In order to correctly understand the Internet fashion shopping mall, which is expected to continuously grow up, and to strengthen marketing activities in cyber space, a more scientific and systematic research is necessary. Most of the early researches of the Internet fashion shopping mall were focused on technical parts so they studied the environmental and physical characteristics of the Internet fashion shopping mall, but recently, the Internet fashion shopping mall is activated and accordingly, the interest in Internet shopping users is going up. Under this circumstance, the research to understand the characteristics of Internet shopping consumers becomes necessary. Therefore, the research was conducted by a survey, focusing on college students who use Internet a lot. The survey covered the experience and the type of using the Internet fashion shopping mall, the extent of satisfaction, strengths, and weaknesses of the Internet fashion shopping mall, the use of a cyber fitting system, and the possibility of the development of the Internet fashion shopping mall having a cyber fitting system. As a result of the study, it was found that: most of the students used the Internet fashion shopping mall; they used a fashion-specialized mall most; they pointed out economy of time as the biggest strength of using the Internet fashion shopping mall; they thought the biggest weakness of the Internet fashion shopping mall is that they can not try on clothes so they can not check whether clothes go well with them or not; and regarding the intention to use a cyber fitting system if available and the possibility of the development of the Internet fashion shopping mall, they replied that they would use it and the malls with the system would be developed. Based on the results, this study proposes a cyber fitting system as an improvement of the Internet fashion shopping mall.
The market of Internet-based fashion/coordination shopping malls have been growing rapidly year by year. In accordance with this growth, Internet fashion shopping malls are also making a lot of efforts to increase their revenue by displaying new fashion products on a high spot or by having professional models wear them to make them more attractive to the customers. If online shopping malls have the functionality of automatically calculating the matching degree of lower and upper clothes, it could play a role of off-line shop assistants and provide a more convenient way of purchasing fashion products for customers. In this paper, we present a learning system adopting the content-based filtering method for online shopping malls, which automatically calculates the matching degree of lower and upper clothes and recommends the most well-matched pair.
The purposes of this study is to investigate the attitudes and value of fashion product description and consumer replies used in online shopping malls, and to examine the differences in the perceived reliability(objectivity, expertise, trustworthiness) preference and purchase intention toward the product as determined by the appeal type (evaluation-sentimental vs. factual-information) of the product description, the direction(negative vs. positive) and type(factual vs. evaluative) of consumer replies for the product in online shopping malls. Data was collected from female college students with fashion products purchase experience at online shopping malls by questionnaire survey (N=424) and analyzed by using frequency analysis, t-test and ANOVA. Results showed that consumers respondents tended to read product description and other consumer replies before purchasing, when shopping for fashion products through an on-line shopping mall. They thought that sellers' product description and the consumers' replies were helpful in making their decision; but, they were also skeptical about product description. Respondents showed higher perceived reliability, preference and purchase intention to the factual-information type product description than the evaluation-sentimental type. Positive consumer replies were more effective in yielding higher preferences and purchase intentions. Factual replies tend to yield higher reliability than evaluative replies.

The purposes of this study were 1) to identify predictors of consumers′ apparel purchase on Internet shopping malls and 2) to determine reasons that respondents didn\`t have purchase intention of apparel on Internet shopping malls. The data were collected via a self-administered questionnaire from 204 male and female students who experienced shopping for apparel on Internet shopping malls, living in Cheju and analyzed by factor analysis, multiple regression analysis, t-test and paired t-test. Two predictors were found regarding purchase of apparel on the "big box" Internet shopping malls which sells various product categories; apparel quality and fun of order process. On the speciality Internet shopping malls which sells only fashion goods, diverse apparel assortment and easy handling and fun of information search were identified as predictors of apparel purchase. Reasons that respondents didn′t have purchase intention of apparel on Internet shopping malls were summarized and labeled as: difficulty of decision making due to virtual shopping environment, insufficiency of diverse apparels, users′ unease handling, risk of incredible apparel quality, unfamiliarity of Internet shopping and risks of unsecurity. Difficulty of decision making due to virtual shopping environment was determined as the most important factor of reasons that respondents didn′t have purchase intention of apparels in website.

The sample consisted of 693 university students who had visited(Ed- in this case 'visit' means to enter an internet site; note also that the past perfect tense already conveys the meaning of 'experience') internet fashion shopping malls or purchased clothing through internet. Data were analyzed by factor analysis, frequency, t-test, and ANOVA(LSD) using SPSSWIN. The results were as follows: 1) The evaluative criteria of internet fashion shopping malls could be categorized by 4 factors: product presentation method, design, product information, sales promotion & additional service; the first of which was found to be the most important. These criteria showed significant differences according to the period and time of access. Furthermore, the degree of consideration for these criteria was high, whereas the degree of satisfaction was low. 2) The evaluative criteria of clothing could be categorized by 6 factors: general characteristics of products, wearing comfort & ease of management, popularity & status symbolism, service, aesthetics, and textiles materials; the first of which was found to be the most important. In this study, I analyzed the inducing and hindering factors of online shopping malls on browsers in the process of browsing fashion products in online shopping malls. In-depth interviews were conducted by presenting browsing-related questions to women in their 20s and 50s who are interested in browsing fashion products online. Based on the answers of the interviewees, using grounded theory, we analyzed and presented six factors such as price factor, promotion factor, purchase review factor, visual information factor, product information factor, and service factor. Based on inducing and hindering factors to browsing analyzed in this study, a strategy to design a browsing environment in terms of shopping malls was suggested, which will be helpful for practical strategies and marketing in related industries. Basic data will be presented in a thesis on a new type of shopping mall browsing environment related to the rapidly developing information and communication technology. In addition, the negative emotions experienced in relation to the detrimental factors of shopping malls in the browsing process are expected to be helpful in researching fashion product browsing related to consumer psychology.
This study investigates the influences of shopping enjoyment and risk reduction on customers' attitude and the behavioral intention in the Internet shopping mall using a moving virtual model. For this study, we produced a moving virtual model to present a fashion product. The virtual model walks for about one minute on the stage. After respondents viewed it, they completed a questionnaire. The questionnaire consists of online shopping enjoyment, risk reduction, customers' attitude and behavioral intention. Respondents are limited to females aged in their 20s and 30s, who have experienced Internet shopping and are highly interested in fashion products. 411 samples were used for the final analysis. Cronbach's alpha, factor analysis, and multiple regression analysis were conducted. The results are as follows. Online shopping enjoyment and risk reduction influenced the behavioral intention directly as well as through the attitude. However, the size of the influence indicated that online shopping enjoyment is larger than risk reduction. Therefore, Internet malls should utilize the moving virtual model to provide customers with enjoyment and risk reduction, which will increase customers' favorable attitudes and the behavioral intention such as purchase intention and word of mouth.

Fashion market in the past had a physical structure, and the supply and demand developed within that space. However, this has changed with the development of online fashion market, as it no longer requires physical space. The purpose of this study was to examine the satisfaction level of online shopping purchase based on the purchase motivation of women in their 20's. It aimed to look into how the online media affected the market, and find ways to improve the shopping malls according to the demands of the market. This study examined the effect of female students' online shopping motivation on their satisfaction with a premise that purchase motivation is related to the satisfaction level. The researched subjects were selected among female college students, and the regression analysis was done using the collected questionnaires. Results showed that economic purchase motivation, product purchase motivation, hedonic purchase motivation, and social purchase motivation had positive correlation to satisfaction level. The most influential factors to the satisfaction level were convenient purchase motivation and product purchase motivation, then social purchase motivation in shopping. Hedonic purchase and economic purchase were less influential than other factors in online shopping. Social purchase motivation factor is least influential when compared to others. As for detailed purchase motivations affecting the satisfaction level, reasonable price, latest fashion goods, interest and fun of online shopping, and the ease of shopping were important factors. The research result indicates that alternative shopping solutions can be better understood by examining the online shopping satisfaction according to purchase motivation, and improve current online shopping malls.
This study categorizes online fashion shopping malls according to consumer store patronage behavior as well as classifies consumer groups by online shopping mall patronage to understand the unique characteristics in each phases of purchase. A quantitative survey was conducted using 487 questionnaires from women in their 20s and 30s. The data were analyzed using frequency analysis, cross-tabulations, factor analysis, T-test, ANOVA, cluster analysis, and ${\chi}^2$-test. The findings of this study are as follows. First, online shopping malls were classified into three types of 'integrated mall', 'open market' and 'specialized fashion mall'. Second, based on one of the three types of categorization consumer groups patronizing each type turned out as follows: integrated mall patrons (141, 28.95%), open market patrons (226, 46.41%) and the specialized mall patrons (119, 24.64%). Third, the characteristics of each group had significant differences according to clothing shopping orientation, information search, shopping mall behavior, spending on online shopping, and e-loyalty.
