  • The water distribution system problem consists of finding a minimum cost system design subject to hydraulic and operation constraints. The design of new branchin network in a paddy irrigation system is presented here. The program based on the linear programming formulation is aimed at finding the optimal economical combination of two main factors : the capital cost of pipe network and the energy cost. Two loading conditions and booster pumps for design of pipe network are considered to obtain the least cost design.

  • In this paper, we introduce an iteration generated by countable nonexpansive mappings and prove a weak convergence theorem which is connected with the feasibility problem. This result is used to solve the problem of finding a solution of the countable convex inequality system and the problem of finding a common fixed point for a commuting countable family of nonexpansive mappings.

  • We introduce the notion of two-scale convergence for partial differential equations with random coefficients that gives a very efficient way of finding homogenized differential equations with random coefficients. For an application, we find the homogenized matrices for linear second order elliptic equations with random coefficients. We suggest a natural way of finding the two-scale limit of second order equations by considering the flux term.

  • In comparative genome analyses, synteny blocks play important roles for finding ortholog genes, reconstructing phylogenetic tree and predicting genome rearrangement events. In this paper, we propose a novel method to search biologically plausible synteny blocks not only from the viewpoint of finding highly preserved regions but also from the viewpoint of analyzing genome rearrangements. We have applied the method to our experiments on four fungal organisms, and succeeded to obtain some biologically interesting results.

  • To investigate the effects of trypsin inhibitors, aprotinin and urinary trypsin inhibitor (UTI), on the cute pancreatitis, this study was carried out in dogs of acute pancreatitis induced by oleic acid (0.28 mg/kg). Administration with aprotinin and UTI seemed to have a therapeutic effect on the clinical sign, ultrasonographic finding, histopathologic finding. But in amylase and lipase activity, there were no significant differences among three groups.

  • In this paper, we develop a new conceptual framework for finding new business opportunities in the cloud computing environment. We propose a service model framework for cloud computing business. In the service concept of the proposed business model, we categorize customer needs and service offering value, while we analyze customer behavior for developing revenue model. In addition, we analyze cloud computing market drivers for finding an evolution path of the proposed business model. Finally, we develop cloud computing business strategies for Korean IT service industry.

  • The purpose of this paper is to give some new iterative methods for finding a common zero of a finite family of monotone operators in Hilbert spaces. We also give the applications of the obtained result for the convex feasibility problem and constrained convex optimization problem in Hilbert spaces.

  • In this paper a direction finding method which can which can estimate the direction angles of source signals impinging on the sensor array in which sensor noises are correlated is studied. This method performs the estimation of source direction angles form sensors, regardless of sensor noise correlation, by eliminating the sensor noise correlation coefficient which can be accurately estimated. Finally, this paper shows, through the computer simulation, that the proposed, method is extremely useful and superior when there exists the noise correlation between sensors, .

  • A 24 channel L1 C/A-code GPS attitude-finding receiver is designed and implemented. The performance of developed receiver is evaluated under the various environments. The results show that the performances from land and maritime test are almost same in the calm lake. And it follows the expected performance derived from an analysis. It is expected that the developed receiver can be used in not only maritime applications but also land and air applications where the heading is required.
