Activity of Muscles Surrounding Shoulder Joint during Push-Up Exercise according to the Change of Tilting Table Angle

  • PURPOSE: This study was implemented to measure the muscle activity of muscles surrounding shoulder during push-up exercise according to the slope angle. METHODS: This study has research subject consisting of 25 normal male adults without neurologic or musculoskeletal injury in shoulder part. EMG was used as a tool for measuring muscle activity and four muscles including upper trapezius (UT), middle trapezius (MT), Lower Trapezius (LT), and Serratus Anterior (SA) were chosen for measuring the muscle activity of muscles surrounding shoulder. Tilting table slope was set at $0^{\circ}$, $30^{\circ}$, $45^{\circ}$, and $60^{\circ}$ and push-up motion was performed three time for each case to use the average value. The measured value was used after generalization process to create %RVC value where the measured value was standardized by using $0^{\circ}$ as a standard. RESULTS: There was a difference of muscle activity according to the tilting table slope during push-up exercise. In UT, MT, and SA, there was no significant $0^{\circ}$ and $30^{\circ}$, $45^{\circ}$ and $60^{\circ}$. But there was significant $30^{\circ}$ and $45^{\circ}$. LT was significant difference between $45^{\circ}$ and $60^{\circ}$ (p<.05). CONCLUSION: There are cases where push-up exercise should be selectively implemented due to shoulder problems. According to this results between $0^{\circ}$ and $30^{\circ}$, push up will be able to more effectively exercise. Applying proper angle of tilting table for push-up to patients who have difficulties in performing motions along with physical consumption can deliver effective and easy exercise program.

상지림프부종환자의 견갑골안정화운동이 안정시 견갑골 위치에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Scapular Stabilizing Exercise on Resting Scapular Position of Breast Cancer-related Lymphedema Patients)

  • PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to confirm the effect of exercise combined with scapular stabilizing on resting scapular position (RSP) in breast cancer-related lymphedema patients. METHODS: A total of 20 patients with lymphedema after mastectomy participated in the study. All assessments of the patients edema sides (ES) and non-edema sides (NES) were evaluated. The assessment tools used wad RSP. RSP are; 1) scapular index, 2) 8th thoracic spines process (T8S) to inferior angle of scapular (IA) distance, 3) standing pectoralis minor (PM) distance, and 4) PM index (PMI). All patients carried out a scapular stabilizing exercise seven times a week for 8 weeks. The collected data were analyzed with PASW 18.0. The statistical significance (${\alpha}$) was 0.05. RESULTS: According to the results, all the variable between the ES and NES for RSP were statistically significant (p<0.05) in the pre-test. After the exercise, the differences in T8S to IA distance and the PMI between the ES and NES weren't statistically significant. The results of the RSP showed a significant improvement in T8S to IA distance, standing PM distance, and PMI. CONCLUSION: The results of this study showed that, performing the scapular stabilizing exercise had a significant effect on improving RPS in breast cancer-related lymphedema patients.

Theoretical Study of Effective Resistance Exercise for Sarcopenia

  • Sarcopenia is a phenomenon in which muscle function, including muscle strength, deteriorates as muscle mass decreases in the process of increasing age. The diagnosis of sarcopenia utilizes total muscle mass and limb muscle mass, and limb muscle mass is expressed as height squared, body weight, and BMI. Each divided value is used as an index, mainly less than 7.23 kg/m2 for men and less than 5.67 kg/m2 for women. Grip strength, standing up from a chair, and walking speed were mainly used as physical function factors, and grip strength less than 27 kg for men and less than 16 kg for women were used as indicators. The limb muscle mass showed a decreasing trend after peaking in the mid-20s in men, and maintaining a gradual peak in women from the mid-20s to the mid-40s, showing a more rapid decline in men. The rate of decrease in muscle mass and strength continues to increase after the age of 20, and muscle strength rapidly decreases after the age of 80. In Korean men, total muscle mass and limb muscle mass show a decreasing trend from the mid-30s, and a more markedly rapid decrease from the age of 60. For women, it remains constant from the age of 30 to the age of 50, then gradually decreases after the mid-50s, and shows a rather rapid decrease after the mid-70s, showing a more gradual decrease than that of men. Men show a sharp decrease from the mid-40s when limb muscle mass is divided by height squared, and women show a marked decrease after 70 years old when limb muscle mass is divided by height squared. Exercise for the prevention and treatment of sarcopenia results in an increase in protein assimilation hormone, an increase in antioxidant activity, a decrease in inflammation, an increase in muscle insulin sensitivity, and an increase in protein synthesis. Resistance exercise is basically used, and aerobic exercise and equilibrium A combination of exercises is effective. In addition, for a more efficient effect of sarcopenia through resistance exercise, it is necessary to supplement nutrition including protein.

육상선수들의 트래드밀운동 전 ${\cdot}$ 후 Blood Lactate, LDH, Glucose의 비교 분석 (Comparative Analysis of the Pre-Post a Treadmill Exercise on the Blood Lactate, LDH and Glucose in the Runners)

  • The purpose of this study was to the Pre-Post submaximal exercise for analyze the Blood Lactate, LDH(Lactate Dehydrogenase) and Glucose in the runners. The subjects were 12 volunteers 6 sprinters and 6 distance runners who agreed to intention of this study. Subjects peformed until possible all-out trials. Blood samples were taken from a Ante cubital vein Pre-Post exercise and every rest 5min during the all-out trial. The results obtained were summarized as follow; 1) Blood Lactate of Pre-Post exercise in treadmill test showed no significant difference between sprinters and distance runners, but showed significant in sprinters and distance respectively. 2) Serum LDH of Pre-Post exercise in treadmill test showed no significant difference between sprinters and distance runners, and that showed no significant in sprinters and distance respectively. 3) Blood Glucose of Pre-Post exercise in treadmill test showed no significant difference between sprinters and distance runners, and showed no significant in distance, but showed significant in sprinters. These data indicate first that the value of 4mmol/${\ell}$, commonly referred to as OBLA(Onset of Blood Lactate),may often underestimate the upper limit of tolerance to lactate during a maximal endurance peformance test until all-out. second, our date suggested that the sprinters exercise decreases serum LDH activities and the distance increases serum LDH activities. therefore serum LDH concentration changed following a different exercise. Third. for the concentration of the glucose in blood the sprinters was show to be higher. However it needs more studies to find out the relationship between this result and the fitness factor. therefor, since the runners has an intermittent characteristic which includes a frequent momentary change, it needs the fitness training that being consisted of various training. in the training method, it needs the training process which is from the whole fitness to specific fitness to improve general physical ability.

수문학적 가뭄지수와 가상가뭄훈련에 의한 저수지의 최적 물 공급 방안 연구 (A Study on the Optimal Water Supply using Virtual Drought Exercise with Hydrological Drought Index)

  • 가뭄은 장시간동안 강수의 부족으로 발생하는 자연현상이며, 지역에 따라 해마다 여러 가지 피해를 발생시키고 있다. 특히 1994$\sim$1995년과 2001년에 발생한 가뭄은 피해가 매우 심각하였으며 중.소규모의 저수지가 바닥을 드러냈을 뿐 아니라 상당한 경제적인 손실도 발생하였다. 하지만 가뭄관리계획에 의해 저수지를 통한 최적의 물 공급방안을 제시함으로써 이러한 피해들을 최소화 시킬 수 있을 것이다. 본 연구에서는 최적의 저수지 운영을 위한 전문가시스템을 개발하여 수문학적 가뭄지수인(Modified Surface Water Supply Index, MSWSI) 값과 저수지 유입량과의 연계를 통한 가상가뭄모의운영(Virtual Drought Exercise, VDE)을 실시한 후 도출된 결과를 바탕으로 가뭄단계에 따른 댐 운영대안을 제시하였다. 가상가뭄모의운영으로 여러 가지 가뭄사상에 대한 효과적인 장 단기 대안을 도출할 수 있었으며 가뭄기간동안 최적의 물 공급방안을 준비하는데 효과적으로 사용될 수 있을 것이라고 판단된다.

골프 종목 체육특기자 학생들의 대학생활 문화 알아보기 (Finding ouf the Culture of University life of Students Specialized in Golf)

  • 본 연구는 새로운 운동문화가 형성되어 가고 있는 과도기적 상황에서, 운동을 겸하고 있는 대학에 재학 중인 골프 종목 체육특기자 학생 선수들을 대상으로 그들이 대학 생활에서 자신이 실제로 해 보거나 겪어 본 과정을 근거이론 방법을 바탕으로 심층적으로 조명하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 충청도에 있는 A 대학 골프학전공에 재학 중인 10명의 특기자 학생을 연구 참여자로 선택하였으며, 이들과의 심층 면담을 통하여 자료를 수집하였다. 자료 분석 과정은 Strauss와 Corbin(1990)이 밝힌 분석 방법에 따라 개념에 대해 결론을 끌어내고 개념 간의 관계를 밝히기 위해 코딩 패러다임을 구성하였고, 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 개방 코딩에서 117개 개념, 16개 하위범주, 10개 상위범주가 도출되었다. 둘째로 인과적 조건은 "비대면 수업의 대학 생활", 맥락적 요소는 "실기 운동", "수업 참여"로 범주화하였으며 중심현상은 "골프 종목 체육특기자 학생으로서의 대학 생활 의미"로 보았다. 중재 조건은 운동과 학업을 함께하는 과정을 살펴본 결과 "관계 형성", "능력향상"으로 정리되었으며 작용/상호작용전략은 "학문 연구", "부정적인 생각"으로 범주화했으며, 마지막으로 결과는 "지난 대학 생활 되돌아보기", "정체성", "미래 설계"로 구성하였다. 이러한 연구 결과를 바탕으로 파악된 체육특기자(골프) 학생들의 운동과 학업을 병행하는 삶의 과정에 대한 모형을 근거 이론적 패러다임의 방법 절차에 따라 범주화하였으며, 골프 종목 체육특기자들은 운동 생활이 학업 생활에 긍정적인 영향을 받게 됨에 따라, 쉼이 없는 대학 생활을 이어나가고 있었으며, 그리고 운동과 학업을 모두 포함할 수 있는 학생 선수의 역량 향상을 위한 정책적 시사점을 제시하였다.

복합운동과 아사이베리 섭취가 중년여성의 인슐린 및 당화혈색소에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Combined Exercise and Acaiberry Ingestion on Insulin and Glycated Hemoglobin in Middle-aged Women)

  • 본 연구는 중년여성을 대상으로 복합운동과 아사이베리 섭취가 인슐린 및 당화혈색소에 미치는 영향을 알아보는데 목적이 있다. 40-50대 중년여성을 대상으로 아사이베리 섭취군, 아사이베리 섭취+복합운동군, 복합운동군으로 분류하였다. 복합운동은 8주 동안 주 3회, 준비운동과 정리운동을 포함한 60분간 실시하였다. 유산소운동은 HRmax 50-60%으로 20분간 트레드밀 걷기운동을 실시하였으며 저항운동은 1RM기준 50-60% 강도로 20분간 실시하였다. 아사이베리 섭취는 아침과 저녁 식사 전 5g의 아사이베리 파우더를 물에 녹여 섭취하였다. 자료처리는 아사이베리 섭취군, 아사이베리 섭취+복합운동군, 복합운동군의 비교를 위하여 2-way RGRM ANOVA를 실시하였다. 결론적으로 8주간 복합운동과 아사이베리 섭취는 당화혈색소를 개선시키지 못하였다. 향후 보다 장기간의 처치를 하고 섭취량과 섭취방법, 운동강도 등도 철저하게 통제하면서 진행을 한다면 인슐린과 당화혈색소의 보다 명확한 변화 양상을 파악할 수 있을 것으로 생각된다.

재활체육프로그램 구성요인의 상대적 중요도 및 우선순위 분석 (Analysis of Priority Factors and Relative Importance about the Components of Rehabilitation Physical Activity Program)

  • 본 연구는 재활체육프로그램의 구성요인과 요소를 탐색하여 도출하고 각 요소 간의 상대적 중요도를 분석함으로써 재활체육프로그램의 체계적인 구성과 효율적 시행을 위한 토대를 마련함에 그 목적이 있다. 재활체육프로그램의 구성 요인과 요소를 도출하기 위하여 장애인을 대상으로 재활체육 및 장애인체육 관련 프로그램을 운영한 기관 단체 병원에 2년 이상 종사한 경험이 있는 지도자, 특수체육교사, 특수체육학계 전문가 20명을 대상으로 델파이기법(Delphi Technique)을 활용하여 3차에 걸쳐 설문을 진행하였다. 도출된 재활체육프로그램 구성요인들 간의 상대적 중요도를 도출하기 위해 의사결정 방식의 과학적 방법 중 하나 인 계층분석(Analytic Hierarchy Process: AHP)을 실시하였다. 연구결과 재활체육프로그램의 구성 요인으로 체력운동, 심리운동, 수중운동, 감각 지각운동, 보행운동, 운동기술 6개 요인과 21개의 하위요소로 도출되었다. 도출된 재활체육프로그램의 구성요인의 우선순위를 분석한 결과, 체력운동(33.2%), 수중운동(20.6%), 심리운동(15.1%), 감각 지각운동(11.7%), 보행운동( 10.8%), 운동기술(8.6%) 순으로 중요도가 나타났다. 또한 재활체육프로그램 구성 요인의 가중치가 부여된 상태에서 전체 요소 간 우선순위를 분석한 결과, 근력 및 근지구력운동이 23.4%의 가중치를 나타내어 가장 중요한 요소인 것으로 나타났으며, '명상'은 0.3%의 가중치를 나타내어 가장 낮은 중요 요소인 것으로 나타났다.

Effects of Palmijihwangtang (PMT) and Exercise on Glucose Metabolism in Myocardium Cell Membrane and Pancreas $\beta$-Cell of Zucker Diabetic Fatty Rats

  • Objective: Non-insulin Dependent Diabetes Mellitus (NIDDM) is characterized by insulin resistance, which affects the glucose transportation inside the cell. The purpose of this study was to find out how Palmijihwangtang (PMT) and exercise influence the glucose transport metabolism in the organ muscles of ZDF (zucker diabetic fatty) rat with insulin resistance. Methods: Using three male normal zucker rats and twelve male obese rats, they were divided into a normal lean group (N=3), obese control group (N=3), obese exercises group (N=3), obese medication group (N=3), obese exercise and medication group (N=3). Treadmill exercise were repeated with 27m/min speed for an hour a day, five days a week, for 8 weeks. And 20β/sub ¢/ of PMT was orally administered twice a day for 8 weeks, after that a period blood sample was exsanguinated by heart perforation and was analyzed. Results: The body weight of the OM and OEM group showed a significant decrease among all the obese groups. The blood insulin level increased significantly of all groups in comparison with the N group. All of the OE, OM and the OEM groups showed a significant decrease of insulin level compared with the OC group; especially the OEM group demonstrated the most among obese groups. Regarding GLUT-4 level, OEM was the unique group showed a significant increase among all the obese groups. The VAMP-2 level in myocardium cell membrane was increased significantly at OC group in comparison with the N group, whereas the OEM group only showed significant decrease of it. In addition, the VAMP-2 level in pancreas β-cell was significantly decreased at all the obese groups in comparison with the N group. Only the OEM group showed significant increase among all the obese groups. Conclusion: Palmijihwangtang (PMT) and exercise could effectively promote the insulin metabolism in pancreas β-cells and activate the glucose transport process in myocardium cell membrane by lowering the insulin resistance of ZDF rats.
