A Korean fairy tale "The uproot of an archenemy in the underworld" is discussed and interpreted from the perspective of analytical psychology. The essence of the story is as follows; When the three princesses were kidnapped by an archenemy in the underworld, a warrior appeared to save the princesses. He went to the underworld and killed the archenemy with the princesses help. When they tried to come back to the castle, he had difficulties because king's soldiers betrayed him. But a old wise man and a flying horse helped him to come back to the castle. He killed the soldiers that betrayed him and married one of the princesses and got the wealth from the underworld. The kingdom could be prosperous and peace because of the marriage. The psychological meaning of the three princesses were taken by the archenemy is that the archetypal shadow appeared from the unconscious and grasped a part of consciousness and repressed it in unconsciousness. This status could be called the lost of soul. So the warrior ego went through an unconscious trip, saving his anima from the archetypal shadow, and taking her back to consciousness and renewing the collective consciousness. The ego's trip is the individuation process like Shaman in primitive society. This fairy tale has hero motif. It reveals the feature of archetypal shadow. It also shows us man can make conscious with cautious attitude in the individuation process.
The objective of this study is to compare the modern transformation of a folk tale in each country. A folk tale is a story about a man who obtained an ability to see the original look of humans with tiger's eyebrows successfully found a new wife suitable for him by using them. In Korea, China, Japan, and India, folk tales similar to have been transmitted. 'Tiger's Eyebrows' is differently shown in each country like 'Wolf's Eyebrows' in Japan, 'Tiger's Whisker' in China, and 'Vulture's Feather' in India. This paper looked for works that modernly transformed this folk tale in each country. In the results, there were diverse works in each country such as fairy tale book, musical, short story, and game in Korea, full-length novel in China, and fairy tale, animation, and cartoon in Japan. Meanwhile, in India, there was only a mention of the folk tale in a collection of papers. Among them, there were works showing the significance of modern transformation in the aspect of genre or contents like a short story of Korea, a full-length novel of China, and a cartoon of Japan. The Korean novel shows that human is a being with the animal's instinct while human tries to ignore it. On the other hand, the Chinese novel shows that humans are not much different from animals especially in case when facing pains or death. The Japanese cartoon shows that it is meaningless to feel shame as human in the world which is filled with monsters or animals. In India, there were no works modernly transformed because Indian folk tales might be stories based on the mythic belief rather than fun.
Throughout the agraian society, industrial society, information society, and the knowledge-based society, the word father has become the representation of the law, oder, control, protection, and discipline. This study, with traditional fairy tale "Le petit chaperon rouge", aim to analyze the child readers a notion familly around 'me' and conceiving the father as the unit of the institution; also, in the Korean film , cinema audiences feeling keenly the necessity of the conventional family values and looking for the poster of principal agent of law and order. Generally the father is protector of 'me' and simutaneously, is incorporal being; even if he is inessential, he has, only by the name, great influence with people(law, order, control, discipline, are operating only with the name as the father God does). Our study will show how the signifier father operates and what similarity is between the film and the traditional fairy tale. A father is recognized as a tyrant or criminal, but a man is always realized to undertake a duty of resisting unjust powers and protecting nonperson. Those opposing structures was well represented in epic works such as"Le petit chaperon rouge" and . The father described in children's tale appeared as a symbol of desire and oppression, therefore youngster readers realized around 'Me' the concept of family through the absence of a father and received the father as a unit in the system. A father in a film has been described as a protector of nonperson, and a main part in the institution and order of traditional family. In both genre, the psychological signifiant of father still has been shown based on the symbol of father as a social institution.
A study on a Russian fairy tale entitled "Seven Stars" was conducted from the perspective of analytical psychology. The plot goes as follows. Once upon a time, a village in Russia was suffering from severe drought. Villagers were dying of thirst, and crops were withering day by day. One night, a little girl left their house carrying a wooden dipper to find water for her sick mother by herself. However, water was nowhere to be found. She felt tired and fell asleep. When she woke up, the moon was already over her head, and the dipper had been filled with water. On her way home to give the water to her mother, she found a dog lying on the ground. The dog was also dying of excessive thirst, so she gave the dog a handful of water. Then the wooden dipper suddenly turned into a silver dipper. When she had finally arrived home and her mother has drunk the water, the silver dipper changed into a golden dipper. At that moment, an old man showed up and asked for water. The little girl gave him water. When the old man stared at the water, she realized that there were seven diamonds twinkling like stars in the dipper. The water never ran out. Surprisingly enough, the seven diamonds suddenly soared up into the sky and eventually formed a constellation of the Big Dipper. The water was shared with the other villagers who, then, recovered their strength. The severe drought came to an end, and the villagers danced together with joy. In this fairy tale, the severe drought symbolizes devastation caused by a unidirectional stream of consciousness while the little girl represents a new function, which shows the value of women who can heal and restore from that devastation. Symbolized in a fairy tale character such as 'a daughter' or 'a little girl', the new function eventually reaches up to the value which leads and affects the group as well as individuals. To conclude, this new function represents the unconscious process whose role is to revitalize the maternity and resolve the problems posed to a group as well as individuals.
There are many versions of the thai folktale "Pla Boo Thong" in Thailand, which is a typical type of stepmother story and in many ways resembles Cinderella story. This study, the author took 6 versions, some from books, some from internet. The main story of those 6 version is consist of the death of mother, stepmother and step sister, the maltreat of the stepmother to the heroine, tiding over the critical moments with the help of the dead mother and others, getting married with the king and happy of the heroine, death of the heroine by the slander of stepmother, posing as a queen of the stepsister, reincarnation of the dead heroine, meeting with the king again, and punishment and the stepmother and stepsister. The main theme of this narrative is a conflict in the polygamic family and is followed by the pattern of the Cinderella tale such as the distinct contrast of Good and Evil. This tale also teaches teachings of Buddha such as the punitive justice, the promotion of virtue and reproval of vice, and forgiveness. And otherwise it gives the people the courage and hope to overcome fortitude in their life.

The aim of this paper is to evaluate the text of six alternative versions of Korean fairy tale The Sun and the Moon. So the author took a textual bibliographical study of those versions in a comparative analysis of titles, backgrounds, characters. styles and functions of them. On the basis of this comparative analysis, the version of Hyo-Sun Eu was selected as a good text. In the version of Hyo-Sun Eu. if the helper In the story, King of Heaven represented in the form of Taoism would change into Heaven represented in the form of God, and the literary style change into the colloquial style, and the last scene that the Sun Brother turns to the Sun Sister and the Moon Sister to the Moon Brother would be removed, this version will be the best one.
The 21st century are seeing a large number of performing arts, and one of them, opera is evolving, transforming itself as one of total arts. Besides, the costume in performing art which play a major role in opera's visual impact, characterize figures, set the tone for performance and greatly contribute to the perfection of the stage. Under these circumstances, the study developed designs of stage costumes and built a full-scale production of the Magic Flute, one of three greatest Mozart operas. The opera based on a fiction, is still popular today since it is a fantastic fairy tale introducing moral and ethical lessons. The play's background itself is Egypt. But due to its fairy-take-like storyline, it has been performed focusing on various concepts rather than on costumes prepared through background research. As such, this study conducted research on designs of stage costumes that contains the element of Egypt and also take athleticism and comfort into consideration. The results derived from the study were as follows. First, traditional dresses of ancient Egypt were used as a basis while adding some modem touch in terms of forms or colors, which resulted in a new design. Second, a variety of images were captured using textures and colors that fit the characteristics of attributes of the figures. Third painting techniques were used to help highlight the symbolic image of Egypt-simple, not heavy and extravagant-with fairy-tale-like fantasy.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the development and application of strategies using fairy tales in elementary school science. For this study, many fairy tales were searched in terms of various characteristics and educational value of the tales. Five fairy tales were selected and reconstructed to suit the 'mirrors and lenses' unit of 5th graders' school science, and teaching strategies using the fairy tales were developed to be used in six lessons. To investigate the effects of instruction using fairy tales, pre/post tests for scientific attitude were administered. To analyze students' perception of their classes, a simple survey was administered through questionnaires. We found from this study that the students related the fairy tales with their own experiences and took an active part in the class that used them. Also, instruction using fairy tales had positive effects on their scientific attitude. Many students said that the science classes were interesting, and the method using fairy tales encouraged students to study hard as well as helped them to understand the context. It was concluded that instruction using fairy tales was an effective method in terms of enhancing learning motivation, encouraging more inquiries, more opportunities to apply the scientific concept, and more positive scientific attitude. We discussed the strategies using fairy tales for implementation in elementary science classes as well.
The fairy tale 'The King's Ass's Ears' is a simple story about a king and a barber. The king's 'Ass's ears' is discovered by the barber, who becomes sick due to his inability to reveal the secret. He eventually confesses the secret in a deep pit and covers it with soil, but a reed grows in that spot and reveals the secret when it sways in the wind. This fairy tale is registered in Stith Thompson's narrative type AT 782 as 'King Midas and His Ass's Ears', corresponding to a well-known story of King Gyeongmun in Korea, as it is published in elementary textbooks. To avoid rigidity in our conscious life, we need continuous renewal via contact with the flow of mental events in our unconscious. From the aspect of analytical psychology, the King's 'Ass's ears' enables irrational contact with the fundamental emotions lost in the flow of life. The barber symbolizes spiritual transformation, and the reed swaying in the wind symbolizes the revelation of secretive knowledge associated with the divine. The king can hear the sound of all creation and become one with it, which was the will of the divine. The Self, as the psychic totality of an individual and paradoxically also represents the regulating center of the collective unconscious, continually seeks to merge and transform with the lost primal layer of humanity, which has now become distant and discarded due to the development of human consciousness.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of integrated teaching and learning method using augmented reality for effective promotion of child - friendly attitude and environmental preservation attitude and explored its applicability. For this purpose, based on the augmented reality fairy tale, we designed an experience - oriented integrated teaching and learning method such as reading book, story - telling, drawing, environmental conservation practice activity. The experimental group was divided into two groups: augmented reality reading fairy tales (A) and children's book reading fairy tales (B). First, interest, immersion, and empathy were higher in the application environment of integrated learning teaching method based on Augmented Reality. Second, there was no difference between the two groups in content understanding. Third, in terms of expressiveness, it was verified that various expressions were expressed in the applying environment of the integrated teaching - learning method based on augmented reality through drawing activities. Fourth, in practice activities, more students were practicing in the augmented reality - based integrated teaching - learning method applied environment, and the number of practice activities of individual students was also confirmed. This study suggests that the application of the integrated teaching and learning method can enhance the effect of education when using the smart teaching media using the augmented reality in early childhood education.
