Usability Evaluation for Smart Phone Augmented Reality Application User Interface (스마트폰 증강현실 애플리케이션 사용자 인터페이스의 사용성 평가 방안)

  • Augmented reality applications offering location based service on smart phone require attention to users and new usability evaluation methods. The aim of this paper is to introduce new usability principles for application development and usability evaluation, and conduct expert evaluation on the augmented reality applications. We created a set of usability principles by analyzing characteristic of augmented reality applications, and conducted expert evaluation on three augmented reality applications primarily used by smart phone users. In expert evaluation and filtering procedure, we identified six usability problems that three applications have in common and the improvement guideline for the usability problems. The results of expert evaluation was verified by user test with a prototype that was developed using the guidelines. It is expect that the results of this study can be presented usability principles of the augmented reality application and a method of usability evaluation in the middle of new technology development process.

  • On the standards or elements of teaching evaluation, the Korea Institute of Curriculum and Evaluation(KICE) has carried out the following research such as : 1) development of the standards on teaching evaluation between 2004 and 2006, and 2) investigation on the elements of Pedagogical Content Knowledge including understanding of learners between 2007 and 2008. The purposes of development of mathematics teaching evaluation standards through those studies were to improve not only mathematics teachers' professionalism but also their own teaching methods or strategies. In this study, the standards were revised and modified by analyzing the results of those studies (namely, evaluation standards) focused on the knowledge of teaching contexts. For this purpose, application of instructional tools and materials, commercial manipulatives, environment of classroom including distribution and control of class group, atmosphere of classroom, management of teaching contexts including management of student were re-established based on the results of the search mentioned above. According to those evaluation domains, elements on teaching evaluation focused on the knowledge of teaching contexts were established.

  • There are many studies about the method of trying leveled class because we say the Excellence of Education after high school's Equalization Policy. After the leveled c1ass, Ministry of Education, Science and Tech. announced the induction of leveled classes' evaluation in 2008, it is called that students take classes adapted to their levels. This study illustrates criteria of forming evaluation, it composes leveled assessment tests referenced by Gibb's evaluation effects & Cotton's evaluation principles. Before anything else, this study induced contents of studies which is emphasized the structure rather than the arithmetic that is based on Foucault' s analysis of mathematics' class and examination & MacGregor's point of algebra. Since then we made leveled assessment tests which made by students' Question. And then, In this study, we modified evaluation tests appropriately by criteria of evaluation and analysing the result.

Development of a Quantitative Analytical Method for Determining the Concentration of Human Urinary Paraben by LC-MS/MS

  • Parabens, the esters of p-hydroxybenzoic acid, have been widely used as antimicrobial preservatives in cosmetic products, drugs, and processed foods and beverages. However, some parabens have been shown to have weak estrogenic effects through in vivo and in vitro studies. Because such widespread use has raised concerns about the potential human health risks associated with exposure to parabens, we developed a simultaneous analytical method to quantify 4 parabens (methyl, ethyl, propyl, and butyl) in human urine, by using solid-phase extraction and high-performance liquid chromatography coupled with triple quadrupole mass spectrometry. This method showed good specificity, linearity ($R^2$ > 0.999), accuracy (92.2-112.4%), precision (0.9-9.6%, CV), and recovery (95.7-102.0%). The LOQs for the 4 parabens were 1.0, 0.5, 0.2, and 0.5 ng/mL, respectively. This method could be used for quick and accurate analysis of a large number of human samples in epidemiological studies to assess the prevalence of human exposure to parabens.

  • The aim of this study is to evaluate Korea's employment policy for people with disabilities by utilizing situational feasibility evaluation of Fisher's multi-dimensional policy evaluation methods (1995, 2003). A number of related studies conducted so far have been focused only on quantitative research methods. In other words, balanced and comprehensive evaluation studies were insufficient. Therefore, this study attempted a balanced policy evaluation through a qualitative or phenomenological approach that complements the limitations of the existing empirical methodology. In this study, the sub-topics for evaluation were divided into employment delivery system, employment program, and institutional employment environment for people with disabilities. Improvement measures and policy implications for each topic were presented. In order to improve employment services and jobs for people with disabiliyies, it was suggested that there is a need to strengthen linkages and cooperation between institutions, eliminate blind spots in employment services, improve quality, expand customized employment services, strengthen programs, improve policy and institutional environments, and strengthen individual psychological and emotional support.

  • As attention to the Internet from both companies and individuals is rapidly on the increase, hundreds of new websites are opening in a single day. Along with such a high attention to the Internet, to set up an effective website needs efficient evaluation and reliable evaluation criterions for the website. The existing homepage contests and evaluation models are limited to certain websites in a special field or to the systemic side and to the contents, which in fact weakened the development of detailed evaluation sections and items possibly measured. This study is designed to integrate and seek out methods and success factors that should be considered when a website is built up, discovering evaluation criterions and making evaluation models objectively possible to be measured. The study focused on investigation into a new measurement standard and model by considering the previous studies, in order to suggest the followings: Centering the 7 top evaluation sections by type of each website such as (1) Service, (2) Mechanism, (3) Structure & Navigation, (4) Usability, (5) Contents (6) Community, (7) Communication, the study suggests an objective and reasonable website evaluation model on a basis of common factors considered in an integral and optimum view.

A Study for Setting Up the Evaluation Items of Housing for the Elderly (노인주택의 평가항목 설정에 관한 연구)

  • This study was conducted to develop standards for evaluating what extent the physical environments of housing which can cope with the needs of the aging society. To set up the evaluation items of housing for the elderly, the evaluation items were formulated after analyzing the items or indices presented by the previous studies. This study was proceeded with in such an order as setting up the scope of evaluation, setting up the areas of evaluation, and setting up the items of evaluation. The scope of evaluation was limited to the indoor spaces of housing as it was thought that the elderly spend much more time at indoors, considering their physical characteristics. The areas of evaluation were composed of seven areas; general matters of housing(14 items), bedroom(35 items), living room(24 items), kitchen(29 items), bathroom(45 items), toilet(40 items), and staircase(15 items). The items of each area included those relevant to general matters, heating and ventilation, light source, openings, and related equipment. Therefore, the items of the evaluation areas were 202 in total.

  • This study introduced various theories and related studies on the evaluation of informal environmental education programs and suggested an evaluation procedure for them. The case study on the procedure and the result of Non-indigenous, Invasive Species Management/Education program evaluation was provided, which was conducted by Cornell University in cooperation with Cornell Cooperative Extension, The Nature Conservancy, and Finger Lake Land Trust. The procedure model that was used in this study was based on Herman et al. (1987) and slightly modified for the environmental education program evaluation. The procedure and results indicated that the implementation of NIS management/education program properly accomplished it's intended goal and objectives. This study also specifically described its implications for the evaluation of environmental education programs in informal settings.

The Recent Trends of Clinical Research on General Anxiety Disorder in Chinese Herbal Medicine (범불안장애의 중의학 약물 임상시험 최신 동향)

  • Objectives : To address suitable method for designing clinical trial intervening Traditional Korean Herbal Medicine on General anxiety disorder through the recent clinical research in Chinese Herbal Medicine. Methods : Randomized, controlled trials(RCTs) of treatment of general anxiety disorder intervening herbal medicine were searched through CNKI databases. We examined several item of studies and evaluated using Jadad scale. We searched articles in CNKI with the key word "General anxiety disorder or 廣範性焦慮症", among them we selected the clinical trial studies related with herbal medicine except for case reports, studies of acupuncture therapy or west medicines. Results : 11 RCT studies of herbal medicine met inclusion criteria. The Studies used CCMD-3, HAMA as inclusion tool and mainly HAMA as a evaluation tool. Studies were progressed for 2-8 weeks, mostly used various positive control. Experiment medicine were mainly 理氣劑, 安神劑. In most studies, experiment group made similar or higher efficacy in comparison with control group. Mean Jadad score of studies was $1.3{\pm}0.67$, and only one study was double-blinded among 11 studies. Conclusions : RCT studies on general anxiety disorder of chinese herbal medicine tend to focus on investigating effect of herbal medicine through setting positive control group with CCMD-3 and HAMA. But, most studies had low quality of trial, for lack of pattern identification, evaluation and inclusion tool of chinese medicine. Clinical trials of general anxiety disorder should provide good quality by randomization, double-blinding, and multi-site trial.

  • Recently, the main concerns of enterprise management activities is how to strengthen the competitiveness to quickly respond to changes and sustain the growth in business environment. As IT(Information Technology) has become to be viewed as a key driver for the business competitiveness, new paradigms, such as business and IT alignment, IT-driven product/service innovation and so on, are regarded as the hot topic in many industries. However, previous studies related to IT evaluation, which is more critical than any other IT activities, have focused on quantitative IT deployment, utilization and its economical effects. Therefore, this study presents the newly-developed evaluation domains and items based on four pairs of relative concepts in industrial informatization, and their multi-dimensional analysis methodology which explains various types of IT characteristics of enterprises. And finally, pilot tests at 2 companies in financial service sector will be performed in order to verify the practicality of the evaluation system.
