본 논문에서는 비전공자들을 위한 교양과목으로 적용할 수 있는 기초 데이터과학 실습 커리큘럼을 제안하고, 엑셀(스프레드시트) 데이터 분석 도구를 활용한 교육 방법을 제안하였다. 데이터 수집, 데이터 가공 및 데이터 분석을 위한 도구에는 엑셀, R, 파이썬, SQL(Structured Query Language) 등이 있다. R, 파이썬 및 SQL은 데이터 과학을 실습하는 데 있어, 프로그래밍 언어와 자료구조를 이해해야 한다. 반면에, 엑셀 도구는 비전공자들에게도 친숙한 데이터 분석도구로서, 프로그래밍 언어에 대한 학습 부담이 없다. 그리고 기초적인 데이터과학 실습을 엑셀로 진행하면, 데이터과학 이론을 습득하는 데 집중할 수 있는 장점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 한 학기 분량의 기초 데이터과학 실습 커리큘럼과 주별 엑셀 실습 내용을 제안하였다. 그리고, 교육 내용 실체를 실증하기위해, 엑셀 데이터분석 도구를 활용하여, 선형 회귀 분석(Linear Regression Analysis) 예제들을 제시하였다.

본 연구는 수학과목 학습이 부진하고, 특히 함수식과 그래프의 관계에 대한 이해가 부족한 특성화 고등학생들을 대상으로 학생들에게 친숙한 엑셀 프로그램을 사용하여 지도한 효과를 살펴보았다. 엑셀의 식, 표, 그래프를 한 화면에 담을 수 있는 기능과 스크롤바를 이용하여 그래프를 움직이는 기능이 주로 사용되었다. 함수개념을 과정관점과 대상관점으로 나누고, 함수 표상을 표, 식, 그래프로 나누었을 때 학생들이 지도를 통하여 표상 내에서 또는 관점 간 유연한 전환이 일어나는 것을 목표로 지도하였고 긍정적인 효과가 나타났다. 실험은 특성화 고등학교 2학년 학생 5명을 대상으로 5일간 컴퓨터실에서 실시되었다. 학생들에 대한 진단평가를 토대로 중학교 수준의 함수와 그래프를 엑셀을 이용해서 지도하였다. 학생들에게는 엑셀파일이 제공되었고, 학생들은 수업 중에 실제 조작해보고 조작결과를 배포된 활동지에 적고 함께 토론하는 방식으로 수업을 진행하였다.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of commercial home-tooth bleaching agents on the color of tooth. Twenty five sound extracted teeth were randomly divided into five groups. The color differences between before and after treatment with five types of tooth bleaching agents (7.5% hydrogen peroxide Nite White $Excel^{(R)}$, 10% carbamide peroxide Nite White $Excel^{(R)}$, 16% carbamide peroxide Nite White $Excel^{(R)}$, 10% carbamide peroxide Insta-BriteTM, 20% carbamide peroxide Insta-$Brite^{TM}$) were evaluated. The results were as follows: 1. By 2 week home tooth bleaching agent applications, the values ($L^*$) of bovine teeth increased as high as 4.38 $\sim$ 8.80 when comparing to those of the samples before treatment, and the color difference (${\Delta}E^*$) showed as high as 10.16 $\sim$ 15.04. 2. 16% carbamide peroxide Nite White Excel induced significantly greater ${\Delta}L^*$ than other test edgroups except for 7.5% hydrogen peroxide Day White Excel, and significantly greater ${\Delta}E^*$ than other tested groups by 2 week bleaching agent treatments (p<0.01). 3. 16% carbamide peroxide Nite White Excel(${\Delta}L^*$=8.80, ${\Delta}E^*$=15.04) induced significantly greater ${\Delta}L^*$ and ${\Delta}E^*$ than 10% carbamide peroxide Nite White Excel(${\Delta}L^*$=5.01, ${\Delta}E^*$=10.16)(p<0.01), but significant difference between 10% carbamide peroxide Insta-Brite(${\Delta}L^*$=4.38, ${\Delta}E^*$=10.51) and 20% carbamide peroxide Insta-Brite(${\Delta}L^*$=5.63, ${\Delta}E^*$=11.23) was not shown in ${\Delta}L^*$ and ${\Delta}E^*$(p>0.01). 4. 16% carbamide peroxide Nite White Excel(${\Delta}L^*$=8.80, ${\Delta}E^*$=15.04) which were applied in night time induced significantly greater ${\Delta}L^*$ and ${\Delta}E^*$ than 7.5% hydrogen peroxide Day White Excel(${\Delta}L^*$=8.47, ${\Delta}E^*$=12.75) which were applied in day time. Conclusions: These results demonstrate that all the commercial home-tooth bleaching agents have appreciable bleaching effect on teeth, and the effects of home-tooth bleaching agents which are used during night time are affected by content of carbamide peroxide. Especially the whitening effect of home tooth bleaching agents that are used through night time is greater than that of short time-applying tooth bleaching agent.

고령층의 폭과 수가 점차 늘어남에 따라 시니어의 능동적인 사회 참여를 위해 정보화 교육의 필요성이 제기된다. 대부분의 시니어들은 디지털 기기에 대한 경험이 적고 정규 교육 과정에서 정보화 교육을 받지 못함으로 인해 사무 업무의 문서 활용에 취약함을 보인다. 시니어의 활발한 사회 활동을 위해 기업 문서 관리에 필수적인 엑셀 활용 교육이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 이를 위해 시니어를 위한 엑셀 활용 시스템 '해피시니어셀'을 설계하고 구현하였다. 제안된 시스템을 시니어들에게 적용하여 설문한 결과 기존 엑셀에 비해 메뉴사용 편의성, 화면색구성 만족도, 화면확대 효과성 등이 향상됨을 보였다. '해피시니어셀'을 사용하여 시니어의 엑셀 활용 능력 향상과 사회 활동의 촉진제 역할을 할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

Forest Survey consists of road survey, topographic survey, tree mapping survey, stream survey and also ridge survey. Information from forest survey is important and become essential in preparing base map to be used for forest harvesting planning and control. With the current technologies technique of data processing and mapping from traditionally hand drawn method had shifted to a computer system particularly the use of Computer Aided Design (CAD). This gives great advantages to the forest managers and logging operators. However data processing and mapping duration could be further reduced by integrating CAD with other established software such as Microsoft Excel. This time study to show that there is significance difference in term of duration for data processing and efficiency using AutoCAD in combination with Microsoft Excel program as compare to the use of AutoCAD program alone. From the study, it shows that the integration of AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel is able to reduce 70% of duration for data processing and mapping as compared to the use of AutoCAD program alone.

정보화 수준을 검정하는 다양한 영역 중 실기시험은 채점 강의 문제로 많은 비용과 시간이 소요되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 컴퓨터활용능력을 검정하는 Excel 실기시험을 자동으로 채점하는 웹 기반 채점엔진을 개발하고자 한다. 출제자의 출제의도를 반영한 채점항목 및 채점기준을 유연하게 등록할 수 있게 하고, 틀리거나 감점된 문항에 대해 오답의 이유를 정확하게 제공하는 데에 개발의 초점을 맞추었다. 엑셀 자동채점 엔진을 활용하면 Excel 실기시험의 출제방향에 크게 위배되지 않으면서 사람이 채점타는 경우보다 객관성, 정확성 비용 소요시간의 면에서 기대효과를 꾀할 수 있다.

Central limit theorem is known as one of the most important limit theorem in statistics and probability. This paper provides a dynamic MS Excel program that demonstrates computer simulation of various types of central limit theorems. Our result will be of great use for better understanding of central limit theorems.

This paper discusses two user-friendly reliability techniques that could be implemented easily using the ubiquitous EXCEL. The techniques are First-Order Reliability Method with non-Gaussian random variables expressed using Hermite polynomials and collocation-based stochastic response surface method. It is believed that ease of implementation would popularize use of reliability-based design in practice.

학생들의 참여를 유도하여 통계학 수업을 보다 흥미롭게 하기 위하여 학생들이 수업 시간에 직접 설문에 응답하도록 하였다. 학생들이 각자 응답한 여러 개의 파일을 즉시 한 파일로 모아서 통계분석을 할 수 있도록 비주얼 베이직을 이용한 엑셀 매크로를 작성하였다.
