타원관 열교환기를 적용한 팬코일 성능 시험 (Performance Test of a Fan Coil with an Oval-Type Heat Exchanger)

  • In this study, a fan coil unit with an oval-type heat exchanger has been developed. The performance of the present fan coil unit has been investigated, by comparison with the previous fan coil unit with a circular-type heat exchanger. For the fan coil unit with circular- and oval-type heat exchangers, the heat flux and pressure loss through the heat exchangers were measured at standard operating conditions. In addition, the wind speeds exhausted from the fan coil units were compared, for the same fan motor operation. The experimental results show that the average wind speed of the oval-type heat exchanger is 20 percent higher than that of the circular-type heat exchanger. The heat flux in the oval-type heat exchanger is enhanced by 40% or more, over the circular-type heat exchanger.

  • In this paper, thermal comfort and ventilation performance characteristics in the lecture room with the ventilation system and two different air-conditioning systems, system air-conditioner or fan coil unit, were evaluated by experimental and numerical methods. We compared the measured data with the computational results of the predicted mean vote and carbon dioxide concentration. Additionally the ventilation effectiveness was calculated numerically. From a viewpoint of the uniformity of PMVs in the lecture room, the thermal distribution performance of the system air-conditioner was more effective than the fan coil unit. Carbon dioxide concentration and ventilation effectiveness were barely affected by the type of the air-conditioning system.

  • The miniaturization of the Air Handling Unit (AHU) has become an actual need because of the restriction of the using space on the vessel. In modern AHU’s construction, in which the fan section is at the end part of the ship, it’s very difficult to select a suitable capacity of evaporators, because the fan motor emits heat. Thus, the AHU structure has been changed as the fan section has been set before the cooling coil to get temperature values similar to the designed amount. Also, the air guider is installed in order to maintain equal air distribution after it passed the fan section. So, it is possible for air to equally pass the cooling coil. It is investigated three different geometries to find the best performance. Also, It is compared with the numerical and experimental results. The study found the case 3 gives the best results. The results of this study show the possible application of the new design.

선박용 팬코일장치 냉각관 주위의 유동특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Flow Characteristics around Cooling Tubes of Fan Coil Unit for Ship)

  • 이 연구에서는 선박용 팬일유니트의 엇갈림 냉각관 주위 유동특성을 실험적으로 고찰하였다. 입자영상유속계를 이용하여 입구유속기준 레이놀즈수 Re = $1.5{\times}10^3$에서 Re = $2.5{\times}10^3$까지 계측결과를 얻었다. 그 곁과 유동은 흐름방향으로 빠른 속도로 발달하여 비교적 짧은 거리 후방에 공간적인 주기성을 나타내었다. 유동이 발달하는 영역에서는 레이놀즈수에 의존하는 경향이 크게 나타났으나 공간적 주기성에 미치는 레이놀즈수의 영향은 크지 않았다.

냉방용 팬코일 유닛 열교환기의 열전달 및 압력강하 특성 실험연구 (Experimental Study on Heat Transfer and Pressure Drop of Heat Exchangers for Cooling Fan Coil Unit)

  • 본 연구에서는 냉방운전 시에 팬코일 유닛에 사용되는 핀-관 열교환기의 공기측 열전달 능력과 압력강하를 실험을 통하여 조사하였다. 실험을 위하여 칼로리미터와 항온수조를 이용하였다. 사용된 핀은 슬릿핀이며 5종 열교환기에 대해 배관회로와 실험조건을 변화하면서 실험하였다. 공기-물 정격유량에서의 냉방능력은 열교환기 공급 물온도가 낮은 조건이 우수하였으며, 배관회로에 따른 냉방능력은 배관 내 물흐름이 U형보다 ㄹ형인 경우에 더 크게 나타났다. 물유량이 증가할수록 냉방능력은 일정비율로 증가하였으며, 열교환기 공급 물 온도가 낮을 때 우수하였다. 공급 물 온도가 낮은 조건에서 많은 응축수가 생성되어 공기측 압력강하는 크게 나타났다.

  • In this study, the effect of operating conditions of fan-coil unit with an oval tube type heat exchanger on its non-dimensional performance coefficient has been investigated. Pressure drops and heat transfer rates were measured under heating condition for various water flow rates, inlet temperatures and wind speeds. As a non-dimensional performance coefficient, Colburn j-factor was evaluated. The results show that the most sensitive parameter on heat flux is the inlet temperature, which affects the heat flux 4.7 and 7.2 times more than the wind speed and water flow rate, respectively. On the other hand, the Colburn j-factor as a non-dimensionalized index decreases with the wind speed, and has an maximum when the wind speed is about 1 m/s. the Colburn j-factor increases slowly with the water flow rate and inlet temperature but at a certain range of inlet temperature, the opposite phenomenon is found.

버섯재배사의 공조시스템 설계에 대한 연구 (A study on the design of air conditioning system in the mushroom cultivation greenhouse)

  • 온실에서 버섯을 재배할 때 균일한 온도 분포가 되도록 하는 것이 중요하다. 지하 공기를 이용하여 비닐 하우스, 버섯재배사에 일정 온도의 공기를 공급하며 균일하게 유지하게 한다. 버섯재배사 구조는 7단 4열의 다배열 균상들 사이의 공기 흐름을 원활히 하고 위, 아래 균상 간의 환경 차이를 방지한다. 0.5m/s의 속도로 유입되는 공기는 초기 내부온도 간의 차이에 따라 밀도 차에 따른 부력에 의한 효과 역시 무시할 수 없으며, 온실내의 유동 해석을 통해 적정 온도가 균등하게 분포하도록 FCU(Fan Coil Unit)와 Fan의 위치를 정해야 한다. 본 연구에서는 유동해석을 통해 FCU와 Fan으로 구성된 샌드위치 단열 패널형의 버섯재배사의 공조시스템을 설계할 수 있었다. 그리고 재배사 내부의 온도 및 유동 해석을 통해 FCU(유입구)와 Fan(출구)의 위치가 서로 다른 Case에서 유입되는 공기의 순환 경로가 길어지면서 비교적 균일한 온도분포를 갖는데 유리함을 알 수 있었다. 따라서 이러한 환경 개선을 통해 버섯의 생육 및 품질 균일성을 도모할 수 있었다.

중앙난방시스템의 유량제어방식에 따른 제어특성 연구 (Control Characteristics with Flow Rate Control Methods in Central Heating System)

  • In this study, control characteristics and energy performance with flow rate control methods were reviewed with the simulation. The heating system is classified such as fan coil unit and HVAC system currently used in buildings with valve control and pump inverter control. The simulation analysis program is made by TRNSYS ver. 15 with the actual data. As a result of this study, the central heating system with pump inverter control decreases electricity energy and reduces gas consumption. Inverter control method shows better performance in comparison with valve control one for energy saving.

  • Aluminum thin plate coated with epoxy resin containing about 20wt% brass powder, was applied to fins of heat exchanger. We carried out a series of detailed examinations to evaluate the anti-bacterial performance of the plate and heat exchanger (fan coil unit). In the presence of water or moisture, copper ions which have an anti-bacterial ability eluted from brass powder and showed sufficient effects on many kinds of bacteria. We also evaluated the anti-bacterial performance quantitatively by use of the index API (Anti-bacterial Performance Index) which has already been proposed by authors.
