이산화탄소 분리용 세라믹 중공사 접촉막 모듈 기술 개발 (Development of Ceramic Hollow Fiber Membrane Contactor Modules for Carbon Dioxide Separation)

  • Porous $Al_2O_3$ hollow fiber membranes were successfully prepared by dry-wet spinning/sintering method. The SEM image shows that the $Al_2O_3$ hollow fiber membrane consists mostly of sponge pore structure. The contact angle and the breakthrough pressure were $126^{\circ}$ and 1.91 bar, respectively. This results indicate that the $Al_2O_3$ hollow fiber membranes were successfully modified to hydrophobic surface. The hydrophobic modified $Al_2O_3$ hollow fiber membranes were assembled into a membrane contactor system to separate $CO_2$ from a model gas mixture of the flue gas at elevated gas velocity. The $CO_2$ absorption flux was enhanced when the gas velocity increased from $1{\times}10^{-3}$ to $6{\times}10^{-3}$ m/s. Whereas the $CO_2$ absorption flux was decreased with the number of hollow fiber membrane of a module because of the concentration polarization. Furthermore, we developed an lab-scale $Al_2O_3$ hollow fiber membrane contactor modules and their system (i.e., $CO_2$ absorption using the $Al_2O_3$ membrane and monoethanolamine (MEA)) that could dispose of over $0.02Nm^3/h$ mixture gas (15% $CO_2$) with the removal efficiency higher than 95%. The results can be useful in a field of the membrane contactor for $CO_2$ separation, helping to design and extend a equipment.

Thermal, electrical and mechanical buckling loads of sandwich nano-beams made of FG-CNTRC resting on Pasternak's foundation based on higher order shear deformation theory

  • This research deals with thermo-electro-mechanical buckling analysis of the sandwich nano-beams with face-sheets made of functionally graded carbon nano-tubes reinforcement composite (FG-CNTRC) based on the nonlocal strain gradient elasticity theory (NSGET) considering various higher-order shear deformation beam theories (HSDBT). The sandwich nano-beam with FG-CNTRC face-sheets is subjected to thermal and electrical loads while is resting on Pasternak's foundation. It is assumed that the material properties of the face-sheets change continuously along the thickness direction according to different patterns for CNTs distribution. In order to include coupling of strain and electrical field in equation of motion, the nonlocal non-classical nano-beam model contains piezoelectric effect. The governing equations of motion are derived using Hamilton principle based on HSDBTs and NSGET. The differential quadrature method (DQM) is used to calculate the mechanical buckling loads of sandwich nano-beam as well as critical voltage and temperature rising. After verification with validated reference, comprehensive numerical results are presented to investigate the influence of important parameters such as various HSDBTs, length scale parameter (strain gradient parameter), the nonlocal parameter, the CNTs volume fraction, Pasternak's foundation coefficients, various boundary conditions, the CNTs efficiency parameter and geometric dimensions on the buckling behaviors of FG sandwich nano-beam. The numerical results indicate that, the amounts of the mechanical critical load calculated by PSDBT and TSDBT approximately have same values as well as ESDBT and ASDBT. Also, it is worthy noted that buckling load calculated by aforementioned theories is nearly smaller than buckling load estimated by FSDBT. Also, similar aforementioned structure is used to building the nano/micro oscillators.

베트남 일반은행의 경쟁력 제고에 관한 연구 (Competitiveness Enhancement for Local Commercial Banks in Vietnam)

  • 본 연구에서는 베트남 일반은행들의 경쟁력제고를 의사결정의 목적으로 삼고 AHP 계층분석기법을 적용하여 이 문제의 해결을 돕기 위한 모형을 제시하고 있다. 은행 분야 전문가들을 대상으로 항목간 쌍방비교방식으로 이루어진 설문지를 배포하고 회수된 의사결정요소들의 상대적 가중치를 분석한 결과 다음의 세 가지의 주요 결과를 도출하였다. 첫째, 은행의 안전성이 베트남 일반은행들의 경쟁력확보에 있어 가장 중요한 평가기준이며 운용의 효율성, 무형가치의 보유정도 및 영업규모가 그 뒤를 뒤따른다. 둘째, 베트남 일반은행들의 경쟁력제고를 위한 대안으로 건전한 재무상태의 확보가 가장 우선시되어야 한다. 효과적인 경영관리시스템, 전략적 인적자원계획 및 고품질의 제품과 서비스 또한 높은 상대적 가중치를 보인다. 셋째, 건전한 재정확보를 위해서 악성부채 해결이 절대 필요한 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 효과적인 경영관리시스템을 구축하고 고품질의 제품과 서비스를 제공하기 위해서는 신기술의 도입이 매우 중요하다. 아울러 전략적 인적자원계획의 달성을 위해서는 임직원의 자질향상이 절대적으로 필요하다.

A Case Study: Unsupervised Approach for Tourist Profile Analysis by K-means Clustering in Turkey

  • Data mining is the task of accessing useful information from a large capacity of data. It can also be referred to as searching for correlations that can provide clues about the future in large data warehouses by using computer algorithms. It has been used in the tourism field for marketing, analysis, and business improvement purposes. This study aims to analyze the tourist profile in Turkey through data mining methods. The reason relies behind the selection of Turkey is the fact that Turkey welcomes millions of tourist every year which can be a role model for other touristic countries. In this study, an anonymous and large-scale data set was used under the law on the protection of personal data. The dataset was taken from a leading tourism company that is still active in Turkey. By using the k-means clustering algorithm on this data, key parameters of profiles were obtained and people were clustered into groups according to their characteristics. According to the outcomes, distinguishing characteristics are gathered under three main titles. These are the age of the tourists, the frequency of their vacations and the period between the reservation and the vacation itself. The results obtained show that the frequency of tourist vacations, the time between bookings and vacations, and age are the most important and characteristic parameters for a tourist's profile. Finally, planning future investments, events and campaign packages can make tourism companies more competitive and improve quality of service. For both businesses and tourists, it is advantageous to prepare individual events and offers for the three major groups of tourists.

  • COVID-19의 확산으로 인하여 많은 지자체에서는 대규모의 관광객이 유입되는 상황에 대한 부담감이 발생하고 있다. 또한 워라벨(Work-Life-Balance)을 중시하는 풍토가 생겨나면서 개인의 삶과 만족도에 관한 관심이 급격히 높아지고 있다. 또한, 메타버스 분야의 인기로 인해 많은 사람이 관련 콘텐츠에 관한 관심이 높아지고 있다. 특히 '모여봐요. 동물의 숲' 은 2020년도 1,500만 장 이상 판매를 하였고, 이곳에서 집을 인테리어하고, 낚시하고 곤충을 채집하는 교류를 즐기고 있다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 추세에 맞춰 제주 인프라를 기반으로 하는 온라인 낚시 게임 개발을 소개하고자 한다. 본 논문은 구현 및 개발 내용을 위주로 설명을 할 것이며, 특히 온라인 서버를 개발, 유니티3D 엔진을 기반으로 제주도 지형의 아름다움을 최대한 살린 지형모델을 개발 및 낚시에 최적된 캐릭터 애니메이션을 통해 차별화된 게임 개발을 소개한다.

The effect of different tornado wind fields on the response of transmission line structures

  • Majority of transmission line system failures at many locations worldwide have been caused by severe localized wind events in the form of tornadoes and downbursts. This study evaluates the structural response of two different transmission line systems under equivalent F2 tornadoes obtained from real incidents. Two multi-span self-supported transmission line systems are considered in the study. Nonlinear three-dimensional finite element models are developed for both systems. The finite element models simulate six spans and five towers. Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations are used to develop the tornado wind fields. Using a proper scaling method for geometry and velocity, full-scale tornado flow fields for the Stockton, KS, 2005 and Goshen County WY, 2009 are developed and considered together with a previously developed tornado wind field. The tornado wind profiles are obtained in terms of tangential, radial, and axial velocities. The simulated tornadoes are then normalized to the maximum velocity value for F2 tornadoes in order to compare the effect of different tornadoes having an equal magnitude. The tornado wind fields are incorporated into a three-dimensional finite element model. By varying the location of the tornado relative to the transmission line systems, base shears of the tower of interest and peak internal forces in the tower members are evaluated. Sensitivity analysis is conducted to assess the variation of the structural behaviour of the studied transmission lines associated with the location of the tornado relative to the tower of interest. The tornado-induced forces in both lines due to the three different normalized tornadoes are compared with corresponding values evaluated using the simplified load case method recently incorporated in the ASCE-74 (2020) guidelines, which was previously developed based on the research conducted at Western University.

A comparative study on rapid seismic risk prioritization for reinforced concrete buildings in Antalya, Türkiye

  • Antalya is located south part of minor Asia, one of the biggest cities in Türkiye. As a result of population growth and vast migration to Antalya, many parts of the city that were not suitable for construction due to its geological conditions have become urban areas, and most of these urban areas are full of poorly engineered buildings. Poor engineering has been combined with unplanned urbanization, that causes utter vulnerability to disasters in Antalya. When an earthquake-prone city, Antalya faces with an earthquake risk, fear arises in society. To overcome this problem, it has become necessary to investigate the building stock, expressed in hundreds of thousands, in a fast and reliable way and then perform an urban transformation to create the perception of structural safety. However, the excessive building stock, labor, and economic problems made the implementation stage challenging and revealed the necessity of finding alternative solutions in the field. The present study presents a novel approach for assessment and model based on a rapid visual inspection method to transform areas under earthquake risk in Türkiye. The approach aimed to rank the interventions for decision-making mechanisms by making comparisons in the scale hierarchy. In the present study, to investigate the proposed approach, over 26,000 buildings were examined in Antalya, which is the fifth largest city in Türkiye that has a population of over 2.5 Million. In the results of the study, the risk classification was defined in the framework of building, block, street, neighborhood, and district scales.

감압 밸브 배관 시스템 내 파수-주파수 분석을 통한 곡관의 유동소음 저감에 대한 수치적 연구 (Numerical investigation on the flow noise reduction due to curved pipe based on wavenumber-frequency analysis in pressure relief valve pipe system)

  • 감압밸브에서 발생하는 급격한 압력저하는 강한 소음원으로 작용하여 배관을 따라 압축성 압력섭동을 전파시키며, 이는 음향유기진동의 가진원으로 작용한다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 감압밸브가 있는 배관 시스템에서 곡관에 의한 압축성 압력섭동의 저감 효과를 확인할 수 있는 수치기법을 개발하였다. 배관 내 밀도 변화에 의한 음향파 성분을 모사하기 위해 고정밀 해석기법인 비정상 압축성 대와류모사 기법을 적용하였으며, 아격자 모델로는 Smagorinsky-Lilly 모델을 적용하였다. 배관을 따라 전파되는 압축성 압력섭동 성분을 유동장 정보로부터 추출하기 위하여 파수-주파수 분석을 수행하였으며, 곡관을 기준으로 상류방향 배관과 하류방향 배관의 벽면 압력을 활용하였다. 이를 통해 평면파 성분과 n=1에 해당하는 모드 성분이 하류 방향을 따라 강하게 나타나는 것을 확인하였으며, 곡관을 전후로 전체 음향파워가 3 dB 저감되는 것을 확인함으로써 곡관에 의한 압축성 압력섭동 저감 효과를 확인하였다.

Residual capacity assessment of in-service concrete box-girder bridges considering traffic growth and structural deterioration

  • The existing concrete bridges are time-varying working systems, where the maintenance strategy should be planned according to the time-varying performance of the bridge. This work proposes a time-dependent residual capacity assessment procedure, which considers the non-stationary bridge load effects under growing traffic and non-stationary structural deterioration owing to material degradations. Lifetime bridge load effects under traffic growth are predicated by the non-stationary peaks-over-threshold (POT) method using time-dependent generalized Pareto distribution (GPD) models. The non-stationary structural resistance owing to material degradation is modeled by incorporating the Gamma deterioration process and field inspection data. A three-span continuous box-girder bridge is illustrated as an example to demonstrate the application of the proposed procedure, and the time-varying reliability indexes of the bridge girder are calculated. The accuracy of the proposed non-stationary POT method is verified through numerical examples, where the shape parameter of the time-varying GPD model is constant but the threshold and scale parameters are polynomial functions increasing with time. The case study illustrates that the residual flexural capacities show a degradation trend from a slow decrease to an accelerated decrease under traffic growth and material degradation. The reliability index for the mid-span cross-section reduces from 4.91 to 4.55 after being in service for 100 years, and the value is from 4.96 to 4.75 for the mid-support cross-section. The studied bridge shows no safety risk under traffic growth and structural deterioration owing to its high design safety reserve. However, applying the proposed numerical approach to analyze the degradation of residual bearing capacity for bridge structures with low safety reserves is of great significance for management and maintenance.

소비자의 온라인 패션몰 아바타에 대한 커뮤니케이션 신뢰가 아바타에 대한 성과기대 및 재사용의도에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Consumers' Trust in Communication with Online Fashion Mall Avatars on Performance Expectancy and Re-use Intentions)

  • This study investigates the effect of consumers' trust in communication with online fashion mall avatars on performance expectancy and re-use intention. For the empirical study, 207 adults were surveyed using a 5-point Likert scale, and the results were analyzed with SPSS 21.0. The analysis reveals the following results. First, the factor analysis of trust in communication with the avatar, performance expectancy, and re-use intention revealed cognitive and affective trust as subfactors of the trust in communication with the avatar, while purchase choice expectations and performance expectancy were identified as subfactors of performance expectancy for the avatar. A total of five factors, including re-use intention, were recognized. Second, the trust in communication with online fashion mall avatars significantly positively affected performance expectancy for the avatar. Among the subfactors, cognitive trust was determined to have a greater influence on purchase choice expectations than affective trust. Third, the performance expectancy for the online fashion mall avatar significantly positively affected re-use intention. Notably, the subfactor performance expectancy had a greater influence than purchase choice expectations. Finally, trust in communication with online fashion mall avatars significantly positively affected re-use intention. Accordingly, the sub-factor cognitive trust had a greater influence on re-use intention than affective trust. The results of this study are academically significant in that they empirically test the influence relationship between trust in communication, performance expectancy, and re-use intention, considering the personal characteristics of online fashion mall avatars on consumers using the Meta-UTAUT model in the fashion field.
