In addition, this study examines the moderating role of SMEs' ages and the managers' experiences in the relationship between organizational capability and organizational learning on the SMEs financial performance. This study is a basic exploratory research conducted by using an empirical survey, i.e., sampling of the businessman (the owner) of family-business type SMEs cross-functional in the area of DIY. The study uses purposive sampling. The respondents are the SME businessmen from the various business sectors in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The number of respondents is 150. Hypothesis testing used SPSS program's moderation regression approach; validity and reliability testing used confirmatory factor analysis and Cronbach's alpha. The result of this study shows that organizational capability positively and significantly affects the financial performance. Also, organizational learning significantly affects the financial performance. The organization's age factor does not moderate the relationship between organizational capability and the financial performance, but it is significant on the organizational learning. The factor of manager's experience moderates insignificantly on the relationship between organizational capability and financial performance. However, it is significant to the organizational learning.

Most previous researches focused on the relationship between the characteristics of strategic alliances and alliance types. There are few empirical studies that focus on business performance data because it is difficult to collect data in container liner shipping companies. However, this research measures financial and non-financial performance differently compared with the previous researches focusing on the characteristics of strategic alliances and alliance types measurements. Research design, data, and methodology - The conceptual model for the study is based on the studies of Lim (2010), Chen & Zhen (2009), and Wang & Meng (2014). The model is built around the factors of characteristics of strategic alliances and business performance. Cost, marketing, and service factors are regarded as proxy for the characteristics of strategic alliances. The financial and non-financial performance are regarded as proxy for the performance of strategic alliances. First, the cost factor for alliances characteristics has a positively significant influence on the financial and non-financial performance of strategic alliances. The cost factor relationship between high and low performance group does not have a significant difference on the performance of strategic alliances. Second, the marketing factor of alliances characteristics has a positively significant influence on the financial and non-financial performance of strategic alliances. The high performance group's marketing factor has a great non-financial performance than low performance group, but the low performance group's marketing factor has a grater financial performance than high performance group factor does. Third, the service factor of alliances characteristics has a negative influence on the non-financial performance of strategic alliances. The high performance group's service factor has a great non-financial performance than low performance group. Based on the findings from this study, related implications and future avenues deserve to be discussed.

Purpose: Based on the resource-based view and the competitive advantage theory, the study views marketing capabilities (product, pricing, delivery/inventory, and promotional support) as sources of competitive advantage (differentiation advantage and low-cost advantage) and examines their impacts on competitive advantage, which in turn, will influence non-business and business performance. Research design, data and methodology: Data were collected from 149 representatives of franchising companies in South Korea and analyzed with SmartPLS 3.3.7. Results: First, promotional support and product have a significant impact on differentiation advantage. Second, pricing and promotional support have a significant impact on low-cost advantage. Third, differentiation advantage has an influence on non-financial and financial business performance. Fourth, low-cost advantage has an impact on non-financial performance but has no significant direct impact on financial performance. Fifth, non-financial performance is related to financial performance. Finally, the result of IPMA shows that importance and performance values of exogeneous variables are different depending on firm size. Conclusions: The findings suggest that franchisors should focus on different marketing capabilities depending on their strategic focus and objectives. Finally, the findings based on an IPMA suggest that small companies perceive low-cost advantage as important, while their counterparts do not. The demographic characteristics of a leader are important for small businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic. Several researchers have proven that demographic characteristics affect business success. Unfortunately, business success has only been analyzed from a financial perspective and has not been compared to the owner's interests perspective. This study examines business success from both perspectives. This study aims to analyze the demographic characteristics of small entrepreneurs and their impact on business success. Demographics consist of age, experience, education, and gender. Meanwhile, business success is seen from two perspectives: financial performance and the owner's interest. The study used an explanatory survey method. The number of samples is 155 entrepreneurs who are also the leaders of their businesses. The research was conducted in Bandung City, Indonesia, in 2021. The data was processed using descriptive statistics and multiple regression. The study results found that age only affects financial performance. Experience is proven to affect financial performance and the interests of the owner. Gender only affects the interests of the owner. This study concludes that in difficult times such as the COVID-19 pandemic, having young leaders who are experienced will make it easier to achieve business success.

This research has the purposes of analyzing and proving empirically, such as: To investigate the effect of good corporate governance (GCG) on financial performance at banks in Indonesia through the mediating role of corporate asset growth. Theoretically, the study's results were expected to enrich and complete the repertoire of understanding in the financial management area, specifically with those phenomena related to banking financial performance and factors which influenced it. The population of this research was a bank that had a Corporate Governance Perception Index (CGPI) rating from 2011 to 2020. The type of sampling used was saturated sampling; thus, the whole population is sample members. Current data analysis used SEM. GCG has a direct or indirect impact on banking financial performance, according to the findings of this study. Improved GCG results in increased public confidence, which is reflected in an increase in total assets, as well as improved banks' financial performance. As a result, it can be stated that corporate asset increase largely mitigated the impact of GCG on bank financial performance in Indonesia. Through this rapid growth from corporate assets, Bank can maximize the market expansion which is ultimately able to improve banking financial performance.
