간호학생의 간호수행능력 향상을 위한 통합실습평가 프로그램 개발 (Development of an Integrated Clinical Nursing Practice Course for Improvement of Nursing Competency among Nursing Students)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop and evaluate an integrated clinical evaluation program to increase the competency of senior nursing students. Method: A cross-sectional one group test design was utilized. Based on a framework derived from the prior studies, an integrated clinical evaluation program was developed. In order to assess the effect of the developed program, the senior students' experience with the program was measured. The participants were senior nursing students and the program was performed on November, 2005 after their semester was all finished. Result: The evaluation score for ability in application of nursing process was 83.87 and nursing skill was 85.69 by evaluators. The students reported that the program provided a chance to relearn and practice basic nursing skills and it was helpful in increasing decision making competency and their ability to apply the nursing process. Conclusion: This study suggests that the integrated clinical evaluation program contributes to cultivating a nurse with comprehensive nursing competencies and to improve the nursing students' knowledge, attitude, and skill.

Theoretical evaluation of Cox's interaction model of client health behavior for health promotion in adult women

  • This study aimed to evaluate Cox's interaction model of client health behavior (IMCHB) as used in studies on women's health. Using keyword combinations of "women" and "IMCHB" or "interaction model of client health behavior," we searched the PubMed, MEDLINE, Embase, and RISS databases for studies on the promotion of women's health published from January 2009 to April 2019. Finally, 11 studies were selected and evaluated according to seven criteria for theory evaluation, which combined Fawcett's theory evaluation criteria and Chinn and Kramer's criteria. We found that the IMCHB corresponds to a verifiable practical level of a middle-range theory, although it may be partially abstract. It contains all four concepts of the metaparadigm of nursing, in terms of a holistic philosophical approach. A theoretical evaluation demonstrated that the IMCHB has significance, generality, testability, empirical adequacy, and pragmatic adequacy for nursing practice and research. However, the lack of clear conceptual definitions and the presence of complex relationships among concepts resulted in a lack of internal consistency and parsimony. According to an in-depth verification through a review of the literature, the IMCHB has been used as a health promotion intervention strategy for various populations of women and has led to useful results in nursing practice. The IMCHB was confirmed to be a suitable theory for experimental and clinical research. Future research can build on this middle-range theory for women's health research and practice.

수간호사가 활용하는 근무성적 평정에 관한 조사연구 (A Survey on Head Nurses' Perceptions and Performances on Staff Evaluation)

  • This study was designed and carried out to identify the methodologies of the staff evaluation used by the headnurses and their perception on the purpose of the evaluations, and to measure the degree and type of perceived purpose and the degree of implementation of staff evaluation principles into preactice. A hundred and eleven from four general hospitals with 600 beds and over were conveniently sampled. Data were gathered from August 20, through September 10, 1994 ; demographic data of respondents and 'methodologies used for staff evaluation' by questionaires, level of 'perceived purposes of staff evaluation' and level of implementation of the 'principles of staff evaluation into practice' by Likert-type rating scales developed by the researcher. Raw and percentile scores and means were calculated and data were processed further by t-tests and ANOVA. Results are as follows ; 1. Traditional methodlogies : checklists(90.1%) and ranking methods(45.9%) revealed to be the two mostly prefered and used methods. 2. Of the 20 item-descriptions of the 'purpose of staff evaluation': 10 'control, evaluative' and 10 'non-control, developmental' the first(mean=3.19) to the ninth(mean=2.74) in rank order revealed to be the 'control, evaluative purpose', while the tenth in rank order revealed to be the first among the 'non-control, evaluative' item(mean-1.57). 3. Level of purpose of staff evaluation perceived as 'control ; evaluative'(mean=43.76, S.D.=5.01) revealed to be significantly(t=-3.86, p<.05) highter than 'non-control ; developmental'(mean=40.65, S.D.=3.41). 4. Level of implementation of 'staff evaluation principle into practice' revealed to be moderately high(mean=2.40).

정보화 투자 사전평가방법론: Best practice 평가기법 및 적용사례의 통합 (Ex Ante Evaluation Methodology for IT Investment Decision Making: Integrating the Current Best Practice Methods and Applications)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 실무현장에서 필요로 하는 구체적, 실용적 정보화 투자 사전평가방법론을 제공하는데 있다. 이를 위하여 현재 시점에서 Best practice로 인식되고 있는 4개 조직의 사전평가 제도, 방법론, 수행사례를 벤치마킹하고, 그 프로세스, 지표, 측정기법을 통합하여 일관성있는 방법론 체계로 재구성하였다. 본 연구에서 선택한 Best practice 사례는 각각 민간기업과 공공조직, 서비스 분야와 제조 분야, 평가체계와 개별 평가사례를 대표한다고 볼 수 있다. 본 연구의 사전평가방법론은 크게 3단계로 구성되어 있다. 1단계 투자계획 타당성 분석에서는 제안된 정보화 계획 자체의 타당성을 사업계획 충실성, 추진의지, 투자비용 적정성, 중복투자, 조달가능성, 리스크 등의 관점에서 판단한다. 그리고 2단계에서는 정보화가 창출하는 효과의 타당성을 경제적, 전략적, 기술적 관점에서 분석하며, 3단계에서는 다양한 관점의 평가결과를 정량적으로 종합 평점화한다. 이 방법론은 Best practice사례가 축적한 수년간의 노하우와 검증된 가이드라인을 담고 있으며, 특히 리스크 분석, 화폐가치 산출, 종합평점 산출을 위한 정량화 기법은 여러 기업의 사전평가 담당자에게 유용한 참조모델을 제공할 수 있을 것이다. 이 연구는 그 동안 여러 기업들이 개별적으로 제기해 오던 문의와 요청에 대한 일괄적 대응으로 이해할 수 있다.

스마트 디바이스 기반 조리실습교육용 앱 개발 (The Development of Application for Culinary Practice Education using Smart Device)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 정보통신 기술의 발달에 따른 교육환경 변화에 적응할 수 있는 스마트 디바이스 기반의 조리실습교육용 앱을 제작 보급하는 것으로 2012년 7월 1일부터 12월 30일까지 진행되었고 App의 설계는 조리실습 교육 내용 중 서양요리에 대한 이론 내용과 만드는 방법, 실습 동영상, 평가 문항으로 구성하였다. 또한 교수자와 학습자의 상호작용을 위해 공지사항과 관리자 문의 항목을 추가하였으며, 31가지 메뉴에 대한 메인요리사진 31개와 메뉴별 만드는 과정 사진 155개, 요리 레시피 31개, 요리 팁 31개, 평가 문항 372개, 요리 동영상 31개가 제작되었다. 제작된 콘텐츠는 사이트 http://kongju-fn.dslink.co.kr/super/index.html에 접속하여 직접 입력함으로써 App이 제작되도록 하였고, 이렇게 제작한 App을 'play store'에서 '요리박사'로 검색하면 찾을 수 있도록 하였다. 본 연구는 조리실습교육용 App의 개발이 전무한 시점에 제작되었다는 데 그 의의가 있다.

체크리스트를 활용한 기본간호학 실기 교육평가에 관한 연구 - 상완혈압측정과 개방식 멸균장갑 착용과 벗기 중심으로 - (Evaluation of Practice Education Using Checklists in Fundamentals of Nursing - Focused on measuring blood pressure on the upper arm and sterilized gloving(open method) -)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine satisfaction and dissatisfaction factors with the method of testing practice in Fundamentals of Nursing with the students using checklists. Method: Subjects were 251 students doing three month practice. Checklists by K Publishing were used to assess skill in measuring blood pressure and sterilized. Measure for satisfaction and dissatisfaction factors were developed by researcher through a literature review. Collected data were processed using SAS. Results: 1. Average score for satisfaction was $3.49{\pm}0.68$ for theoretical subjects of basic nursing, $3.44{\pm}0.72$ for practical subjects and $3.29{\pm}0.74$ for practice. Average score for interest was $3.71{\pm}0.73$, 2. Average score for general satisfaction was $3.52{\pm}0.56$, and the satisfaction factor with the highest score was 'It was helpful in improving practical skills after the test'(average $3.78{\pm}0.78$). Average Score for general dissatisfaction was $3.13{\pm}0.59$, and dissatisfaction factor With the highest score was 'As I did not think deeply, I don't know exactly what mistakes I made'(average $3.41{\pm}0.94$). 3. Students who wanted to study further in the future appeared to be satisfied with practical tests using checklists(F=2.04, p=.038), and students appeared to be dissatisfied with them when they didn't have enough time for practice(F=3.38, p=.010). Conclusion: Students' satisfaction was relatively high, particularly as the tests were seen as helpful in improving practical skills after tests.

  • Each college of dentistry in Korea is examining and reorganizing its own curriculum to prepare students for the practical examination of the National Dental Licensing Examination. Conducting an assessment of students' competency of communication skills with standardized patients is the first attempt for the examination. Yonsei University College of Dentistry carried out the evaluation of communication attitude, communication written exam, and communication skills practice with standardized patients for Third year predoctoral students. The purpose of this study is a) to find out the relationship between the variables measured in communication skills education and b) to make a new basis for the application of communication education and evaluation in dentistry. Based on the results of the study, the following suggestions for the operation of a dental communication curriculum can be drawn: First, the communication classes and the practice with standardized patients should be based on the wide support of the school. In addition, the patient-dentist interaction (PDI) should be practiced in the same way as practically possible by predoctoral students. Moreover, a space is required to allow predoctoral students to practice PDI. Second, the communication score given by the standardized patients was the most influential on the total score of PDI. This indicates that the communication practice with the standardized patients for the practical examination of the National Dental Licensing Examination is a meaningful process in the course of its communication education.

간호대학생의 임상실습 적용을 위한 의도적 간호순회 프로토콜 개발 (Development of an intentional rounding protocol for nursing undergraduates to apply in clinical practice)

  • Purpose: This study aimed to develop an intentional rounding protocol to enhance the clinical competence of nursing students. Methods: An intentional rounding protocol for nursing students' clinical practice was developed following the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) model. A convenient sampling method was used to select 23 junior year university nursing students during their clinical practice in adult nursing. The program evaluation included a quantitative assessment (communication and relationship efficacy, empathy, and patient safety competency) and focus group interviews. Results: The intentional rounding protocol focused on the 4Ps (pain, position, potty, and possessions) and encompassed aspects such as level of consciousness, pain management, personal care needs, intravenous injection, oxygen administration, nasogastric/nasoenteric tube care, maintenance of urine collection bags, and the identification of environmental fall risks. Nursing students performed intentional rounding at least twice a day. Following the implementation of this protocol, nursing students demonstrated a significant improvement in communication and interpersonal efficacy. The focus group interviews revealed four main themes: growth of human relationships, acquiring knowledge in and about the clinical field, becoming a nurse, and barriers in reality. Conclusion: The intentional rounding protocol has the potential to enhance nursing students' communication and interpersonal skills during clinical practice and to provide them with positive experiences in nursing clinical education. Therefore, it is recommended that this protocol be incorporated into nursing clinical practice education.

국내 생체 인식 시스템 성능 평가를 위한 표준안 연구 (A Study on Standards for Performance Evaluation of Biometric Recognition Systems)

  • 최근 생체 인증 제품이 물리적 보안뿐만 아니라 논리적 접근 제어를 위한 제품으로서 활성화되고 있다. 그러나 국내에서는 이러한 제품의 성능평가 환경이 전무한 상태이며 평가 기준 또한 마련되어 있지 않은 실정이다. 향후 생체 인식 시스템의 사용 확대가 예상됨에 따라 국내 실정에 맞는 생체인식 시스템의 성능시험 평가 기준 및 평가 방법론의 개발이 절실하다 하겠다. 본 논문은 국외 생체인식시스템 평가 기관들의 성능평가에 관한 정량적, 정성적 평가기준 및 평가 방법을 분석하여 그 결과를 토대로 국내 생체인식시스템의 성능평가 방법 및 기준 모델을 정립하는 것을 목적으로 하여, 센서, 알고리즘, 그리고 응용 시스템 전반에 관한 평가 시나리오 및 평가 항목을 정의하고 이를 위한 평가 표준안을 제안하였으며, 이를 바탕으로 4 가지 지문 입력 센서들에 대한 성능을 비교하여 정리하였다.

넓적다리뒤근육의 유연성 측정을 위한 무릎폄 검사 (Knee extension test for assessing hamstring flexibility)

  • Hamstring flexibility is an important factor that affects muscle performance of the lower extremities and is closely associated with sports injuries. Therefore, evaluation of flexibility is important in clinical practice. Results of evaluation are determined by types of tests and cut-off values used; therefore, accurate and detailed understanding of these is necessary before examination. Although the straight leg raise and sit and reach tests are used to evaluate hamstring extensibility, structures including the nerves, fascia, and other muscles can significantly confound the results of these tests. The knee extension test is performed at 90° of hip flexion to minimize the posterior pelvic tilt that occurs during the straight leg test. The knee extension test is most recommended for selective evaluation of hamstring flexibility. The knee extension test is classified into active and passive tests. The cut-off value is usually set at 20° for the active and at 10° for the passive knee extension test. Although a strong association is observed between the two tests, the active knee extension test is preferred in clinical practice because it can be performed by a single examiner, which serves as an advantage. Age, sex, and warm-up exercise tend to affect flexibility; therefore, results should be interpreted with caution. Detailed understanding of each flexibility test is important for reliable evaluation.
