  • This paper is described an expert system which performs the network reconfiguration in order to operate distribution systems optimally using heuristic rules. The proposed network reconfiguration is able to not only eliminate abnormal states such as overload of transformers/lines and low voltage violation, but also achieve minimum power loss and optimum load balancing under normal states. In order to apply the network reconfiguration efficiently, an expert system is adopted a best-first tree searching strategy on the basis of heuristics, and is implemented in AI language Turbo PROLOG. Several examples are used to illustrate concepts described above.

  • 본 논문에서는 선박에서 퍼지 데이터베이스를 이용하여 지능형 화재진압통제시스템의 성능을 개선시키는 방법에 대하여 논의하였다. 규칙과 사례가 통합된 화재진압통제 전문가시스템(C-FFES)에서는 사례기반 추론을 하기 위한 사례베이스가 일반적인 데이터베이스로 구성되어 있어서, 이전에 화재가 발생했던 사례와 현재의 사례가 유사한지를 구별하기가 쉽지 않은 문제점을 지니고 있다. 제안하는 시스템에서는 예외적인 상황에서 화재가 발생하는 사례를 퍼지데이터베이스로 구성하고, 현 상황과 예외적인 상황에서 화재가 발생하는 사례를 조회하기 위하여 퍼지 유사도 개념을 적용하여 현재 입력된 사례와 가장 유사한 사례가 조회될 수 있도록 하였다. 또한 기존의 규칙 기반 FFES(Fire Fighting Expert System), 사례기반 추론에 의해 확장된 C-FFES(Combined-Fire Fighting Expert System) 그리고 제안하는 A-FFES(Advanced Fire fighting Expert System)를 비교를 통해, 제안하는 A-FFES가 화재탐지율을 향상시킴을 보였다.

  • By advent of NNC(Neural Network Chip), it is possible that process in parallel and discern the importance of signal with learning oneself by experience in external signal. So, the design of general purpose operation unit using VHDL(VHSIC Hardware Description Language) on the existing FPGA(Field Programmable Gate Array) can replaced EN(Expert Network) and learning algorithm. Also, neural network operation unit is possible various operation using learning of NN(Neural Network). This paper present general purpose operation unit using hierarchical structure of EN EN of presented structure learn from logical gate which constitute a operation unit, it relocated several layer The overall structure is hierarchical using a module, it has generality more than FPGA operation unit.

  • This paper describes enhancements made on PROSET, an, expert system which can perform setting and coordination of protective relays used in the ultra-high voltage transmission systems.   • Effective use of agricultural informations is crucial for 21 century farming. An interactive agricultural machinery information system was developed. It consisted of databases, knowledge bases, expert systems, a server engine, clients for a multimedia agricultural machinery information system based on Java and distributed objects technology. It is supposed to be served through a nationwide super information communication network for my farmers to utilize it interactively and quickly. Several user-friendly interface programs for users were developed to use texts, static k dynamic images, and expert systems easily. Tools for providing the informations were built with JAVA. Information providers permitted to access to the system such as agricultural machinery companies can easily add or modify the informations using distributed object technology. This system can interact among three groups : prime information provider (or system manager), permitted information providers, and farmers.

  • The roof crane system is used for transporting a variable load to a target position. The goal of crane control system is transporting the load to a goal position as quick as possible without rope oscillation. The crane is generally operated by an expert operator, but recently an automatic control system with high speed and rapid tansportation is required. In this paper, we developed a simple fuzzy controller which has been introduced expert's knowledge base for anti-swing and rapid tranportation to goal position. In particular, we proposed the synthesis reasoning method which synthesizes on the basis of expert knowledge of the angle control input and position control input which are inferenced parallel and simultaneously. And we confirmed that the performance of the developed controller is effective as a result of applying it to crane simulator and also verified whether the proposed synthesis rules have been applied correctly using clustering algorithm from the measured data.

객체 데이터베이스를 이용한 내용기반 이미지 검색 전문가 시스템 (An Expert System for Content-based Image Retrieval with Object Database)

  • In this paper we propose an expert system for content-based image retrieval with object database. The proposed system finds keyword by using knowledge-base and feature of extracted object, and retrieves image by using keyword based image retrieval method. The system can decrease error of image retrieval and save running time. The system also checks whether similar objects exist or not. If not, user can store information of object in object database. Proposed system is flexible and extensible, enabling experts to incrementally add more knowledge and information. Experimental results show that the proposed system is more effective than existing content-based image retrieval method in running time and precision.

  • This thesis investigates an expert system(ES) to propose fault restoration plan by utilizing tree search strategies. In order to cope with an extensive amount of data and frequent breaker switching operations in distribution systems, the database of system configuration is constructed by using binary trees. This remarkably enhances the efficiency of search algorithm and makes the proposed ES easily adaptable to system changes due to switching operations. The rule-base is established to fully utilize the meris of tree-structured database. The inferring strategy is developed mainly based on the best-first search algorithm to increase computation efficiency. The proposed ES has been implemented to efficiently deal with large distribution systems by reducing computational burden remarkably compared with the conventional ES's.

  • A fuzzy expert system for prediction and mitigation of sludge bulking was developed for an activated sludge process which treats waste water from a food industry. The developed system is able not only to infer the degree of progress of sludge bulking but also to generate remedial operation guides which may be sent to the local controllers as remote set points. One of the important consequences through this study is the BI (Bulking Index) inferred by the bulking prediction expert system was found to have a close correlation with the SVI (Sludge Volume Index) which is a practical measure of degree of bulking but needs tedious chores for its measurement.
