The aim of this study is to grasp the features of the object which reveals its own specific purposes, and to apply them to the product concept and design forms when designers develop products. For this study, the subjects of the experiment were chosen to fill out a basic questionnaire, and an image analysis of them was performed. After the analysis, the functional design elements of the subjects were extracted and coded. They preyed the correlation between the results of the image analysis and the characteristics of the subjects. The questionnaire was carried out to determine the characteristics of the subjects. As the features of specific products were extracted through this experiment, they can be used as basic data to analyze consumer needs and to better understand the products when we design for them. This can be useful fundamental data enabling designers to understand products easily and to establish concepts for their designs. In the case of the MP3 player in this study, the results of the image analysis of it are turned out to be sound quality, compatibility, portability, employment, interface, and personality. Their respective related features were investigated as well. The important features of designing the MP3 player were presented. Through this fundamental study, it will be possible to understand consumer's needs more effectively, which will bring about the development of the fundamental basis of various fields in design.

Transgenic animals production tools have been valuable for research and purpose. The current methods of gene transfer, microinjection and nuclear transfer, which are widely used in transgenic animal production, but all most methods has only had limited success in production of larger species. Here, we report the possibility of a sperm-mediated gene transfer method in porcine embryos. Oocytes were collected from ovaries harvested at a local slaughterhouse were matured in 500${mu}ell$ drops of TCM-199 under mineral oil at 38.5$^{\circ}C$ in a humidified atmosphere of 5%CO2 in air. After 42-43h of in vitro maturation oocytes were denuded. for sperm injection into the cytoplasm of the porcine oocytes, sperm suspension in NIM medium are subjected extraction with TritonX-100 before mixing with a green fluorescent gene (GFP). Sperm with Tritonx-100 were prepared by adding TritonX-100 to a final volume of 0.05% in the sperm suspension and mixing by trituration for 60s before two wishes in NIM medium at 2$^{\circ}C$. A(ter wishing, sperm were mixed with TritonX-100 at $25^{\circ}C$ followed by washes at 2$^{\circ}C$. Sperm were resuspended in ice cold NIM to a final volume of 400${mu}ell$ and 2-20ng/${mu}ell$ DNA were triturated on ice for 60s. All microinjection was performed in HEPES-buffered CZB medium at room temperature within 2h. After culture in NCSU-23 for 72h, percent of porcine embryos transfected GFP gene are 20.7%(6/29) in 20ng/${mu}ell$ sperm-DNA mixed group and other groups were 3.7 %(2/54)and 4.7%(3/67). These data suggests that sperm-mediated gene transfer method should be used to the production tool of transgenic pig efficiently.
This study was conducted to investigate the in vivo and in vivo antibiotic effect of crude fucoidan extracted from Hizikia fusiforme, and to investigate any possible structural changes of broiler chick's intestinal villi by the supplementation of fucoidan. Total 84 broiler chicks were randomly assigned to 7 treatments, control and Salmonella typhimurium infection groups. The broiler chicks was infected with Salmonella typhimurium at third days, and antibiotics, fucoidan, dried Hizikia fusiforme, dried Undaria pinnatifida and yeast cell debris was respectively supplemented for each group. Each treatment had 4 chicks with three replications. Extraction yield of crude fucoidan from Hizikia fusiforme was 5.453%. Antibiotic effect of fucoidan was not detected in vitro, inhibition zone and micoorganism growth test. Weight gains of broiler chicks were tend to higher in fucoidan treatment group and yeast cell significance was not found. In in vivo test, the number of viable Salmonella typhimurium was low in the antibiotics and fucoidan treatment groups. The intestinal villi were short in the fucoidan and marine algae treatment groups. The intestinal villi were densely distributed on the large intestinal wall, but the morphology was not different among treatments.

This paper describes an initial study for the application of eddy current pattern recognition approaches to more realistic flaw characterization in steam generator tubes. For this purpose, finite-element model-based theoretical eddy current testing (ECT) signals are simulated from 5 types of OD flaws with the variation in flaw size parameters and testing frequency. In addition, three kinds of software are developed for the convenience in the application of steps in pattern recognition approaches such as feature extraction feature selection and classification by probabilistic neural networks (PNNs). The cross point of the ECT signals simulated from flaws with non-symmetric cross-sections shows the deviation from the origin of the impedance plane. New features taking advantages of this phenomenon are added to complete the feature set with a total of 18 features. Then, classification with PNNs are performed based on this feature set. The PNN classifiers show high performance for the identification of symmetry in the cross-section of a flaw. However, they show very limited success in the interrogation of the sharpness of flaw tips.
Sediment samples from the continental shelf of the South Sea of Korea are analysed to determine the concentration of Al, Fe, Mn, cu, Ni, Zn, Co, Cr and Pb. among these samples, fine-grained sediments were also analysed by a sequential extraction technique to know geochemical forms of the metals in this environments. The total concentration of Al, Fe, Cr, Ni, Cu and Zn in bulk sediments decreased gradually with the increase of distance from the coastal zone. This distribution patterns are well coincide with grain size distribution. However, the patterns of Mn, co and Pb do not follow such and overall distribution. The concentration of Pb, particularly, did not show any features in areal distribution, which may be result from different pathways to the sediments, compared to the other metals. the speculation data show that a considerable amount of Cd, Mn and Co are bounded in the carbonate fraction, accounting for 42.8%, 40.3% and 30.6%, respectively. Cu, Zn, Mn and Fe are largely associated to oxide fraction with proportions of 34.4%, 23.1%, 15.5% and 13.7%, respectively. However, the metals in residual fraction account for more than 50% of the total metal concentration, except for Mn. These observations emphasize that residual fraction in the dominant component controlling the elemental concentration.quartz and glauconite grains.Accordingly, these sediments are interpreted as an extension part of transgressive sand deposit that are widely distributed on the continental shalf floor of southern Yellow Sea.

In order to detect the early impacts of the Hebei Spirit oil spill on the subtidal macrozoobenthos, we conducted a benthic survey at 72 stations in the subtidal area of Tae-an, the eastern Yellow Sea from Dec. 18th 2007 to Dec. 22th after 10 days from the Hebei Spirit oil spill. A total of228 species from 72 stations was sampled with mean density of 561 ind $m^{-2}$ and mean biomass of 39.7 gww $m^{-2}$. In this study, Ampelisca occurred as a major dominant fauna in this survey, but did not appear around oil spill areas. Meanwhile some opportunistic polychaete worms like Prionospio bocki, Prionospio cirrifera appeared in the oil spill area, especially near coastal beaches. The overall abundance and biomass of macrozoobenthos decreased after oil spill. However some stations previously disturbed with sand extraction showed a similar macrozoobenthic community structure.
In order to investigate the effects of Alcohol-Steamed Rhei Rhizoma and Row Rhei Rhizoma on varied extract time in both endotoxin-induced blood stasis model(hereafter Endotoxin Model) and hydrocortisone acetate-induced blood stasis model (hereafter HA Model), Half of rats were treated with endotoxin(0.4mg/kg, single Ⅳ, into caudal vein) for Endotoxin Model. Thereafter, they were orally administrated water extract of Alcohol-Steamed Rhei Rhizoma or Row Rhei Rhizoma, which were boiled during 30, 60, 120 minute, respectively. Second, autonomy support of major students for security martial arts had a positive impact on harmonious passion. Third, autonomy support of major students for security martial arts had a impact on obsessive passion. Forth, intrinsic motivation of major students for security martial arts had a positive impact on harmonious passion. Fifth, intrinsic motivation of major students for security martial arts had a negative impact on obsessive passion. The results of structural equation modeling showed that intrinsic motivation partially mediated the relationship between autonomy support and harmonious passion. And the relationships between autonomy support and obsessive passion were completely mediated by the intrinsic motivation.
According to the agreement on WTO/TBT, we are under the situation to adopt international standard (ISO standard) as a national standard if it exists. However, in case of environmental area, it is a domestic legal obligation to use Korean environmental standard method(KESM) for analyzing various contaminants. Therefore it is necessary to assess the comparability between KEM and ISO standard prior to apply ISO standard to soil conservation law in Korea. The main purpose of this study is to assess the comparability of both methods for analyzing heavy metals in soil. We looked over various aspects like pre-treatment, calibration curve range, detection wavelength, soil organic matter content and so on. Apparently, the procedure of both methods is almost same. However in details, both methods are different in stationary time before aqua-regia extraction using reflux system, calibration curve range for Cu, Pb, Ni and measuring wavelength for Pb. According to the results of comparison test, the results were significantly different when the different calibration range was used. In case that all the extracts independent of methods were reanalyzed with the same calibration range of each method, both methods showed statistically same results. Other conditions like different stationary time, measuring wavelength of AAS and soil organic matter content did not have any influence on the analytical result. Therefore, we suggest to extend the calibration curve range to 0~8 mg/L which is used in KS I ISO standard(Korean standard related with environment which is translation version of ISO standard without any technical change). In case of $Cr^{6+}$, the results showed no significant differences between two methods even though the pretreatment, instrumentation and other analysis conditions were different. In addition to UV/Visble spectrometry of KESM for soil contamination, we suggest to adopt ion chromatography of ISO 15192(US EPA method 7199) for analyzing $Cr^{6+}$ with the consideration of laboratory work efficiency.
Effects of nitrogen sources on chlorophyll, activity of some oxidases in soybean leaves were investigated in relation to phosphorus sensitivity. Ammonium and urea culture accelerated leaf senescence more in phosphorus sensitive cultivars. The leaf senescence patterns affected by nitrogen sources were clearly indicated by intact leaf absorbance. Absorption maximum (670nm in methanol extraction or 685nm in intact leaf), was not changed by nitrogen source in the same method. According to leaf senesence pattern general physiological sensitivity pattern was discussed. IAA-oxidase activity was higher in the phosphorus tolerant cultivars and nitrate treatment than in the sensitive cultivars and ammonium treatment. Glycolate oxidase activity was higher in the sensitive cultivars and nitrate treatment. Polyphenol oxidase activity was higher in the tolerant cultivars and urea treatment. It is concluded that the excess ammonium, to which excess phosphorus is highly similar in physiological effect, disturbs the photosynthetic system by inhibition of ATP generation (photo-and oxidative phosphorylation).
