Kim et al. (2006) and Kim et al. (2009) reported a set of explanatory variables affecting donation frequency when they analyzed nationwide survey data on donations collected in 2002 by Volunteer 21, a nonprofit organization in Korea. The primary purpose of this paper is to correct computational errors found in Kim et al. (2006) and Kim et al. (2009), to rectify major results in the Tables and Figures and to supplement Kim et al. (2009) by providing new results. We add two logistic regressions to the ZIP and a mixture of two Poisson regressions of Kim et al. (2009). Through these two logistic regressions we could detect a set of explanatory variables affecting donation activity (0 or 1) and another set of explanatory variables, in which the volunteer (0, 1) variable is common, discriminating the infrequent donor group from the frequent donor group.

In this study, we propose a simple statistical model for determining the admission or discharge of 668 patients with a chief complaint of dyspnea. For this, we use 11 explanatory variables which are chosen to be important by clinical experts among 55 variables. As a modification process, we determine the discharge interval of each variable by the kernel density functions of the admitted and discharged patients. We then choose the optimal model for determining the discharge of patients based on the number of explanatory variables belonging to the corresponding discharge intervals. Since the numbers of the admitted and discharged patients are not balanced, we use, as the criteria for selecting the optimal model, the arithmetic mean of sensitivity and specificity and the harmonic mean of sensitivity and precision. The selected optimal model predicts the discharge if 7 or more explanatory variables belong to the corresponding discharge intervals.
It is not easy to predict the return on investment in the content business, and there is no index to evaluate cast & crew. The absolute number of TV ratings is steadily declining, but there is no substitute index yet. In this study, we tried to predict the relative popularity of the drama by designing the relative superiority of the individual drama viewership as the response variable and designing the relative superiority of the drama participants as the explanatory variables. We used various machine learning algorithms and added explanatory variables that were found to be useful in previous studies. As a result, with properly combined explanatory variables, a high prediction accuracy of 84% is obtained. In this study, we intend to promote the investment efficiency of the entire contents industry by predicting the relative popularity of the contents.
The purpose of this study was to analyze the influence of child's general property, mother's social and economic property, mother's knowledge and behavior in oral hygiene upon the appearance and treatment of child's primary tooth decay. For the purpose, oral examination was applied to one hundred three(103) small children who were at the age between four(4) and seven(7) and went to two(2) places of day care centers located in Seoul, and questionnaire was done to their mothers. The results of the study are as follows. 1. The number of children's dt is 1.55, the number of their ft is 1.42, dft index for primary tooth is 2,98, ft rate is 45.61%, and the higher child's age is, the higher their value is. 2. Mother's age, educational background, and occupation does not show significant difference with dft index for primary tooth. The higher mother's monthly average income is, the higher child's ft rate is. 3. dft index for primary tooth does not show significant difference according 10 mother's knowledge in oral hygiene. And, the child of mother using dental floss does show higher it rate in comparison with the one of mother who does not use dental floss, 4. Experience using dental clinic to treatment tooth decay does show significant difference with dft index for primary tooth. And experience using dental clinic for the purpose of oral examination and preventive treatment does show significant difference with ft rate. 5. From the result of multiple regression with dependent variable of dft index for primary tooth, there is no variable having significant influence. From the result of multiple regression with dependent variable of ft rate, explanatory variable is 43%, child's age, mother's occupation, mother's monthly average income, and experience using dental clinic to prevent tooth decay are significant explanatory elements. Through the above results, we can know that mother should practice positive behavior in oral hygiene for child to improve oral health. Under the reason, oral health education should be applied toward mothers as soon as possible, and governmental support should be followed so that mothers can participate in the education.
One of the methods of securing the reliability of accounting information is maintaining high audit quality. The first step of improving audit quality is lowering audit engagement risks. Thus, this study analyzed the relationship between the characteristics of accounting firms and audit engagement risks based on the Bayesian Network. For this, Markov Blanket, the minimum explanatory variable set, which affects audit engagement risks, was presented, and based on the drawn causal relationship, sensitivity analysis was conducted to verify the characteristics of accounting firms, which affect audit engagement risks. The existing preceding research that used multiple regression analysis presumes the linearity between explanatory variables and dependent variables, so there was a limit in drawing the relationship between explanatory variables. Therefore, this study figured out the interdependence between variables using the General Bayesian Network and examined the impact that each variable has finally on audit engagement risks that affects the audit quality. The results of this study would greatly contribute to improving the efficiency of the supervisory task by allowing a supervisory institution to identify an accounting firms that does not manage audit engagement risks properly and to improve the supervision of the accounting firms in advance. In addition, this study will be used as a reference when a supervisory institution would improve the system related to audit quality by presenting the characteristics of accounting firms related to the audit quality.

The change of temperature influences on the various aspect, especially human health, plant and animal's growth, economics, industry, and culture of the country. In this article, the autoregressive error (ARE) model has been considered for analyzing the monthly temperature data at the Suwon monitoring site in Korea. In the ARE model, five meteorological variables, four greenhouse gas variables and five pollution variables are used as the explanatory variables for the temperature data set. The five meteorological variables are wind speed, rainfall, radiation, amount of cloud, and relative humidity. The four greenhouse gas variables are carbon dioxide ($CO_2$), methane ($CH_4$), nitrous oxide ($N_2O$), and chlorofluorocarbon ($CFC_{11}$). And the five air pollution explanatory variables are particulate matter ($PM_{10}$), sulfur dioxide ($SO_2$), nitrogen dioxide ($NO_2$), ozone ($O_3$), and carbon monoxide (CO). Among five meteorological variables, radiation, amount of cloud, and wind speed are more influence on the temperature. The radiation influences during spring, summer and fall, whereas wind speed influences for the winter time. Also, among four greenhouse gas variables and five pollution variables, chlorofluorocarbon, methane, and ozone are more influence on the temperature. The monthly ARE model explained about 43-69% for describing the temperature.
Various studies have been conducted on factors influencing the adoption of new technologies. In particular, the factors influencing customers' acceptance of new technologies that emerged along with the arrival of the 4th Industrial Revolution. Theoretical models are mainly based on the technology acceptance model (TAM) or Extended Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology : UTAUT2). However, there are no trust variables in these models. In this study, we added trust variable and tested augmented reality(AR). Three types - trust as an independent variable, as a mediating variable, and as a moderating variable - were analyzed statistically. As a result, trust was most explanatory when viewed as a mediating variable between independent variables and intention to use. In theory, it has been shown that trust acts as a mediating effect. In practice, trust is most important in accepting new technologies, so it is important to prioritize trust.
The Association of Southeast Asian Nations(ASEAN) has been the most essential organization in Asia. In spite of the world economic crisis, Southeast Asian countries have shown fast economic growth since 2000, and they have been actively expanding investments and trades especially with major countries. Research on competitiveness in ASEAN market has spawned an increasingly large literature, but empirical research on the determinants of Korea's export to ASEAN is limited. The purpose of this study is to draw out the determinant of Korean fisheries export to ASEAN by carrying out a panel analysis. For achieving such a purpose, pooled OLS, Hausman Test, Fixed Effect, Random Effect are performed. The last 20 years' data over the period of 1995 to 2014 concentrated on the ASEAN 6 countries such as Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippine, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam is used in this study. Amount of aquatic products export to ASEAN is used as the dependent variable; real exchange rate, real GDP, relative price level and GDP per capita are used as the explanatory variables and FTA as dummy variable. Empirical results show that fixed-effect analysis is the best model among all the models. As the fixed effect model shows, real exchange rate, real GDP, GDP per capita and dummy variable(FTA) play positive and statistically significant roles in fisheries export to ASEAN, while price variable plays a negative and statistically significant role to the dependent variable.
In many real-world data, multiple response variables are often dependent on the same set of explanatory variables. In particular, if several response variables are correlated with each other, simultaneous estimation considering the correlation between response variables might be more effective way than individual analysis by each response variable. In this multivariate regression analysis, least distance estimator (LDE) can estimate the regression coefficients simultaneously to minimize the distance between each training data and the estimates in a multidimensional Euclidean space. It provides a robustness for the outliers as well. In this paper, we examine the least distance estimation method in multivariate linear regression analysis, and furthermore, we present the penalized least distance estimator (PLDE) for efficient variable selection. The LDE technique applied with the adaptive group LASSO penalty term (AGLDE) is proposed in this study which can reflect the correlation between response variables in the model and can efficiently select variables according to the importance of explanatory variables. The validity of the proposed method was confirmed through simulations and real data analysis.
The purpose of this study was to analysis the sanitary management performance based on HACCP system for school foodservice. This study was carried out from September 2008 until December 2008 and is targeted towards schools' dietitians that work at schools with school foodservice. The regional distribution of this research is as follows; 377 schools in Seoul, 648 schools in Gyeonggido, 160 schools in Kangwondo, 438 schools in Choongchungdo equaling 1,623 schools in total. When school foodservices were put through sanitation management achievement level analysis applied by the HACCP system, results displayed that management of temperature (3.96 points), time (4.08 points), and cross-contamination (4.07 points) were all below the average achievement level. HACCP system's achievement level based on the TQM showed that areas for strategy development, leadership, information and analysis had low achievement levels. Achievement levels for CCP are quality check, delivery/distribution process, sterilization/cleansing of food's contact surface. As a result of multiple regression analysis of the factors that influenced sanitation management achievement level of school foodservice HACCP system; sanitary job standard showed 35.6% and CCP achievement levels showed 26.8% explanatory rate. In particular, Kangwondo's number of foodservice provided to per cook was small. Also, the better the processing management was assessed, the higher the sanitary job standard achievement level became resulting to a explanatory rate of 39.5%. Elementary schools showed a higher explanatory rate of 37.0% than middle and high schools. CCP achievement levels in middle and high schools with self-operated foodservice had a 28.0% variable explanatory rate, which was the highest. The better the drainage system, leadership and assessments turned out to be, the higher the CCP achievement levels became. In summary, to revitalize HACCP system that is based on the TQM, it is considered that proper database of HACCP system for school foodservice's sanitation management be constructed and more emphasis should be put on strategy development to improve customers' satisfactory level. In addition, improvements in achievement levels of time, temperature, and cross-contamination for sanitary job standard and CCP achievement level are essential.
