate model with better control settings.

  • X-ray astronomy deals with measurements of the electromagnetic radiation in the energy range of $E\~0.1-100 keV (\lambda\~0.12-120{\AA})$. The wavelength of X-ray is comparable to the size of atoms, so that the photons in the X-ray range are usually produced and absorbed by the atomic processes. Since the launch of the first X-ray astronomy satellite 'Uhuru' in 1970, technological advances in a launch capability and a detection capability make X-ray astronomy one of the most rapidly evolving fields of astronomical research. Particularly, a spectral resolving power $E/{\Delta}E$ has been increased by an order of 2 - 3 (in the energy range of 0.1 - 10 keV) during the past 30years. In this paper, I briefly review a developing process of the resolving power and spectroscopic techniques. Then I describe important emission/absorption lines in X-ray astronomy, as well as diagnostics of gas property with line parameters.

  • Magnetohydrostatic equilibria, in which the Lorentz force, the plasma pressure force and the gravitational force balance out to zero, are widely adopted as the zeroth order states of many astrophysical plasma structures. A magnetic flux-current surface is a surface, in which both magnetic field lines and current lines lie. We for the first time derive the necessary and sufficient condition for existence of magnetic flux-current surfaces in magnetohydrostatic equilibria. It is also shown that the existence of flux-current surfaces is a necessary (but not sufficient) condition for the ratio of gravity-aligned components of current density and magnetic field to be constant along each field line. However, its necessary and sufficient condition is found to be very restrictive. This finding gives a significant constraint in modeling solar coronal magnetic fields as force-free fields using photospheric magnetic field observations.

  • Recently, remodeling of the reinforced concrete apartment became hot issue of the housing policy in Korea. In Korea, the seismic design regulation has been revised since it was established in 1988 first, in order to minimize the economic losses. It has studied that the apartments that built in 1980's and their new remodeling for seismic performance. Also lateral displacement of remodeling analysis about variation of shear-wall for apartment on the architetural remodeling. Position change by wall quantity is state that study about efficient guide line about apartment wall quantity changed at remodeling because it is factor that can influence on motion of whole building is insufficient.

  • This paper studies small and medium sized financial agency's management states that take advantage of the Korea Federation of Saving Bank's data. It also presents the management state and the decision-making model that monitors progressive insolvency by standardizing transfer path between relevant groups. With this in mind, we extracted explanatory variables for predictions of insolvency by using existing studies of document related insolvency. First of all, we designed a state model based on demarcated groups to take advantage of the self organizing map that groups in line with a neural network. Secondly, we developed a transition model by standardizing the transfer path between individual banks in a state model. Finally, we presented a decision-making model that integrated the state model and the transition model. This paper will provide groundwork for methods of insolvency prevention to businesses in order for them to have a smooth management system in the financial agencies.

  • Vertical Colour Selection (VCS) is an option for slim CRTs with increased sharpness and brightness. The direction of self-convergence of the DY is changed to vertical in order to obtain better spot uniformity, but the line scan direction remains horizontal. Hence, no video conversion is needed, contrary to transposed scan. In this paper we address two issues: First, there is a high risk of moire, since the scan lines and the phosphor stripes are parallel. We propose a feedback mechanism guiding the electron beams towards the middle of the mask slots. As positive side effects, the brightness is improved and the shadow mask can be made of a cheap type of steel. Secondly, VCS deflection coils have to satisfy different requirements than coils in ordinary CRTs. We discuss the design rules for self-convergent VCS coils and present simulation results.
