This study was conducted to evaluate the roles that the exterior features of belts play in modem women's fashion. Providing a new prospective on belt expression could be useful for developing and producing belts with newer and more unique fashion designs. This study included related studies, fashion magazines and collections produced both in Korea and abroad since 2000. The results of the study were as follows: 1. A belt can be used to stress femininity. For example wearing a broad belt rather than a thin belt emphasizes the waist, breasts or hips depending on the position of the belt, whereas simply Wearing a belt loosely on a tight or see-through dress can also emphasize femininity. 2. A belt can be used as a design element of a dress. The basic elements of a belt, such as leather used in combination with various colors, various manufacturing methods, and ornate buckle ornaments can produce elaborate decorative effects. However, when a belt is made from materials other than leather, the belt can have an ornamental quality on an achromatic dress. Finally, designing belts to be worn in non-conventional manners, such as girding or tying them, or wearing several belts on the arms, legs, shoulders and waist can result in new and expressive styles.

This study is to find out the changes and features of male consumers' life style and purchase tendency according to the change of Korean fashion market, and based on which to suggest the design for the 20s men as well as a proper distribution channel for it. Documentary research and investigation were done together for the study. By reviewing documents focused on previous studies and declaring the change of men's fashion shopping tendencies and the following changes and features of their fashion sense and styles a conceptional frame for a design suggestion was presented. Ways to investigate were men's wear collection research, Q-technique. First of all, they tend to boldly reduce unnecessary purchases and do not hesitate to focus on the wanted item, expanding the trend of 'value purchase.' Secondly, men's wear use various design elements with feminine images, while the materials, colors and design expressive techniques that have been exclusively used for women's wear, began to be applied to men's one, turning them into gentle styles with womanhood is stressed. Thirdly, Korean distribution channel is rapidly diversified from departments to new-concept ones such as multi-brand stores. Especially, displaying and selling various optional products, multi-brand stores lead such diversification of fashion distribution channel. Fourthly, features of the drapery types favored by the 20s men are that they like no-chromed dark or blackish colors with fixed structure and partially-applied drapery on the clothes. Fifthly, it turns out that men in their 20s set a premium on design and price while they buy clothes. In addition to that, they buy clothes mainly during discount period and displayed much bigger satisfaction for the purchase on discounted price that those on normal price.

This study aimed to analyze the expressive characteristics of design elements and fashion images shown in wedding dress styles in the 2000s. The findings were as follows. First, in wedding dress style the fashion images analysis showed that classic images appeared the most frequently, and fantastic, modern, kitsch, sexy, futuristic and ethnic images appeared the most, respectively. Second, design elements analysis of fashion images concluded that as for the appearance frequency of the silhouette, A line was the highest in classic, fantastic and kitsch images and H line was the highest in ethnic, modern, futuristic and sexy image. As for the appearance frequency of the necklines, bared top neckline was the highest in all of the fashion images. As for waistlines, natural waistlines except modern image of obscure waistlines appeared the most frequently in all of the images. As for sleeve, sleeveless appeared the most frequently in all of the images. As for material, see-through was the highest in ethnic, classic, sexy, fantastic and kitsch images. Luster material was the highest in modern and futuristic image. As for colors, white and achromatic, traditional wedding dress color, appeared the same in all of the seven fashion images, but chromatic colors appeared the most frequently in ethnic images. Third, the distinguishing expression features of fashion images shown in the wedding dress style of the times is as follows: 'Total fashion in wedding dress style', 'Emphasizes sexy image expression in wedding dress style', 'Various co-existence of wedding dress style', and 'Avant-garde expression in wedding dress style'.

Dynamic orphism images expressed with abstraction and construction in color are often found in modern fashion. Orphism stressing color is one of the many art trends that influence fashion. This work aims to examin its expressive effects and characteristics that appear in fashion and provide basic materials for fashion design study. This study proceeds with the following steps. First, the study takes on a theoretical examination of the orphism trend using a literature review. Second, based on its results, modern fashion's expressive features influenced by orphism are analyzed. Third, the study draws expression effects in modern fashion from these characteristics. The study coverage is confined to domestic and foreign collections released in the 21st century. The study contents come from an Internet-base domestic and international database and published material, including dissertations and books. Orphism expression effects are found in the following ways in modern fashion. First, it lies in the abstraction effect of color. This feature arrays flat geometric figure on the clothing surface and applies a strong sense of color inside it, as if color has an abstractive structured design. Second, it gives a dynamic sense visually to the clothes all at once by stressing the relation among and between the colors with powerful contrast. Third, it has a collage effect of color. This effect develops into an organic combination composed of geometric plane figures with intense complementary colors in a single piece of clothing. Expression types that presents the orphism effect in fashion are divided into clothing showing traditional orphism characteristics faithfully and clothing expressing conventional orphism characteristics mixed with modern trends. Further developed orphism fashion can be classified by the playful type, with graffiti added onto an orphism color structure, and the destructive type, where traditional orphism color orders are taken apart and reformed into a new color order.

The purpose of this study is to the design tendency expression of contemporary architectural matter, I can find out how the architecture is represented using the surface of building in its autonomy. I study backgrounds of contemporary architectural matter, method and their natures. In this case, i can notice that 'framework-dressing' method formed a objectified tectonic system, while it supplied arts with room that they hold priority to architecture. So it makes me find that contemporary architectural matter resided in relationship complicated between things and events. Also, this study on analyzing spatial effect by the figurative language derived by researching the dadaisme, pop art, kinetic art, video art hit In conclusion, analyzing the recent experiments in the expressive qualities of exterior skin, in their use of materials, methods of construction and visual effects, it can be argued that the new skin is inclusive of times, and has autonomic, constant and tactile features. Base on their immaterial vocabularies - limits, material, mouvement, media - these could be characterized as vibrant plates.

Since the Industrial Revolution in the 18th century, the production system adopted mechanization and mass production to popularize and standardize overall society. The architectural space removed basic desire of men on the decoration to neglect historical and regional continuity of the architecture and to make uniform designs, so that human sensibility and emotion were excluded. The architectural space had arbitrary and functionalism features in accordance with such a social change to display abstract space having no personality. The limitation expanded value of the space that was not lot possession and residence but for communication with men to express object factors. However, the object factors of the space were expressed in each factor consisting of either material factors or non-material factors. This study investigated interaction of the space by both expressive interaction and potential interaction to find out key words for making frames of the investigation and to examine cases comprehensively. The purpose of the study was to recover relations between the space and men in horizontal way and mutual communication and to present possibility integrating men and space.

Understanding of human emotion has a high importance in interaction between human and machine communications systems. The most expressive and valuable way to extract and recognize the human's emotion is by facial expression analysis. This paper presents and implements an automatic extraction and recognition scheme of facial expression and emotion through still image. This method has three main steps to recognize the facial emotion: (1) Detection of facial areas with skin-color method and feature maps, (2) Creation of the Bezier curve on eyemap and mouthmap, and (3) Classification and distinguish the emotion of characteristic with Hausdorff distance. To estimate the performance of the implemented system, we evaluate a success-ratio with emotional face image database, which is commonly used in the field of facial analysis. The experimental result shows average 76.1% of success to classify and distinguish the facial expression and emotion.

Caports is a fusion style which consists of mix and match and various T.P.Os. The expressive features of Caports style have been strengthened by the combination of functional and decorative design. This study aims to divide the images into categories and to study the decorative features of each category. It is classified into five groups according to its images, Healthy & Sexy, Athletic, Romantic, Girlish, Vintage. The following study has assorted the pictures of Caports style into categories and presents decorative design features in each category. Analyzed materials have been collected from fashion magazines, catalogs, and fashion related Internet sites from 2002 to 2006. The dominant feature of caports was sensitive fashionableness as a day wear based on sportswear. This feature was determined by every factor such as materials, structure and details. In other words, the usage of jersey that could give functionalities and elasticity, structure that exhibit one's silhouette and the decorative designs of functional details make it possible to have this kind of peculiar style. Decorative designs shown in sports wear, casual wear and women's wear were all applied in Caports style. They showed a moderate and coherent style rather than one that was richly ornate or magnificent. So, in the mesa trend of "sportism", Caports style could easily fit into the 21st century's consumers' demands for fusion. And this study of decorating methods of each category of Caports style may provide useful data to help develop the products that consumers demand.

The style of costumes which dancers put on for dancing on a stage reflects the times, culture, and traditionality of movements in dancing. Accordingly, everyday dresses are adopted as the stage costumes in some cases and stage costumes lead the trend in other cases. Furthermore, like stage costumes in other genres, dancing costumes put more emphasis on expressive features in the functions of clothing unlike everyday dresses. In particular, dancing costumes shall sufficiently and delicately express each movement using the costumes as well as rhythms and melodies of music for dance. Ballet which is the representative western dance was derived from the world "Ballare" meaning "dance" in Italian. As shown in the change of word, ballet started in Italy. In Italy taking initiatives for all artistic activities in Europe as leading Renaissance in the 15th century, ballet started as the court dance and favored by French. Then, ballet flourished in France and was developed to the Romantic ballet in the 19th century. During the Renaissance, the early stage of ballet development the dancers put on the dresses which were in fashion at that time on the stage. The dancing costumes added the decorative features suitable for the characteristics of main actors or actresses and contents of dances to the dresses in fashion at relevant times in 17th and 18th century. "Panier", the dancing costume in the 18th century, was sensationally popular among women. As described above, the study on the features of dancing costumes by times not only arranges the costumes in each times but also investigates emotions and artistic and aesthetic values of those who lived in the relevant times. Furthermore, it is the way to experience the height of fantasy and beauty.

At present, naked-eye 3D appears more and more commonly on the facades of urban buildings. It brings an incredible visual experience to the audience by simulating the natural 3D 3D space effect. At the same time, it also creates enormous commercial value for city publicity and commercial advertisements. There is much research on naked-eye 3D visual effects, but for right-angle LED screens. Right-angle LED screen's brand-new expression method that has only become popular in recent years, how to convey a realistic naked-eye 3D effect through two LED screens combined at right angles has become a problem worth exploring. To explore the whole design ideas and production process of the naked-eye 3D impact of the right-angle LED screen, this paper is a preliminary study aimed at understanding the performance principle and expression features. Before the case analysis, first, understand the standard virtual 3D space construction techniques. Combining it with the optical illusion phenomenon, according to the expression principle of the naked-eye 3D effect of the right-angle LED screen, it can be summarized into seven expressions: Shadow, Color contrast, Background structure line, Magnify object, Object out of bounds, Object floating, Fusion of picture and background. By analyzing the optical illusion phenomenon used in the case, we summarized the main performance characteristics of the naked eye 3D effect. The emergence of right-angle LED screens breaks the limitation of a single plane of optical illusion art, perfectly combines building facades with naked-eye 3D visual effects, and provides designers with a brand-new creative platform. Understanding its production principles and main expressive features can help designers enter this innovative platform better.
