  • In this paper, it study about the image filter applied the hybrid fuzzy membership function to the neuro-fuzzy system. Here, this system applys the genetic algorithm in order to obtain the optimal image as the iteration carry for making the data value in the error. It is removed the included noise in an image using the proposed image filter and compared the proposed image filter performance with the other filters using MATLAB. And it is found that the proposed filter performance is superior to the other filters which has the similar structure through the images. To show the superior ability, it is compared with MSE and SNR for images.

  • A novel and compact elliptic-function bandpass filter is proposed in this letter. The techniques of slot etching and the addition of open stubs are applied to enhance the self-inductance and self-capacitance of hexagonal open-loop resonators. Thus, size reduction and improved transmission performance are obtained. Compared to the performance of the conventional design, the central frequency and insertion loss are reduced by 28% and 3.1 dB, respectively. Measurements show that the proposed filter has a fraction bandwidth of 23% at the central frequency of 1.84 GHz, and its insertion loss in the passband is less than -1.5 dB. The bandpass filter occupies only 12 mm${\times}$21.2 mm (approximately $0.24{\lambda}_g{\times}0.14{\lambda}_g$).

  • A multilayer two-stage bandpass filter using dissimilar low-temperature cofired-ceramic (LTCC) materials is proposed in this paper. The proposed bandpass filter is composed of ceramic substrates with different dielectric constant instead of single ceramic material from top to bottom layer. Inductive elements are designed in a low permittivity ceramic layer to reduce parasitic effects and loss, while capacitive elements are designed in a high pertimitivity ceramic layer for size reduction. The center frequency of the proposed filter is 1.842 GHz, and the performance of the filter is analyzed and compared with the conventional LTCC filter with single material in terms of integration density, size reduction, and performance improvement.

  • This paper describes a low-cost single-phase active power filter, which consists of a half-bridge PWM inverter with a simple control circuit. In order to verify the performance of proposed active power filter, many computer simulations with EMTP codes and experimental works with a hardware prototype were done. Both results confirm that the proposed active power filter shows excellent performance to eliminate the harmonics generated in the single-phase non-linear load. The active power filter has advantage of low implementation cost and compact size, using a half-bridge inverter and a simple control circuit with only one current sensor. So, it can be fabricated as a plug-in type. This paper shows the necessity and a good possibility to apply such advantage to the electric railway system.

  • In this paper, a new robust deadbeat minimax FIR filter (DMFF) is proposed for continuous-time state space signal models. Linearity, deadbeat property, FIR structure, and independence of the initial state information will be required in advance, in addition to a performance index of the worst case gain between the disturbance and the current estimation error. The proposed DMFF is obtained by directly minimizing a performance index with the deadbeat constraint. The proposed DMFF is represented first in a standard FIR form and then in an iterative form. The DMFF will be shown to be used also for the IIR structure. It is shown that the DMFF is similar in form to the existing receding horizon unbiased FIR filter (RHUFF) with some noise covariances. The former is a deterministic filter, while the latter is a stochastic filter.

  • The design method of H$\infty$ filter for discrete-time uncertain linear systems with multiple state delays is investigated. The uncertain parameters are assumed to be unknown but belonging to known convex compact set of polytope type less conservative than norm bounded parameter uncertainty. The modified H$\infty$ performance measure is introduced to consider the initial states values which affect the performance of filter. The objective is to design a stable H$\infty$ filter guaranteeing asymptotic stability of filtering error dynamics and minimizing H$\infty$ norm bound. The sufficient condition for the existence of filter and the filter design method are established by LMI (linear matrix inequality) approach.

  • In recent European telecommunication base transceiver stations(BTS) a membrane laminated air filter is reported to replace a heat exchanger in order to cool internal digital units of BTS. The concept of using the air filter is for the direct ambient cooling(DAC) of BTSs without heat loss generally found ill the heat exchanger type BTS. In the present study, a performance evaluation experiment was conducted to investigate the pressure drop characteristics with dust loading and the particle collection efficiency of the air filter for the DAC of BTS.

  • We propose a mechanical parameter estimation algorithm for surface-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motors (SPMSMs) using a sliding-mode observer (SMO) and an adaptive filter. The SMO estimates system disturbances in real time, which contain the information on mechanical parameters. A desirable feature that distinguishes the proposed estimation algorithm from other existing mechanical parameter estimators is that the adaptive filter estimates electromagnetic torque to improve the estimation performance. Moreover, the SMO acts as a low-pass filter to suppress the chattering effect, which enables the smooth output signals of the SMO. We verify the mechanical parameter estimation performance for SPMSM by conducting extensive experiments for the proposed algorithm.

  • Digital images and videos are subject to various types of noise during storage and transmission. Among these noises, Salt & Pepper noise degrades the compression efficiency of the original data and causing deterioration of performance in edge detection or segmentation used in an image processing method. In order to mitigate this noise, there are many filters such as Median Filter, Weighted Median Filter, Center Weighted Median Filter, Switching Weighted Median Filter and Adaptive Median Filter. However these methods are inferior in performance at high noise density. In this paper we propose a new type of filter for noise mitigation in wireless communication environment where Salt & Pepper noise occurs. The proposed filter detects the location of the damaged pixel by Salt & Pepper noise detection and mitigates the noise by using adjacent pixel values which are not damaged in a certain area. Among the proposed filters, the performance of the filter using the $3{\times}3$ error mask is compared with that of the conventional methods and it is confirmed that when density of noise in the image is 95%, their performances are improved as 13.24 dB compared to MF and 13.09 dB compared to AMF.

  • This study investigates the design, analysis, and implementation of the square-root extended Kalman filter by using an algorithm derived by combining the Potter or Carlson algorithm with the modified Gram-Schmidt algorithm, for sensorless speed control of a permanent-magnet synchronous motor. The sensitivity of the Kalman filter to round-off errors is a well-known problem. A possible way to address this limitation is by combining the square-root concept and Kalman filter that can improve the numerical performance and solve instability-related problems such as divergence. This paper presents the design and analysis of the implementation of such a square-root extended Kalman filter. To demonstrate the performance of the proposed filter, experimental results under several operating conditions, such as high and low speeds, reversal rotation, detuned parameters and load test, have been analyzed. Further, code sizes and operation times have been compared. Experimental results establish the performance of the proposed square-root extended Kalman filter-based estimation technique for sensorless speed control of a permanent-magnet synchronous motor.
