  • Various smart phone applications have been widely developed and an intelligent service to take a picture for the visually handicapped is needed. By using an auditory service and/or other's help, the blind capture an image with their cameras for keeping a record or exchanging the information with another people. However, they are difficult to take the wanted picture because they are unable to grasp the visual contents in the viewfinder. This paper presents a novel guiding system for the blind people to take a picture with the smart phone. The proposed method identifies a person in the picture and determines the presence of eye blinks and blurring. The system provides a guiding information such as camera directions, which are transferred into the blind user with auditory service.

  • Defects of corrugated board were limiting factors to the corrugated industry's growth. On-line detecting systems of defects are beneficial to increase profits of the corrugated board companies by reducing base paper consumption, increasing process reliability, and increasing productivity. By replacing naked eye inspection of defects to a defects detecting system, continuous inspection without fatigue may guarantee final products quality. The system was developed, which was consisted of line scan CCD camera, lens, illuminating parts, high speed image processor, software, various input parts, and output parts. First installation location of the system was at before fluting process after base paper unwinding, and surface of liner board was inspected by the system. Second installation location was after fluting process and combining process for liner board. Production loss includes ragged appearance of edge, irregular flute shape, wrong combination of flute, score cracking, defects in base paper, and flute cracking. The production loss was analyzed before and after the system installation at a commercial domestic mill. The production loss ratio was defined as a production loss weight per total production weight. The production loss ratio before the installation was decreased a lot from 1.28%(during 3 months before installation) to 0.76%(during 12 months after the first installation) and to 0.25%(during 6 months after the second installation).

  • The perspective representation and its effect that appeared in the tombs and mural paintings of koguryo are summarized as follows: First, The inside structure of the tombs is likely to show the deepness effect, placing each function in the front and both sides centering around the mane pillars and creating the boundaries and the spaces that have various visibility between the inside and outside spaces of the structure just like a traditional Korean house shows. In addition, The deepness effect is emphasized by suggesting that the spaces are countinued with a storage attached behind the main house or by forming the level and deployment in a narrow space like the scene that a large array is looked out from the main house. Second, The deepness effect is expressed by making the form of ceiling turn to a vertical space of an ascending image, constructing it just as the lotus lamp ceiling of a wooden architecture or drawing it just like the imaginary heavenly world with the sun the moon and mythical fairies and animals spread in it. Thried, The perspective effect is disclosed by drawing the mural pictures in an equally set bird's-eye view without regard to the disfance proportion according to the conceptual visualization which is not a visual penetration, adopting the multiple view points and moving view points that are moving around as an important manner of seeing. Fourth, The deepness effect is emphasized through the scene of changing spaces when they are looked out far or looked into depending on a viewpoint of the daily life by forming the fromes of paintings that we made up with actual pillars, Du Gong, crossbeams or that are painted in most tombs. Fifth, The rich spatial senses are reflected by originating the characters of the three directions, level, deployment and ascending. An example which can support the conclusion of this study can be given here. that is, the construction ground plan of a dwelling house of a nobleman at the end of Koguryo as a remain which was excavated at Dongdae Ja in Jip An.

  • Mobile based location-based service can normally be classified into four categories according to their dimensions of their screen layout: map-based, bird-eye view based, photo-based, and video-based. Specifically, video-based layout system combining AR technology has a appealing factor to users through the reality-based presence but normally requires sophisticated real-time image matching algorithms to represent the system. This paper provides a new location-based service by introducing mirror world to resolve the problem and implements its prototype. The proposed service does not need such algorithm and will effectively be useful for users to get the reality of the presence for any locations which is regardless of a user's real location.

  • This paper examined the contemporary kasaya of each country in Asia, focussing on the Kasaya Kongyang ceremony and kasaya varieties. As well, the countries in Asia were divided into the southern Buddhist countries, northern Buddhist countries, and Tibetan buddhist countries, and were comparatively analyzed. 1. In terms of the Kasaya Kongyang ceremony, now days the southern Buddhist countries perform the Katina ceremony, passed down from the time of the Buddha. In the northern Buddhist countries, namely China, the kasaya is bestowed to the monk at the end of the precepts ceremony, while in Korea, the kasaya is bestowed to the monk at the end of the ceremony of "opening the eye" of an image. There is no Kasaya Kongyang ceremony in Japan and Tibetan Buddhist countries. 2. In terms of the varieties of kasaya, because the Katina ceremony is performed with 5 jo in southern Buddhist countries, their kasayas are made up of 5 jo, with the exception of Myanmar's sungari. In Taiwan and Korea, which are of the Zen order and part of the northern Buddhist countries, there are 5-25 jo. In Japan, which is of the Kyo, or doctrinal order, it is made up of 5-9 jo. The Tibetan Buddhist countries have only jo that are 7 and 23. In conclusion, when Buddhism was transmitted from the southern Buddhist countries to the northern Buddhist countries, we can see that the Kasaya Kongyang ceremony and the from of the kasaya itself changed from practical robes to majestic ones, in accord with the Mahayana doctrine of saving all sentient being. Therefore, the kasaya simbolizes the Buddhist philosophy that Mahayana claims the existence of many Buddhas at one and the same time.same time.

  • Recently, polymer insulators that are used for high voltage applications have some advantages such as light weight, small size, vandalism resistance, hydrophobicity and easy making process. During outdoor service of polymer insulators, the surface of the insulating material is frequently subjected to moisture and contamination that lead to dry band arcing. Their tracking resistance, erosion resistance, end sealing and shed design are very important because dry band arcing causes degradation of polymer surface. Aging test to estimate life property of polymer insulator is executed through several international standard such as IEC 61109 and CEA tracking wheel test, but is not getting clear conclusion yet. There are two methods in the diagnosis method of polymer insulator such as off-line and on-line. The diagnosis methods in off-line are external condition analysis by the eye, contaminant analysis on surface, surface analysis, pollution withstand voltage test, power frequency flashover voltage test, lightning impulse flashover test, tensile fracture load test and flexural load test. Polymer material is also investigated it's tracking resistance by adding surface active agent in IEC 587. In this paper, the tracking performance of polymer insulator with salt solution which is added surface active agent. The diagnosis of insulator sample has been analyzed by leakage current and visual examination, STRI guide and thermal image camera.

  • Clouds in the atmosphere are important variables that affect the temperature change by reflecting the radiant energy of the earth surface as well as changing the amount of sunshine by reflecting the sun's radiation energy. Especially, the amount of sunshine on the surface is very important It is essential information. Therefore, eye-observations of the sky on the surface of the earth have been enhanced by satellite photographs or relatively narrowed observation equipments. Therefore, cloud automatic observing systems have been developed in order to replace the human observers, but depending on the seasons, the reliability of observations is not high enough to be applied in the field due to pollutants or fog in the atmosphere. Therefore, we have developed a cloud observation algorithm that is robust against smog and fog. It is based on the calculation of the degree of aerosol from the all-sky image, and is added to the developed cloud reader to develop season- and climate-insensitive algorithms to improve reliability. The result compared to existing cloud readers and the result of cloud cover is improved.

  • Bumblebees have apposition compound eyes (one on either side of the head) of about 6,000 ommatidia and three small single-lens ocelli on the frons of their head capsule. The surface of the eye is smooth and interommatidial hairs, as in the honeybee, are not developed. Each ommatidium (approx. 26 ㎛ in diameter) is capped by a hexagonal facet and contains in its centre a 3 ㎛ wide, columnar light-perceiving structure known as the rhabdom. Rhabdoms consist of thousands of regularly aligned, fingerlike microvilli, which in their membranes contain the photopigment molecules. Axons from each ommatidium transmit the information of their photic environment to the visual centres of the brain, where behavioural reactions may be initiated. Since bumblebee eyes possess three classes of spectrally different sensitivity peaks in a ratio of 1:1:6 (UV= 353 nm, blue= 430 nm and green=548 nm) per ommatidium, they use colour vision to find and select flower types that yield pollen and nectar. Ommatidial acceptance angles of at least 3° are used by the bumblebees to discriminate between different flower shapes and sizes, but their ability to detect polarized light appears to be used only for navigational purposes. A flicker fusion frequency of around 110Hz helps the fast flying bumblebee to avoid obstacles. The small ocelli are strongly sensitive to ultraviolet radiation and green wavelengths and appear to act as sensors for light levels akin to a photometer. Unlike the bumblebee's compound eyes, the ocelli would, however, be incapable of forming a useful image.

  • This paper deals with on the game's way of embodying the society at the end of the century. Resident Evil, Parasite Eve, and Silent Hill are the targets of the analysis. First, I examine the world view of each game and its own language that conveys its contents. Second, I analyze the specific parts of reality that the three games imitate and the way they are represented. Third, I consider the connection between the real world and the world embodied in the game. Fourth, I suggest the possibility of providing an 'alternative perspective' of game media that reveals the hidden aspects of reality in a way of representation. In conclusion, the image of the game becomes 'the eye' that complements our perspective, captures the hidden aspects of reality, obtains a meaningful part, and even presents its blueprint.

  • Soybean (Glycine max (L.) Merr.) is a representative food resource. To preserve the integrity of soybean, it is necessary to protect soybean yield and seed quality from threats of various pests and diseases. Riptortus pedestris is a well-known insect pest that causes the greatest loss of soybean yield in South Korea. This pest not only directly reduces yields but also causes disorders and diseases in plant growth. Unfortunately, no resistant soybean resources have been reported. Therefore, it is necessary to identify the distribution and movement of Riptortus pedestris at an early stage to reduce the damage caused by insect pests. Conventionally, the human eye has performed the diagnosis of agronomic traits related to pest outbreaks. However, due to human vision's subjectivity and impermanence, it is time-consuming, requires the assistance of specialists, and is labor-intensive. Therefore, the responses and behavior patterns of Riptortus pedestris to the scent of mixture R were visualized with a 3D model through the perspective of artificial intelligence. The movement patterns of Riptortus pedestris was analyzed by using time-series image data. In addition, classification was performed through visual analysis based on a deep learning model. In the object tracking, implemented using the YOLO series model, the path of the movement of pests shows a negative reaction to a mixture Rina video scene. As a result of 3D modeling using the x, y, and z-axis of the tracked objects, 80% of the subjects showed behavioral patterns consistent with the treatment of mixture R. In addition, these studies are being conducted in the soybean field and it will be possible to preserve the yield of soybeans through the application of a pest control platform to the early stage of soybeans.
