철도하부 통과 구간의 파형강판의 적용성 검토 연구 (An Application study for corrugated structural plate under the railway)

  • Corrugated structural plate is ductile structural member which has high sectional properties compared with same thickness of plate. Corrugated plate resists the external forces by the combined action of retained soils and structures. Since it is easy to transport and assemblage of in-situ, the duration and cost of construction can be reduced. Corrugated plate structures, therefore, are widely used in culverts, hydro passages and simple bridges. RC culvert with supported by unstable soil layersin railway construction project of pohang${\sim}$samchuk has been replaced by corrugated plate culvert due to the reduction of construction duration and cost, especially the performance of behavior of settlement of ground. The structural analysis, design processes, and the economic advantages of the corrugated plate culvert are studied in this paper.

  • 현수교는 기둥 설치가 용이하지 않은 환경에 적용할 수 있는 혁신적인 교량 건설 방법으로 사람들의 관심을 끌어왔다. 그러나 Tocoma Narrows Bridge의 붕괴이후 안전상의 문제가 제기되었으며, 많은 비용이 지불되는 교량 건설에 시행착오를 줄이고자 현수교 방정식에 대한 연구가 시행되었다. 이 논문에서는 다양한 현수교 방정식의 모델을 정리하여 현수교 방정식의 차후 연구 방향을 제시하고자 한다.

  • The oscillation of the fluid caused by external forces is call ed sloshing, which occurs in moving vehicles with contained liquid masses, such as trucks, railroad cars, aircraft, and liquid rocket. This sloshing effect could be a severe problem in vehicle stability and control. In this study, the optimization design technique for reduction of the sloshing using evolutionary method is suggested. Two evolutionary methods are employed, respectively the artificial neural network(ANN) and genetic algorithm. An artificial neural network is used for the analysis of sloshing and genetic algorithm is adopted as optimization algorithm. As a result of optimization design, the optimized size and location of the baffle is presented

  • The resonant frequency of a gas-filled cylindrical Helmholtz resonator in a liquid is obtained analytically. The equation of motion of the resonator is derived by using the condition of equilibrium of forces acting on the mass in the neck of the resonator. The reaction force on the upper side of the cylinder due to the acceleration of external fluid and sound radiation is obtained by using the analytical results for the baffled circular-piston problem. From the frequency response function of the resonator, a formula to predict the resonant frequency of the resonator is derived. It is shown that the resonant frequency of the Helmholtz resonator significantly decreases due to the cushioning effect of gas inside the cavity. Therefore, when a pressure transducer is to be installed in a pin-hole type mounting method, much care should be paid to remove the gas from the cavity.

  • for the kぉ mechanics analysis of a crack in a weld of dissimilar steels, residual stress analysis and fracture analysis must be performed simultaneously. The standard definition of the J-integral leads to a path dependent value in the presence of a residual stress field. And unlike cracks in homogeneous materials, a bimaterial interface crack always induces both opening and shearing modes of stress in the vicinity of the crack tip. Therefore, it is necessary to develope a path independent J-integral definition for a crack in a residual stress field generated by welding of dissimilar steels. This paper addresses the modification of the Rice-J-integral to produce a path independent J-integral when residual stresses due to welding of dissimilar steels and external forces are present. The residual stress problem is heated as an initial stain problem and the J-integral proposed for this class of problems is used And a program which can evaluate the 1-integral for a crack in a weld of dissimialr steels is developed using proposed J-integral definition.

  • This paper presents an evaluation of the behavior and strength of two pre-tensioned concrete deep beams tested to failure with using the nonlinear strut-tie model approach. In the approach, the effective prestressing forces represented be equivalent external loads are gradually introduced along its transfer length in the nearest strut-tie model joints, the friction at the interface of main diagonal shear cracks is modeled by diagonal struts along the direction of the cracks in strut tie-model, and additional positioning of concrete ties a the place of steel ties is incorporated. Through the analysis of pre-tensioned concrete deep beams, the nonlinear strut-tie model approach proved to present effective solutions for prediction the essential aspects of the behavior and strength of pre-tensioned concrete deep beams.

  • An intelligent steering control system is designed for the steering control of a 4 wheel drive (4WD) electric vehicles without steering mechanism, where the vehicle is assumed to have 3 degree of freedom and input-output feedback linearization is employed. Especially, a fuzzy-rule-based side force estimator is suggested to avoid uncertain highlynonlinearexpression sof relations between side forces and their factors. Also, aneural-network-based predictive compensator is additionally utilized for the vehicle model to be correctly controlled with unstructured uncertainties. The proposed overall control system is numerically shown to be robust against drastic change of the external environments.

  • One of the important considerations in designing a machine tool is the durability. In this study, a durability estimation systems for horizontal machining centers is developed to evaluate the effects of structural specification and driving conditions on the durability. All loads such as weights, inertia forces, cutting force and so on, are automatically transferred from the upper elements to the lower elements by the force flows which can be derived from the structural code of horizontal machining centers. And the external loads applied to the motion elements such as bearings, LM guides, ball screws and so on, are determined by the equilibrium conditions of force and moment. Especially, the durability of horizontal machining center is estimated based on the lifes of motion elements operating under the desired driving conditions.

  • This is to report functional treatment, as mechano-therapy, of condylar fracture in cases of growing patients. Benoist's appliance was used in 3 cases condylar fractures, provides extraoral elastic forces to external pterygoid muscle. The appliance providing guided exercise of masticatory muscles induces transformative growth of trauma-tic condyles. The results were as follow; 1. Early exercise preventes ankylosis of fractured condyle. 2. Optimal physical exercise therapy induces the normal growth pattern by muscular training and bony remodeling of fractured condyle in children.

  • A critical problem in the integration of stores into new and existing aircraft is the safe separation of the stores from the aircraft at a variety of flight conditions representative of the aircraft flight regime. Typically, the certification of a particular store/aircraft/flight condition combination is accomplished by a flight test. Flight tests are very expensive and do expose the pilot and aircraft to a certain amount of risk. Wind tunnel testing, although less expensive than flight testing, is still expensive. Computational Fluid Dynamics(CFD) has held out the promise of alleviating expensive and risk by simulating weapons separation computationally. The forces and moments on a store at carriage and at various points in the flow field of te aircraft can be computed using CFD applied to the full aircraft and store geometry. This study needs full dynamic characteristics study and flow analysis for securing store separation safety. Present study performs dynamic simulation of store separation with flow analysis using Chimera grid scheme which is usually used for moving simulations.
