The special effects on the compressed :vII'EG domain become one of the interesting problems. In this paper, we developed minimal deCilder to effect in DCT compressed domain, proposed the video effects including wipe, dissolve, and zooming. To increase the expandability and portabilitv, the minimal decoder and the effects arc implemented to filters of COM based DirectShow.

The Satellite Operation System (SOS) has been developed for a low earth orbiting remote sensing satellite, Korea Multipurpose Satellite-I, to monitor and control the spacecraft as well as to perform the mission operation. SOS was designed to operate on UNIX in the HP workstations. In the design of SOS, flexibility, reliability, expandability and interoperability were the main objectives. In order to achieve these objectives, a CASE tool, a database management system, consultative committee for space data systems recommendation, and a real-time distributed processing middle-ware have been integrated into the system. A database driven structure was adopted as the baseline architecture for a generic machine-independent, mission specific database. Also a logical address based inter-process communication scheme was introduced for a distributed allocation of the network resources. Specifically, a hotstandby redundancy scheme was highlighted in the design seeking for higher system reliability and uninterrupted service required in a real-time fashion during the satellite passes. Through various tests, SOS had been verified its functional, performance, and inter-face requirements. Design, implementation, and testing of the SOS for KOMPSAT-I is presented in this paper.

In these days, wavelength division multiplexing(WDM) all-optical network are being deployed to support various multimedia communication services. In this paper, various WDM all-optical network are discussed, and a design of an all-optical backbone network has been proposed by using multiple self-healing ring technology. The proposed multiple self-healing ring network improves network expandability and efficiency of bandwidth, while it retains simplicity and ease of network control, which are from the nature self-healing ring. Using PDI traffic modeling technique, a well-balanced all-optical backbone network using multiple self-healing ring is designed for the 2010s in Korea.

Autonomous Station Control System is automatic route control system of large-scale station. The system has flexibility of system step-by-step construction and expandability. A method of step-by-step construction for Autonomous Station Control System has system expansion and subsystem software expansion. The system has autonomous controllability and autonomous coordinability for system step by step construction. With property for a basis, each of subsystem communicates data field. Also, Each subsystem has its own management system, Autonomous Data Manager to manage itself and coordinate with the others. This paper make clear test method for Autonomous Station Control System expansion and software expansion. The first test method of system increasing construction is single station construction test. The second of method is connecting test the neighbor's Autonomous Station Control System. The third of method is connecting test the Autonomous Line Management System. Also, the test method of software expansion take the case of route control subsystem.

This study proposes the method for converging Buddhist Worldview into games. The Rogue-like game "Dungeed" and "Nectar Ritual Painting" were selected for analysis. Next, the characteristics of the Buddhist worldview in Nectar Ritual Painting and the Rogue-like game Dungeed were compared and analyzed. As a result, this study proposed game elements of Rogue-like that analyzed in the characteristics of Buddhist world view. In the future, we will examine the expandability of the game through the Buddhist Worldview.

Analyze the Android game framework that can be apply to the Application development of new areas and suggest Document-View pattern of a design pattern, design that this applies the Android framework(DVAGF) for novice Game programming learner. Case of Snake game development through DVAGF is supporting modularity of the code, reusability and expandability that seems that the learners can easily understand the game programming basic structure. In addition, the Android framework (DVAGF) seems to provide a basis that can be easily extended to 2D and 3D games.

Because of the rapid growth of Internet, the firewall is generally used to protect the network sorority. The firewall on Linux or FreeBSD Kernal, which is widely used, supports either Gateway or Bridge Mode. In this study, we present the firewall which supports simultaneously Gateway and Bridge Mode. For the application service, it is suggested that the firewall which has excellent expandability ran construct a network without another proxy.

This paper aims to assess the feasibility of a new and less-focused type of online sociability (the watching network) as a useful information source for personalized recommendations. In this paper, we recommend scientific articles of interests by using the shared interests between target users and their watching connections. Our recommendations are based on one typical social bookmarking system, CiteULike. The watching network-based recommendations, which use a much smaller size of user data, produces suggestions that are as good as the conventional Collaborative Filtering technique. The results demonstrate that the watching network is a useful information source and a feasible foundation for information personalization. Furthermore, the watching network is substitutable for anonymous peers of the Collaborative Filtering recommendations. This study shows the expandability of social network-based recommendations to the new type of online social networks.

The maximum number of nodes in WDM self healing ring network in limited by several factors including network architecture and ASE noise due to EDFAs at each optical ADM node. In this paper, the maximum node numbers for several protection architectures and bit rates limited by ASE are calculated and compared with the number limited by wavelength numbers. Appropriate design rules can be deduced from these results.

There are many applicable services such as remote metering, load control, distribution line automation, Pole transformer Monitoring having their own networks in the electric power company. The application of the optical network technology as the back-born network to the Automation Systems in KEPCO is potentially beneficial in reliability, speed, and expandability. The 1-core and 2-core optical modems were developed and used by the Distribution Automation System. But, They had some disadvantages and advantages. So, We designed the new optical modems applied each advantages. This paper presents some of design efforts and test results for the multi-channel optical modem at KRPRI.
