협업 개발 내 설계 변경 정보의 공유 및 전파를 위한 중립 참조 모델 (Neutral Reference Model for the Sharing and Propagation of Engineering Change Information in a Collaborative Engineering Development)

  • As modular production becoming increasingly widespread in globalized manufacturing industries, sub modules or parts of the final product are being provided by many suppliers. Some part suppliers design their own products for themselves. In some cases, part suppliers provide the same type of product to multiple OEM companies. Because all part suppliers and OEM companies typically cannot use the same CAD system, engineering change in the CAD model of one company cannot be directly propagated to related CAD models of other companies. Even if two companies use the same CAD system, it may be difficult to share their CAD model owing to corporate security policy. In this paper, a neutral reference model that consists of a neutral skeleton model and an external reference data model is proposed as a new medium for the sharing and propagation of engineering change information among collaborating companies.

Empirical Study on Inter-Firm Diffusion and Firms' Performance for Win-Win Growth Culture in Supply Chain

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship among factors that expand the win-win growth between domestic finished goods-making manufacturers and subcontractors. One-hundred twenty six firms participated for this study and were used for the data analysis. As a result of analysis, first, it was found that the win-win growth between first-tier suppliers and second-tier suppliers has positive effects on the win-win growth made by second-tier suppliers helping the third-tier suppliers. Second, it was found that the win-win growth policies supported by the government for the positive relationship between first-tier suppliers and second-tier suppliers for the finished goods-making manufacturers have positive effects on the win-win growth between second-tier suppliers and third-tier suppliers. Third, the results also showed that the win-win growth between second-tier suppliers and third-tier suppliers has a positive influence both on the financial and on the non-financial performances of the second-tier suppliers. Based on the results of this study, it is recommended to (1) construct infrastructure by sector through partnership between finished goods-making manufacturers and subcontractors, (2) draw in active support through the governmental win-win growth policies, (3) induce increasing productivities through information sharing, manpower support, technical support and educational support, and (4) strengthen and cultivate the culture of the small- and medium-sized companies.

Neutral Reference Model for Engineering Change Propagation in Global Top-down Modeling Approach

  • As the modular production is an important issue in globalized manufacturing industries, sub modules or parts of the final product are provided by many suppliers. Because all suppliers and 1-tier companies can not use the same CAD system in general case, the engineering change in the CAD model of one company could not propagate to related CAD models of other companies directly. Although they use the same CAD system, it is hard to share their CAD model with each other because of company security policy. In this paper, the neutral reference model, which consists of the neutral skeleton model and the external reference model, is proposed to apply a global top-down modeling approach to collaborating companies.

제조업체-협력업체간의 효율적 공급사슬 관리를 위한 평가기준 선정에 관한 연구 (Identification of Managerial Criteria for Efficient Coordination between a Manufacturer and Suppliers in Supply Chains)

  • In supply chains, coordination between a manufacturer and suppliers is regarded as the most important issue when partnership of organizations is considered. Since the suppliers are external to the manufacturer and poor coordination between them results in excessive delays and ultimately leads to poor customer service, manufacturers need a new methodology to select suppliers and to manage and enhance the partnership between manufacturer and suppliers. We suggest a methodology that extends knowledge obtained from the supplier selection process to the supplier management process. We reserved a word, the supplier selection and management system (SSMS) for this methodology. In this paper, we explain how the SSMS is applied to a real supply chain. The methodology identifies the managerial criteria using information derived from supplier selection process and makes use of them in the supplier management process. These managerial criteria include key criteria that are major criteria required by the manufacturer for the best quality of parts from suppliers according to the character of each part, and weak criteria that show the shortcomings of selected suppliers as compared with alternative suppliers with regard to each criterion. The effectiveness of supplier management with managerial criteria was verified by a t-test and a correlation analysis with data collected and hypothesized from a Korean air-conditioner manufacturer.

Effects of Innovativeness of External Networks on Corporate Innovativeness and Innovation Performance - Focusing on Comparison of Business Categories according to the Technology Level of the Manufacturing Industry -

  • In this study, the effect of innovativeness of external networks on the corporate innovativeness and innovation performance were explored based on web survey data collected from 230 manufacturing companies. Specifically, according to the manufacturers' business categories divided by the technology level, three groups such as advance technology (electronic/IT), mid- to high technology (automobile/machine), and low technology (textile/clothing) companies were investigated to find out which external network influences corporate innovativeness and innovation performance. In the result, textile/clothing companies were not different in company size, history, and innovation effort from advanced technology and mid- to high technology companies. Collectively, the innovativeness of external networks affected corporate innovativeness and innovation performance. In the result by a business category, innovativeness and innovation performance of textile/clothing companies were affected by the innovativeness of competitors, whereas automobile/machine companies in the mid- to high technology group were affected by suppliers. In addition, advanced technology (electronics/IT) were affected by buyers and competitors. These differences suggest that the way to use vertical networks toward upstream (e.g., suppliers) and downstream (e. g., buyers) as well as horizontal networks toward competitors can be different by the business category of manufacturers. The result would provide implications for the academia and the industry.

An Empirical Study about Assessment of the JIT System: on korean semi-production firm

  • This study is focused on evaluating the computer-integrated just-in-time (CI-JIT) production system of a semi-conductor manufacturing firm in Korea. Approaching the mid-1980s, the emphasis was on low price, low-cost operations, and quality, especially in USA. American companies have shifted output to low-wage countries like the Philippines, Korea, Japan, Malaysia and allied countries that can make quality products at low prices. Korea and other Asian countries forego short-term profits to gain a solid foothold in a product market, recognizing that larger market share leads to lower cost and higher profit in the long run. They bring manufacturers and suppliers together to improve material management and operation management, using project teams that investigate topics, such as Just-In-Time(JIT)manufacturing, among others. The "Kanban" word means "card" in Japanese, and is used to indicate the desired final delivery schedule. The operation for a particular item produced is scheduled for a specific time. The same process is extended to the external suppliers. More recently, the cards are gradually being replaced by electronic procedures that follow the same concept. Its capacity must be capable of handling the various transactions required by the JIT coverage as well as some allowances for expanded applications.

SCM 통합요인이 가시성과 기업성과에 미치는 영향에 관한 실증연구 (An Empirical Study on Influence of SCM Integration Factors on Visibility and Business Performance)

  • 최근 급변하는 경쟁 환경에서 기업과 기업 간의 경쟁 차원을 넘어서 공급사슬과 공급사슬과의 경쟁으로 발전하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 공급사슬 통합요인인 기업내부 기능 간 통합, 공급자 통합, 고객 통합이 기업내부 가시성과 기업외부 가시성 및 기업의 비재무적 성과와 재무적 성과에 미치는 영향을 검증하였다. 실증연구를 위해서 국내 SCM을 실행하고 있는 공급업체 제조업체, 유통업체들을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하여 총 81부의 설문자료를 최종 분석하였다. 공변량 구조모형분석을 실시한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 공급자 통합은 기업내부 가시성과 기업외부 가시성에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으나, 기업내부 기능 간 통합은 기업내부 가시성에만, 고객 통합은 기업외부 가시성에만 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 기업내부 가시성과 기업외부 가시성은 기업의 비재무적 성과에는 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으나, 재무적 성과에는 직접적으로 유의한 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 기업의 비재무적 성과는 재무적 성과에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.

The External Knowledge Utilization and Radical Innovation in Korea Electronic Industry

  • Purpose - This study investigates the moderation effect of internal factor, a firms size, on the external knowledge sourcing strategy and its effectiveness in generating radical innovation. We incorporate concepts of breadth and depth as two measures to gauge the degree of openness in firms external search Research design and methodology - The dependent variable in the regression model is the percentage of innovative sales and therefore, Tobit regression is employed for estimating significant factors affecting on the ratio of first-to-market by breadth and depth in external knowledge, internationalization, and size. Results - The results show that the external knowledge, in terms of both breadth and depth, has a positive relationship with radical innovation. However internationalization as external knowledge resources is not statistically accepted. Firm size has moderating effect on innovation negatively only in case of using external knowledge resources to a high degree. Conclusions - Firms obtain external information mostly from customers, competitors, and suppliers etc. empirical knowledge in terms of scope and intensity is an important contributor to innovation. And intensity use of external knowledge and information resources can work in favor of smaller firms rather than larger ones. Internationalization seems to have little effect on innovation but it requires further researches with clear criteria and more data.

국내 온라인 기술시장에서 기술공급자의 기술 활용전략에 관한 실증 연구 : 기업특허 특성분석을 중심으로 (The Patent Exploitation Strategy of Technology Suppliers in the Online Technology Market in Korea : An Empirical Analysis on Characteristics of Firms' Patents)

  • 온라인 기술시장은 기술거래에서 발생하는 거래비용을 낮춰줌으로써 기술공급자에게 기술을 외부적으로 활용할 기회를 제공할 것으로 기대된다. 이 논문은 온라인 기술시장의 존재가 기술공급자의 기술활용 전략에 미치는 영향을 확인하기 위해 국내 온라인 기술시장 중 국가기술은행에 공급된 특허기술을 대상으로, 기술공급 기업이 온라인 기술시장에 제공하는 기술의 특성과 해당기업들이 보유하고 있는 특허기술의 특성을 비교하는 실증분석을 수행하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 기술공급 기업이 온라인 기술시장에 제공하는 기술의 특성이 진부화된 특허, 기술공급자의 특허활동이 활발하지 않은 비핵심 기술영역의 특허, 청구항수와 발명자수가 많은 특허인 것을 보여준다. 이와 같은 결과는 온라인 기술시장이 기술공급 기업들이 내부적으로 사용하지 않는 기술의 활용을 가능하게 하는 역할을 하고 있음을 의미한다.

  • 공급 기반 전반에 걸쳐 소싱(Sourcing)에서 조달에 이르는 프로세스를 자동화하고 외부 파트너인 공급사와의 관계를 전략적으로 운영하여 공급망 전체의 효율을 높이고자 SRM(Supplier Relation-ship Management)에 대한 관심이 증대되고 있다. 최근 조달청은 국가 조달행정의 새로운 패러다임을 구축하고 공공조달의 경쟁력을 강화하고자 SRM 개념을 도입하였다. 공공조달 환경에서의 SRM을 위해서는 공정하고 객관적으로 공급사를 평가하고 선정하기 위한 계약이행능력 평가모델의 구축이 요구된다. 본 논문에서는 공급사의 계약이행능력을 평가하고 이를 등급화하여 전략적으로 활용할 수 있는 SRM 솔루션을 제안하고 이를 통해 국가 공공조달 시스템의 혁신방안에 대해 설명한다.
