  • Initial reliability prediction done by calculation would be more practical if support by evidence from customer usage profile and field failure data to improve the prediction. Thus, the consistency of the design and the product would be practically validated. In this paper, it will address rationale and method to decide on Acceleration Factor (AF) to be used in Accelerated Life Test (ALT) through usage profile and field failure. The case study of tractor transmission is used to demonstrate the method which data obtained from surveys done on farmers, field visits and field failure data from service center. By considering all the elements, it will determine more relevant AF which indicates the real use conditions of the component.

  • 일반적으로 weakly guiding되는 waveguide의 mode field profile을 측정하기 위해서는 CCD 카메라와 imaging lens를 사용하여 field distribution을 측정한다. 하지만, 이러한 방법은 빛의 회절한계 현상 때문에 특수 광섬유에서 guiding되는 빛을 높은 분해능으로 측정 할 수 없다는 단점이 있다. 따라서 빛의 회절현상을 극복하기 위해서는 빛이 회절 되기 전의 근접장 영역에서 mode field profile을 측정하는 방법이 필요하다. (중략)

  • In this study, Two dimensional spatial profile of electromagnetic field for capacitively coupled plasma source is calculated. Based on one dimensional fluid equation, spatial profile for the axial direction of electric field and conduction current density is firstly calculated. The two dimensional spatial profile for the electromagnetic field is calculated from solution of Maxwell equation that is expanded to power series for ${\omega}r/c$ into the radial direction.

  • A 2.45 GHz electron cyclotron resonance (ECR) plasma source with a belt magnet assembly configuration (BMC) was developed for hyperthermal neutral beam (HNB) generation. A plasma source for high flux HNB generation should be satisfied with the requirements: low pressure operation, high density, and thin plasma. The ECR plasma source with BMC achieved high density at low operation pressure due to electron confinement enhancement caused by high mirror ratio and drifts in toroidal direction. The 2.45 GHz microwave launcher had a circularly bended WR340 waveguide with slits. The microwave E-field profile induced by the microwave launcher was studied in this paper. The E-field profile was a cups field perpendicular to B-filed at ECR zone. The optimized E-field profile and B-field were found for effective ECR heating.

  • The objective of this study is to develop GLEANS-PADDY model to predict nutrients loading from paddy-field areas. This model is developed by modifying the GLEANS model which is used for uplands, and composed of hydrology and nutrient submodels. The optimal field size for CLEANS-PADDY model application is about up to 50 ha with mild slope, relatively homogeneous Soils and spatially rainfall, and a single crop farming. The CLEAMS model is modified to handle ponded soil surface condition and saturated soil profile in paddy field. In the hydrology submodel of the CLEAMS-PADDY model. the ponded depth routing method is used to handle the ponded water condition of paddy field. To compute potential evapotranspiration the FAO-24 Corrected Blaney-Criddle method is used for paddy field instead of Penman-Monteith method in the CLEAMS model. In the nutrients submodel of the CLEAMS-PADDY model, the soil was assumed saturated and soil profile in the root zone was divided into oxidized and reduced zones.

  • Various techniques to measure the three-dimensional (3D) surface profile of a 3D micro- or nanostructure have been proposed. However, it is difficult to apply such techniques directly to industrial uses because most of them are relatively slow, unreliable, and expensive. The HiLo optical imaging technique, which was recently introduced in the field of fluorescence imaging, is a promising wide-field imaging technique capable of high-speed imaging with a simple optical configuration. It has not been used in measuring a 3D surface profile although confocal microscopy originally developed for fluorescence imaging has been adapted to the field of 3D optical measurement for a long time. In this paper, to the best of our knowledge, the HiLo optical imaging technique for measuring a 3D surface profile is proposed for the first time. Its optical configuration and algorithm for a precisely detecting surface position are designed, optimized, and implemented. Optical performance for several 3D microscale structures is evaluated, and it is confirmed that the capability of measuring a 3D surface profile with HiLo optical imaging technique is comparable to that with confocal microscopy.

  • The sub­surface stress field beneath the gear's contact surface caused by the contact pressure in lubricated condition has been calculated. To evaluate the influence of the clearance shape on the stress field, two kinds of tooth profile models were chosen. One is the conventional cylinder contact model and the other is the new numerical model. Love's rectangular patch solution was used to obtain the sub­surface stress field. The analysis results show that the sub­surface stress is quite dependent on both the contact pressure and the profile model. The maximum effective stress of the new model is lower than that of the old model. The depth where the maximum effective stress occurs in the new model is not proportional to the intensity of the external load.

  • The subsurface stress field beneath the roller's contacting surface due to the contact pressure in lubricating condition has been calculated. Main purpose of this study in view of engineering is to prove the validity of the numerical profile roller presented by Koo et al. The Love's rectangular patch solution was used to obtain the subsurface stress field. The stress field of the numerical profile roller was compared with the one of the existing dub-off profile roller The analysis results show reduced subsurface stresses for the numerical profile roller.

Background Gradient Correction using Excitation Pulse Profile for Fat and $T_2{^*}$ Quantification in 2D Multi-Slice Liver Imaging (불균일 자장 보정 후처리 기법을 이용한 간 영상에서의 지방 및 $T_2{^*}$ 측정)

  • Purpose : The objective of this study was to develop background gradient correction method using excitation pulse profile compensation for accurate fat and $T_2{^*}$ quantification in the liver. Materials and Methods: In liver imaging using gradient echo, signal decay induced by linear background gradient is weighted by an excitation pulse profile and therefore hinders accurate quantification of $T_2{^*}$and fat. To correct this, a linear background gradient in the slice-selection direction was estimated from a $B_0$ field map and signal decays were corrected using the excitation pulse profile. Improved estimation of fat fraction and $T_2{^*}$ from the corrected data were demonstrated by phantom and in vivo experiments at 3 Tesla magnetic field. Results: After correction, in the phantom experiments, the estimated $T_2{^*}$ and fat fractions were changed close to that of a well-shimmed condition while, for in vivo experiments, the background gradients were estimated to be up to approximately 120 ${\mu}T/m$ with increased homogeneity in $T_2{^*}$ and fat fractions obtained. Conclusion: The background gradient correction method using excitation pulse profile can reduce the effect of macroscopic field inhomogeneity in signal decay and can be applied for simultaneous fat and iron quantification in 2D gradient echo liver imaging.

  • 본 논문에서는 dopant density에 의존적인 pn junction의 breakdown 특성을 향상시키기 위하여, doping density와 doping profile에 대하여 분석했다. Doping density와 doping profile은 역방향 junction breakdown voltage를 결정하는 중요한 요소인 공핍영역의 두께와 공핍영역 내에 인가되는 electric field를 결정한다. Uniform doping profile과 Gaussian doping profile을 비교했고, 고전압 환경에서 사용할 수 있는 소자를 제작하는데 더욱 적절한 doping profile과 doping 농도에 대해 기술했다.
