유기발광다이오드(OLED) 소재 제조 현장 여과 설비사용 위험성 및 개선 방안 연구 (A study on the Risks of Using Filtration Facilities at the Organic Light Emitting Diode(OLED) and Its Preventive Measures)

  • OLED 소재 시장의 규모는 2019년 11억 달러에서 2023년 23억 달러로 연평균 19% 이상 지속적인 성장이 예상된다. OLED 소재 제조사에서 주로 사용하고 있는 설비 중 여과 설비는 사용 시 화재, 폭발, 누출 등의 사고들이 빈번히 발생하고 있어, 이에 대한 여과 설비사용 시의 위험성 개선이 요구된다. 해당 연구에서는 여과 설비사용에 따른 위험성을 도출하기 위해 주요공정 즉 조립 및 분해공정, 여과공정, wet cake 회수공정, 세척공정의 4가지로 나누어 사고사례조사, 사전인터뷰, 설문조사 등을 실시하여 유해 위험 요인을 도출하였다. 설문 결과의 분석은 SPSS 21을 이용하여 빈도분석, Pearson 카이제곱 검정 분석을 수행하여 분석된 결과를 활용하여 위험성 개선 방안들을 제시하였다. 이 연구가 OLED 시장 규모가 확대됨에 따라 발생할 수 있는 안전 및 위험 요인들을 다루는데 기초자료가 될 것으로 기대한다.

PFC 제염 시 발생된 PFC 폐액의 재사용을 위한 여과장치 개발 및 성능평가 (Development and Performance Evaluation of a Filtration Equipment to Reuse PFC Waste Solution Generated on PFC Decontamination)

  • PFC 제염기술은 원자력연구시설 핫셀 내부의 바닥이나 장치표면에 부착된 고방사능분진을 제거하기 위한 방법 중의 하나이다. 고가의 PFC 제염용액을 회수 정제후 재사용하고, 2차폐기물발생을 획기적으로 줄일 수 있는 여과장치를 개발하였다. PFC 매질 내 현탁성 방사성입자를 제거하기 위해 오염특성에 적합한 여과장치를 개발하고 입자제거 성능평가시험을 수행하였다. 개발된 PFC 여과장치는 핫셀 내부로 들어갈 수 있게 알맞은 크기와 무게로 제작되었으며 바퀴와 고리를 부착하여 이동이 용이하다. PFC 여과장치의 성능평가결과 모의입자의 농도 증가 시 flux가 감소하였고, Pre-filter($1.4{\mu}m$)와 final-filter($0.2{\mu}m$) 두개를 장착하여 여과시간에 따른 flux의 감소를 개선하였다. 개발된 PFC 여과장치는 분당 약 0.2L의 PFC 폐액을 처리 할 수 있다.

  • The water resource depending on mostly surface water has many problems, such as contaminated and unpredicted contamination event. For this reason, it has been employed highly technical treatment method for them, such as ground water dam and river bank filtration. it has been developed the radial collector wells in kind of bank filtration to increase efficiency for in-taking the water resource insead of the vertical well needed many wells to take more resource. But it has many problems with the incumbent method to bore the horizontal hole for radial collector wells, such as filling with the filter material outside of a strainer by watering, jamming as retrieving the casing tube with the filter material, eccentric boring etc. To reduce the problems of incumbent equipment, it has been developed the horizontal boring equipment and performed the field trial tests several times, which have bits and water jetting system with rotating the cone-shaped front to be excavated easily. In this paper, it was compared the brand-new with the incumbent non-rotating pressing insertion method. Also it was shown the problems of the incumbent method was reduced effectively.

SWRO 전처리 공정에 적용된 DABF 내 Ball Media Filter 성능 평가 (Performance Evaluation of Ball Media Filter in DABF applied to SWRO pretreatment process)

  • DABF(Dissolve Air Flotation with Ball Filter) is developed as the DAF with the addition of a fiber ball at the lower part of the DAF. The DABF with a capacity of 4,500 ㎥/h was constructed at Gijang SWRO plant in Busan. Since the ball filter has high filtration rate, the loading rate of DABF was designed from 20 to 42 ㎥/h/㎡. When one DABF basin is in the back washing mode, the loading rate of other two DABF basins is increased to 42 ㎥/h/㎡. Turbidity at the BF outlet in DABF is <2 NTU at turbidity of 5-10 NTU at the BF inlet. If there is no algae bloom and turbidity is low in raw seawater, only BF in DABF is operated and meets <2 NTU at the BF outlet. Even if BF is operated at high hydraulic loading rates, no significant differential pressure increases and reduction in the turbidity removal rate is minimal in a day. Thus, DABF is the pre-treatment technology that provides stable water quality even with BF onlyoperation without DAF operation. Compared with the DAF, DABF requires additional facilities such as valves, piping, and drainage systems for backwashing the BF. But in terms of footprint and operating costs, DABF has more advantages than DAF. With DABF application, the load of the downstream filtration equipment is decreased so that the capacity of the filtration equipment can be reduced. Also, if the downstream filtration equipment is to be maintained the same regardless of DABF, the operating cost of DABF is less than DAF.

  • Many other countries have investigated the new backwash water treatment process to save the existing water resource. There are various methods for reusing backwash water, but the membrane system has received the most interest for its efficiency. The objective of this study was to certify the application of membrane filtration system for the backwash water treatment. The experiment equipment was composed of Lab scale tubular membrane filtration system. Generally, cross-flow operation mode is used in the tubular membrane system but cross-flow operation mode demands high electric cost mainly for the pump energy. So to cut off electric cost, dead-end operation mode was used in this experiment. Filtration and bleed operation cycle was used in this membrane system. Backwash water was concentrated during the filtration process and when backwash water reached our target suspended solid concentration, it was discharged from this system. For efficient operation of filtration and bleed, mathematical matrix was drawn up and with this matrix we could simulate various sets of filtration and bleed time.

은나노입자에 대한 방진마스크 포집효율 및 총누설율 (Filtration efficiency and Manikin-based Total Inward Leakage Study of Particle Filtering Mask Challenged with Silver Nanoparticles)

  • Objectives: The production and use of nanoparticles have been increased. In 2014 Workplace Survey Results, 335 companies produce and treat nanoparticls. However, lack of data on nano-toxicity and a method for risk management and regulation on nanoparticles and the standard test method are not sufficient. Protective equipment selection guidelines for nanoparticles are not established. It is required to carry out respirator efficiency test against nanoparticles. This study was performed to evaluate filtration efficiency and manikin-based total inward leakage of particle filtering mask using in Korean country challenged with silver nanoparticles. Methods: We investigated filtration efficiency and total inward leakage of 7 respirator with silver nanoparticle. Results: The geometric mean diameters of Silver nanoparticles were 30 nm and number concentration were about $10^6{\sharp}/cm^3$. Filtration efficiency of six of the seven particle filtering masks was more than 98% and one particle filtering masks filtration efficiency was 94.9%. The filtration efficiency of particle filtering masks to 20 nm silver nanoparticels was highest. Artificial breathing machine with manikin based total inward leakage were 7.6% ~ 42.3%. Conclusions: The results of this study nano-silver filter efficiency was high but the total inward leakage was higher than filter penetration. Therefore, education on how to wear a respirator should be demanded. Especially for workers handling nanoparticles and toxic material, user seal checking and fit test must be performed.

유압시스템 롤-오프 청정도의 이론적 고찰 및 트랙터에의 응용 (A Theoretical Investigation of Roll-Off Cleanliness for Hydraulic System and Application to a Tractor)

  • This study theoretically investigated the roll-off cleanliness operation to eliminate the built-in contaminants which are primarily the result of manufacturing and assembly procedures first. A rigorous analytical examination of the cleaning process associated with hydraulic systems was performed by developing the general filtration process equations. The sloughing process by which built-in contaminant is entrained in the system fluid was examined during the development of a general analytical expression for sloughing rate. This sloughing rate expression in conjunction with the filtration process equations have lead to a relationship rate expression in conjunction with the filtration process equations have lead to a relationship which describes the flushing and clean-up operation for the hydraulic systems. The effects of the primary roll-off cleanliness factors was discussed and illustrated on the figures. Then, the analytical results was shown to be usefully applied into the design of roll-off flushing equipment for the hydraulic system of a tractor.

  • It is applied in the high quality equipment construction by introduction of this high duality treating technology (ozone treating, activated carbon treating, high quality oxidation treating, UV treating etc.)waterproofing or corrosion proof method caused secondary economy damage of operation discontinuance and high quality treating equipment for applying existent waterproofing method that corrosion proof ability (ozone resistance performance, chemical resistance etc.) and abrasion resistance performance by comprehension insufficiency of user and designer. Therefor, In this study, we will analyze problem of waterproofing and corrosion material of existing construction application by high quality treating, and measure physical performance change by various condition. It is required to waterproofing and corrosion system and application of the field valuation.

개 희석 정액의 다양한 filtration 처리 후 정자평가 (Evaluation of Extended Canine Semen after Different Filtration Treatment)

  • It is important to obtain semen with good quality for efficient fertilization and pregnancy. To obtain these semen, various methods have been developed but most of these methods are time consuming and require costly equipment. Therefore, the objective of this research is to investigate the usability of column filtration system as quick and simple method to get sperm with better quality. Ejaculates were obtained from 5 dogs and analyzed with basic quality parameters before each filtration. Sperm concentration was adjusted to $5{\times}10^7/ml$ after dilution. The experimental groups were divided into non-filtered group(control) and filtered groups(glass wool, Sephadex 5% and Sephadex 20%). Ejaculates were filtered through each filter system and assessed by recovery rate of sperm, motility, normal morphology, CFDA/PI stain and plasma membrane integrity(hypo-osmotic swelling test, HOST). The lowest recovery rate of spermatozoa was recorded in glass wool filtration group, followed by 20% Sephadex filtration group(p<0.05). There was no significant difference between control(non-filtered) and 5% Sephadex filtration poop. Also, there was no significant difference of sperm motility assessed under light microscope among experimental groups. Morphological normality of canine spermatozoa was the highest in the glass wool filtration group and the lowest in the 5% Sephadex filtration group with no significant differences versus 20% Sephadex filtration and control group, respectively(p<0.05). Viability of canine sperm assessed by CFCA/PI staining was the highest in the glass wool filtration poop with no significant difference versus the control group, and the lowest in the 20% Sephadex filtration group with no significant difference versus 5% Sephadex filtration group, respectively(p<0.05). HOS values of canine sperm was the highest in the 20% Sephadex filtration group with no significant difference versus 5% Sephadex filtration group, and the lowest in the control poop with no significant difference versus glass wool filtration group, respectively(p<0.05). Therefore, these results indicated that filtration treatment for extended canine sperm would be useful method to get sperm with better quality by trapping the damaged sperm, consequently filter would be physical barrier against injured or immotile sperm.

Particle Filtration Efficiency Testing of Sterilization Wrap Masks

  • Objectives: Non-traditional materials are used for mask construction to address personal protective equipment shortages during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. Reusable masks made from surgical sterilization wrap represent such an innovative approach with social media frequently referring to them as "N95 alternatives." This material was tested for particle filtration efficiency and breathability to clarify what role they might have in infection prevention and control. Methods: A heavyweight, double layer sterilization wrap was tested when new and after 2, 4, 6, and 10 autoclave sterilizing cycles and compared with an approved N95 respirator and a surgical mask via testing procedures using a sodium chloride aerosol for N95 efficiency testing similar to 42 CFR 84.181. Pressure testing to indicate breathability was also conducted. Results: The particle filtration efficiency for the sterilization wrap ranged between 58% to 66%, with similar performance when new and after sterilizing cycles. The N95 respirator and surgical mask performed at 95% and 68% respectively. Pressure drops for the sterilization wrap, N95 and surgical mask were 10.4 mmH2O, 5.9 mmH2O, and 5.1 mmH2O, respectively, well below the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health limits of 35 mmH2O during initial inhalation and 25 mmH2O during initial exhalation. Conclusions: The sterilization wrap's particle filtration efficiency is much lower than a N95 respirator, but falls within the range of a surgical mask, with acceptable breathability. Performance testing of non-traditional mask materials is crucial to determine potential protection efficacy and for correcting misinterpretation propagated through popular media.
