  • As the manufacturing capacity needs for large size LCD TV shifts very fast into next generation, processing and test equipment makers face more difficult challenges in accommodating productivity, reliability and lead time of panel makers as well as the prerequisite of high process quality. In this paper, AKT will discuss its new innovative productivity solutions in PECVD (Plasma Enhanced Chemical Vapor Deposition), as the key thin film process system, and EBT (Electron Beam Test), as the key array test system, for the huge glass size with surface dimension larger than 2 meter by 2 meter.

  • It has been well-blown that sandwich structures are efficient to resist bending loads by increasing the moment of inertia of the panel. However, the accurate theoretical prediction of failure load and its optimization of sandwich beams for strength under concentrated loads were so complicated. Moreover, the appropriate selection of the variables, such as face thickness, core density and core thickness of the sandwich beam with many theories has continuously researched to satisfy for the given strength to weight structural requirement. There will be interesting to investigate the effect of those variables with its optimization for the load resistance.

  • The frictional characteristics of galvanized sheet steels(GA, EG, EGF, EGN) for automobiles were studied and compared with that of cold rolled sheet steel. A draw bead tester which simulates metal flow through a draw bead in stamping die face was used to measure coefficients of friction of galvanized sheet steels for four kinds of lubricants. Stamping formability of galvanized sheet steels for quarter outer panel was examined. The results show that stamping formability and friction characteristics were mainly influenced by the nature of zinc coating, surface roughness and micro hardness of coated layer, and proved to be very sensitive to the lubricant used.

  • A PSD which cooperates with train door provides safety and convenience for passengers. In order to cooperate with train door, the PSD should interface between the PSD control system and the control units of train door. This interface is generally performed in signaling system(ATC/ATO), however, the lines which don't have the interface functionality in the signaling system, it is required to have additional "PSD inter face system" to communicate between train and PSD. In this paper, we propose a safe PSD interface methodology by discussing interlocked control between train door and PSD, recognition of accuracy stop point, troubleshooting logic and log of troubles and driver panel which are adopted in Inchon line1.

  • In this study, ultimate strength characteristics of clamped sandwich panels with metal faces and an elastic isotropic core under combined in-plane compression and lateral pressure loads are investigated to verify the applicability of the ultimate strength design formula for ship structures. Alternative elastomer-cored steel sandwich panels are selected instead of the conventional bottom stiffened panels for a Suezmax-class tanker and then the ultimate strength characteristics of the selected sandwich panels are examined by using nonlinear finite element analysis. The change in the ultimate strength characteristics due to the change in the thickness of the face plate and core as well as the amplitude of lateral pressure are summarized and compared with the results obtained by using the ultimate strength design formula and nonlinear finite element analysis. The insights and conclusions developed in the present study will be useful for the design and development of applications for sandwich panels in double hull tanker structures.

  • In this paper, we propose a multimodal biometric embedded system. It is designed to support face, iris, fingerprint and vascular pattern recognition. We use a S3C2440A based on ARM926T core processor that is made in Samsung. The system has support various external device interfaces for multi biometric sensors, and RFID/Smart Card reader/writer. Additionally, it has a 6" LCD panel and numeric keypad for easy GUI. The embedded system offers useful environments to develop better biometric algorithms for stand alone biometric system and accelerator hardware modules for real time operation.

  • Details are given of an study of the characteristics of field-induced electron emission from hydrogen-free high $sp^3$ content(>90%) amorphous diamond (a-D) film deposited on heavily doped ($\rho$<0.01 $\Omega\cdot\textrm{cm}$) n-type monocrystalline Si(111) substrate. It is demonstrated that a-D film has excellent electron field emission properties. Emission current can reach 0.9 $\mu$A at applied field as low as 1 V/$\mu\textrm{m}$, and emission current density can be obtained about several mA/$\textrm{cm}^2$. The emission current is stable when the beginning current is at 50 $\mu$A within 72 hours. Uniform fluorescence display of electron emission from whole face of the a-D film under the electric field of 10~20 V/$\mu\textrm{m}$ was also observed. It can be considered that the contribution of excellent electron emission property results from its smooth, uniform, amorphous surface and high $sp^3$ content of the a-D films.

  • Current domestic building market is in the face of a tise in construction cost as a result of labor cost and materials problems, so improvements for productivity are doing their best for finding a way out of the difficulties. But the most of technical of from work is just considered the basic role and shape. As for environment protection, the utilization of waste concrete is important. But many of studies were interesting on the resource recycling for structural concrete. The purpose of this study is the development of thin precast form using recycled aggregate and the assembling systems for permanent form by cast-in-place.

  • In this study, MIG welding was performed on extruded 6005A-T6 material, which is used in the base panel of railway vehicles. The material was considered as the experimental base material, and argon shielding gas and ER5356 and ER4043 filler metals were used as the consumable welding materials. Welding coupons were prepared under various welding conditions by using an auto-welding system that various welding conditions applied 2.5Hz and 4.5Hz the pulse frequency of SynchroPuls function of welding machine and 1.0mm and 1.5mm of root face affect the weld penetration of welding joint. The welding current and voltage were also varied for this testing. On the basis of the results obtained, optimum welding conditions are proposed.

  • The purposes of this study were, first, to investigate retention levels of toxic elements and oxide individual plies for each panel and, second, to examine disproportioning of individual toxic elements Thirty five water gum plywood panels were treated with a copper-chromium-arsenic preservative (CCA) by the soaking process as the treament time were applied. Such individual plies at a distance of 2.5cm, 7.5cm from the edge were assayed for CuO, $CrO_3$, and $As_2O_5$ on the basis of copper, chromium and arsenic content by Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry. In these experiments, 12mm thickness plywood panels made of water gum, which were selling, were selected for the preservative treatment. Treating solutions were prepared for 10%, dilute solution of copper-chromium-arsenic preservative and then 1, 3, 6, 12 and 24 hours soaking trements in CCA preservative were applied. The results obtained are as follows: 1. The retention of total oxide in the face and back plies (1+7) retained more than the retention of total oxide in the other plies. The total oxide retention for the individual plies except the face and back plies (1+7) was showed in the following orders; cross plies (3+5), cross plies (2+6), core ply (4). 2. The retentions of total oxide increased as the increase of treatment time. The CCA treated plywood retained high levels of total oxide retention in the face and back plies (1+7). 3. All the retentions in the face and back plies (1+7) is over 5Kg/$m^3$, New Zealand Timber Preservation Standards Specification, and after 6 hours, the retentions in the cross plies (3+5) is over 4. The relative penetration of copper, chromium, and arsenic were not affected by the treatment time. The proportion of arsenic decreased in relation to both copper and chromium and the proportion of copper increased in relation to both chromium and arsenic. 5. A disproportioning of copper, chromium occurred with longer distance from edge, and with longer distance from edge the leachability resistance of CCA treated specimens decreased. After 6 hours (soaking time), the proportion of active elements at a distance of 2.5cm from the edge was consistent. And after 24 hours-soaking, the proportion of active elements at a distance of 7.5cm from the edge was consistent.
