In spite of the benefits of field studies, field surveys have not well performed in secondary school. Although many field sites have been developed lately, most field guidebooks describe the geological formations at the outcrops professionally so they can not be used by secondary school students. It is necessary to develop the field study program with which earth science teachers can do field activities easily rather than the one of a highly technical nature. The purpose of this study is to develope a secondary school geology course and to help earth science teachers practice it by providing the efficient teaching methods for the field study

In 1990's, two types of land consolidation has been widely carried out to enforce competativeness of rice production in Korea. One is so called large-scale land consolidation for resizing paddy field and farm road, the other is general land consolidation for changing both size and shape of field, water channel and farm road. This study was conducted to evaluate how much effect on fm mechanization the land consolidation had. To evaluate the influence of the land consolidation, theoretical analysis and surveys were accomplished. Land consolidation was analyzed to increase field efficiency by 180 to 670% depending on the type of land consolidation and machine selection. Also, land consolidation brought increment of real working time ratio by reducing traveling time on farm road. Trends of large scale mechanization and increment of custom work were observed to be accelerated by land consolidation. It also gave effect on the pattern of machine troubles. Farmers were conscious of the influence of land consolidation on machine utilization, however, in plains level of satisfaction was shown to be low.

Recently, construction noise has caused much annoyance for a number of dwellers in nearby construction field and has become a very serious issue in our living environment. Therefore in our country, a practical solution and better method of reducing construction noise are highly required. Practical solutions for the construction noise, however, are very difficult because the poorness of basic data and insufficiency of the existing research. In this point, this study attempts to surveys the subkective response of construction machine noise in construction field. And this study intends to get the basic data for establishment of a standard about construction noise.

Runoff characteristics of organic matters and nutrients from greenhouse site in paddy field area were investigated during the irrigation period in 2004. The greenhouse selected which situated near the Nam river, Jinju, Korea used the ground water as the irrigation purpose. And, the rotating system of paddy field to upland was adapted as a cropping system which is a typical practice in this area. Various items such as total phosphorus(T-P), total nitrogen(T-N), dissolved oxygen(DO), BOD, etc. were observed to figure out the seasonal and spatial variation in the study sites. it was found that the risk of water pollution due to the contamination of nutrients in canals in green house sites, and their neighbouring small sized streams are much higher than those in ordinary paddy field areas. Further surveys and investigations are required to find out the counter measures to reduce water pollution occurred in greenhouse sites.

Globular clusters(GCs) are found not only around galaxies (galaxy GCs), but also between galaxies in galaxy clusters (intracluster GCs; ICGCs). The ICGCs, which are not bound to any of cluster member galaxies, are governed by the galaxy clutster potential. ICGCs have been detected in the wide field of Virgo and Fornax galaxy clusters. However, previous surveys covered only a small fraction of Coma and Perseus. In this study we present a wide field survey of these two galaxy clusters, using Subaru Hyper Suprime-Cam(HSC) archival images, covering a circular field with diameter of ~1.8 deg. We select ICGC candidates, by masking the images of bright galaxies and choosing point sources in the remaining area. We find thousands of ICGCs in each galaxy cluster. These ICGCs show a bimodal color distribution, which is dominated by blue GCs. We investigate spatial distributions and radial number density profiles of the blue and red ICGCs in each galaxy cluster. Implications of the results will be discussed.

AKARI's all-sky survey resolves the far-infrared emission in many thousands of nearby galaxies, providing essential local benchmarks against which the evolution of high-redshift populations can be measured. This review presents some recent results in the resolved galaxy populations, covering some well-known nearby targets, as well as samples from major legacy surveys such as the Herschel Reference Survey and the JCMT Nearby Galaxies Survey. This review also discusses the prospects for higher redshifts surveys, including strong gravitational lens clusters and the AKARI NEP field.

Submillimetre and millimetre-wave surveys with Herschel and the South Pole Telescope have revolutionised the discovery of strong gravitational lenses. Their follow-ups have been greatly facilitated by the multi-wavelength supplementary data in the survey fields. The forthcoming Euclid optical/near-infrared space telescope will also detect strong gravitational lenses in large numbers, and orbital constraints are likely to require placing its deep survey at the North Ecliptic Pole (the natural deep field for a wide class of ground-based and space-based observatories including AKARI, JWST and SPICA). In this paper I review the current status of the multi-wavelength survey coverage in the NEP, and discuss the prospects for the detection of strong gravitational lenses in forthcoming or proposed facilities such as Euclid, FIRSPEX and SPICA.

The purpose of this research is to study motivation of freshmen in Environmental Education Department for choosing their major, and their environmental awareness in overall. The subject for this research is twenty freshmen, majoring Environmental Education at Korea National University of Education in 2007, and methods of the research include survey through questionnaires, reviewing literature of the field, and conference with experts in Environmental Education. After the research, six freshmen's motivation for choosing Environmental Education as their major changed positively. Awareness of the environment in residential area changed somewhat negatively, while awareness of the nation's overall environment changed positively. Subjects' recognition for the need of Environmental Education was generally negative in both the first and second surveys whereas that of sustainable society changed more remarkably throughout the surveys. Most subject thought that the most important issue Environmental teachers should teach is proper attitudes towards and reasonable actions for the environment.

In order to apply job performance records to the master craftsman examination, which is an examination to screen the top-rated technician and task manager, the domestic industry has introduced job performance records to the written test of the master craftsman examination. Surveys on master craftsman's field capabilities and applicability are being conducted, and various qualification methods are being tested so as to give satisfaction to consumers in industrial fields. However, these methods have many problems in assessing task managers' qualifications. In order to solve these problems, this research intends to verify the appropriateness of introducing master craftsman's portfolios assessment and the suitability of application methods by conducting interviews and surveys. One big conglomerate and one mid-sized company that has more than 500 employees and covers from 주조(酒造:brewing) 또는 to providing various services to consumers were selected for this research.

Throughout the world, energy sector is increasing in importance. Reflecting this situation, the government has introduced an energy efficiency rating system for buildings. In particular, the government is planning to introduce the energy evaluator examination system. In this study will want to analyze the relevant sectoral perception for the energy evaluator through expert interviews and surveys. The research results are expected to contribute to the rational management of the energy evaluator system.
