To reduce facility management costs and safety concerns due to aging of facilities, it is important to estimate the future facilities' condition based on facility management data and utilize predictive information for management decision making. To this end, this study proposed a methodology to estimate facility elements' condition using XGBoost. To validate the proposed methodology, this study constructed sample data for road bridges and developed a model to estimate condition grades of major elements expected in the next inspection. As a result, the developed model showed satisfactory performance in estimating the condition grades of deck, girder, and abutment/pier (average F1 score 0.869). In addition, a testbed was established that provides data management function and element condition estimation function to demonstrate the practical applicability of the proposed methodology. It was confirmed that the facility management data and predictive information in this study could help managers in making facility management decisions.
Conventional integral effect test facilities were constructed to enable the precise observation of thermal-hydraulic phenomena and reactor behaviors under postulated accident conditions to prove reactor safety. Although these facilities improved the understanding of thermal-hydraulic phenomena and reactor safety, applications of new technologies and their performance tests have been limited owing to the cost and large scale of the facilities. Various nuclear technologies converging 4th industrial revolution technologies such as artificial intelligence, drone, and 3D printing, are being developed to improve plant management strategies. Additionally, new conceptual passive safety systems are being developed to enhance reactor safety. A new integral effect test facility having a noticeable scaling ratio, i.e., the (UNIST reactor innovation loop (URI-LO), is designed and constructed to improve the technical quality of these technologies by performance and feasibility tests. In particular, the URI-LO, which is constructed using a transparent material, enables better visualization and provides physical insights on multidimensional phenomena inside the reactor system. The facility design based on three-level approach is qualitatively validated with preliminary analyses, and its functionality as a test facility is confirmed through a series of experiments. The design feature, design validation, functionality test, and future utilization of the URI-LO are introduced.

Given a bill of materials (BOM) tree T labeled by the breadth first search (BFS) order from node 0 to node n and a general network ${\Im}=(V,A)$, where V={1,2,...,m} is the set of production facilities and A is the set of arcs representing transportation links between any of two facilities, we assume that each node of T stands for not only a component. but also a production stage which is a possible stocking point and operates under a periodic review base-stock policy, We also assume that the random demand which can be achieved by a suitable service level only occurs at the root node 0 of T and has a normal distribution $N({\mu},{\sigma}^2)$. Then our integrated model of facility location problems and safety stock optimization problem (FLP&SSOP) is to identify both the facility locations at which partitioned subtrees of T are produced and the optimal assignment of safety stocks so that the sum of production cost, inventory holding cost, and transportation cost is minimized while meeting the pre-specified service level for the final product. In this paper, we first formulate (FLP&SSOP) as a nonlinear integer programming model and show that it can be reformulated as a 0-1 linear integer programming model with an exponential number of decision variables. We then show that the linear programming relaxation of the reformulated model has an integrality property which guarantees that it can be optimally solved by a column generation method.
We carry out a demonstration project to verify performance of a Home- Smart Cabinet Panel(H-SCP) at the child care facility. It is difficult to prevent an electrical disaster using a existing cabinet panel because electrical events are invisible and unforeseeable. So we construct a integrated information system with a Home-Smart Cabinet Panel(H-SCP) for management of low-voltage customers. The integrated information system with the H-SCP maintain the transmitted data from H-SCP, alert a electrical event to a administrator and show a state of customer health in real time respectively. A manager of electrical safety can prevent electrical disaster to maintain electrical facilities after analysis on the integrated information system.

The objectives of this study is to: (1) develop how applications for driving simulator of national highway safety designs when those are appeared; (2) examine the degree to which those geometric designs of the horizontal and vertical profile; and (3) search positive safety and passive highway safety design of the point at which highway alignment factors initiate driving safety to facility or highway design.
Toxic gases are managed by High Pressure Gas Safety Control Act. Toxic Gases are "31 designated species and each gas of which the permissible concentration($LC_{50}$) is equal to or less than 5000 ppm as defined in High Pressure Gas Safety Control Act.". Korean toxic gas usage in accordance with the growth of the electronic industry has increased explosively. The demand of toxic gas research in domestic university laboratories has grown together. But the research associated with toxic gas safety management in the domestic laboratory is nonexistent state. In this study, we identified weak points of toxic gas safety management through a survey of domestic university laboratory facilities. This paper presented toxic gas safety measures in order to overcome those weak points. Also this paper developed a standard checklist to improve and ensure safe management of toxic gas facility in accordance with the proposed measures. This research is to enforce safety management of toxic gas facilities in domestic university laboratory and it will provide safety guidelines for every laboratory.
This study was carried out to establish the database system by using the safety inspection and in-depth inspection results for infrastructures such as bridges, tunnels, dams, and water supplies. A classification system of each facility was proposed by standardizing items for inspection & diagnosis in order to automatize work process. Also, it justifies data structure based on database from pre-investigation to field survey, evaluation of facilities, and report making. In addition to this, it suggests improvement plans of relative regulations and guidelines such as Facility Management System(FMS), operational regulation, and inspection detailed guideline to make inspection result database of infrastructures which can be used effectively.
The broadcasting system for the customer safety and conveniency is one of the important convenience facilities taking charge of customer guidance, emergency situation broadcasts for the people waiting at the platform, waiting lounge and train approaching broadcasts. To maintain this broadcasting facility local management control system(LMC) is needed. LMC observes operation status of the facility components which is set up at station and the observation results are confirmed through out remote management PC installed in the jurisdiction branch office. The staff only observes and confirms the errors of the electrical power source at broadcasting facility components accordingly the real mechanical troubles are detected by on-the-spot survey. this paper deals with existing broadcasting system only acting as a simple observation function and the research of LMC function extension which controls, monitors and tests broadcasting facility.
Chemicals Control Act have been strengthened to control more safely hazardous chemicals from 2015. In particular, the standards for the installation and management of handling facilities was enhanced with specific regulations depending on type of the facilities and the hazardous chemicals. However, some standards for handling facilities caused difficulties in implementing the strengthened standards due to various field conditions, such as lack of physical space. The Ministry of Environment is implementing Safety Assessment System (SAS) to solve these problems since 2018. However, many plants have difficulties in preparing alternative methods to pass the safety evaluation. The purpose of this study was to review and analyze the SAS and to suggest alternative measures in terms of management and technical aspects through the case study of hydrochloric acid storage tanks. The following safety solutions were suggested for handling facilities that had insufficient the space and capacity for the retaining wall due to physical space. Firstly, insufficient space was resolved by introducing equipment relocation or demolition, and retaining wall expansion. Secondly, the wall of the surrounding buildings was used as an alternative to the retaining wall with additional chemical resistant treatment. Finally, sensor installation and facility inspection were suggested as ways to improve chemical safety. Therefore, improvement of chemical accident prevention system is required not only in terms of facilities supplementation but also management aspect. The results of this study are expected to be available for similar facilities and will be based on the preparation of additional safety assessment as alternatives measures in the future.
Industrial facilities need design to predict and reduce noise from design to prevent and reduce noise. The purpose of this study is to predict worker's environment and evaluate safety by analyzing noise inside underground blower room and air compressor room with fluid machinery in waste facility. This waste incineration facility was analyzed based on the ground floor, ground floor blower chamber, and air compressor chamber. The results of SPL(Sound Pressure Level) analysis at 1.5m away, which are frequently used to measure the SPL as a noise source, are as follows. SPL of basement level: 46.80[dB], SPL of ground layer: 48.57[dB]. As a result, it was expected that the noise level would be considerably lower than the 8 hours 50[dB] noise exposure per day.
