This paper describes the investigation on current state of cold storage facilities, and analysis on the demand prediction in the near future. And based on the analysis results, we prospect the scale of cold storage facilities in the near future. The main analysis results are summarized by the followings ; The present circumstances of cold storage facility are determined by investigating actual loading capacity, average stock amounts, and return number of cold storage facility. From the results, the present situation for cold storage facility is about 3% over. It is found that the average stock amounts increase gradually, and accordingly that the demand of cold storage facility is predicted to be increased, resulting that the capacity of cold storage facilities in 2013 expects to reach up to 5,250,000 ton. It is considered that the results of demand prediction has significant implications on the management of cold storage facility in the near future.
The increase in oil prices and the rising environmental concerns are boost the electric vehicle supply. Vehicle manufactures understand this trend quite well and plan to increase the production of electric vehicle(EV) such as Nissan LEAF and GM VOLT etc.. The growth of intermittent renewable energy sources such as solar and wind power requires utilities to find additional grid coupled energy storage and regulation capacity. EVs have a battery pack and a charger. The charger can be able to deliver power back to the grid from the vehicle's battery as well as charge the battery. The concept of deploying EVs to stabilize the electric power grid is generally referred to as Vehicle-to-Grid(V2G). We present the grid service using V2G.
There are customer services jointly provided by two facilities so that each customer will complete the course made up of both facilities' sub-services. The two facilities are assumed invested respectively by an infrastructure owner and one subordinate facility owner, whose partnership is built on their capital investments. This paper presents a mathematical model of Stackelberg competition between the two facility owners to derive their optimal Nash equilibrium. In this study, each facility owner's profit is consisted of fixed revenue fractions of sold services, operating costs (including depreciation cost) and maintenance costs of her facility. The maintenance costs of one facility are incurred both by failures and deterioration due to usage. Moreover, for both facilities, failures are rectified immediately by minimal repairs and preventive maintenance is carried out at a fixed time epoch. Additional assumptions are also employed to develop the model such as customer arrivals are manipulated to follow a Poisson process, and each facility's lifetime is independently Weibull-distributed. The Stackelberg game proceeds as follows. At the first stage of decision making process, the infrastructure owner (acting as a leader) decides the allocation of revenue shares based on her self-interest. After observing the allocation of revenue shares, the subordinate facility owner determines her own optimal price of services. This paper investigates actions and reactions of the two partners in the system. Then analytical conditions are proposed to achieve a unique optimal Nash equilibrium. Finally, some suggestions for further research are discussed.
The purpose of this study was to analyze the elderly welfare facilities in Germany, which already entered into the aging society. Especially, the multipurpose and large elderly welfare facilities, where more than 50 elderly people lived, were analyzed. For this purpose, a field study was conducted between January 13 and February 3, 2005. This study tried to find out the architectural characteristics and trends of elderly welfare facility. There are about 9200 elderly welfare facilities in Germany, and about 7% of the elderly people over 65 years old live there. As for the multipurpose elderly welfare facilities, there are about 5800 facilities, 64% of the total facilities. The elderly welfare facility carries out single function at the early stage, and adds up another functions step by step. In general, the facility is managed with focusing on two main functions (care function and residential function). In a small town, the care function is the major one of the facility. However, in the city, the major functions of the facilities are both care and residential function, which are elderly residence or safeguard house.
It is focused on a methodology to establish a optimal inspection cycle of electrical facility of railroad Decision method of optimal inspection cycle is a process which establishes maintenance plan for facilities' immanent function as using reliability theory in operation term In order to ensure normal operation in a given condition, the decision method is logical for selecting effective maintenance plan to consider characteristic of system In estimation of failure rate, critical facility is selected firstly. After that, proper distribution function on each facility is decided to investigate distribution function for extraction of failure rate. Next, cost produced by the case that facility's failure is occurred is surveyed. Finally, maintenance method developed until now is investigated, before suitable model for the facility applying maintenance method is developed, and that maintenance decision is made. Therefore, this process is the method to find optimal inspection cycle for reasonable cost and effective reliability on facility.
This paper aims to review how pre-processing facility of agricultural products can be established and operated. First of all, industry and its enterprises of pre-processing agricultural products are analyzed from the national perspective. Especially, five well-known pre-processing business units operated by producers' organizations are introduced including Ansung Machoom Agricultural Cooperative. Changwon City in Gyeongnam Province was chosen for a case study. Demand for local agricultural products by school feeding and other institutional food service in Changwon area is estimated and it is compared with the supply of agricultural products produced in the region. Questionnaire survey was done for school nutritionists and the main results are summarized. In the final stage, basic ideas for pre-processing facility of agricultural products in Changwon area are proposed considering the previous analyses. These ideas include size of the facility, participants and scope of the business, and location. Virtual profitability analysis is also conducted for the facility. Some suggestions for the proposed facility to be more successful in the future are suggested at the conclusion.
This study examines the current status on the supply of community facilities based on the supply criteria of present welfare facilities. Analyzing satisfaction of residents about community facilities based on physical supply criteria. The study sets up the concept and proposed trend of the related studies and distinction through the examination of previous researches. Next, the present systematical supply criteria, was used to make indication in order to propose the promotion of improvement on supply criteria for community facilities. Multi dimensional analyzing system and the satisfaction level of the community facility was used to analyze the relationship between the two. The direction of policy improvement according to the analysis is as per the following. First, it is necessary to improve supply criteria of household to guarantee the minimal amount of space. Second, specification of the minimum distance of community facility to residential area in the complex is needed. Also, the presentation of bottom boundary line of the formation area size to expand the size up to minimal level of size is needed. Third, resident exercise facility supply criteria among the community facility supply criteria need to be improved from the number of household base to the size for each household base. Forth, resident resting facility criteria among the community facility supply criteria should be changed from the present criteria of one facility per five hundred households.
This study was conducted to develop proper model for cold storage facility that could of for uniform heat movement and air movement f3r green grocery and improve improper design of the existing container-type cold storage facility. For that reason, new model(dome-type) cold storage facility was developed using 3-D CFD(computational fluid dynamics) simulation. The size was 6m${\times}$6m${\times}$5m. Its size and configuration were same to simulation model. Unit cooler was designed to send cold air in 4 side ways. A dome-type cold storage facility showed uniform distributions of air temperature and velocity because cold air was forced to move down along the ceiling and the wall and then circulated to the unit cooler from the central part of the floor. Dome-type cold storage facility also showed by low wind velocity, below 1 m/s that could minimized cold damage and quality deterioration.
For university facility and space management to be public, and to increase the administrational efficiency, this research suggests an efficient as well as an objective evaluation system/index to allow national and university finances to contribute towards higher education. According to the result of this study, evaluation system for university facility can be widely divided into two categories; quality and space management. First, quality management is subdivided into three groups in order for quantitative management, school site and building area, secured building, and financial affairs and expense management. In order for an effective and appropriate space management, the second category of space management proposes seven subdivisions. Based on these subdivisions, quality management on university facility contains 10 evaluation items with marking system which allows perfect score of 50 points. The space management category contains 19 evaluation items and the marking system allows perfect score of 100 points. Therefore, this study developed total of 29 evaluation items for university facility management with marking system that allows perfect score of 150 points. The suggested evaluation system and items will be used as a valuable foundation for efficient and objective university facility management.
Facility layout problems (FLP) are usually treated as design problems. Lack of systematic and objective tools to compare design alternatives results in decision-making to be dominated by the experiences or preferences of designers or managers. To increase objectivity and effectiveness of decision-making in facility layout selections, a decision support model is necessary. We proposed a decision model, which regards the FLP as a multi-attribute decision making (MADM) problem. We identify sets of attributes crucial to layout selections, quantitative indices for attributes, and methods of ranking alternatives. For a requested facility layout design, many alternatives could be developed. The enormous alternatives, various attributes, and comparison of assigned qualitative values to each attribute, form a complicated decision problem. To treat facility layout selection problems as a MADM problem, we used the linear assignment method to rank before selecting those high ranks as candidates. We modelled the application of the Nemawashi process to simulate the group decision-making procedure and help efficiently achieve agreement. The electronics manufacturing service (EMS) industry has frequent and costly facility layout modifications. Our models are helpful to them. We use an electronics manufacturing service company to illustrate the decision-making process of our models.
