Kalman Filter Based Optimal Controllers in Free Space Optics Communication

  • There is no doubt that adaptive optics (AO) is the most promising method to compensate wavefront disturbance in free space optics communication (FSO). In order to improve the performance of the AO system described by discrete-time linear system model with time-delay and implicit phase turbulent model, new controllers based on a Kalman filter and its extensions are proposed. Based on the standard Kalman filter, we propose a fading memory filter to deal with the ruleless strong interference; sequential and U-D filters are applied to reduce implementation complexity for the embedded controllers. Theoretical analysis and the numerical simulations show that the proposed fading memory filter can upgrade the performance for AO systems in consideration of the unforeseen strong pulse interference, and the sequential and U-D filters perform well compared with a Kalman filter.

네트웍 반향제거기의 성능 향상 (Performance Improvement of the Network Echo Canceller)

  • In this paper, an improved network echo canceller is proposed. The proposed echo canceller is based on the LTJ(lattice transversal joint) adaptive filter which uses informations from the speech decoder. In the proposed implementation method of the network echo canceller, the filer coefficients of the transversal filter part in the LTJ adaptive filter is updated every other sample instead of every sample. So its complexity can be lower than that of the transversal filter. And the echo cancellation rate can be improved by residual echo cancellation using the lattice predictor whose order is less than 10. Computational complexity of the proposed echo canceller is lower than that of the transversal filter but the convergence speed is faster than that of the transversal filter. The performance improvement of the proposed echo canceller was verified by the experiments using the real speech signal and speech coder.

적외선 영상의 Salt-Pepper 잡음제거를 위한 적응 비선형 필터 (Adaptive Nonlinear Filter for Removal of Salt-Pepper Noise in Infrared Image)

  • In this paper, detection based - adaptive windowed nonlinear filter(DB-AWNF) is proposed for removing salt-pepper noise in infrared image. This filter is composed of impulse detector and window-size-variable median filters. Impulse detector checks whether current pixel is impulse or not using range function and nonlinear location estimator. If impulse is detected, current pixel is filtered according to four kinds of local masks by use of median filter. If not, current pixel is delivered to output like identity filter. In Qualitative view, the proposed could have removed heavy corrupted noise up to 30% and reserved the details of image. In quantitative view, PSNR was measured. The proposed could have about 12-31[dB] more improved performance than those of median $(3{\times}3)$ filter and 13-29[dB] more improved performance than those of median $(5{\times}5)$ filter.

  • This paper propose a two pole phase compensated titer to remove baseline wandering and preserve ST-segment accuracy in real time environment. Bilinear transformed null phase filter(ideal filter), Standard FIR filter and Cubic spline filter are evalauated in the same condition. The proposed phase compensated filter shows better performance than standard filter in real ECG test and triangular pulse test.

공조설비의 필터차압 변화에 따른 에너지 소비성능 평가 (Evaluation of Energy Consumption of HVAC System for Air Filter Pressure Difference Change in Commercial Buildings)

  • Air handling unit (AHU)'s air filter pressure difference is important for energy consumption and indoor air quality. Both energy Performance data and air filter differential pressure of AHU in real office buildings were monitored and analyzed to investigate quantitatively energy impact as dust buildup level on air filter grows. We also modeled and simulated CAV system using HVACSIM+ program to examine the energy effect of dust buildup on filters. Through analysis of time series pressure drop data, the filter pressure difference rate has been increased due to cumulative supply air flow rate increase. As filter pressure drop increased to 1 inch water column, it is found that the supply air flow rate was decreased by 10%, the chilled water flow rate was increased by 5.9% and the pump energy consumption was increased to 5.9%.

디젤기관의 성능과 배기관 특성에 의한 필터트랩의 열재생에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on Thermal Regeneration of Filter Trap by Diesel Engine Performance and Characteristics of Exhaust Pipe)

  • The exhaust emissions from diesel vehicle are known to be harmful to human health and environment. Recently, one of the most environment problems is particulate matter. In this study, through the actual exper iment and heat transfer of exhaust pipe in light duty diesel engine equipped with the ceramic filter trap of throttling type, following results are obtained. 1. In case of light duty diesel engine equipped with ceramic filter trap of throttling type, Power and torque of engine were decreased about 5%, compared with the case without trap system. It means that was not so much effect on base engine performance.2. If the length of exhaust pipe when equipping with ceramic filter trap is suitably controlled, the range of regeneration will be expand much more.3. Particulate matter reduction efficiency of ceramic filter trap system was about 70%-80%, so it was proved a good system to reduce particulate matter.In experiment, test was conducted to estimate engine emission in 2,476cc light duty diesel engine which was equipped with ceramic filter trap.

  • The object of this paper is to develop optimal optical filter, which can be used to identify the financial account and read the information. The five factors which affect the performance of the optical filter are identified as optical glass type, existence of Fe, Photo pic coating type, and coating form. In this study we seek to determine the optimal combination for the best design of the optical filter. For each combination, the performances of optical filter are investigated using the proper experimental equipments and methods. White-state voltage, black-state voltage, and black-state error rate are used for the performance measures. Through the statistical analysis of the performance data collected, we have determined the optimal design of the optical filter.

  • 본 논문에서는 적응 2차 볼테라 필터를 효율적으로 구현할 수 있는 새로운 방법을 제안한다. 연산량 감소를 위해 제안된 UCFD-SVF는 수렴 성능이 저하되는 단점이 있다. UCFD-SVF의 적응 필터 계수가 적응이 진행되면서 그 에너지가 급격하게 증가하지 않는다는 점을 이용하여 적응 필터 계수를 주기적으로 초기화는 방법을 제안하였다. 또한 일정한 수렴 성능을 보장하기 위해 가변적인 간격으로 적응 필터 계수를 초기화하는 방법을 제안하였고, 비정상 환경에서 우수한 수렴 특성을 가짐을 적응 시스템 확인 응용을 위한 컴퓨터 모의 실험을 통해 보였다.

  • INS/GPS 통합 항법 필터는 주로 칼만 필터를 이용하여 구성되고 있다. 그러나 낮은 성능의 관성 센서를 이용한 INS/GPS 통합 항법 필터의 경우 센서 오차 레벨 등의 문제로 인해 정확한 방위각 정보의 제공이 곤란하며, 이로 인해 통합 필터를 구성하는 칼만 필터의 추정 성능이나 안정성을 보장할 수 없게 된다. 본 논문에서는 칼만 필터와 파티클 필터의 결합된 형태의 국지선형 파티클 필터를 이용하여 초기 방위각 오차를 극복할 수 있는 방법을 제시하였다.

고안정 전류제어 전원장치 (A Highly Stable Current-Controlled Power Supply)

  • A design of a highly stable current-controlled power supply combining the phase-controlled rectifier (PCR), passive filter and active filter is investigated. A digital phase-looked voltage control (PLVC) with a capability of compensating the thyristor firing angles under unvalanced power source is proposed` otherwise the PCR output voltage has low-order subharmonics whose suppression requires a bulky passive filter. The digital PLVC has a fast dynamic characteristics as an inner control loop of the PCR. To suppress further the output ripple, an active filter using a transformer is introduced and its design is described through the frequency domain analysis. An optimal integral, proportional and measurable variable feedback (IPM) controller is designed using the time-weighted performance index based on the time domain analysis. The design method based on the time-weighted performance index gives better response characteristics than that based on the conventional performance index. It is also shown via experimental results that the proposed scheme gives better response characteristics than that based on the conventional performance index. It is also shown via experimental results that the proposed scheme gives good dynamic and static performances.
