Non-brand apps included commerce, magazine, information, style tip, SNS and wardrobe manager types. To sum up, given that studies on fashion-specific applications were rare, the present study reviewed and categorized current fashion applications, and suggested theoretical and practical groundwork for developing content based on target consumers' lifestyle and for planning fashion applications in practice.

In the men's collection of Seoul fashion week from 2011 S/S to 2015 S/S, 494 photos judged to be the preppy look by three design specialists were chosen in Seoul fashion week and style.com's web-site. Design analyses were compiled based on year, season, brands, item, color, material, and silhouette. The preppy look was found often in S/S season, three piece combinations were the most common, and "H", "I" silhouettes were also popular. Refined black and refreshing orange were used with traditional preppy colors like navy, beige, gray, and white. Contrast color arrangement and neutral, moderate tones were seen repeatedly. Two-thirds of fabrics were pattern-less with clean, bulky, and soft textures. Coordinating accessories like hats, backpacks, books, headsets were used frequently. Among the various preppy fashion types, there were 'traditional preppy' faithful to tradition, 'sophisticated preppy' with refined semi-formal look, 'sportive preppy' with active sports sense, and 'natural preppy' with natural and comfortable senses. In a contemporary preppy look, traditional and practical senses are combined with casual and sportive pieces. This study can provide the data for design planning, interpreting, and applying the fashion themes along with contemporary sensibilities since the preppy look is based on cultural history.

  • Classifying clothing fabrics into fashion images lacks research, but is necessary due to the short cycle of fashion and rapidly changing modern trends as consumers seek to satisfy various needs with an increase of online purchases. There is also a lack of research on fashion trend books which attach real fabrics. Therefore, this study aims to help the planning field by recognizing fabric sensibility related to the fabric image perceived by consumers. The data analysis results from descriptive statistics, t-test, and ANOVA using SPSS are as follows: Differences in the visual tactility evaluation related to the consumer recognized fabric images showed more significant differences in F/W seasons. The elegance image was shown as relatively thick, the avant-garde image was shown as relatively heavy, thick fabric. The feminine image was shown as relatively thin and smooth fabric, the sporty images were shown to be moist, flexible and elastic, and the mannish images were relatively rough. The romantic images were shown as relatively thin fabrics. The conclusions inferred from the visual tactile evaluation related to the fabric images recognized by consumers vary by major, so the prior information concerning fabrics and trends can affect the selection of images. The results of this study show that in order to produce clothes suitable for fashion product planning by learning about visual tactility that consumers recognize, fabrics component data displayed in fashion trend books from 2016 to 2018 are needed, so the planner can receive help when selecting the fabrics suitable for each trend.
