Protective Effect of Modified Glucomannans against Changes in Antioxidant Systems of Quail Egg and Embryo due to Aurofusarin Consumption

  • The aim of this study was to evaluate effects of modified glucomannan ($Mycosorb^{TM}$) on the antioxidant profile of egg yolk and tissues of newly hatched quail after aurofusarin inclusion in the maternal diet. Fifty-four 45 day-old Japanese quail were divided into three groups and were fed a corn-soya diet balanced in all nutrients ad libitum. The diet of the experimental quail was supplemented with aurofusarin at the level of 26.4 mg/kg feed in the form of Fusarium graminearum culture enriched with aurofusarin or with aurofusarin plus $Mycosorb^{TM}$ at 1 g/kg feed. Eggs obtained after 8 weeks of feeding were analysed and incubated in standard conditions of $37.5^{\circ}C$/55% RH. Samples of quail tissues were collected from newly hatched quail. The main carotenoids, retinol, retinyl esters and malondialdehyde were analysed by HPLC-based methods. Inclusion of aurofusarin in the maternal diet was associated with decreased carotenoid and vitamin A concentrations in egg yolk and liver of newly-hatched quail. Furthermore, lipid peroxidation in quail tissues was enhanced. Inclusion of modified glucomannan ($Mycosorb^{TM}$) in the toxin-contaminated diet provided a significant protective effect against changes in antioxidant composition in the egg yolk and liver. It is suggested that a combination of mycotoxin adsorbents and natural antioxidants could be the next step in counteracting mycotoxins in animal feed.

  • Dietary acidifiers appear to be a possible alternative to feed antibiotics in order to improve performance of weaning pigs. It is generally known that dietary acidifiers lower gastric pH, resulting in increased activity of proteolytic enzymes, improved protein digestibility and inhibiting the proliferation of pathogenic bacteria in GI tract. It is also hypothesized that acidifiers could be related to reduction of gastric emptying rate, energy source in intestine, chelation of minerals, stimulation of digestive enzymes and intermediate metabolism. However, the exact mode of action still remains questionable. Organic acidifiers have been widely used for weaning pigs' diets for decades and most common organic acidifiers contain fumaric, citric, formic and/or lactic acid. Many researchers have observed that dietary acidifier supplementation improved growth performance and health status in weaning pigs. Recently inorganic acidifiers as well as organic acidifiers have drawn much attention due to improving performance of weaning pigs with a low cost. Several researchers introduced the use of salt form of acidifiers because of convenient application and better effects than pure state acids. However, considerable variations in results of acidifier supplementation have been reported in response of weaning pigs. The inconsistent responses to dietary acidifiers could be explained by feed palatability, sources and composition of diet, supplementation level of acidifier and age of animals.

  • Fast and accurate distillation design requires a model that significantly reduces the problem size withour loss of accruacy is especially suitable for rela-time applicatoins. the reduced order model is obtained by use of Principal Component Anlysis(PCA). Then the extended Kalman filter and the Recursie Predictiuon Error(RPE) mehtod are appliced to identify the model parameters and the feed compostion form the measuremenets of the coumn. as a consequence it is found that the model reduction thechique can account for the dynamics of the rigorous distillation model and not only the model parameters, bu also the feed compostion can be identified efficiently. this technique is applied to industrial operation data verify the performance of reduced order model.

  • In silicon wafer manufacturing process, the grinding process has been adopted to improve the quality of wafer such as flatness, roughness and so on. This paper describes the effect of grinding process on the surface quality of wafer. The experiments are carried out by high precision in fred grinder with air bearing spindle. The relationship between the inclination of chuck table and the flatness of wafer is investigated, and the effect of grinding conditions including wheel speed, table speed, and feed rate on damage depth and roughness of wafer is also investigated. The experimental results show that there is close relationship between the inclination of the chuck table and the flatness of wafer, and the grinding conditions within this paper little affect the flatness of wafer and relatively high affect the damage depth of wafer.

  • The spinning is a very effective manufacturing technology for short production runs in a variety of sizes and shapes, because it can form the cross-section or tubular parts various shapes. However extensive experimental and analytical research has not been carried out. In this study, and fundamental experiment was conducted to improve productivity with process parameter such as tool path, angle of roller holder(a), feed rate(v) and corner radius of forming roller(Rr). These factors were selected as variables in the experiment because they were most likely expected to have and effect on spring back. The clearance was controlled in order to achieve the precision product which is comparable to deep drawing one. And also thickness and diameter distribution of a multistage cup obtained by shear spinning process were observed and compared with those of a commercial product produced by conventional deep drawing.

  • Ultra-abrasives such as diamond and CBN have used to maintain accuracy and form deviation for superalloy etc. This study contains the dry cylindrical grinding of metals with Vitrified-bond CBN wheel. For various conditions of grinding speed, workpiece speed, grinding depth and feed speed of table, the grinding resistance, the surface roughness, and the material removal are measured and discussed.   • This Paper describes the design of high speed and low power comparator based on the feed forward bias control. Major building blocks of this comparator are composed of input offset canceling circuit and feed forward bias control circuit. The usual offset canceling circuit cancels the offset voltages by storing them in capacitors using MOS switches, The comparator of this paper employs the bias control circuit which generates bias signal from the input signal. The bias signal is applied to the capacitors and keeps the transfer of chares in the capacitors in the minimal amount, therefore making the comparator operate in stable condition and reduce decision time. The comparator in this form has very samll area and power dissipation. Maximum sampling rate is 200 Ms/sec. The comparator is designed in 0.65${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ technology and the offset is less than 0.5㎷.

  • In this paper, a micro-turning lathe is introduced for micro machining of aluminum rod. To give feed motion, stepwise motion[2] actuators are used instead of the conventional inchworm mechanism. These are consisted of two Piezoelectric ceramics; one is for feeding the slider, and the other is for clamping the slider in the guide way of the body. The guide is V-form. The linearity and positional accuracy of the actuators is good enough far high precision motion. Since the system is more compact than the conventional system using three Piezoelectric ceramics, it is applicable for the micro-machine or MEMS unit. To fabricate the lathe, a small spindle unit with ball bearings of diameter of 10 millimeter is built-up on the top the slider. The motion is feed backed with miniaturized linear encoder attached each axis slider. The diamond tool bite is used for cutting tool. The machining is tried to make small diameter rod. The possible diameter that can be machined in this machine is presented as well as chip formation, surface roughness, and machinability.

Derivation of Zeros from Externally-loaded Feed-forward Element of Filter Network

  • We present a mathematical method for calculation of transmission zero locations, determining a filtering characteristics of two-port systems. By adjusting element values based on the zero locations, the frequency-selectivity is characterized. The characteristic polynomial of ladder networks in externally-loaded feed-forward systems is considered by adopting chain matrices for subsystems. This method can be extended to other types of lumped systems with cross-coupled sections. We find out the zeros by solving characteristics polynomials of closed-form expressions in terms of Laplace impedances of elements. The pairs of complex zeros are shown to be solely from the cross-coupled portion of the system.

Prediction of Surface Roughness in Hole Machining Using an Endmill (엔드밀을 활용한 홀 가공 시 표면거칠기 예측에 관한 연구)

  • Helical machining is an efficient method for machining holes using an endmill. In this study, a surface roughness prediction model was constructed for improving the productivity of hole machining. Experiments were conducted to form holes by the helical machining of AL6061-T4 aluminum sheets and correlation analysis was performed to examine the relationships between the variables based on the measured results. Meanwhile, a regression analysis technique was used to construct and evaluate the prediction model. Through these analyses, the parameter which has the greatest influence on the surface roughness when the hole is formed by the helical machining is the feed, followed by the number of revolutions of the endmill. Moreover, for the axial feed of the endmill, it was concluded that the influence of the surface roughness is small compared to the other two parameters but it is a factor worth considering to improve the accuracy when constructing the predictive model.
