This study analyzed the effect of family meals on the psychological problems of children. We performed focus group interviews (FGI) on the basic characteristics of family meals, and chose several scales (such as Child Behavior Checklist (CBCL), self-esteem, and a daily hassles questionnaire), to measure the psychological variables. We collected data from 442 dyads (mother-child) and used 440 from dyads. In our results, the frequency of family meals affected the psychological problems of children, especially aggression and emotional instability. The atmosphere during meals also affected depression/anxiety, concentration difficulties, emotional instability, self-esteem, peer relationships, and sociality. There were significant correlations between meal atmosphere, family bonding, maternal personality, and psychological problems of children. We performed covariation analysis to examine and control the influence of family bonding and maternal personality; despite controlling for these variables, family meals still influenced children's psychological problems. We conclude that the family meal is a significant variable that impacts the emotional and behavioral problems of children and stress the importance of frequent family meals.
This article is written on the ground that one of the major characteristics of Chinese New Period women's novels is about family dissolution and calling and it is examined based on analysis of "The Bathing Woman" by Tie Ning. In "The Bathing Woman", the family seems 'Regular' externally but it is actually fragmented internally. The author offers patriarchal perspective on 'Family' from the eyes of daughter of the family. The problems are classified into three categories. First, it is the problem of exclusiveness embedded in the essential characteristic of family represented by blood relation. Second, it is the research on the reason for family dissolution. Tie Ning finds the reason at 'Unmotherly mother, that is the lack of maternal instinct. Third, it is the expectation of the restoration of dissolved family. Tie Ning's indication of 'Family' is equal to 'Mother' and 'Mother' is the source and power that can heal and restore the dissolved family in her novel. It is expansion of maternal instinct represented by protection and caring into 'Practical action' and it is meaningful in a way that it expands the principle of maternal instinct and sublimates it into universal morality. However, it should not be overlooked that it could be another moral system that could suppress the females in other ways.
The purpose of this study is to define the structure and characteristics of the time shared with parents and children. The three specific questions are asked. (1) How much time do parents and children share with? (2) What kind of effects do the demographic factors and the psychosocial factors have on the time shared with parents and children? (3) And how can the families be classified into different types according to the time shared with parents and children? For the empirically proved answers the 161 full0time housewife couples and the 174 wife employed couples in Seoul and Kyoungki-do are surveyed with a self reported time diary and a structured questionare. Such statistical methods as frequency percentage mean tobit analysis cluster analysis oneway ANOVA and Ducan's multiple range test are used to analize the data Main findings from this empirical study can be summarised like this. First the two largest parts of the time shared with parents and children are eating and TV atching. Second the eldest child's age degree of wife's education the number of children wife's employment status family income degree of the family cohesion the couple's attitude toward marriage and role salience are significantly related to the various kind of time shared with parents and children. Third the families are classified by the time shared with parents and children into three types. type 1: the family shared least time with type 2: the family shared passive leisure with type 3: the family shared active leisure with. Type 3 has very distinctive characteristics. This type of family's eldest child is youger than any other family's and this type of family has a full time housewife. And their family cohesion is higher and their couple's relationship is oriented more companionship.
Purpose: This study is a descriptive and comparative study that compares health state and school adaptation between children in divorced family and in normal family. Study results will provide a basic data for the development of an intervention program designed to help children in divorced family adjust to their crisis. Method: The study subjects consisted of 700 children in 4th. 5th or 6th elementary school grade, residing Seoul and Kyunggi regions. Among these subjects, 123 were children with divorced family and 577 were children with normal family. The health status of the subjects was measured by Health Symptom Questionnaire developed by Shin and revised by the investigators. The instrument consisted of 30 items measuring physical and emotional health symptoms. The level of school adaptation of the subjects was measured by School Adaptation Scale developed by Lee, which consisted of 4 dimensions with 20 items what measures relationship with peer students, learning activity, observance of regulation, and participation of school activity. The investigators visited the schools and collected data in the classes using the questionnaire after explaining the purpose and procedures of the study to the children. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, $\yen\"{o}2$-test, t-test, ANOVA using the SPSS PC + statistical program. Result: First, the mean health state score in children with normal family (M=11.99) was higher than that in children with divorced family (M=19.15), showing a significant difference (t=-6.51, p=.000) between the two groups, which suggests that children with normal family have better health state than children with divorced family. Second, the mean school adaptation score in children with normal family (M=38.99) was higher than that in children with divorced family (M=26.97), showing a significant difference between the two groups (t=104.07, p=.000), which suggests that the school adaptation of children with normal family is better than that of children with divorced family. Third, in comparison of health state between the two groups by general characteristics. there were significant differences between the two groups in sex. the most contributing factor to health status of the children, school year. birth order, religion, school achievement, amount of monthly pocket money, parents level of formal education, occupation of parents, economic status (p<.05). Forth, in comparison of the level of school adaptation between the two groups by general characteristics, there were significant differences between the two groups in most variables (p<.05), suggesting that children with normal family had better capacity of school adaptation than children with divorced family. Conclusion: As a result. this study showed that the parent's divorce had great influence on children's health status and school adaptation capacity. The implication for nursing is that there is a need to develop supportive interventions for the high-risk children who have decreased health states and school adaptation capacity due to the divorce of their parents. In addition, it is recommended that further studies should be conducted to explore protective factors for the prevention of health and adaptation problems in children.

This study aimed to explore the moderating effect of family strengths on the effect of work-family conflict on happiness in dual-income married couples. This study included 316 married employees who live in Seoul and have children attending junior high or lower grade schools. A survey was conducted December 1-30, 2018 by distributing questionnaires to child care centers, kindergartens, schools, companies, religious institutions, and other locations. When the work role conflicts from family life roles were more highly perceived in dual-income married couples. Moreover, family→work conflict and an interaction term of family problem-solving ability were identified as variables that had significant effects on happiness. Third, family problem-solving ability was identified as a moderator buffering the effect of work-family conflict on happiness.

Two subspecies are known to Family Hylidae(Order Anura) in Korea : namely , Hylaarborea japonica GUENTHER and H.a.stepheni BOULENGER, and they have been hitherto distinguished as different subspecies from four characteristics : the rate of interorbital to incternasal length, the rate of diameter of tympanum to diameter of 3 rd finger disc, the rate of the length of inner metatarsal tubercle to diameter of 3 rd finger disc, and the rate of inner metatarsal tubercle to the length of lst toe. The author has compared the above to subspecies for the characteristics with 123 individuals collected from ten different localities in Korea and has found that their fluctation curves overlap each other. The author considers, therefore, that the four characteristics could not be assumed as keys for the classification of the two subspecies and has reached the conclusion that these two subspecies should be regarded as one subspecies and Hyla arborea japonica GUENTHER should be given to both of them as the subspecies name.
