  • Providing visual information about the fetus to the mother by the ultrasound examination was found to be an effective nursing intervention to promote Maternal-Fetal Attachment. In keeping with the purpose of the study, to evaluate the effect of providing visual information by ultrasound on level of Maternal-Fetal Attachment, a non-equivalent experimental group quasi-experimental design was used. The data were collected using Cranley's Maternal-Fetal Attachment Scale(1981) with a research questionnaire that consisted of 16 items on general characteristics and 23 items on Maternal-Fetal Attachment from November 2, 2000 to August 11, 2001. Subjects were 126 pregnant women who were received visual information by ultrasound and 123 pregnant women who did not receive visual information by ultrasound after finishing examination. The data were analyzed by using the SPSS/PC+ window 10.0 version program. The results of this study were as follows: There was no statistical difference in general characteristics between both groups. The scores on Maternal-Fetal Attachment at second trimester show no statistical difference (t=1.123, p=0.263). The scores on Maternal-Fetal Attachment in both groups increased between the second trimester and third trimester. However, the increase was greater in the group receiving visual information by ultrasound as compared to the group which did not receive the visual information(t=-2.152, p=0.032). This result shows that providing visual information about the fetus by the ultrasound examination is effective in increasing Maternal-Fetal Attachment.

  • For durability design to protect against chloride-induced corrosion, it is important to estimate the amount of chlorides on the surface. However, it is difficult to estimate the airborne chlorides, a boundary condition, due to the difference between the amount of chlorides attached to a surface of an actual structure and that in the air. Therefore, in this study the attachment rate analysis of airborne chlorides was evaluated for 13 types of finish materials. As a result, despite differences in the amount of airborne chlorides according to the finishing type, it was found that 60 percent of airborne chlorides were attached to mortar, 30 percent were attached to steel, and 25 percent were attached to tiles compared with the amount of chlorides in the air.

  • This study is purposed to provide new idea for developing high value added fashion goods by studying relief effects of fashion design. Based on prior researches, various ways to give relief effects were searched and then modern fashion design cases were looked for which were referred to fashion-related magazines and collection-related internet sites since the late 1990s. The ways for relief effects are weaving, industrial finishing, sewing technique. Weaving techniques are about fancy yarns, variation of weaving structure, pile weave. Industrial finishing techniques which can make relief effects are embossing, heat-setting, shearing, pliss, burn out, flocking. Sewing techniques are quilting, pleats, embroidery, slash, attachment in accordance with the way to produce relief effects. The forms of relief effects are tactile pattern that cannot be seen in the distance, subtle relief pattern which is more three-dimensional than tactile pattern, rhythmical relief pattern, sculptural pattern, and deep-volumed pattern. The present research can provide practical data for design by studying techniques of relief effects and collecting and arranging design cases that have been sporadically carried out. The study on relief and unique surface effects can be a way to effectively stimulate and express emotions of modern people with various taste and individuality.

  • The establishment of a practical ultra-precision grinding technique using Diamond and CBN wheels is one of the major key technolo-gies to improve production techniques for machine-to-difficult materials without finishing process such as lapping and polishing. But the special efficient dressing technique for ultra-fine grit type grinding wheels to stabilize the grinding ability was not developed. Recently electrolytic in-process dressing technique is proposed to ultra-fine grit type metal bonded diamond wheels to protrude abra-sives continuously from the tool surface. This technology can be widely used to surface grinding and cylindrical grinding but cannot be used efficiently to internal grinding because of the electrode attachment trouble. This paper describes the effect of interval type electrolytic dressing as proposed newly to cast iron bonded diamond wheel for efficient internal grinding with mirror type high quality ground surface.

  • Die making process is classified into design, manufacturing, polishing, assembly, and performance test. Die polishing is not a machining process by cutting edge of tool, but it is finishing by relative cutting movement under the surface contact between grinding particles and workpiece, and this process comprised 30~40% of total manufacturing hours. However, die polishing process is still performed by the skilled workers. Now a days, it is very difficult to secure skilled workers due to the hardworking environment and this situation will be getting worse in the future which has great difficulty of dies and molds industries. This process has the common problem on the elimination of tedious manual polishing among the tool making industries. Therefore this study is aimed at the development of an automatic polishing attachment which could be attached onthe spindle of CNC machine tool and controlled by the NC program data created by CAD/CAM system. As a result, this study will contribute the realization of automatic fine polishing process and improvement of quality level of dies and molds.

  • The purpose of this study was to present the plan for activation and rationalization of production of ladies' jacket and provide basic materials for improvement of the development of technologies in relation to the productivity improvement of ladies' jacket and the achievement of high quality product. For this purpose, this study attempted to investigate the present situation of jacket manufacturing process. The data is related with local ladies' jacket manufacturing companies in Seoul snd Kyonggi area. The results of this study are as follows. 1. 87.8% of the business firms responded that they acquired the productive process of jacket based on their own knowhow and 80.5% was aware of the need for the analysis of each process. The highest proportion of the business firms(65.9%) pointed out that the advantage of process analysis was the alleviation of the production time. 2. The jacket manufacturing process was made up of 4 stages such as the process of frontal/rear plate $\rightarrow$ the process of accessories $\rightarrow$ the process of completion $\rightarrow$ the process of finishing in a broad sense but composed of a total of 19 stages in detail. 3. Attachment of the sleeves(73.2), attachment of the collar(41.5%) and the formation of the overall silhouette(22.0%) were raised as the challenge in manufacturing ladies' jacket. 4. Most of the sewing business firms made use of the method of completing the collar and then stitching the outer material and the inner collar, and the line of the bodice and the outer collar as the method of stitching the tailored collar. and many of them used the method of completing the collar and then inserting it between the line of the bodice and the outer material and stitching it as the method of stitching the stand collar. They had a preference for the method of completing the sleeve and connecting it to the bodice as the method of stitching the sleeve. and used the method of treating the margin to seam of semi-lined and unlined jacket by treating it with the bias tape.

  • Silver nanoparticles(AgNPs) were attached to wool fibers using glycidyltrimethylammonium chloride(GTAC), which is a type of quaternary ammonium salt. GTAC, which contains an epoxy functional group that, under high temperatures, generates a ring-opening reaction with wool fibers, which contain the amine group. Then, the AgNPs are attached to the surface of the GTAC-treated wool fibers by treatment with a silver colloidal solution. The process involves the following procedures: (1) The wool fibers are immersed in the GTAC solution, followed by pre-drying at $80^{\circ}C$ and curing at $180^{\circ}C$ to induce an alteration in the chemical structure; and (2) The wool fibers treated with GTAC are immersed in the silver colloid at $40^{\circ}C$ for 120 min to chemically induce a strong attachment of the AgNPs to the wool fibers. Scanning electron microscopy was used to analyze the influence of the concentrations of GTAC and the silver colloid, as well as the influence of the applied temperature of the silver colloid on the wool fibers, and the influence of the morphological changes in the wool fiber surfaces. As a result, the enhanced concentrations of GTAC and the silver colloid together with an elevated applied temperature of silver colloid have a tendency to increase in Ag atomic%.
