  • Some of Spacecraft's structures are flexible so that a certain expected disturbance can easily excite a low frequency vibration on these structures, having very low natural damping. Such vibration will degrade the performance of the system, which should to be kept in a specific shape or attitude against the undesired vibration, In this paper, LQG/LTR controller is developed using an additional dynamic model to increase the performance of the frequency responses at low frequency area,

  • The aim of this study is to research maximum harvesting energy by the optimal input wave condition. The voltage characteristics of the PZT bimorph were investigated in terms of the sine wave, triangle wave and square wave according to frequency range 0~70Hz. It was found that the square wave compared with a triangular wave or square wave was showed the higher output energy. PZT bimorph was mechanically vibrated by solenoid coil experiments, which revealed two voltage peak mode according to frequency. Maximum voltage at second vibration frequency 28Hz demonstrated that the generated DC voltage was proportional to the tip displacement of the bimorph and the phase difference between the input frequency and bimorph vibration frequency was 90 degree. It was expected that optimized design to harvest a much higher energy level from lower frequency vibrations.

  • Long span arch structure is composed of arch as relatively flexible structure and column as relatively rigid structure. In this study, the characteristic of dynamic response is analyzed according to the natural frequency ratio between arch and columns. The result of analysis for arch as relatively vertical vibration mode is dominant, the influence of columns mainly appears at relatively high frequency band according to increase of 1st mode frequency in column. However, the dynamic characteristic of arch structure is expected to vary with not only frequency ratio but interaction between vibration modes of arch and columns.

  • Large space structures exhibit different natural vibration characteristics depending on the aspect ratio of structures such as half-open angle. In addition, since the actual large space structure is mostly supported by the lower structure, it is expected that the natural vibration characteristics of the upper structure and the entire structure will vary depending on the lower structure. Therefore, in this study, the natural vibration characteristics of the dome structure are analyzed according to the natural frequency ratio by controlling the stiffness of the substructure. As the natural frequency of the substructure increases, the natural frequency of the whole structure increases similarly to the natural frequency of the upper structure. Vertical vibration modes dominate at $30^{\circ}$ and $45^{\circ}$, and horizontal vibration modes dominate at $60^{\circ}$ and $90^{\circ}$.

  • In this paper, contour plot is considered as a method to explore the structure of categorical data. For this purpose, the paper suggests a method to sort two-way contingency table with respect to the expected marginals. It is found that the suggested plot provides us with valuable information for the underlying data structure. Firstly, we can investigate independency between the categories by examining the differences of expected frequency contours and observed frequency contours. With the plot, we can also visually investigate the existence of outliers inherent in the data. These properties of the suggested contour plot will be demonstrated by several sets of real data.

  • This paper addresses the assessment of voltage sag costs based on the stochastic prediction of voltage sags. When voltage sags below a certain voltage threshold occur at sensitive industrial process, the industrial customer will experience financial damage. In order to mitigate voltage sag costs and devise efficient solutions to mitigate damage, a study on the financial loss assessment of voltage sags is basically needed. In order to assess the voltage sag costs, the expected sag frequency at a sensitive load point should be calculated by using the concept of the area of vulnerability and historical fault statistics. Then, financial loss due to voltage sags can be obtained by multiplying the expected sag frequency by the cost per sag event.

  • This paper deals with the assessment of voltage sags regarding the variation of system operating conditions. In general, voltage sag assessment is performed by assuming the constant operating condition throughout the year. However, the assumption can lead to assessment errors in case of considerable changes of system operation condition. This paper presents a method to estimate ESF(expected sag frequency) considering the operating conditions according to the changes of power demand throughout the year.

  • Presently, an inductor adapted at MMIC (Monolithic Microwave Integrated Circuit) which is used for cellular phone or PHS operates at quasi-microwave range over 800 MHz. However, a W-CDMA (Wideband Code Division Multiple Access) will use about 2 GHz range. Therefore magnetic film device should be compatible up to 2 GHz. We have deposited Co-Pd-Al-O system film using rf sputtering method which is expected up to 2 GHz, and investigated the effect of Pd content and magnetic field annealing. When Pd composition is 19%, Hk was 118 Oe, and ${\mu}$′showed flat frequency characteristics up to 1.5 GHz. The Q factor (=${\mu}$′/${\mu}$") was 23.3 at 1 GHz, 6.7 at 1.5 GHz and 1.5 at 2 GHz, respectively. Resonance frequency was 2 GHz. Therefore Co-Pd-Al-O thin film could be used at over 1 GHz, and also expected as an inductor material for wide band CDMA type cellular phone.

  • This paper proposes a low power frequency divider for an integrated CMOS phase-locked loop (PLL). An injection-locked frequency divider (ILFD) was designed, along with a current-mode logic (CML) frequency divider in order to obtain a broadband and high-frequency operation. A ring oscillator was designed to operate at 1.2 GHz, and the ILFD was used to divide the frequency of its input signal by two. The structure of the ILFD is similar to that of the ring oscillator in order to ensure the frequency alignment between the oscillator and the ILFD. The CML frequency divider was used as the second stage of the divider. The proposed frequency divider was applied in a conventional PLL design, using a 0.18 ${\mu}m$ CMOS process. Simulation shows that the proposed divide-by-two ILFD and the divide-by-eight CML frequency dividers operated as expected for an input frequency of 1.2 GHz, with a power consumption of 30 mW.
