분포정수회로 해석 방법을 이용한 지중선로 고장점 추정 알고리즘 (A Novel Algorithm of Underground Cable Fault Location based on the analysis of Distributed Parameter Circuit)

  • In this paper, a novel algorithm of underground cable fault location based on the analysis of distributed parameter circuit is proposed. The proposed method makes voltage and current equations about core and sheath, and then establishes a function of the fault distance according to the analysis of fault conditions. Finally gets the solution of this function through Newton-Raphson iteration method. The effectiveness of proposed algorithm has been verified by Matlab program, and the cable parameters such as impedance and admittance are from EMTP simulation.

Design of HTS power cable with fault current limiting function

  • As demand for electricity in urban areas increases, it is necessary to improve electric power stability by interconnecting neighboring substations and high temperature superconductor (HTS) power cables are considered as a promising option due to its large power capacity. However, the interconnection of substations reduces grid impedance and expected fault current is over 45 kA, which exceeds the capacity of a circuit breaker in Korean grid. To reduce the fault current below 45 kA, a HTS power cable having a fault current limiting (FCL) function is considered by as a feasible solution for the interconnection of substations. In this study, a FCL HTS power cable of 600 MVA/154 kV, transmission level class, is considered to reduce the fault current from 63 kA to less than 45 kA by generating an impedance over 1 Ωwhen the fault current is induced. For the thermal design of FCL HTS power cable, a parametric study is conducted to meet a required temperature limit and impedance by modifying the cable core from usual HTS power cables which are designed to bypass the fault current through cable former. The analysis results give a minimum cable length and an area of stainless steel former to suppress the temperature of cable below a design limit.

  • We investigated the quench characteristics in integrated three-phase flux-lock type superconducting fault current limiter (SFCL), which consisted of three-phase flux-lock reactor wound on one iron core with the same turn's ratio between coil 1 and coil 2 for each single phase. To study the quench characteristics of the SFCL, the experiments was performed on various fault type such as the single line-to-ground fault, the double line-to-ground fault, the triple line-to-ground fault. From the experimental results, the generated point of element resistances was different on various fault type.

  • The flux-coupling type superconducting fault current limiter(SFCL) is composed of a series transformer and superconducting unit of the YBCO coated conductor. The primary and secondary coils in the transformer were wound in series each other through an iron core and the YBCO coated conductor was connected with secondary coil in parallel. In a normal condition, the flux generated from a primary coil is cancelled out by its structure and the zero resistance of the YBCO thin films. When a fault occurs, the resistance of the YBCO coated conductor was generated and the fault current was limited by the SFCL. In this paper, we investigated the fault current limiting characteristics according to turn ratio in the flux-coupling type SFCL. The experiment results that the fault current limiting characteristics was improved according to turn ratio.

  • We investigated the quench characteristics of the flux-lock type superconducting fault current limiter (SFCL) integrated three-phase according to fault types such as the single-line-to-ground fault, the double-line-to-ground fault and the three-line-to-ground. The structure of integrated three-phase flux-lock type SFCL consists of single core which have three-phase flux-lock reactors. The superconducting elements connected sound phase as well as fault phase happened to quenching. Therefore we conformed that the superconducting elements were dependent.

  • We investigated the fault current characteristics of the separates three-phase flux-lock type superconducting fault current limiter(SFCL) according to the variation of inductances. The single-phase flux-lock type SFCL consists of two coils. The primary coil is wound in parallel to the secondary coil on an iron core. And superconductor is series connected on secondary coil. Superconductor is using the YBCO coated conductor. The separated three-phase flux-lock type SFCL consists of single-phase flux-phase type SFCL in each phase. To analyze the current limiting characteristics of a three-phase flux-lock type SFCL, the short circuit experiments were carried out fault such as the triple line-to-ground fault. The experimental result shows that fault current limiting characteristics of additive polarity winding was better than subtractive polarity winding and when the inductances of coil 2 was lower, resistances of YBCO CC was more generated.

단층 및 파쇄대가 분포하는 Fill Dam 기초의 보강대책 (Geotechnical treatment for the fault and shattered zones under core foundation of fill dam)

  • 화강편마암을 지반으로 하는 지역의 Fill Dam 코어기초에 3-12m 폭의 단층대와 40여m 폭의 단층파쇄대가 신선한 암반사이에 분포하며, 이들 각각의 암반의 탄성특성은 현저한 차이를 보인다. 평판재하시험 및 시추공내 변형시험 등의 현장 원위치 시험결가 신선한 암반의 변형계수는 $42,000~168,000kg/\textrm{cm}^2$의 범위를 보이나 단층대의 변형계수는 $963~2,204kg/\textrm{cm}^2$, 파쇄대에서는 $1,238~2,098kg/\textrm{cm}^2$의 범위를 나타낸다. 이와 같이 큰 차이의 변형계수값을 갖는 단층대 및 단층파쇄대와 신선한 암반 사이에는 댐 성토 후 부등침하가 예상된다. 따라서 이에 대한 보강을 위하여 증분식 유한요소 프로그램인 FEADAM 84를 이용한 지반과 보강에 따른 변위 등을 검토하였다. 이때 구성된 유한요소망은 지표조사 및 시추조사에서 확인된 불연속면이 기하학적 분포특성을 고려하였다. 유한요소 해석을 통하여 계산된 단층대와 신선한 암반 사이의 보강 전 부등침하량은 약 6cm에 달하며, 콘크리트 치환 보강 후에는 0.5cm 이내로 나타났다.

데이터 기반 경험적 모델의 원전 계측기 고장검출 민감도 평가 (Fault Detection Sensitivity of a Data-driven Empirical Model for the Nuclear Power Plant Instruments)

  • When an accident occurs in the nuclear power plant, the faulted information might mislead to the high possibility of aggravating the accident. At the Fukushima accident, the operators misunderstood that there was no core exposure despite in the processing of core damage, because the instrument information of the reactor water level was provided to the operators optimistically other than the actual situation. Thus, this misunderstanding actually caused to much confusions on the rapid countermeasure on the accident, and then resulted in multiplying the accident propagation. It is necessary to be equipped with the function that informs operators the status of instrument integrity in real time. If plant operators verify that the instruments are working properly during accident conditions, they are able to make a decision more safely. In this study, we have performed various tests for the fault detection sensitivity of an data-driven empirical model to review the usability of the model in the accident conditions. The test was performed by using simulation data from the compact nuclear simulator that is numerically simulated to PWR type nuclear power plant. As a result of the test, the proposed model has shown good performance for detecting the specified instrument faults during normal plant conditions. Although the instrument fault detection sensitivity during plant accident conditions is lower than that during normal condition, the data-drive empirical model can be detected an instrument fault during early stage of plant accidents.

광케이블 고장이 고객 불만에 미치는 영향 연구 (The Effects of Optical Cable Fault on Customer Complaints)

  • 본 연구는 광케이블 고장이 발생하였을 때 예상 피해 고객과 고장 처리 지연시간이 고객 불만 증가에 미치는 영향을 분석하고자 한다. 광케이블 고장을 복구시키는데 소요되는 시간, 근무 요일여부, 계절성을 함께 고려하였고, 작업자 부주의로 인한 고장, 외부 공사, 코어 단선 및 밴딩 등 관리 가능 항목 고장과 자연재해, 차량추돌, 화재 등 관리 불가능한 변수를 구분하였다. 광케이블 고장 증가의 실증 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 광케이블 고장에 의한 피해 고객수와 복구 시간에 대해서 생산 함수를 이용하였을 때 고객 불만이 무차별하게 증가 하는 것을 알 수 있었다. 둘째, 광케이블 고장처리 뿐만이 아니고 현장에서 관리 가능한 변수인 작업 장애, 외부 공사, 코어 단선이 발생하면 고객 불만을 증가 시켰다.

철심 변류기의 2차 전류 보상 알고리즘의 실시간 구현 및 오차 분석 (Hardware implementation and error analysis of an algorithm for compensating the secondary current of iron-cored current transformers)

  • The conventional method to deal with current transformer (CT) Saturation is over dimensioning of the core so that CTs can carry up to 20 times the rated current without exceeding 10% ratio correction. However, this not only reduces the sensitivity of relays as some errors may still be present in the secondary current when a severe fault occurs, but also increases the CT size. This paper presents an algorithm for compensating the distorted secondary current of iron-cored CTs under CT saturation using the magnetization (flux-current : .lambda.-i) curve and its performance is examined for fault currents encountered on a typical 345[kV] Korean transmission system, under a variety of different system and fault conditions. In addition, the results of hardware implementation of the algorithm using a TMS320C10 digital signal processor are also presented. The proposed algorithm can improve the sensitivity of relays to low level internal faults, maximize the stability of relays for external faults, and reduce the required CT core cross-section significantly.
