  • This paper is an analysis of the Category Individual Residence urban spatial structure along the National Route BO (Koushu-Kaido), one of the major roads in Japan, and the degree of differences between locations and its changes between the points of time. The analysis was based on the GIS technique. Whilst, previous studies were based on municipal boundaries or mesh units as sources of data, GIS allowed the use of variable geographical units, Roadside zone, Inner zone, North zone, South zone, Blocks. As an example to apply the technology of GIS, 1986's and 1991's building polygon data of the Urban Planning Bureau of Tokyo Metropolitan Government are used. The layers referred to the analyses is the building polygons with the amount of stories, building area, floor area and the material of the building. Two statistical analysis are executed; one is the test of the regional equality about the number of story of building, building area, floor area and fireproof building ratio.

  • Application of aluminum alloy has been increasing for most of industry area because aluminum has a good mechanical properties and castability, especially automotive field for weight reduction. But, Furnace industry is sluggish. The purpose of this study is numerical analysis of aluminum holding furnace for reasonableness estimation when we design for new model of furnace. The numerical simulation involving fluid flow of inside air and heat transfer to fireproof material is presented in order to improve the understanding of aluminum furnace. First of all, we are carried out numerically for the two dimensional inside convection and surface radiation heat transfer in a square enclosure. Subsequently, we are established the analysis method of aluminum furnace considering natural convective heat transfer

  • Recently, the use of ALC has became increasingly popular. ALC is a unique building material. Because of its cellular nature, it is lightweight, self-insulating, sound and fireproof, as well as insect and mold resistant. Furthermore, ALC is free of VOCs and various fibers associated with wood and glass wool construction. However, ALC have high water absorption, low compressive strength and popout the origin of the low surface strength in its properties. These properties make troubles under construction such as cracking and popout. Thus, this study is to improve the fundamental strength by controls of increasing of admixtures, and grain size. Admixtures make use of metakaolin, silica fume, sodium silicate and sodium hydroxide. From the test result, the ALC using admixture have a good fundamental properties compared with plain specimen. Compressive strength, specific strength and abrasion's ratio were improved depending on increasing admixtures ratio's, and grain size.

  • Nowaday, High strength concrete(HSC) has been mainly used in high rise building. HSC have superior property as well as improvement in durability compared with ordinary strength concrete. In spite of durability of HSC, explosive spalling in concrete front surface near the source of fire occurs serious problem in structural safety. Thus, this study is concerned with experimentally investigation fire resistance of the inorganic fire protection materials at high temperatures up to $800^{\circ}C$. From the test result, developed inorganic binder becomes general that with rising temperature the compressive strength of the material increases in tendency. Therefore, the results indicate that it is possible to fireproof panels, fire protection of materials, etc.

  • In order to develop composite fiber panels that can maximize the protection and blast resistance of the existing structures by improving lightweight, high-strength and fireproof performances of the single layer material of precast panels, the basic properties of the inner and outer covers that are mixed with aramid fibers (AF) and polyester fibers (PF) were evaluated in this study. Also, a basic study was performed on the performance of composite fiber panels by testing Nano-sized composite materials that are lightweight and excellent in fire resistance for their compressive strength, bending strength and tensile strength.

  • Sprayed fire resistive materials are mainly used at steel structures to satisfy fireproof construction standard. However, the regulations on bond strength have been not considered with the exception of structures in the nuclear power plants, although it is an important factor showing material properties. Therefore, this paper suggested guidelines for bond strength of sprayed fire resistive materials used in the substation, by measuring bond strength according to aging of structures and impact loading considering environment of substations. It is judged that the bond strength suggested in this paper is the minimum value because it was measured from specimens widely used.

  • Autoclaved lightweight concrete (ALC), also known as autoclaved aerated concrete (AAC), is a lightweight, precast building material that simultaneously provides structure, insulation. ALC is a unique building material. Because of its cellular nature, it is lightweight, self-insulating, as well as sound and fireproof. ALC products include blocks, wall panels, floor and roof panels, and lintels. Recently, the use of ALC has became increasingly popular. However, ALC have high water absorption, low compressive strength and popout the origin of the low surface strength in its properties. Thus, this study is to improve the fundamental strength by controls of increasing of admixtures and chemical reactants. Admixtures make use of meta kaolin and silica fume, chemical reactants make use of sodium silicate and sodium hydroxide. From the test result, the ALC using admixtures and chemical reactants have a good fundamental properties compared with plain ALC. These good fundamental properties is caused by the admixtures and chemical reactants of ALC by the reason of the micro filling effect and chemical binding of C-S-H gel, tobermolite and quartz.

  • Concrete tunnel lining must be designed to having the fireproof performance because the lining are sometimes exposed to very high temperature due to traffic accident. Such fire temperature may cause explosion of concrete, or collapse of tunnel structure. The purpose of this study is to obtain the fundamental fireproof behavior of fire resistance-engineered cementitious composites(FR-ECC) under fire temperature in order to use the fire protection material in tunnel lining system. The present study conducted the experiment to simulate fire temperature by employing 2 types of FR-ECC and investigated experimentally the explosion and cracks in heated surface of these FR-ECC. Employed temperature curve were hydro carbon(HC, ECl) criterion, which are severe in various criterion of fire temperature. The numerical analysis is carried out the nonlinear transient heat flow analysis and verified against the experimental data. The complex features of behavior in fire conditions, such as thermal expansion, plasticity, cracking or crushing, and material properties changing with temperature are considered. By the use of analytical model, the concrete tunnel subjected to fire loads were analyzed and discussed. With comparison of current concrete materials and FR-ECC, the experimental and analytical results of FR-ECC shows the better fire resistance performance than the other.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the names and types of walls constructed in the late Joseon Dynasty in YeonggeonUigwe, a record of construction works of the Joseon Dynasty, and to examine the current status and name of walls constructed in the main hall and the Yeongnyeongjeon Hall of Jongmyo Shrine. The results of the study are as follows. First, the name of the wall can be divided into four types depending on the characteristics, including direction, location, shape, function, material, and complexity, and was used as a compound word in front of the wall. Second, some of the wall types related to the material were found to have differences in the timing of theypes of walls. Since the 18th century, the use of earthen walls has been reduced, and the use of wooden walls and paper walls are often used. Third, the walls of the Jongmyo Shrine were composed of a mud wall and a fireproof wall. A fireproof wall was installed in the main hall, including a pillar, while the Yeongnyeongjeon Hall was installed only between the pillar and the pillar. Fourth, the Gap Wall can be defined as the "wall constructed at the upper part of the chamber used in the construction of the building in Jongmyo." This study is meaningful in that it attempted to clarify the definition of a wall in the late Joseon Dynasty by examining the names and examples of walls used in the late Joseon Dynasty, focusing on walls that lacked research in familiarity.
