  • Deburring is conducted using MAF(magnetic abrasive finishing) method. Magnetic inductor is designed and manufactured to generate proper magnetic induction far deburring the burr formed in drilling SM45C. Rotational speed, table feed rate, grain size of powder and working gap are changed to investigate the effect on deburring.

  • Chattering phenomenon is an abrupt relative vibration between the strip and rolls of rolling machine in working. It inevitably results from the progress of the degeneration in the mill facilities. This research was carried out in order to analyze the characteristic and find the cause of chatter mark in finishing mill and it was founded that major causes are facility character of driving part and special condition in case of excessive roll force.

  • Magnetic-electrolytic-abrasive polishing system(MEAPS) was developed for machining national standard electrode and its finishing characteristics was analyzed. The paper describes the operational principle of MEAP system by experimental results. The finishing characteristics and optimal finishing condition for national standard electrodes were experimented and analyzed. As a result, MEAPS can improve straightness as well as surface roughness.

  • Currently the technology of surface finishing is highly demanded in a wide range of industries. And many kinds of surface finishing technologies have been developed for each purpose. But it is still difficult to make a fine surface for the part which has three dimensional geometry. Now most of these kinds of complex parts are polished by hand by well skilled workers, This hand work process is inefficient and the production cost is high. Therefore it is desirable to develop a new finishing technology to solve problem In this study a new device was developed and tested in various test conditions.

연마 브러시 접촉력 산출 (Contact Force Estimation for a Polishing Brush)

  • A new contact force estimation technique is proposed. Keeping the contact force at a certain level between finishing tool and the object is essential since the quality of the finished surface is very sensitive to the contact force during the finishing process. However, the contact force measurement cannot be obtained by simply installing load cells under machine table or in the middle of tool linkage. The reason is that the weight of the machine table and the tool linkage are much heavier than the force to be measured. To that end, a method for estimating disturbance is proposed for a system that is similar to the mechanism of the finishing machine, and the same method is applied to estimate the contact force of the brush-type finishing machine. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed method, a small scale test set-up has been built and the method has been tested.

  • The charge-transfer(CT) complexes derived from various donors and acceptors were evaluated as coloring matter. Dyes absorbing light in the region from the visible to the near-infrared wavelengths were synthesized. In order to determine the molar ratio of the donor to the acceptor in the CT complex in the solution, the continuous variational method was applied to each system. A 1:1 correspondence between the donor and the acceptor molecules in the CT complex in the solution is established. Color development properties in paper were examined. The longer the exposure time at constant temperature, the deeper the strength of color in paper. The strength of color at high temperature was decreased, because sublimed CT dyes in paper were migrated out side of paper.

  • Mold-manufacturing process consists of machining and finishing process that are strongly related in each other. But there are few studies about mold-manufacturing process to control those two processes simultaneously. Especially, runout distorts the machined surface from expected so it changes the finishing process and mold-manufacturing time. In this work, basic analyses and experiments were carried out to study RVAS variation according to runout in HSM. To perform those analyses, firstly surface generation analysis was done including runout in ball end milling and then the RVAS that could relate machining and finishing process was proposed. And the optimal finishing process in HSM according to RVAS was also proposed. Through experiment runout occurrence and above analyses were verified.
