  • The purpose of this study is to analyze an adequate deployment of fire service force to be prepared to respond appropriately and effectively in Korea by settlement pattern. In order to examine the deployment of fire service force by the present standard, we analyzed the logical basis and the deployment of fire service force by city and province. We also classified clusters for settlement pattern through the statistical methods and raised several points for the existing deployment model of fire service force by the classified settlement pattern. As a result, it was confirmed that the deployment of fire service force by the settlement pattern was irrelevant to fire service need.

  • The purpose of this study is to offer the improvement for deployment of fire service force in Korea by settlement patterns on the basis of analysis for the present standard and deployment of fire service force. For the adequate deployment and operation of fire service force by settlement patterns, we carried out the analysis of the present standard calculated with allocation of the authorized strength. We also classified clusters for settlement pattern through the statistical methods. We proposed the standard for deployment of fire service force reflected with environmental and need factors through the introduction of standardized index.

  • Recently the systematic change in the fire and disaster prevention administration, which was less studied than other administrative systems, has been in progress. In particular, the fire service demands are increasing and forms are diversified. The first thing you must do is to make up the fire service power according to the fire service demands. Such an allocation results in social welfare satisfaction. The purpose of this study is to investigate the determinants of fire service force. And this study investigates that fire service demand is affected by socioeconomic factor. To do this, this study reviews fire service force, the fire service demand, socioeconomic factor and financial factor. And this study sets up four hypotheses based on the theoretical backgrounds and the past research. The statistical method used for the verification of hypotheses are multiple regression analysis and structural equitation analysis. The analysis showed that fire service demand and financial factor were positive significant variable for fire service power. But socioeconomic factor was a negative significant variable. Also the analysis showed that social factor was a positive significant variable and economic factor was a negative significant variable for fire service demand.

  • Because the fire service demands are increasing and forms are diversified, the first thing you must do is to make up the fire service budget to keep fire service power sufficiently. Such budget allocation leads to supply enough fire service people want and results in social welfare satisfaction. If the budget of fire service is not enough to meet with its power, sufficient security of the fire fighters would be impossible. Also, when the urgent disasters occur, the government cannot cope with them effectively. In fact, loss of many lives and properties took place in some cities and kuns because of that. The purpose of this study is to investigate the influence of fire service budget for fire service force. To do this, this study reviews fire service budget, fire service force. And this study sets up three hypotheses based on the theoretical backgrounds and the past research. The statistical method used for the verification of hypotheses is multiple regression analysis. The analysis showed that fire service budget per head variable was positive significant, fire service budget ratio variable was not significant. Also, public facilities tax variable was negative significant. Therefore, the analysis showed that public facilities tax couldn't fill the role as a earmarked tax.

  • This study analyzes the issue of the supply of force of fire in the high-rise buildings, and proposes an efficient method to do so. The results are as follows. First, in terms of Detect fire, it is necessary to shorten force of fire supply time by diversifying fire alarms such as alarms, vibrations, and voices from outside, clarification of fire occurrence points, and marking of fire. Second, with regard to communication signals, strengthening the installation target of wireless communication auxiliary facilities, supplementing the installation of repeaters, and constructing a multicommunications network were proposed. Third, in terms of Decide action, it is necessary to supply firefighter and firefighting equipment with the method of crossing of a river in adjacent buildings. Fourth, in terms of Respond to site, helicopters and emergency elevators are used to assist in the supply of firefighting equipment using drones. Easy-to-break glass windows and identification marks are required in every floor. Finally, in terms of applying fire suppressants, water can be supplied by means of a helicopter adjacent to the structure.

  • This study was to investigate emergency medical service demands, fire service force of local governments, and relationship between these two factors for developing effective prehospital emergency medical services. For this, this study was measured the ratio of the number of patients transported and residents, ambulances and residents, patients transported and ambulance workers of 16 local governments. And then examined hypotheses. Data were collected from 2000 year to 2010 year. This study results indicated that average number of patients transported are significant differences not only between metropolitan district and general district, but also between capital area and non-capital area. And this study indicated that the fire service force are significant differences not only between metropolitan district and general district, but also between capital area and non-capital area. Also, the numbers of patients transported per ambulance, and the numbers of patients transported per ambulance worker were significant by regional groups. The number of patients transported per ambulance was a significant difference between the first half and the second half, but there was not a significant different the number of patients transported between the first half and the second half.

  • Plan of Human Resource Development is essential to strategically promote poor domestic fire protection industry and as a consequent to grow it to a high value added service industry. To foster fire protection industry, any reform will be needed to for a smooth supplies of work force by training customized high class work force. Consequently, In this study, We will investigate and analyze the status and problems of current domestic fire protection industry so that We can suggest the direction for a way to improve these.

  • The effects of the Sewol ferry disaster have infiltrated into various fields, such as politics, the economy, and social fields in Korea, and the population's consciousness of the importance of safety has been strengthened by the disaster. The purpose of, this study is to empirically verify whether there has been any change in the fire service environment following the Sewol ferry disaster. Such a change would be expected to have produced a change in the consciousness of the government about safety and increased the level of support. This study sets out five research hypotheses and verifies their adoption. The years studied are those before and after the accident occurred, viz. 2013 and 2015, respectively, and the main statistical technique is the t-test. The main results of this study are as follows. First, there was no significant difference in the fire-service demand between the two years. Second, the fire-service budget showed a significant difference between the two years. Third, the regional resources facilities tax showed a significant difference between the two years. Fourth, the fire-service budget considering the fire-service demand showed no statistically significant difference. Fifth, the fire service-demand considering (the number of) fire-fighters was significantly different in the rescue and emergency medical services between the two years. Sixth, the fire service-demand considering fire-equipment showed no significant difference between the two years.

  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate influence factors of secondary traumatic stress, burnout, and physical symptoms which were experienced by fire fighters. The questionnaire research was done for field service fire fighters who work in Korea. I analyzed 358 questionnaires and the questionnaires consisted of stress scale, work force, burden of physical symptoms, and self-control to stress. Through this study I will propose the solution for the posttraumatic stress disorder(PTSD) for the near future.

  • Now, in Korea, the performances of the building service equipment relay on the individual superintendent's share for the assessment of performance, fault detection, deterioration diagnosis of the building service equipment. As the result, very different quality of the performance or the durability of equipment is being obtained with his skill and effort and it is also not easy to assess that quality. This finally lead to the waste of labor force and the operating cost due to the high-cost, low-efficiency system. How to construct the N-BMS was considered to save energy, resource and to conserve performance of building service equipment. The FEMIS, facility, energy/environmental management & information system, for building service offer management process integrated with BAS, FMS and EMS and so on.
