A survey was conducted to investigate the attitudes of public officials related to food hygiene toward food safety. The official groups were divided into four sub-groups based on their area, agency, gender and age. Response of each group to the survey was statistically analysed. The survey's results showed that most of them (87.0%) were satisfied with a domestic level of food hygiene. But, some of then (29.8%) considered unsatisfactoryly on safety of the food they eat. Their response to food safety did not statistically significant between each group of area, agency and age but, in case of gender, female group showed stastically more negative attitude to food safety than male one (P<0.05). All groups chose residues of chemical substances such as pesticides and food additives as the most potential food risk factor followed by foodborne pathogens, heavy metals and animal drug residues. The results are not consistent with the scientific judgement. Therefore, more education and information were needed fro these groups. They pointed out food manufacturer as a responsible group for poor food hygiene (48.7%). In addition, food manufacture and processing were selected as main business types with the lowest level in the food hygiene but official, working in the area of the central government and Seoul metropolitan city, pointed out food services establishments as the poorest hygiene one (P<0.01). This results suggested that education and information to let mind of responded groups change, working in this part, and governmental financial support are needed to improve hygiene level of food manufacture and processing (70.3%). They also chose HACCP as the most effective way for improving the level of food hygiene followed by Recall, PL (Product Liability), monitoring, labeling and increasing of number of company with good manufacture and processing (GMP).
Contract Managed foodservice has been expanded rapidly in university foodservice operations. The purposes of this study were to examine customers and administrators' preference concerning operation format, the decision making components for operation format, and administrators' attitudes concerning contract managed and self-operated foodservice. Two types of questionnaires were developed and implemented. Customer and administrator's questionnaires were distributed to 900 university students and 27 administrators respectively, and 831 customers and 24 administrators were responded with a response rate of 92.3% and 88.8% respectively. Statistical data analysis was completed using the SPSS programs for descriptive analysis, $x^2$-test, ANOVA, and T-test. The results of this study can be summarized as follows 1. In deciding foodservice operation format, the components customers considered were the ability to provide variety of meal items, aesthetic and safe food(62.6%), the ability to provide a food with competetive low price(22.1%), and the ability to provide adequate service and nutrition information. On the contrary, the components administrators considered were the ability to provide variety of meal items, aesthetic and safe food(66.7%), the ability to relieve administrators of managerial burden of the foodservice operation(12.5%), and the ability to invest facility(8.3%). 2. The average score of attitude on contracted and self-operated management activities were 3.41, 3.10 respectively. University administrators evaluated that contractors performed financial management activities more effectively. 3. University administrators with contracted or self-operated foodservice favored their own current operation format.
The purposes of this study were to classify consumer types and to analyze purchase behavior depending on food safety attitudes related to the Fukushima nuclear accident. Based on the consumer survey data, factor analysis and cluster analysis were done to classify consumer types. Applying factor analysis, six factors with a total variance of 73.4% were extracted from 22 basic variables. The 6 factors were termed 'anxiety from ingesting agricultural and fishery products after the nuclear accident', 'importance of food safety when purchasing food', 'reduced rate of purchases of agricultural and fishery products after the accident', 'importance of food prices', 'socio-demographic characteristics' and 'family composition'. Using cluster analysis, consumers were classified into 5 types using the factor scores of 6 factors. The main results are as follows. For every consumer type, the anxiety about imported agricultural and fishery products was higher than that for domestic products after the nuclear accident. The food safety attitudes of consumers were mainly formed by the socio-demographic characteristics. Consumer types with high-education and high-income responded flexibly to the food safety concerning the accident; especially, the consumer type with a high-income and kids under 19 responded very reasonably to the accident. However, consumer types with a low-income and aged over 50 or less than 30 years were the least responsive to the accident, mainly due to financial restrictions. Thus, we suggest some food safety strategies and policy implications based on consumer type for food safety after the accident.
The purpose of this study was to explore the concepts of health among people with mobility disabilities in order to develop a new holistic model of health and to identify implications for social work practice. A qualitative study based on face-to-face interviews with people with mobility disabilities was conducted. Nine consumers and nine social workers with mobility disabilities participated in the study. Social constructionism, heuristic paradigm, empowerment paradigm, and strength perspectives were used to form conceptual foundations to guide the study. Study participants' holistic descriptions of the concept of health encompassed five domains: biological/physical, mental/emotional, financial, relationships with others, and spiritual. Participants described health as harmony among these five domains. Harmony indicates that all five domains contribute to the concept of health, and that each domain is related to the others. Participants also viewed disability and health as an interconnected whole, not separate concept. The conceptual model developed in this study expands on the existing concepts of health by considering multiple factors at the personal and environmental levels, as well as interactions among the factors and between the levels. The personal level has five domains: biological/physical, mental/emotional, spiritual, financial, and relationships with others. The environmental level has also five domains: relationship with others, financial, social programs, social attitudes toward peoplewith disabilities, and physical environment. All factors under the personal and environmental levels also affect each other. The holistic concept of health for people with disabilities is not solely a part of the person, but rather is a function of the interaction between the person and their environment. The study demonstrated that people with disabilities have strength and resiliency, and health is an attainable goal for them, particularly when environmental and cultural barriers are addressed. The focus of social work practice should be the removal of those barriers encountered by their consumers with disabilities, as well as, the enhancement of internal factors that facilitate well-being.
This study examines the effects of consumer socialization on Korean adolescent impulsive buying behavior. The current study used the third and sixth waves from the Korean Education and Employment Panel (KEEP) survey that has been administered by the Korea Research Institute for Vocational Education and Training since 2004. The subjects were high school juniors and university sophomores in 2006 and 2009, respectively. The final sample for panel regression analysis included 1,718 individuals. Two major agents of socialization (school and parents) were utilized in our model. Parent financial behavior (if the parents had savings) and the effectiveness/helpfulness of economics education in middle or high school were included in our estimation model. Two categories were included as individual factors: (1) psychological aspects and personal traits covering variables such as stress from self-image, academic stress, self-regulation, and a tendency of risky behavior and (2) financial behavior and attitudes, which include work experience, amount of money in hand, shopping habits, and if parental financial support is expected after high school graduation. The results from a random effects model revealed that the effects of consumer socialization through school was marginally significant, while through parents was not. Stress from self-image and the level of self-regulation were found to be significant. Neither risky behavior nor academic stress were a significant factor for impulsive buying behavior. The amount of money available in hand and shopping habits showed a significant influence. Implications for educators, parents and policy makers are identified.
Financial technology (FinTech) is an emerging financial service sector include innovations in financial literacy and investment, retail banking, education, and crypto-currencies like bitcoin. One of the crucial branch of financial technology-third-party payment (TPP) is undergoing rapid growth, with online/mobile systems replacing offline financial systems. System quality and user attitudes are key perceptions driving third-party payment usage, the importance of these perceptions, however, may be different with countries as users' thinking varies from country to country. Thus, the purpose of this study is to elaborate how factors differ from China to Korea by drawing on the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT2). Additionally, this study also aims to propose a multi-attribute evaluation of the third-party online payment system based on analytic hierarchy process (AHP), fuzzy sets and technique for order performance by similarity to ideal solution (TOPSIS), to examine the relative importance of the perceptions influencing new technology adoption intention. The results showed that the price value has the most significant influence on Chinese perceptions, while the perceived credibility has the most significant effect on Korean perceptions. Sub-criteria also performs different results to Chinese and Korean third-party online payment system.
This study investigated the perceptions toward the elderly of elementary school children in Incheon area. The subject of this study were 264 elementary school children in grade 2, 4, 6 and their mothers. Instruments included the inventory of the perceptions toward the elderly. The main results obtained from this study were as follows The degree of children's perceptions toward the elderly differed according to children's sex, age, birth order, mother and father's education, income of the family, religion and the attitudes of parents toward the elderly. Also the degree of children's perceptions toward the elderly differed according to whether grand parents are alive or not, whether they live together in the same household or not, the age of grand parents, their financial ability, health of grand parents.
The purpose of this study was to investigate various assects of late parenthood among Korean parents, including motivation, emotional response, advantages and disadvantages of late parenthood, intimacy, and effects on child. Subjects were IS mothers who gave birth after 35 years old for both mother and father. The study was conducted by means of a questionnaire and an in-depth interview. The most significant reason for late parenthood was found to be a son preference. brothers of the only could expressed very special emotional responses toward the child, compared to those who gave a birth to the second or the third child after 35. Respondents identified advantages and disadvantages of late parenthood in terms of child rare attitudes, maturity, financial conditions, and physical strength. However, most of the respondents would not recommend late parenthood to others. Directions for future research were given in terms of subjects of study, such as parents from rural area, working class, and wide range of ages.

The study aims to explore the use of metadiscourse in the Bank Negara Malaysia Governor's speeches based on Hyland's Interpersonal Model of Metadiscourse. The corpus data consist of 343 speech texts, which were extracted from the Malaysian Corpus of Financial English (MacFE), amounting to 688,778 tokens. Adopting both quantitative and qualitative approaches to data analysis the study investigates (1) the overall use of metadiscourse in the Bank Negara Governor's speech texts and (2) the functions of the most prominent metadiscourse resources used and their functions in the speech texts. The findings reveal that the Governor's speech texts to be interactional rather than interactive, revealing a rich distribution of interactional metadiscourse resources, namely engagement markers, self-mention, hedges, boosters and attitude markers throughout the texts. The interactional metadiscourse resources function to establish speaker-audience engagement and alignment of views, as well as to express degree of uncertainty and certainty and attitudes. The study concludes that the speech texts are not merely informational or propositional, but rather interpersonal.
