This study was conducted to investigate the moderating effect of family health on the effect of stress on happiness. To achieve the purpose of this study, data from the Cheongdo Family Happiness Report were analyzed. The Cheongdo Family Happiness Report was conducted from October 13 to November 20, 2020, and a total of 286 family members' data were used for the final analysis. As a result of this study, stress was 2.77, and family healthy was 3.61. Happiness was 7.54, a sub-factor of happiness, life satisfaction was 5.25, positive emotion was 5.11, and negative emotion was 2.82. And Stress was found to have a negative effect on happiness, and family healthy was found to have a moderating effect on the effect of stress on happiness. Based on these results, this study proposes to consider family healthy in stress management programs and develop evidence-based family health programs to improve the happiness of local residents.
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to identify the mediating effects of family resilience and depression in a relation between family stress and psychological well-being among middle-aged. Method: The subjects were 409 of men and women between 40 to 59 living in D and G province. They completed the questionnaire on family stress, family resilience, depression, and psychological well-being. Correlation and structural equation models of SPSS 23.0 and AMOS 22.0 were used to examine the relations between the variables. Results: The results are as follows. First, family stress had no significant effect on psychological well-being of middle age men and women, while it directly influenced on family resilience and depression. Second, family resilience and depression had direct influence on psychological well-being. Third, there were significant mediating effects of family resilience and depression in a relationship between family stress and psychological well-being. Conclusions: Family stress has an indirect effect on psychological well-being among middle age men and women mediated by family resilience and depression. The result suggest that psychological well-being influenced by family stress can be improved by enhancing Family Resilience and reducing Depression.
The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of family stress, coping, family resources on psychological distress and the interactions with family solidarity and coping in unemployed female head. The sample was 101 unemployed female heads(without husband) who are living in Seoul. The results of this study showed that family solidarity had significant buffering effect to moderate relationship between family stress and psychological distress. But the effect of coping on psychological distress was not significant. This means that the family solidarity was very important to decrease the psychological distress(somatization, anxiety, depression) of unemployed female head.

The purpose of this study was to explore the effect of performance of living proprieties on family adaptability and self-esteem, centering on the married men and women residing in the city of Seoul. 220 respondents were randomly selected in July 2000 for the present research. The results of this study were as follows : First, the performance of living proprieties revealed a relatively high level and was shown a significant difference by sex, age, family type, religion, the number of children, experience of propriety education, value orientation, and the degree of communication. Second, family adaptability revealed a relatively high level and was shown a significant difference by family type, experience of propriety education, and the degree of communication. Self-esteem was shown a significant difference by the number of children and degree of communication. Third, background variable (age), the performance of living proprieties (communication manner, family decorum, social etiquette), and family adaptability had a significant effect on self-esteem. This implies that the performance of living proprieties rather than socio-demographic variables has a positive effect on self-esteem.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of family of origin experiences on self-esteem and marital conflict among married men and women. For this purpose, a survey was conducted using self-administered questionnaires with 311 married men and women. The results of the study were as follows: First, men and women's family of origin experience(family of origin health, parents' marital conflict, triangulation) were correlated with self-esteem and marital conflict. Second, results of multiple regression analyses showed that men and women's self-esteem was most powerful predictors of marital conflict. Finally, men's family of origin experiences(family of origin health, parents' marital conflict, triangulation) had a direct effect on marital conflict, and family of origin health had a indirect effect through men's self-esteem on marital conflict. Women's parents' marital conflict, triangulation had a direct effect on marital conflict, and family of origin health had a indirect effect through women's self-esteem on marital conflict.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the structural relationships among different variables related to school adjustment. 601 elementary school students residing in Pohang-City in Korea completed questionnaires about school adjustment, internal problem behavior, external problem behavior, family adaptability and family cohesion. A variance-covariance matrix of this sample was analyzed using AMOS 19.0, and the maximum likelihood minimization function. The goodness of fit was evaluated via SRMR, RMSEA with a 90% confidence interval, CFI, and TLI. The results were as follows: First, family adaptability, family cohesion, internal problem behavior and external problem behavior were all found to have a significant direct effect how the children adjusted to their school. Second, family adaptability, and family cohesion had a direct effect on internal problem behavior. Third, family cohesion had a direct effect on external problem behavior, but family adaptability had a substantial indirect effect on the children's external problem behavior that was mediated by their internal problem behavior. Fourth, internal problem behavior had a direct effect on external problem behavior.
This study invesitgated the mediation effect of self-resilience on the relationship between perceived family strength and adolescents' level of adjustment at school. Participants were 479 elementary and middle school students from Daejeon. Data were analysed by SPSS 12.0 and Structural Equation Modeling with AMOS 5.0. Results were as follows: Firstly, family strength gives a direct effect on adolescent's school adjustment. Secondly, family strength is mediated by self-resilience on adolescent's school adjustment. Thirdly, significant differences in the path coefficients of the two groups were not found. These results indicate that we should expand the subjects of family and juvenile welfare, including general adolescents and general families, in order to improve family strength. In addition, programs such as the personal relationship and confidence elevation programs should be enacted to support elementary students' self-resilience.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the effect of predictive factors related to family strength and develop a structural equation model that explains family strength among married working women. Methods: A hypothesized model was developed based on literature reviews and predictors of family strength by Yoo. This constructed model was built of an eight pathway form. Two exogenous variables included in this model were ego-resilience and family support. Three endogenous variables included in this model were functional couple communication, family stress and family strength. Data were collected using a self-report questionnaire from 319 married working women who were 30~40 of age and lived in cities of Chungnam province in Korea. Data were analyzed with PASW/WIN 18.0 and AMOS 18.0 programs. Results: Family support had a positive direct, indirect and total effect on family strength. Family stress had a negative direct, indirect and total effect on family strength. Functional couple communication had a positive direct and total effect on family strength. These predictive variables of family strength explained 61.8% of model. Conclusion: The results of the study show a structural equation model for family strength of married working women and that predicting factors for family strength are family support, family stress, and functional couple communication. To improve family strength of married working women, the results of this study suggest nursing access and mediative programs to improve family support and functional couple communication, and reduce family stress.
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate the acceptance of family diversity among college students and related variables. Method: Data were collected by a structured questionnaire with 280 students who attended in three universities located in J province. SPSS Statistics Program version 24.0 was used to analyze the collected data. To answer the research questions, descriptive statistics, t-test, F-test, Pearson's correlation analyses, and regression analyses were performed. Results: The major results of the survey were summarized as below. First, the acceptance of family diversity among college students was slightly higher than the middle level(M=12.11). Most students accepted nuclear family as a typical family. More than half of the students accepted single parent families, adaptive families, step families, unmarried mother families, childless couples, homosexual families, elderly women living alone, and families composed of siblings as a family. Second, there was a significant difference by religiosity. Students without religion were higher than their counterparts with religion in a level of family diversity acceptance. Among the individual factors, third, a level of traditional family value had a significant negative effect on a level of family diversity acceptance. And perspective taking had a positive effect on a level of family diversity acceptance. Fourth, among the family factors, parent-child open communication did not affect a level of family diversity acceptance. However, parents' gender egalitarian beliefs had a significant positive effect on a level of family diversity acceptance. Lastly, regarding the relative effects of the personal and family factors, the traditional family value had the largest effect on a level of family diversity acceptance among college students. Conclusions: Base on these results, the implications and limitations of the study were discussed.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of family resilient factors on the adaption of families with child with chronic disease. The study sample consisted 287 families with chronic illness child. The survey was done from July 1. 2007 to October 31. 2007. It was analysed that the effect of families resilience through structural equation model. Adequate fitness of the model was observed. The family resilience of families with chronic illness child has significantly positive effect on the family adaptation. Family stress had negative effect on family hardiness. Family hardiness had positive effect on family communication, and family communication had positive effect on social support. Social support had positive effect on family adaptation. According to this finding, intervention strategies focusing on in creasing resilient factors were suggested.
