A Numerical Study on the Effects of the Smoke Exhaustion on Safe Evacuation in Emergency Situations during Fires on Ships

  • Sometimes, an evacuation should be executed from a ship for many reasons. This study considers on emergency evacuation on fire in a ship, one of the many reasons for evacuation. Due to the characteristic of fire, the most loss of life is known to be caused by suffocation resulted by smoke. To reduce the suffocation by smoke, the time available for evacuation should be improved for the higher survival rate of crews. In this study, crews' survival times and Evacuation time are analyzed quantitatively in during fire in the same sealed space in two different cases of the natural ventilation and the forced ventilation.

화염에 의한 ACSR 송전선의 기계적 특성에 관한 신뢰성 분석 (Reliance analysis for Mechanical characteristics of ACSR Transmission Line due to a Flame)

  • This paper deals with the experimental results that apply to a new wire by an artificial flame-maker because it's difficult to directly analyze the characteristic of deterioration by a forest fire. Those results include tension load, extension rate and torsion number for a conductor. In addition, there's been an experiment and analysis about the mechanical characteristics of the wire of ACSR $48mm^2$ which was removed from Pohang area by a forest fire. Then, the database will be made to predict the state of deteriorated wires by a forest fire using those two data, and data necessary to diagnose the life state of an ACSR wire affected by a forest fire will be given.

  • 본 연구에서는 EN 13823 기준을 적용한 시험방법인 SBI(Single Burning Item)을 이용하여 스티로폼 샌드위치패널의 화재특성에 대한 실험을 실시하였다. 현재 국내에서는 샌드위치패널 화재특성 평가방법으로 ISO 5660-1(콘칼로리미터 시험방법)과 KS F 2271(난연성시험)이 사용되고 있지만 이러한 시험방법들은 시험 스케일과 시험편 및 가열조건의 한계점 등을 보이고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 1세트를 3개로 하여 총 9개의 75mm 두께인 스티로폼 샌드위치 패널을 이용한 실험을 실시하였다. 이를 통해 공학적인 화재 물성 값인 FIGRA(FIre Growth RAte, kW/s), SMOGRA(SMOke Growth RAte, m2/s2)등을 측정하였다.

운전조건 변화에 따른 소방펌프 성능특성 연구 (A Study on the Performance Characteristic of a Fire Pump with Various Operating Conditions)

  • In order to develop a high efficiency fire pump, its performance characteristics with various operating conditions are investigated. The governing equations are derived from making using of three-dimensional Navier-Stokes equations with the standard ${\kappa}-{\varepsilon}$ turbulence model and SIMPLE algorithm. Using a commercial code, CFX, pressure distribution and flow fields in a fire pump are calculated with various ranges of rotating speed 800-2400 rpm. Particularly, calculations with multiple frames of reference method between the rotating and stationary parts of the domain are carried out. With the help of numerical results, correlation formula between the casing pressure and the efficiency is derived.

  • The Cable Transit has an adaptable center hole for accommodating a cable to be passed through the wall(bulkhead/deck). The Cable Transits Sealing System must have important character which seal and protect against fire, smoke, gas, water, etc and consist of natal frame, sealing system and the cable, insulation. In this paper, introduced our cable transit organic expansion sealing material system, fire-resistance test and test result, etc. We carry to fire-resistance test in according to FTP Code Part 3(IMO Res. A. 754(18)) for A-60 class cable transit and the test result for our cable transit sealing system was satisfied.

소방공무원의 개인, 직무 및 건강관리 특성이 근골격계질환과 직무스트레스에 미치는 영향 조사 (Investigation of Effect Musculoskeletal Symptoms and Job Stress on Personal, Job and Health Care Characteristic of Firefighter)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the effects of personal, job, and health care characteristics of firefighters on musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) and job stress. This survey was participated 591 firefighters in jeonnam and Busan city. The survey consisted of 1) personal, job, and health care characteristics measurement, 2) job stress measurement (KOSS, Korean Occupational Stress Scale), 3) musculoskeletal disorders symptoms mesurement. The analysis of the data was using SAS 9.1 Ver. The statistics analysis was performed the frequency, percentage, average, and standard deviation for each survey item. The Chi square analysis was performed to analyzed the effects of personal, job, and health care characteristics on MSDs and job stress. According to the results of the study on musculoskeletal disorders symptoms, 49.6% of the subjects perceived pain related to musculoskeletal diseases. The total score for job stress was 51.6 (SD 12.9), which was the highest 50% when compared to the Korean job stress standard (male). Age, department, work experience, working type, position, and sleeping time were found to affect musculoskeletal disorders and job stress.

반단선과 트래킹에 의한 복합적 전기화재의 위험성분석 연구 (Study on the Risk Analysis of Complex Electrical Fire by the Partial Disconnection and Tracking)

  • 본 논문은 반단선과 트래킹에 의한 복합적 전기화재의 위험성분석에 관한 연구이다. 먼저, 단일원인인 반단선에 의한 전기화재 위험성을 분석하기 위해 전선의 소선 수 및 정격전류의 변화에 따른 열적특성을 측정하였다. 또한, 그 후 복합적 원인에 의한 전기화재 위험성을 분석하기 위해 반단선 상태에서 추가적으로 가속트래킹 실험을 실시하여 반단선과 트래킹의 화재연관성을 확인하였다. 실험결과 반단선이 단일원인으로 작용할 때의 전류에 의해 발생된 기존 열적특성과 트래킹이 복합적으로 작용함으로써 전류가 크게 증가되어 열적특성이 더욱 뚜렷이 나타나 단일원인에서 발생되지 않았던 급격한 온도상승으로 인한 소선의 단선이 복합적 원인에서 나타났다. 즉, 기존의 반단선에 의한 전기화재 위험성보다 반단선과 트래킹이 복합적으로 작용될 경우 상대적으로 그 위험성이 크게 증가되는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

인공 화염으로 인한 가공 송전선의 기계적, 재료적 특성에 관한 연구 (A study on Mechanical and Material Characteristics of Overhead Transmission Lines due to an Artificial Flame)

  • Generally, the deterioration characteristics of a conductor affected by a forest fire can be analyzed through simulation of a forest fire and results of the simulation. However, there are little accomplishments of that kind of simulation applied to the power transmission, and there aren't actual analysis for a sample exposed in a forest fire. This paper deals with the experimental results that apply to a new wire by an artificial flame equipment because it's difficult to directly analyze the characteristic by a forest fire. Also, after an artificial flame is applied to a normal ACSR for various experimental conditions, changes of mechanical and material characteristics of the ACSR were analyzed by the surface inspection and load-tests of tensile of the ACSR. Then, the database will be made to made to predict the state of deteriorated wires by a forest fire using those two data, and data necessary to diagnose the life state of an ACSR wire affected by a forest fire will be given.

  • 본 논문에서는 대심도 지하철역사의 승강장 종류에 따라 화재시 연기의 전파특성을 비교하였다. 본 연구에서 비교 대상역사로서 상대식 승강장은 서울 숭실대입구역사(47m)로, 섬식은 부산 만덕지하역사(65m)를 선정하여 각 역사에 대하여 화재전산모사를 수행하였다. 해석을 통하여 화재의 연기전파특성을 파악하였으며, 그 결과를 이용하여 각 승강장 종류별로 대심도 지하역사의 방재대책을 세우고자 한다.
