Fault Detection and Reconstruction for Descriptor Systems with Actuator and Sensor Faults

  • This paper proposes an application of sliding mode observer to the problem of fault detection and reconstruction for descriptor systems with both actuator and sensor faults. In detecting and reconstructing the faults simultaneously, first, we will consider the fault detection problem for sensor fault. The detection of sensor fault is achieved from the design of the matrix which eliminates the influence of actuator fault. Secondly, the sliding mode observer which adds the general full-order observer for descriptor system to feedforward injection map and feedforward compensation signal is designed, and through which the sensor fault is reconstructed. Finally, with the reconstructed sensor fault, and by eliminating differential term of the sensor fault, the actuator fault is detected and reconstructed.

유연 구조물의 능동 반력 제어기 설계 (Active Control of Reaction Forces for Flexible Structures)

  • A method for actively controlling dynamic reaction forces in flexible structures subject to persistent excitations is presented. Since reaction forces are not directly measured in flexible structures, reaction forces are estimated by using the Kalman filter. The estimated reaction force is used as an error signal in the adaptive feedforward disturbance cancellation controller. In order to compensate the static effect of the truncated modes in the reaction forces, the residual flexibility matrix is used with the Kalman filter. The paper presents the formulation of the reaction forces in conjunction with the Kalman filter estimator and the adaptive feedforward controller. The results show that the dynamic reaction forces at its supports in a flexible beam test rir are well suppressed.

  • An improved disturbance rejection control scheme is presented for minimizing the position error due to the repeatable runout disturbances in high density disk drive systems The proposed control algorithm is capable of attenuating repeatable disturbances which is one of the major detractors to hard disk drive quality and performance. This is achieved by a sys-tematic combination of an optimal feedback component and a feedforward preview component. The feedback component is designed where the emphasis is placed on robustness. The feedforward component is on the basis of a preview control comprised of a measured disturbance signals which leads to better disturbance rejection capabilites. The designed con-troller is applied as a plug-in module to a high density hard disk drive with a pre-existing conventional servo controller. Simulations have been carried out to demonstrate the effectiveness of this control scheme in the reduction of the periodic disturbances.

가변 PBG 천이격자를 이용한 선형증폭기 위상제어 선로 설계 (Design of Phase Shift Lines in Linear Power Amplifier Using Shifted Photonic Bandgap)

  • 본 논문에서는 선형증폭기에 사용되는 가변 위상제어기를 PBG 천이격자를 이용해 설계 및 제작하였다. 주파수 대역은 향후 가입자 증대에 따른 증폭기의 선형성 요구에 대응하기 위해서 5.8GHz 무선랜 주파수 대역을 사용하였다. 기존 선형증폭기에 사용되는 가변 위상제어기는 혼합 형태를 가지고 있어서 선형증폭기의 부피증가 요소가 되었다. 본 논문에서 설계된 천이격자 PBG구조는 PBG구조 중 일부의 격자길이를 조절함으로써 최대 80o의 가변위상을 얻을 수 있었다. 제작된 천이격자 PBG구조는 상용되는 증폭기 신호제거 부분에 적용되어 주신호의 제거를 측정할 수 있었다.

  • This paper designed a robust control of an induction motor using a disturbance cancellation observer of a feedforward control. The speed response of conventional PI controller characteristic is affected by variations of load torque disturbance. In the proposed system, the speed control characteristic using a feedforward control isn't affected by a load torque disturbance. High speed calculation and processing for vector control is carried out by ADMC300 digital signal processor. Validity of the proposed control method is verified through simulation and experimental result.

  • For ANC systems applied to aircrafts or passenger ships, engines from which reference signals are usually measured are located so far from seats where main part of controllers are placed. It can make feedforward ANC scheme difficult to implement or very costly. Feedback ANC algorithms which do not require reference signals and use error signals alone to update the filter, are usually sensitive to measurement noise ' and impulse noise. In this paper, reference signal needed for the feedforward control is not measured directly but generated with the estimated frequencies. Cascade adaptive notch filter (ANF), which has the low computational burden, is used to implement ANC system in real time. Several ANFs of order 2 are connected in series to estimate multiple sinusoids. Computer simulations and experiments in the laboratory for verifying efficacy of the proposed algorithm are carried out.

  • This paper presents hybrid active noise control (HANC) systems which is based on the combination of feedforward and feedback ANC controllers. HANC systems use FIR filters and is based on primary noise regeneration principle and filtered-X LMS algorithms. HANC systems show better attenuation characteristics and residual spectrum. The order of adaptive filters used in HANC systems is lower than that of conventional feedforward and feedback ANC systems. A proposed HANC algorithm was implemented using a Taxas Instruments TMS320C31 digital signal processor for experimental verification.

  • For multi-carrier communication system, power amplifier generate intermodulation products caused by their nonlinear characteristics. Intermodulation products arised around the carrier frequency cannot be filtered out, operate as noise source for tile adjacent channel and thus degrades the quality of communication. In this paper, the 1850MHz-band RF linear power amplifier has been designed and fabricated with feedforward loop. The error signal loop consists of several key components such as phase shifter and attenuator, subtracter. The proposed Linearizer was tested with two-tone signals separated 10MHz apart at the center frequency of 1850MHz. The experimental results show C/I improvement by 14.5${\~}$20dB over 15dB dynamic range(33${\~}$47.8dBm) which gave IMD of 53.25${\~}$59dBc for the designed LPA.

IMT-2000용 피드포워드 전력 증폭기의 이득 평탄도의 영향에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Effects of Gain Flatness of Feedforward Power Amplifier for IMT-2000 Band)

  • 본 논문은 IMT-2000 대역에서 동작하는 피드포워드 증폭기의 선형성 개선을 위한 이득 평탄도의 영향에 관한 것이다. 각 증폭기의 이득 평탄도에 대한 동작 특성을 조사하기 위하여 WCDMA 4FA 신호를 인가하여 최종 출력 10 W에서 측정하였다. 특히, 지연 선로, 위상, 크기의 부정합과 같이 선형성 개선에 영향을 미치는 요인 중 각 증폭기의 이득 평탄도의 변화에 따르는 선형성의 개선에 대하여 조사하였다. 전력 증폭기는 40 MHz, 오차 증폭기는 40 MHz, 80 MHz 대역에서 이득 평탄도를 변화시키면서 측정하였다. 측정 결과, 오프셋 5 MHz 지점에서 20 dB 이상의 개선 효과를 나타내기 위해서는 전력 증폭기는 1.5 dB, 오차 증폭기는 0.5 dB 이내의 이득 평탄도를 가져야 함을 확인하였다. 또한, 오차 증폭기의 이득 평탄도에 따라 피드포워드 증폭기의 선형성이 급격히 변화하였으며, 오차 증폭기의 이득 평탄도가 선형성 개선에 더 중요한 요소임을 확인하였다.

  • A cavity delay filter module for IMT-2000 LPA has been developed with 0.9dB insertion loss, 0.1dB/0.6$^{\circ}$ gain/phase flatness. Broadband signal cancellation of the module has been simulated using the measured S parameter, and gain, phase and group delay have been matched to satisfy the signal cancellation of the module. In the experiment, the value of designed parameters are used and 40dB signal cancellation has been obtained over 100MHz bandwidth. Also the sampling cancellation has been shown to be the similar performance of the feedforward output cancellation.
