In this paper, I propose that the figurative structure of Tongjoo Yoon′s "One Night, Counting the Stars" reflects the poet′s anguish over the colonial reality of Korea in the later stages of the Japanese occupation, especially regarding the forced adoption of Japanese names in 1939. The poet Yoon himself registered at Yonhi College with an adopted Japanese name. In the second half of the poem, the speaker alludes to this historical fact when he confesses that "On a hill lit by myriads of stars / I spelled my name / And covered it over with dirt," and that he "laments (his) shameful name." In the simile of the last stanza, the speaker continues to allude to the "buried" name: "But past winter, come spring to my star, / As green grass sprouts on a grave mound, / So will it spread with pride / On the hill where my name is buried." The longing and the yearning, expressed so simply and in child-like manner in the first half of the poem, become in the second half an urgent need for something that should have been but cannot be, and yet will be in the future-for a world that should be, now lost but to be regained. The poem contains the poet′s earnest belief that the inherited Korean names that were then so shamefully taken away will one day be recovered. It is almost impossible to find any other work written in Korean (despite the most suppressive measures against the use of the Korean language) that also alludes to the adoption of Japanese names. In this respect, "One Night, Counting the Stars" has a unique value in the history of modem Korean literature.

In Malaysia, figurative painting has increasingly become a means for artists to pose questions about presumptions of power and assumptions of history. The body, its potentially breached boundaries and defenses, forms an integral component of the battle for political influence. The degree of control over one's own and other people's bodies has become a measuring stick to determine the power of potential political leaders. Anxiety about boundaries and access to powerful bodies is intertwined with the questions of who has the right to hold power; the relevance of moral bodies and of what comprises an ideal self or selves. These questions are raised in intriguing ways in contemporary Malaysian art. While eschewing a direct take on current politics, Malaysian artists have increasingly turned to the body to address issues in Malaysian history, culture and the distribution of power. This paper will explore some works by three artists in particular, Wong Hoy Cheong, Nadiah Bamadhaj and Ahmad Fuad Osman use the figure to problematise dominant narratives in Malaysian history. Their work variously challenge political, racial and gender hierarchies and in so doing, reveal them as social constructions.

게임에서 괴물의 독특한 이미지와 사람들이 가지는 미지 사물에 대한 호기심 때문에 게이머들은 평범한 일상생활에서 벗어나 가상의 공간에서 게임의 새로운 세상을 탐구하게 한다. 게이머들은 현실 세계에 없는 괴물 캐릭터와 상대하면서 즐거움과 신선함을 느끼고, 이러한 독특한 캐릭터들은 게이머들에게 인기가 많다. 현재까지 게임 괴물 캐릭터에 대한 연구는 아직 미흡하다고 사료되어진다, 또한 현재 많은 게임캐릭터들 중에 괴물 캐릭터디자인을 단순한 조형적 디자인에 제한하여 단순디자인을 하는, 조형적 단순함을 표현한 괴물 캐릭터 디자인들이 주를 이루고 있다고 사료된다. 괴물캐릭터의 융복합 디자인을 다방면으로 분석하여 괴물캐릭터의 디자인에 조형적 적용사려를 적용하고자 한다. 본 연구는 전통적인 괴물 캐릭터 이미지를 바탕으로 괴물 이미지의 접목 방식을 다방면으로 연구하고자 한다.

현대의 도자 조형은 순수 조형사고에 의해 보다 신선하고 개성적인 조형물의 개념으로 넓게 확장되어가고 있으며 다양한 요구에 의해 개성과 취향을 만족시킬 수 있는 디자인 개발이 이루어지고 있다. 이에 따라 본 연구에서는 우리의 생활전반에 정서적인 기여를 할 수 있는 조형물을 제시하고자 입체주의의 표현양상을 도입하는 과정에서 주어진 대상을 복수시점으로 감지하고도 2차원적인 평면에 표현한 입체주의 시대 회화의 한계를 넘어 입체감과 공간감의 표현을 위해 조형적 측면에서 접근하여 제작하였다. 따라서 연구자는 작품을 제작하기에 앞서 20C 미술계의 커다란 전환점이었던 입체주의의 표현 양상과 현대 도예의 영역확장에 대한 선이해가 중요하다고 판단되어 이에 대한 접근을 시도하였다. 위의 연구를 통하여 기존개념에서 탈피해 새로운 관점에서 접근해보니 창의적이며 실용성을 겸비한 개성적인 조형물로서 새로운 가능성이 엿보였다. 이는 생활 속의 예술로 도자 조형의 영역을 확대시켜 연구대상으로서 현대도예의 한 분야가 될 수 있으리라 생각된다.

Jean Paul Gaultier, debuted in 1970's and referred to as a bad boy in Paris fashion industry with his abnormal and ingenious ideas such as skirts for men, underwear outfit, etc, is a leading fashion designer. This study nay find its meaning from the fact that this study defines how the voluptuous beauty, one of the figurative beauties inherent in Jean Paul Gaultier's design, expresses in the movie costume and understands the world of the designer's fashion to provide a foundation to fashion designers who are looking for a new area where they can actively involve in. For the study, the 'The Fifth Element (1997)', in which the voluptuous beauty, Jean Paul Gaultier's representative figurative beauty, is fully revealed, and also it is his latest movie he participated in as costume designer, was selected and costume design is analyzed using DVD screen capture program. Also, this study reviewed his design with his collections from 1997 when he was invited to Haute Couture and began to actively perform his works down to date and also referred to numerous materials, fashion magazines, movie magazines, Internet data and etc. From the results of analyzing Jean Paul Gaultier collections, firs, the beauty he is pursuing is projected broadly in three types- the voluptuous beauty from clothing innovation, the voluptuous beauty from unpolished nature, the voluptuous beauty from exposure. Second, the movie ${\ulcorner}$The Fifth Element${\lrcorner}$ is well revealed the world of Jean Paul Gaultier's art presenting visual amusement and variety of attractions. Finally, the results of analyzing costume by characters say that the clothing innovation and the voluptuous beauty from exposure on Leeloo's costume, the voluptuous beauty from exposure on Korben Dallas's costume, the voluptuous beauty from unpolished nature on Zorg and Ruby Rhod's costumes are well shown respectively.

본 연구는 클리셰(cliche)의 개념화에 주목하여 성경 텍스트에 나타난 클리셰를 분석함으로써 클리셰의 개념과 범주를 올바로 규정짓고자 하였다. 클리셰의 개념을 비롯하여 클리셰와 관용어의 범주를 구분하여 설명하고, 성경 텍스트를 분석함으로써 클리셰의 개념과 정확한 사용을 위한 기준점을 제시하였다. 분석은 신뢰도를 높일 수 있도록 13권의 영어 성경 텍스트를 통해 클리셰를 정리하고 분석하였다. 분석 결과로는 성경 텍스트의 클리셰를 분석에 있어 그 의의를 발견함과 동시에 클리셰의 범주를 확실히 할 수 있었다. 본고는 영 한 통번역을 위해 성경 텍스트에 나타난 클리셰를 분석함으로써 클리셰의 흥미로움을 발견함과 동시에 클리셰의 기능을 모색하고, 이를 통해 통번역 분야에 개념적 발판을 마련한 데에 그 의미가 있다. 영 한 통번역에 있어서 관용어를 비롯하여 클리셰의 개념에 대한 학습과 교육적 가치에 있어서 매우 도움이 될 것으로 생각된다. 클리셰는 어느 언어에서나 다양하게 나타날 수 있는 비유 표현이자, 언어를 특징짓는 일부가 되는 언어 표현 도구로써 사회 문화적인 현실 속에서 사용되면서 그 사회와 문화를 특징짓는 중요한 요소가 되기 때문이다. 따라서 본고에서의 클리셰의 개념 이해와 분석을 토대로 독자로 하여금 영 한 통번역 현장에서의 클리셰 연구의 필요성이 인식되고 클리셰 연구가 더욱 활발해질 것으로 기대한다.

본 연구에서는 제한물질을 포함하고 있는 화학양론에 관한 개념 회상 및 응용에 미치는 비유물의 체계성과 표현 방식의 효과를 조사하였다. 체계성은 인과 구조를 어느 정도 명확하게 포함하느냐에 따라 구분하였고 표현 방식은 언어 형태와 언어와 그림 양 형태로 구성하였다. 137명의 중학생들에게 네 가지 유형의 비유물을 무선 배치하고 이를 학습하도록 하였다. 처치 이전에 Group Assessment of Logical Thinking 검사를 실시하고 그 점수를 공변인으로 사용하였다. 처치 이후에 연구자가 제작한 개념 검사를 바로 실시하고 4주 후에 파지 검사를 실시하였다. ANCOVA 분석 결과 체계성은 표현 방식에 관계없이 학습 직후 개념 응용에 긍정적인 영향을 미쳤다. 그러나 파지 검사의 개념 응용 문제에서는 체계성에 따른 주효과는 없고 표현 방식과의 상호작용 효과가 있었다. 이러한 결과는 언어와 그림 양 형태로 제작한 체계적인 비유물이 개념 응용에 가장 효과적임을 나타낸다. 이에 대한 교육학적 합의를 논의하였다.

In the cultural realm of Hinduism centering around India, traditional costumes such as Sari, and Dhoti are worn up to date under the influence of religious faith, tradition, and fundamentalism. The purpose of this study is to clarify the religious meaning of unstitched traditional Indian costume and inquire into the figurative beauty of it. This study revolved around India, and the aesthetic feature affected by hinduism was examined based on the literature references and the figurative feature and aesthetic value of unstitched costume were analyzed. The most important feature of Indian costume is the unstitched costume without joining pieces of cloth by using a needle and thread, symbolizing the purity based on the cosmology of Hindu. In the unstitched costume of India, natural drapery that is the large cloth, slipped or tied on body, wrapping it affluently, is emphasized. Unstitched costume of India, based on cosmology of Hindu and the concept of purity, is still broadly worn by people under the influence of fundamentalism and conservative atmosphere. Religious idea is expressed and a beauty of concealment, emphasizing the chastity, is shown in the unstitched costume of India, while a beauty of nature is distinctively revealed in the non-structural and asymmetric drapery costume due to the unique wearing style. In addition, 'A beauty of symbolism' appears in the wearing method, color, the part of wearing, and ornament. Religion has affected overall culture that is inclusive art, aesthetics, and social structure and has contributed to the formulation of costume style. Unstitched costume of India is the unique tradition of India and identity, based on the religious idea.

The purpose of this study was to propose various directions for effectively proposing window displays that satisfy changing consumer needs by investigating and analyzing the characteristics of unexpected expressions used in recent Christmas windows. Research was conducted by investigating unexpectedness in window displays through literature reviews and previous studies. To observe unexpectedness in Christmas windows, website-based case images of window displays from the six years between 2010 and 2015 were collected from the department stores of Bergdorf Goodman, Printemps, Selfridges, and Isetan. Unexpected expressions in department-store Christmas window displays could be categorized into four expressive methods of hybrid expressions, figurative expressions, amusing expressions, and exaggerative expressions. The results were as follows: First, hybrid expressions are interpreted by consumers as having new or diverse meanings that change the original external forms of subjects or objects. Second, Christmas colors are used in the window backgrounds' figurative expressions, but these windows do not use excessive expressions; furthermore, these windows personify people as animals and anthropomorphize animals as people, using subjects to depict other subjects to show unfamiliar images. Third, amusing expressions are used to decorate windows with unique and novel ideas that provide stimulation and amusement for customers and capture their attention through the composition of windows that entail childish props and elements that create funny. Fourth, exaggerative expressions deliberately stretch and expand subjects or objects in windows to elicit customers' curiosity and interest through emphasis.

The purpose of this study is to make a basic resource in developing a design satisfying male consumers＇ fashion inclination by examining the features of the men＇s fashion style shown in the fashion collections. Collected were 1,291 photos relating to the suit style through the analysis on the men＇s fashion collections for 8 years(1995-2002). Representative men＇s fashion images are extracted from these photos, then figurative features were analyzed and typified according to image, and finally representative fashion styles were presented and its meaning was analyzed. Representative men＇s fashion images are Sophisticated, Casual, Elegant, Active, Natural, Classic, Romantic, Ethnic, Military, Marine, Colonial, and Avant-garde. With the subcategories such as detailed shape of jacket and trousers, the relationship of color between upper and lower clothes, type and organizing method of material quality, type and arranging method of pattern, and coordination, the extracted fashion images were analyzed the figurative features. After finding out the common and different features, four men＇s fashion styles were suggested. Formal style maintains the typical suit style and has the feature expressing the men＇s authority, tradition, and honor. It includes Sophisticated, Elegant. and Classic image. Casual St Sporty style has the feature that there is a change in the volume of suit by adding activity to the typical suit style. It includes Casual, Active, and Natural image. Uniformed style is that political and social environment such as war has an influence on the suit design. It includes Military, Marine, and Colonial image. Deformed style has the feature that it suggests new type instead of adhering to the typical suit design. It includes Ethnic, Romantic, and Avant-garde image.
