A Study on the Usages of DDS Middleware for Efficient Data Transmission and Reception

  • Data Distribution Service(DDS) provides the communications service programmers need to distribute time-critical data between embedded and/or enterprise devices or nodes. In this paper, I propose efficient methods for transmitting and receiving messages of various characteristics in real-time using DDS middleware. For high-frequency characteristic data, I describe several DDS packet types and various default and extended DDS QoS policies. In particular, the batching method is probably the best solution when considering several performance aspects. For large-capacity characteristic data. I will show a method using extended DDS QoS policies, a segmentation and reassembly method, and transmitting and receiving a large-capacity data with low priority method considering network conditions. Finally, I simulate and compare the result of performance for each methods. This results will help determine efficient methods for transmitting and receiving messages of various characteristics using DDS middleware.

  • Impedance tomography (EIT) is a relatively new imaging modality in which the internal impedivity distribution is reconstructed based on the known sets of injected currents through the electrodes and induced voltages on the surface of the object. We describe a dynamic EIT imaging technique for the case where the resistivity distribution inside the object changes rapidly within the time taken to acquire a full set of independent measurement data, In doing so, the inverse problem is treated as the nonlinear state estimation problem and the unknown state (resistivity) is estimated with the aid of extended Kalman filter in a minimum mean square error sense. The Effect of Ideal Avatar on Virtual Brand Experience in XR Platform

  • Purpose: This study aims to verify whether avatars that embody different brand concepts offer different experiences to users. Furthermore, this study explores the relationship between user identification with avatars and their actual brand purchase intentions. Research design, data and methodology: The research design employed a between-subjects approach, with two independent variables: brand concept and avatar. The measured dependent variables were brand experience in extended reality (XR) and purchase intention. Additionally, brand attitude served as a control variable. Results: First, in virtual brand spaces with symbolic benefits, ideal avatars were found to elicit higher levels of brand experience than actual avatars. Specifically, participants reported elevated levels of entertainment and relational assembly experiences in symbolic brand spaces. Second, this research reveals that the relationship between users' identification with avatars and their intention to make actual brand purchases is mediated by brand experience in XR. Conclusions: The findings suggest that ideal avatars evoke higher levels of brand experience within symbolic brand spaces, particularly in entertainment, relational connection, and a sense of community. Furthermore, this study establishes the role of brand experience in XR as a mediator between avatar identification and purchase intentions.

Preventive maintenance model with extended warranty (연장된 보증을 갖는 예방보전모형)

  • Recently, an extended warranty of the system following the expiration of the basic warranty is becoming increasingly popular to the user. In this respect, we suggest a preventive maintenance model following the expiration of extended warranty with minimal repair warranty from the user's point of view in this paper. Under basic warranty and extended warranty, the failed system is minimally repaired by the manufacturer at no cost to the user. For the preventive maintenance model, we derive the expressions for the expected cycle length, the expected total cost and the expected cost rate per unit time. Also, we determine the optimal preventive maintenance period and the optimal preventive maintenance number by minimizing the expected cost rate per unit time. Finally, the numerical examples are presented to illustrate the purpose when the failure time of the system has a Weibull distribution.

Performance Comparison of Various Extended Kalman Filter and Cost-Reference Particle Filter for Target Tracking with Unknown Noise (노이즈 불확실성하에서의 확장칼만필터의 변종들과 코스트 레퍼런스 파티클필터를 이용한 표적추적 성능비교)

  • In this paper, we study target tracking in two dimensional space using a Extended Kalman filter(EKF), various Extended Kalman Filter and Cost-Reference Particle Filter(CRPF), which can effectively estimate the state values of nonlinear measurement equation. We introduce various Extended Kalman Filter which the Unscented Kalman Filter(UKF), the Central Difference Kalman Filter(CDKF), the Square Root Unscented Kalman Filter(SR-UKF), and the Central Difference Kalman Filter(SR-CDKF). In this study, we calculate Mean Square Error(MSE) of each filters using Monte-Carlo simulation with unknown noise statistics. Simulation results show that among the various of Extended Kalman filter, Square Root Central Difference Kalman Filter has the best results in terms of speed and performance. And, the Cost-Reference Particle Filter has an advantageous feature that it does not need to know the noise distribution differently from Extended Kalman Filter, and the simulation result shows that the excellent in term of processing speed and accuracy.

As sustained increase of renewable energy and digital load, to implemented and operated Microgrid system's power distribution by DC power distribution. This reduce the loss of power conversion step occurring based on the AC power distribution system and eliminate the loss caused by the reactive power in power distribution system. For this reason, DC Microgrid will be extended to support evidence of National energy policies, Microgrid project status, DC distribution status, and to suggest process of DC power distribution in Microgrid construction project.

  • Purpose: This study aims to dissemination a new concept based on empirical research on enhancing entrepreneurship intention (EI) in the theory of planned behavior (TPB) through entrepreneurship mindset (EM) and task technology fit (TTF). The TTF is a moderating variable in strengthening the relationship between EM and EI. Research design, data, and methodology: This research design was quantitative research. The respondents were 202 students from Malaysia and Indonesia who had filled out and collected an online questionnaire in Microsoft form. Three hypotheses examined the direct influence and the indirect impact of EM on EI through antecedent variables of TPB, and the effect of TTF as moderating variable to enhance the relationship between EM and EI. The data was analyzed using the WarpPLS version 7.0. Results: The result showed that EM had a significant impact on the students' EI. The interaction of EM and TTF was significantly able to improve EI. Conclusions: The findings contributed new ideas to develop the theoretical framework of the TPB model and were able be utilized by lecturers to consider the integration of EM and TTF in the model. The novelty of this study elaborated the EM and TTF variables as an extended model of the TPB.

Large Scale Distribution of Globular Clusters in the Coma Cluster

  • Coma cluster (Abell 1656) is one of the most massive local galaxy clusters such as Virgo, Fornax, and Perseus, which holds a large collection of globular clusters. Globular cluster systems (GCSs) in a galaxy cluster tell us a history of hierarchical cluster assembly and intracluster GCs (ICGCs) are known to trace the gravitational potential of the galaxy cluster. Previous studies of GCSs in Coma mainly utilized data obtained using Hubble Space Telescope (HST) with high spatial resolution. However, most of the data were based on narrow-field pointing observations. In this study we present the widest survey of GCSs in the Coma cluster using the archival Subaru/Hyper Suprime-Cam (HSC) g and r images, supplemented with the archival HST images. The Coma GCSs are largely extended in E-W and SW direction, along the general direction of Coma-Abell 1367 filament. This global structure of the GCSs is consistent with the spatial distribution of the intracluster light (ICL). ICGC spatial distribution is largely extended to almost ~50% of the virial radius. Most of these ICGCs are blue and metal-poor, which supports the scenario that ICGCs are mainly originated from dwarf galaxies and some proportion from brighter galaxies. Implications of the results will be discussed.

The Effects of The Parent Brand-Congruity on the Attitude to Expanded Brand (모 브랜드-일치성이 확장브랜드에 대한 태도에 미치는 영향)

  • Purpose - This study presents the relationships between parent brand-self image congruence, parent brand -functional congruity, perceived fit between parent brand and extension product, and consumer's attitude toward extension product using the structural equation model. As for preceding concepts having a direct effect on consumer's attitude toward brand extension, the study focuses on parent brand-self image congruence and parent brand-functional congruity. It also looks at the effect of parent brand-self image congruence and parent brand-functional congruity on the consumer's attitude toward extension product and identifies if the perceived fit between parent brand and extension product is a concept playing a mediating role between parent brand-self image congruence or parent brand-functional congruity and consumer's attitude toward brand extension product. Research design, data, and Methodology - SPSS for Windows 18.0 and AMOS 18.0 were used for data analysis. Then, the Cronbach's α coefficient was obtained using SPSS for Windows 18.0 to measure reliability. In addition, the convergence and discriminative measures of the measured items were statistically verified using AMOS 18.0. Finally, we have validated a path model and a parameter model in which brand personality-self-matched attitude toward brand extension. Results - Studies have shown that the impact of parent brand-self image consistency and parent brand-functional consistency on the attitude of extended products was positive. Perceived fit between parent brand and extension products has been shown to play a role of intermediary between parent brand-self image congruence and consumer attitudes to extended products. However, perceived fit between parent brand and extension products did not play a role as intermediary between the parent brand-functional congruity and the attitude toward the extended product. Finally, in relation to the causal relationship between parent brand-congruity (self image/functionality) and attitudes to extended products. The effect of parent brand-functional coherency on attitudes toward extended products was found to be greater in groups with higher involvement than in those with lower involvement. Conclusions - Although few studies have been done on what variables mediated when parent brand-self image consistency and parent brand-functional coherency affect consumer attitude, this paper is significant in finding whether perceived fitness between the parent brand-congruity and the extension product is mediated.

  • In Pusan Harbour, new port development projects are implemented such as the Extended Terminal adjacent to the Gamman Terminal, Pusan New Port, the Navy $\bigcirc$$\bigcirc$ piers, etc. which will require new marine traffic environments in the Passage I of Pusan Harbour. Specially, the turning basin of the Extended Terminal adjacent to the Gamman Terminal has been designed to overlay the Passage I of Pusan Harbour, which will interrupt the inbound traffic flow and the results will be worried to decrease the efficiency of port operation. Therefore, this paper will be aimed to evaluate the traffic congestion in the Pusan Passage I due to the opening of new ports within Pusan Harbour in 2006 and 2011 by using computer simulation based the queueing theory.
