  • In recent years, the development of drone technologies has promoted the widespread commercial application of drones. However, the ability of drone to carry explosives and other destructive materials may bring serious threats to public safety. In order to reduce these threats from illegal drones, acoustic feature extraction and classification technologies are introduced for drone sound identification. In this paper, we introduce the acoustic feature vector extraction method of harmonic line association (HLA), and subband power feature extraction based on wavelet packet transform (WPT). We propose a feature vector extraction method based on combined HLA and WPT to extract more sophisticated characteristics of sound. Moreover, to identify drone sounds, support vector machine (SVM) classification with the optimized parameter by genetic algorithm (GA) is employed based on the extracted feature vector. Four drones' sounds and other kinds of sounds existing in outdoor environment are used to evaluate the performance of the proposed method. The experimental results show that with the proposed method, identification probability can achieve up to 100 % in trials, and robustness against noise is also significantly improved.

  • The multisource image fusion has become an active topic in the last few years owing to its higher segmentation rate. To enhance the accuracy of multimodal pig-body feature segmentation, a multisource image fusion method was employed. Nevertheless, the conventional multisource image fusion methods can not extract superior contrast and abundant details of fused image. To superior segment shape feature and detect temperature feature, a new multisource image fusion method was presented and entitled as NSST-GF-IPCNN. Firstly, the multisource images were resolved into a range of multiscale and multidirectional subbands by Nonsubsampled Shearlet Transform (NSST). Then, to superior describe fine-scale texture and edge information, even-symmetrical Gabor filter and Improved Pulse Coupled Neural Network (IPCNN) were used to fuse low and high-frequency subbands, respectively. Next, the fused coefficients were reconstructed into a fusion image using inverse NSST. Finally, the shape feature was extracted using automatic threshold algorithm and optimized using morphological operation. Nevertheless, the highest temperature of pig-body was gained in view of segmentation results. Experiments revealed that the presented fusion algorithm was able to realize 2.102-4.066% higher average accuracy rate than the traditional algorithms and also enhanced efficiency.

  • The advent of malicious code has increased exponentially due to the spread of malicious code generation tools in accordance with the development of the network, but there is a limit to the response through existing malicious code detection methods. According to this situation, a machine learning-based malicious code detection method is evolving, and in this paper, the feature of data is extracted from the PE header for machine-learning-based malicious code detection, and then it is used to automate the malware through autoencoder. Research on how to extract the indicated features and feature importance. In this paper, 549 features composed of information such as DLL/API that can be identified from PE files that are commonly used in malware analysis are extracted, and autoencoder is used through the extracted features to improve the performance of malware detection in machine learning. It was proved to be successful in providing excellent accuracy and reducing the processing time by 2 times by effectively extracting the features of the data by compressively storing the data. The test results have been shown to be useful for classifying malware groups, and in the future, a classifier such as SVM will be introduced to continue research for more accurate malware detection.

In this article, the modeling method for improving speech recognition performance that combines the feature extraction for speech and silence characteristics normalized to the non-speech. The proposed method is minimized the noise affect, and speech recognition model are convergence of speech signal feature extraction to each speech frame and the silence feature normalization. Also, this method create the original speech signal with energy spectrum similar to entropy, therefore speech noise effects are to receive less of the noise. the performance values are improved in signal to noise ration by the silence feature normalization. • Recently, the requirements of multi-resolution models of a solid model, which represent an object at multiple levels of feature detail, are increasing for engineering tasks such as analysis, network-based collaborative design, and virtual prototyping and manufacturing. The research on this area has focused on several topics: topological frameworks for representing multi-resolution solid models, criteria for the level of detail (LOD), and generation of valid models after rearrangement of features. As a solution to the feature rearrangement problem, the new concept of the effective zone of a feature is introduced in the former part of the paper. In this paper, we propose a feature-based non-manifold modeling system to provide multi-resolution models of a feature-based solid or non-manifold model on the basis of the effective feature zones. To facilitate the implementation, we introduce the class of the multi-resolution feature whose attributes contain all necessary information to build a multi-resolution solid model and extract LOD models from it. In addition, two methods are introduced to accelerate the extraction of LOD models from the multi-resolution modeling database: the one is using an NMT model, known as a merged set, to represent multi-resolution models, and the other is storing differences between adjacent LOD models to accelerate the transition to the other LOD. We also suggest the volume of the feature, regardless of feature type, as a criterion for the LOD. This criterion can be used in a wide range of applications, since there is no distinction between additive and subtractive features unlike the previous method.

  • In this paper, we propose an obstacle localization method using a road feature based on a V-disparity map binarized by a maximum frequency value. In a conventional method, the detection performance is severely affected by the size, number and type of obstacles. It's especially difficult to extract a large obstacle or a continuous obstacle like a median strip. So we use a road feature as a new decision standard to localize obstacles irrespective of external environments. A road feature is proper to be a new decision standard because it keeps its rough feature very well in V-disparity under environments where many obstacles exist. And first of all, we create a binary V-disparity map using a maximum frequency value to extract a road feature easily. And then we compare the binary V-disparity map with a median value to remove noises. Finally, we use a linear interpolation for rows which have no value. Comparing this road feature with each column value in disparity map, we can localize obstacles robustly. We also propose a post-processing technique to remove noises made in obstacle localization stage. The results in real road tests show that the proposed algorithm has a better performance than a conventional method.

  • To employ NMF to transcribe music by extracting feature matrix and weight matrix at the same time, it is necessary to know in advance the dimension of the feature matrix, and to determine the pitch of each extracted feature vector. Another drawback of this approach is that it becomes more difficult to accurately extract the feature matrix as the number of pitches included in the target music increases. In this study, we prepare a feature matrix database, and apply the matrix to transcribe real music. Transcription experiments are conducted by applying the feature matrix to the music played on the same piano on which the feature matrix is extracted, as well as on the music played on another piano. These results are also compared to those of another experiment where the feature matrix and weight matrix are extracted simultaneously, without making use of the database. We could observe that the proposed method outperform the method in which the two matrices are extracted at the same time.

  • This paper presents an image retrieval algorithm based on feature vector using color of histogram refinement for a faster and more efficient search in the process of content based image retrieval. First, we segment each of R, G, and B images from RGB color image and extract their respective histograms. Secondly, these histograms of individual R, G and B are divided into sixteen of bins each. Finally, we extract the maximum pixel values in each bins' histogram, which are calculated, compared and analyzed, Now, we can perform image retrieval technique using these maximum pixel value. Hence, the proposed algorithm of this paper effectively extracts features by comparing input and database images, making features from R, G and B into a feature vector table, and prove a batter searching performance than the current algorithm that uses histogram matching and ranks, only.

  • This paper presents how to implement Markerless Augmented Reality and how to create and apply reference data sets. There are three parts related with implementation: setting camera, creation of reference data set, and tracking. To create effective reference data sets, we need a 3D model such as CAD model. It is also required to create reference data sets from various viewpoints. We extract the feature points from the mode1 image and then extract 3D positions corresponding to the feature points using ray tracking. These 2D/3D correspondence point sets constitute a reference data set of the model. Reference data sets are constructed for various viewpoints of the model. Fast tracking can be done using a reference data set the most frequently matched with feature points of the present frame and model data near the reference data set.

  • This paper proposes an ATR (Automatic Target Recognition) algorithm for identifying non-occluded and occluded military vehicles in natural FLIR (Forward Looking InfraRed) images. After segmenting a target, a radial function is defined from the target boundary to extract global shape features. Also, to extract local shape features of upper region of a target, a distance function is defined from boundary points and a line between two extreme points. From two functions and target contour, four global and four local shape features are proposed. They are much more invariant to translation, rotation and scale transform than traditional feature sets. In the experiments, we show that the proposed feature set is superior to the traditional feature sets with respect to the similarity-transform invariance and recognition performance.
