A construction of the exhibition evaluation support system based on GUI by visitors behavior analysis

  • The present thesis is on a construction of the system which supports exhibition evaluation of curators, which automatically collects, keeps, and totalizes objective data on visitor behavior in museums, and which comprehensively displays the results by tables and graphs. The system is composed by access points and mobile exhibition exposition devices in the museum operating together. Obtainable visitor information include a user number, an average staying period, contents use hour, and exhibition viewing frequency. Prototype experiment at museums shows that the system is effective in efficient data collection and exhibition evaluation and is expected to become an information collecting tool for visitor research and an exhibition evaluation tool for exhibition improvement.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the facilities, the current status, and the problems of Korean Exhibition Industry and to provide its future direction based on analysis of the characteristics and the recent trend of German Exhibition Industry. Data were obtained from previous research papers, periodicals, magazines, and newspapers. Also, statistical data provided by AUMA(Ausstellungs- und Messe- Ausschuss der Deutschen Wirtschaft e.V.), Association of Korean Exhibition Industries, and Global Exhibition Portal were used. In the result part of this study, various issues such as similarities and differences between Korean and German Exhibition Industry and problems of Korean Exhibition Industry were discussed. The strategies to improve the competitiveness of Korean Exhibition Industry were suggested. They are as follows ; development of global and specialized exhibitions, training of professional human resources for exhibition, formulating of aggressive and powerful oversee marketing, formation of oversee network, improving of laws, regulation and system in such a way to meet the realistic needs of exhibition, building of infrastructure such as roads, traffic networks and accomodations, raise of the Korea image and strengthen of quality of exhibition service.

전시컨벤션센터 식품박람회와 관련된 빅데이터의 의미연결망 분석 (A Semantic Network Analysis of Big Data regarding Food Exhibition at Convention Center)

  • The purpose of this study was to visualize the semantic network with big data related to food exhibition at convention center. For this, this study collected data containing 'coex food exhibition/bexco food exhibition' keywords from web pages and news on Google during one year from January 1 to December 31, 2016. Data were collected by using TEXTOM, a data collecting and processing program. From those data, degree centrality, closeness centrality, betweenness centrality and eigenvector centrality were analyzed by utilizing packaged NetDraw along with UCINET 6. The result showed that the web visibility of hospitality and destinations was high. In addition, the web visibility was also high for convention center programs, such as festival, exhibition, k-pop and event; hospitality related words, such as tourists, service, hotel, cruise, cuisine, travel. Convergence of iterated correlations showed 4 clustered named "Coex", "Bexco", "Nations" and "Hospitality". It is expected that this diagnosis on food exhibition at convention center according to changes in domestic environment by using these web information will be a foundation of baseline data useful for establishing convention marketing strategies.

  • Recently, the exhibition industry has developed rapidly with the development of information technologies. Most exhibitors in an exhibition plan and deploy many events that may provide advantages to visitors as a method of effective promotion. The growth and propagation of wireless technologies is a powerful marketing tool for exhibitors. However, exhibitors still rely on domain experts who are costly and time consuming because of the manual knowledge input procedure. Moreover, it is prone to biases and errors and not suitable for managing fast-growing and tremendous amounts of data that far exceed a human's ability to comprehend. To overcome these problems, data mining technology may be a great alternative, but it needs to be fit to each exhibition. This study uses data mining technology with the Predictive Model Markup Language (PMML) to suggest a system that supports intelligent services and that improves stakeholder satisfaction. This system provides advantages to the exhibitor, show organizer, and system designer, and is first enhanced by integrating data mining technologies through the knowledge of exhibition experts. Second, using the PMML, the system can automate the process of applying data mining models to solve real-time processing problems in the exhibition environment.

  • 전시회는 전시업체가 새로운 상품이나 서비스를 관람객에게 알리기 위해 개최되는 것으로 효과적인 마케팅 수단으로 중요한 역할을 수행한다. 이처럼 전시회의 중요성이 점점 커짐에 따라, 국내 전시 산업은 많은 양적 성장을 이뤄왔다. 그러나, 양적 성장에 비해 전시 산업의 질적 성장은 이에 미치지 못하는 실정이다. 따라서 전시회의 질정 성장을 이루기 위해서는 관람객의 행동 패턴을 이해하여 관람객들의 전시 관람 수준과 만족도를 높일 필요성이 있다. 본 연구에서는 관람객들의 전시 관람 행동 패턴을 분석하기 위해 다음과 같은 연구 프레임워크를 사용한다. 첫 번째 단계는 본 연구의 방법론을 적용하기 적합한 전시회를 선정하는 단계이다. 두 번째 단계는 관찰 조사 방법을 수행하는 단계이다. 마지막 세 번째 단계는 수집된 자료들을 분석하는 단계이다. 분석 단계에서는 부스들의 개별 특성을 파악하였고, 더 나아가 관람객들의 전시 관람 행동 패턴을 분석하기 위해 데이터마이닝 기법을 사용하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 전시 기획자에게 유용한 정보를 제공할 뿐만 아니라 참관객들이 원하는 정보를 원하는 방식으로 제공하는 개인화서비스를 가능하게 하여 궁극적으로 전시회 관람의 질과 만족도를 크게 향상시킬 수 있을 것이라고 기대한다.

부스 방문데이터를 활용한 사회 네트워크 분석 (Social Network Analysis Using Booth Visiting Data)

  • As development of exhibition, it has been an important issue to analyze exhibition for the next success of exhibition. A lot of existing researches have focused on the exhibitor's and visitor's satisfaction problem. However, the exhibitor's satisfaction and success of exhibition come from the analysis of exhibition in the network level. Booths composing exhibition are regarded as nodes in network, so the trace of visitors visiting booths can construct the arc of networks. The purpose of this study is to analyze the booth visiting pattern and components of network through social network analysis using data collected in the $17^{th}$ International KIDS & EDU EXPO for Children. This research is the first approach of network-leveled analysis of exhibition, and the result of network analysis is helpful to support the booth arrangement in next exhibition. Our analysis results the following implications. First, Booths with high degree centrality or betweenness centrality should be deployed in the wide space or corner of the exhibition hall. Finally, booths within a block should be deployed in the same space of the exhibition hall to provide convenience to the visitors and to enhance exhibition performance.

A Study on Experiences with the Data-Embeded Exhibition

  • 본 연구는 데이터를 통해 현대 사회의 권력 구조, 사회적 불평등 양상을 탐구한 《히토 슈타이얼-데이터의 바다》의 관람 경험 및 전시 수용을 설문조사를 통해 실증적으로 고찰했다. 데이터 분석 결과, 인지된 가치 중 심미적 가치가 가장 높은 평가를 받았으며, 인지된 경험 품질 측면에서는 작가, 작품, 전시 주제에 대한 관심이 주요 요인으로 확인되었다. 설문참여자들은 전시만족도(71.4%)와 전시몰입도(70.8%)를 각각 높게 평가했다. 가설 검증 결과를 종합해보면, 디지털 미디어에 대한 관심 수준, 전시 작품 혹은 전시 주제에 대한 관심이 전시만족도에 긍정적인 영향을 미쳤으며, 전시몰입도 또한 전시만족도와 유의미한 상관관계를 나타냈다. 나아가, 상술한 전시에 대한 이용 태도는 타인에 대한 전시 추천과 전시 재관람 의사와 양의 상관관계를 보였다.

미술관에서 평면전시와 입체전시에 따른 관람행태의 변화;부산시립미술관을 중심으로 (The Variation of Visitor' Behavior in relation to the Planar Exhibition and the Three Dimensional Exhibition in Art Museum;focused on Busan Museum of Modern Art)

  • The objective of this study is to investigate how visitors' behavior change in relation to the pattern of exhibition in art museum. For the purpose Busan Museum of Modern Art was selected as the sample in this study. And two patterns of exhibition, namely the planar exhibition and the three dimensional exhibition, were surveyed using the tracking movement method. The data gathered from random-sampling 60 visitors in a art museum was analyzed by the correlation analysis and T-test. The results are as follows; 1) There is no meaningful difference in visitors' behavior by the exhibition pattern in terms of their viewing area, viewing time, viewing distance, viewing velocity, viewing rate. 2) In contrast, there is meaningful difference in terms of the number of stops by visitors and the time spent without movement to see the objects; visitors stopped more often and stayed longer within the three dimensional exhibition space than the planar exhibition in a art museum. In sum, visitors extrinsically show no big behavioral difference between the planar exhibition and the three dimensional exhibition, but much difference in the way they communicate with objects; they show more active behavior within the three dimensional exhibition space.

근접 무선 통신 기반 박람회 지원 서비스의 구축 및 운영 : 모터쇼 적용 사례 (The Development and Operation of NFC-based Exhibition Support Service : A Motor Show Case)

  • With NFC technology, visitors can easily enjoy exhibit-related information and services. The participating firms can accumulate the visitor data and build up networks with potential visitors. This paper is to report an implementation and operation case of an NFC-based exhibition support service which creates new value as above. For this objective, we introduce the issues in constructing NFC-based exhibition support service. Moreover, we analyze visitor behaviors based on the tag touch data collected, and calculate the economic values generated. The NFC-based exhibition support service in this paper was applied to Hyundai Motors' booth in the 2013 Seoul Motor Show. This paper concludes with implications for business operators that are interested in applying NFC technology to exhibition spaces.

패션관련 전시회의 현황 및 분석 (The Analysis of Fashion Exhibition)

  • Various types of industry, from manufacturing industry to service industry, can be a subject of exhibition. So, subdivided studies about exhibition for each type of industry or field are necessary. However, there are still insufficient studies about them. Also, fashion industry related exhibitions should be classified differently from other industries' exhibitions because of their special features. Hence, this study examines that how an exhibition is utilized as a promotion means of a company and the present condition of a fashion exhibition. It also compares a fashion exhibition with other industrial exhibitions to suggest the effective operations and the progressive promotion of the fashion exhibition. This study uses questionnaire from 5 companies, which participated fashion related exhibitions. Data of this study is statistically analyzed using SPSS for window ver. 10.0 program. As a result of this study, fashion related companies' recognition of exhibitions has been increased. However, in terms of exhibition participation. attitudes such as pre-promotion or pre-education for the staff, who are in charge of the exhibition booths, and the outcome of the exhibition aren't maximized because the right understanding concerning exhibitions is lacking and long-term preparation is insufficient. Also, advertisement for the exhibitions isn't enough because of insufficient preparation and absence of pre-promotion, so consultation with promising buyers can't be activated. Even though there are consultations, the consultations don't have much effect.
