This study aims to measure the service quality of children's libraries using LibQUAL+ and to analyze the effect of service quality on users' satisfaction. To do that, a survey was conducted with 210 users in three children's libraries located in J city. In three service quality dimensions - 'Affect of Service', 'Information Control', and 'Library as Place' - the users' perceived service level was less than the minimum service level, which implies that the current services should be improved immediately. It was also found that 'Affect of Service' and 'Library as Place' influenced the users' satisfaction. Based on the statistical results and the content analysis of the users' comments about the library services, this study suggests recommendations for improving library services in the children's libraries.
So far, there have been mary studies on human emotions and the emotional side of products in the field of emotional engineering. Contemporary emotion-related researches have focused mainly on the relationship between product aesthetics and the emotional responses elicited by the products, but little is known about emotions elicited from using the products. In this study we have extracted some emotional words that can come up during user interaction with a product and reveal emotional changes. Firstly, we assembled a set of emotional words that were sufficient to represent a general overview of Korean emotions, collected from various literature studies in the field of psychology, linguistics, emotional engineering. Secondly, we found emotional words from collecting user opinion on the website. In this study, we used heavy traffic websites such as shopping mall and mania sites. Finally the emotional words were collected from verbal protocols by using Think Aloud technique. The collected words were integrated according to standards and they were applied on evaluation survey twice for evaluating their appropriateness. This survey was conducted for identification of emotional expressions while using a product. Finally, we extracted 88 emotional words for measuring user's emotions expressed while using products. And we categorized the 88 words to form 6 groups by using factor analysis. The 6 categories that were extracted as a result of this study, such as aesthetics, satisfaction in usability, novelty, uncomfortable- ness, pleasure and excellence were found to be user's representative emotions expressed while using products. It is expected that emotional words and user's representative emotions extracted in this study will be used as subjective evaluation data that is required to measure user's emotional changes while using a product.

As global climate change leaded to extensive natural disaster and radical deterioration of infrastructures, there was increased attentions for the evaluation of infrastructures. After the collapse of Seongsu Bridge in 1994, Korea has enacted the "Special act on safety and maintenance of facilities" and secured the safety of facilities using systematic and periodic safety inspections. However, current facility inspections are mainly performed by the physical defect and structural analysis, and do not properly consider the serviceability of infrastructure such as capacity of facility and user's satisfaction. Thus, the purpose of the study is to develop an evaluation criteria for serviceability of infrastructures and finally leading to the revision of "Special Act on safety and maintenance of facilities in rational manner.

The purpose of this study was to delve into literature of library service quality, including recent studies on the same theme, and to suggest what types of major issues there were and what should be studied in the future. Specifically, the concept and characteristics of service quality, service quality models, service determinants (outcome variable), user satisfaction and e-service were discussed. Articles on the quality of information service, like library-related LibQual, were examined, and it's attempted to make a comprehensive review of studies on service quality and to introduce major international studies on same issues. Finally, what future research efforts should focus on in each field was presented.
The purpose of this research was to develop a smart wear equipped with wearable technologies for women in the age of 50's and 60's and confirm its acceptability. For this, we constructed a casual jacket that has the integration of heating and lighting function, and evaluated the user's satisfaction. The size of the heating device attached at the back of the jacket was 300 mm in width and 120 mm in length and the size of the one attached at the front abdomen was 180 mm in width and 120 mm in length. The power supplier was the unification of the battery and controller which have been waterproofed. The lighting device connected with LED was 26mm in width, 20 mm in length and 1.5 mm in thickness. It has been designed in a waterproofed rectangular shape and was attachable to the jacket. The satisfaction survey of a smart jacket has been conducted with three standards, which were convenience, appearance and practicality. Free physical movement among the standard of convenience had very high scores with the average of 4.7 on a five point-scale. The acceptability of the jacket was 4.6, which proved that it didn't have unique feelings compared to ordinary ones. The evaluation score of the appearance of the jacket was 4.5. Especially inside finishing of the jacket received the highest scores from all ages. According to the evaluation of practicality, there has been no change in the appearance of the jacket and the function of heating device after laundry.

The purpose of this study is providing an evaluation criteria for appropriateness of bicycle riding path considering trip purpose based on cyclist's response of importance and satisfaction. The survey presents a quantified criteria of evaluating appropriateness of the bicycle path by investigating difference of impotance and satisfaction between two purposes among 5 selected influence factors about bicycle lane and bicycle parking facility, and in case of commuting purpose, information of destination is additionally considered. All the influence factors are analyzed by Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) which yields importance. For the factors which have a huge difference between two purposes, evaluation criteria using a GIS Data of respondent's path and satisfaction of each factors is developed, and other factors are made it by reviewing literature. The importance analyzed by AHP and evaluation criteria can provide a path based LOS for cyclist, and this information can be improved through user's response from app or search engine in the future. and by considering individual's evaluation, it can provide individually specified information.
This paper proposes a Image retrieval system that searches the closest images to the user's emotional need and displays images with higher ratings of color harmony from Moon-Spencer's Color Harmony Theory first. Once an emotional adjective is placed, the system searches for images with colors that contain more elements derived from Aesthetic Measure results and displays in such order. In order to test reliability of the proposed emotion retrieval method based on Moon-Spencer's Color Harmony Theory, this study compared the order of Aesthetic Measure results with the user satisfaction ratings using 200 sample images. The analysis demonstrated that the participants' average satisfaction on 15 emotion adjectives selected for the study was 5.0 on a 7-point Likert scale. Correlation analyses were performed to test the consistency the orders between Aesthetic Measure values and user satisfaction ratings. Positive correlations above R=.5 were observed in all 14 emotion words except "Clear". These findings prove the potential of the proposed emotion retrieval system based on Moon-Spencer's Color Harmony Theory to effectively reflect user emotion in such visual stimulus search as image database.

Purpose: When performing nuclear medicine examinations, body wraps or plastic supports are used to support and immobilize the patient's upper extremities to prevent patient safety accidents. However, the existing plastic supports compromised patient and staff safety, including finger entrapment and falls. Moreover, the body wrap provided by manufacturers compromised image quality such as upper extremities cutoff during whole body bone scan. Therefore, a new design of body wrap was developed to improve the issue, and this study aims to evaluate the usability of this medical body wrap. Materials and Methods: To evaluate the usability of the newly designed medical body wrap, a quality assessment of whole body bone scan images and a user satisfaction survey were conducted. Adult patients (male:female=129:152, age: 60.3±12.4 years, BMI: 24.0±4.2) aged 16 years or older who underwent a whole body bone scan during two periods: June to July 2022 (before improvement, n=139) and June to July 2023 (after improvement, n=142) were randomly selected for image quality evaluation. Five radiotechnologists visually evaluated the posterior view of the whole body bone image, including the left and right elbow (2 points), arm (2 points), whether the hand is extended (2 points), whether the hand is included (2 points), and the number of visible fingers (10 points), with a total of 18 points, which were converted to 100 points and analyzed for difference before and after improvement using an independent sample t-test. The user satisfaction questionnaire was evaluated using a 5-point Likert scale among 16 radiotechnologists from three general hospitals who experienced the new body wrap. Results: The image quality assessment was 82.0±13.8 before the improvement and 89.3±10.1 after the improvement, an average of 7.3 points higher, with a statistically significant difference (t=5.02, p<0.01). The user satisfaction survey showed an overall satisfaction rating of 4.1±0.8 for ease of use, 3.8±0.7 for scan preparation time, 3.9±0.7 for patient safety, 3.8±1.2 for scan accuracy, and 4.2±0.7 for recommendation (87.5% questionnaire response rate). Conclusion: The developed body wrap showed higher image quality and user satisfaction compared to the old method. Considering these results, it is deemed that the new body wrap may be more useful than existing methods.
This study explores the usability of extended reality (XR) content tailored for production process training, with a focus on user experience. Participants engaged with extended reality training modules, and qualitative data was subsequently collected through interviews. These interviews evaluated the hardware, user interface, and overall user satisfaction. The analysis utilized python packages for keyword extraction and word cloud visualization, offering insights into user perceptions. The findings revealed that although the hardware was deemed comfortable, concerns were raised regarding its weight and heat emission. The interactive interface, which relies on hand tracking, encountered issues with recognition rates, leading to suggestions for alternative input methods. Users acknowledged extended reality's potential impact on industries like healthcare and education, sharing both positive and negative views on the technology. This research enhances our understanding of user responses and guides the future enhancement of extended reality content for industrial applications, aiming to improve its quality and practical usability

In today's digital world, smartphones and web-based applications have gained remarkable importance throughout the globe. These smart applications are playing a very significant role in maintaining a powerful business. As well as, they are helping a lot to expand these businesses via social networks. Social media networks such as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn are playing a prominent role to promote the companies. In the hospitality sector, most of the companies are running their hotel booking systems by utilizing mobile applications and a web-based infrastructure, but usability issues still exist. This study has been conducted specifically to tackle the usability issues of hotel booking systems and the best utilization of social networks to promote the business. TripAdvisor was selected as an authentic source for selecting those systems and two international hotels are selected for this study. The first step is to identify different hotel booking systems. In the second step, the user's satisfaction level was measured for the selected systems by performing the System Usability Scale (SUS, Quick & Dirty) approach. Additionally, by which source (social media or personal relations) they found these hotels. It is found that the SUS rating for both systems is below the acceptable level of usability. The Mean SUS for hotel 1 is found at 55.25 and 51.2 for hotel 2. The third step was to identify the user interface (UI) issues, and heuristic evaluation is performed for this. The experts identified the UI issues on the basis of their experience. The major issues were related to the visibility of system status, error prevention, flexibility and efficiency of use. Depending upon the identified issues, an interactive UI (prototype) for the selected web-based applications was proposed. This prototype is mainly based on the user's perspective. This prototype can be used for improving the UI of the selected systems which is based on the user's perspective. During the process of verifying the satisfaction level, it is revealed that the targeted audience is not able to use these systems efficiently and effectively. The reason behind this is the negligence of usability guidelines throughout the process of design and development of these hotel booking systems. Therefore, it is highly recommended that the usability of these systems should be evaluated and redesigned, based on expert opinions. It has also been observed that the reviews/ feedback of customers has spread a negative impact through social networks.
