The Chinese fashion market is a fierce battlefield for foreign brands and domestic brands. This research carefully analyzed several effects based on theories related to the country of origin for brands and consumer attitudes. All data were collected by a questionnaire distributed to Chinese consumers who have experienced global fashion brands. Data collection was conducted in March 2011. A total of 382 complete responses were used for the analysis. The results were as follows: First, for Chinese brands, there was a direct consumer ethnocentrism (CET) effect on brand attitudes. Second, CET showed no effect for European brands; however, conspicuous consumption had a significant positive influence. Third, there existed direct effects of CET and economic animosity on brand attitudes for brands from an unfriendly country. There was a positive moderating effect of conspicuous consumption on the association between CET and Japanese brand attitudes; in addition, a negative situation perception aggravates the negative relationship between economic animosity and Japanese brand attitudes. The results of the study can help marketers obtain more specific knowledge of brand attitudes for target consumer groups as well as enable them to plan and implement well-suited strategies for fashion businesses in China.

This study presents methods and alternative examples for fashion brands to effectively use video-based communication channels to form brand identity that analyzes the definition, status and type of YouTube channel fashion films as well as enables the ability to derive brand identity characteristics. Literature studies focused on Christian Dior's official website and related previous studies. Respondents evaluated 8 different collaborate case cards from 1 to 8, presenting a certain fashion brand, who had recently teamed up with various kinds of product companies for collaboration. Product was found as the most important factor in evaluating the collaboration case cards, analyzed through Conjoint Analysis. Respondents segmented additionally by clothing involvement valued different collaboration factors; products for the high clothing involvement group and messenger and designer for the low clothing involvement group. All the segments and respondents chose the best the card presenting blue jeans, Mr. Chang, and B.S. Choi, as similarity for products, fame for mdoel, and similarity for designer, respectively.
This study is, to the special company with corporate brand, to investigate the effect of its reputation, credibility and the similarity of business area on consumer's attitude toward its clothing products. It is another topic of the study to reveal statistical significance in comsumer's attitude when naming new product with two different brand strategy. The major findings of this study can be summarized as follows. First, there was positive relationship between corporate reputation and consumer's attitude toward new brand and also between corporate credibility and consumer's that. Second, corporate credibility is proven to be grown in proportion to company's reputation. In other words, a corporate credibility is grown with a corporate reputation. Third, the influence of similarity or fitness of business area has a positive effect on a attitude toward new brand. The case of use the new brand name, the variable had low effect on attitude toward new brand, comparing to the case of use the existing brand name but seems to be statistically significant. Fourth, comparing to the inclination toward company's product based on brand name, strategy of supporting brand extension is more effective than that of new brand name on evaluating company's reputation, credibility and the similarity of business area. Fifth, the similarity of business area and the interaction of brand name on the basis of the strategy of use the existing brand name(;brand extension strategy) and new one have significant effect on the inclination to a brand. When participating a new business, it is more effective that a company is extending its business where the similarity of business area is growing. For the case of low similarity, the brand-new strategy is proven to be effective.
This study sought to identify the types of fashion brands preferred by tourists based on the shopping values that they pursue through purchases at tourist destinations and to verify the effects of these values on their satisfaction. To obtain a representative sample of South Korea's tourist shoppers, a survey was conducted among 300 subjects involving adult men and women in their twenties to sixties. Structural equation modeling analyses were performed on the collected data using SPSS and AMOS. The effects of tourist shopping values on brand attitudes were verified by dividing tourist shopping values into social, epistemic, and functional values and dividing brand attitudes into attitudes toward fashion global and local brands. Additionally, this work intended to ascertain the moderating effect of cosmopolitanism on tourist shopping behaviors. The analysis results reveal that a high level of epistemic value as perceived by tourists during shopping resulted in a corresponding high level of preference for local fashion brands. Furthermore, a high level of social value as perceived by tourists led to a high level of preference toward global fashion brands. Contrastingly, functional value influenced both local and global brands. As a result of the moderating effect, in the group with high cosmopolitanism tendency, the effect of epistemic value was not significant, but the low group significantly affected brand attitude based on the social and epistemic value. Given its academic and practical implications, the present study is likely to broaden the understanding of tourist shopping and facilitate future research on that phenomenon.
This study aims to analyze the impact of negative review type, brand reputation and opportunity scarcity perception, on preferences of fashion products in social commerce. For the above evaluation, we used the 2 (negative review type: objective/subjective) ${\times}2$ (brand reputation: high/low) ${\times}2$ (opportunity scarcity perception: high/low) model, designed with three mixed elements. We enrolled 260 women in their 20s and 30s, who live in Seoul and have used social commerce; a final total of 207 subjects were considered for analysis. The data were analyzed using the SPSS 18 program and reliability test, t-test and three-way ANOVA were performed. Following observations were made: First, preferences were higher when the subjects read objective negative reviews than subjective negative reviews, and when a fashion product was from a brand of high reputation than a brand of low reputation. Second, the interaction effect between negative review type and brand reputation was greater among the subjects whose opportunity scarcity perception is high, than those having low opportunity scarcity perception. Thus, we conclude that the social commerce should encourage consumers to write more objective reviews, and fashion brands should manage their reputations well. Also, social commerce can use scarcity messages aggressively to increase preferences of global fashion luxury goods, which is actively marketed in social commerce since 2015.
