Analysis of the Apparent Specific Gravity for Type-3 Dry Chemical Powder with the Changes in the Internal Pressure of Dry Chemical Extinguisher (분말소화기의 내부압력 변화에 따른 제3종 분말소화약제의 겉보기비중 실험 분석)

  • This study aims to analyze whether the performance of the fire extinguisher meets the criteria for the apparent specific gravity property test by calculating the change in internal pressure and the use period of the fire extinguisher as a new one with 5 years, recycled one with 5 years, a new one with 10 years, and a new one with 13 years, respectively. As a result of the experiment, when the internal pressure of the fire extinguisher was 0%, the first, second, and third arithmetic mean analysis of the dry chemical extinguisher according to the use period was found to be condemned. When the internal pressure of the fire extinguisher was 50%, it was measured as 130 ml in sample 12-08-new and analyzed as unsuitable. Also, sample 09-09-new of a new dry chemical extinguisher with 13 elapsed years measured 145ml, which was found inappropriate. All other dry chemical extinguishers were analyzed to be suitable. All were noted suitable when having normal internal pressure of the fire extinguisher, except for sample 09-06 of a new dry chemical extinguisher with 13 elapsed years, which was determined to be unsuitable caused by measuring as 131 ml for experimental value. As a result of experiments, some of the apparent specific gravity tests of dry chemical extinguishers from 10 years to 13 years have found that they are unsuitable for the performance of the fire extinguishers due to the massive phenomenon. Accordingly, it is necessary to reduce the endurance period of dry chemical extinguishers from 10 years to 7 years.

  • Generally, electronic appliances are used on the basis of normal power source supply. The power source inevitably includes the abnormal condition, such as, sudden voltage sagging, power interrupt, and induced noises. As the electronic appliances which include micro-controller-based circuits are being increased recently, the controller circuit sometimes malfunctions by the abnormal condition of the power source. This situation causes serious problems such as hitch of electric appliance, fire and medical instrument glitch, which produces serious situations. In this paper, development of power interrupt tester which is highly suitable for an endurance test device under abnormal power source to microprocessor-based circuits is proposed 89C2051 microcontroller is performed to make power interrupt signal, and software controls peripheral hardwares and built-in functions. Experimental results of this study will offer a good application to electronic appliance maker as a test device of hardware and software debugging use.

  • In the tunnel of domestic high - speed railway, the main fire - fighting facility, fire - extinguishing passageway, is installed. However, due to the high pressure of the high - speed train, frequent breakage and maintenance are caused by strong shock and long - term vibration. In order to solve these problems, it is necessary to improve the fire door, but in Korea, it is installed by submitting a certificate by simple KS F 2296 performance test. At present, it is developed as a simple test certification by producing a real scale fireproof door without the theoretical examination in advance, so that a high cost for improvement is occurring in Korea. Therefore, through this study, structural analysis study which can preliminary structure review was carried out in order to design the refuge connection passage fire door and to improve the performance improvement. In order to secure the reliability of the result value, the official authentication test (KS F 2296) were compared.

Smart Vision Sensor for Satellite Video Surveillance Sensor Network (위성 영상감시 센서망을 위한 스마트 비젼 센서)

  • In this paper, satellite communication based video surveillance system that consisted of ultra-small aperture terminals with small-size smart vision sensor is proposed. The events such as forest fire, smoke, intruder movement are detected automatically in field and false alarms are minimized by using intelligent and high-reliable video analysis algorithms. The smart vision sensor is necessary to achieve high-confidence, high hardware endurance, seamless communication and easy maintenance requirements. To satisfy these requirements, real-time digital signal processor, camera module and satellite transceiver are integrated as a smart vision sensor-based ultra-small aperture terminal. Also, high-performance video analysis and image coding algorithms are embedded. The video analysis functions and performances were verified and confirmed practicality through computer simulation and vision sensor prototype test.

Field Survey on the Maintenance Status of Greenhouses in Korea (온실의 유지관리 실태조사 분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate greenhouse maintenance by farms by looking into greenhouses across the nation for greenhouse specification, disaster-resistance greenhouse construction, types and degree of damage due to natural disasters, pre-inspection in case of typhoon or heavy snow forecast, and fire-fighting facilities to prevent a fire. The findings were summarized as follows: as for greenhouse specification, the highest proportion of them were 90 m or longer both in single- and multi-span greenhouses in terms of length; 8 m or wider and 7.0~7.9 m in single- and multi-span greenhouses, respectively, in terms of width; 1.5~1.9 m and 2.0~2.9 m in single-and multi-span greenhouses, respectively, in terms of height; and 3.0~3.9 m and 6 m in single- and multi-span greenhouses, respectively, in terms of diameter. As for disaster-resistance greenhouses, farmers were reluctant to install such greenhouses. The low distribution of disaster-resistance greenhouses was attributed to the greenhouses built dependent on the old practice, the greenhouses already completed, and relatively high construction costs. As for damage by natural disasters, greenhouses were subject to more damage by typhoons than heavy snow. They mainly inspected the ceiling and side windows, entrances, and fixation bands for covering materials in case of typhoon forecast and the heating devices in case of heavy snow forecast. As for repair methods for greenhouse pipe corrosion, they preferred partial replacement to painting and did not use stiffeners for structures to prevent a natural disaster in most cases. As for the maintenance of greenhouse covering materials, most farmers inspected their sealing property but did not clean the coverings for light transmission. The destruction of structural materials can be prevented by eliminating greenhouse covering materials during a typhoon, but they were not able to do so because of the covering material replacement costs and the crops they were growing. The study also examined whether greenhouse farms had fire-fighting facilities to prevent a fire and found that they lacked the perception of greenhouse fire prevention to a great degree.

A Study on the Development of Smart Control Valve (스마트 컨트롤 밸브 개발에 관한 연구)

  • As Korea's low fertility and aging progress, Korea is facing a social change such as an increase of one generation by entering an aging society that has raised 14% of the population. An effective way to prevent a gas fire accident caused by an increase in one generation in an aging society is to install a control valve to forcibly shut off the gas after a set time. In this study, we developed a valve that can be opened and closed by rotating the valve left and right by transmitting power to the worm gear and the helical gear by using a motor by pressing the switch. It is easy to assemble and inspect by developing a dedicated valve that is easy to attach and detach. It was developed to enhance competitiveness by reducing cost by reducing the number of parts and product size. In addition, through endurance test, it was developed to be used for more than 9 years by repeating ON / OFF once every 12 seconds so that it can operate stably for 10,000 times for 34 hours. The instrument and PCB were designed using solid works and Altium Designer tools. Firmware development was developed in IAR Embedded Workbench environment.

Development of Embedded Board for Integrated Radiation Exposure Protection Fireman's Life-saving Alarm (일체형 방사선 피폭 방호 소방관 인명구조 경보기의 임베디드 보드 개발)

  • In this paper, we propose the development of embedded board for integrated radiation exposure protection fireman's life-saving alarm capable of location tracking and radiation measurement. The proposed techniques consist of signal processing unit, communication unit, power unit, main control unit. Signal processing units apply shielding design, noise reduction technology and electromagnetic wave subtraction technology. The communication unit is designed to communicate using the wifi method. In the main control unit, power consumption is reduced to a minimum, and a high performance system is formed through small, high density and low heat generation. The proposed techniques are equipment operated by exposure to poor conditions, such as disaster and fire sites, so they are designed and manufactured for external appearance considering waterproof and thermal endurance. The proposed techniques were tested by an authorized testing agency to determine the effectiveness of embedded board. The waterproof grade has achieved the IP67 rating, which can maintain stable performance even when flooded with water at the disaster site due to the nature of the fireman's equipment. The operating temperature was measured in the range of -10℃ to 50℃ to cope with a wide range of environmental changes at the disaster site. The battery life was measured to be available 144 hours after a single charge to cope with emergency disasters such as a collapse accident. The maximum communication distance, including the PCB, was measured to operate at 54.2 meters, a range wider than the existing 50 meters, at a straight line with the command-and-control vehicle in the event of a disaster. Therefore, the effectiveness of embedded board for embedded board for integrated radiation exposure protection fireman's life-saving alarm has been demonstrated.
